Background: Tea is an herbal product which has an antibacterial effect and ability to increase saliva pH. black tea contains polyphenols which can help prevent dental caries. The teeth of primary school-aged children are susceptible to caries, and prevention is needed as early as possible. Objective: To discover the effectiveness of gargling with black tea to the salivary pH increase on elementary school students. Method: This is a quasi-experimental research with the pretest-posttest design with control group. The population in this research was the 2nd grade students of State Elementary School are 58 students. Total Sampling was used for the sample collecting. The sample was divided to two groups, namely the treatment group of black tea gargling, and the other is the control group of distilled water gargling. The data analysis used Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney. Results: Based on the results, the average before gargling with black tea was 6.634, and increased to 7.297 after gargling with black tea. The average before gargling with distilled water was 6.648, and 6.669 after gargling with distilled water. The Wilcoxon Test result showed the value of p= 0.000< 0.05 which means there was a significant difference between before and after gargling with black tea. The Mann-Whitney Test result showed the value of p= 0.000 < 0.05 so there was an effectiveness difference between gargling with black tea and distilled water to the salivary pH increase. Conclusion: Gargling with black tea is effective in increasing the salivary pH on elementary school students. Keywords: Gargle, black tea, saliva pH

<p><em>The aims of this study was to look at the effect of healthy breakfast education with Islamic Comic Media on the level of knowledge of elementary school students. This study was a quasi-experimental type with pre-posttest control group design. The</em><em> </em><em>sampling </em><em>w</em><em>a</em><em>s </em><em>simple random method as many as </em><em>64</em><em> students, group A was given islamic comic media (n=32) and group </em><em>B </em><em>as control of the group (n=32). Nutrition knowledge level</em><em> </em><em>were obtained from filling out questionnaires. The influence of nutritional education media on increasing knowledge</em><em> </em><em>in </em><em>both</em><em> groups analyzed by Wilcoxon test, and continued with the Mann Whitney test.</em><em> The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant increase in the level of knowledge in islamic comic group (p = 0,000). There is the influence of giving Islamic comic </em><em>about healthy breakfast</em><em> </em><em>to </em><em>elementary school-age </em><em>students' knowledge.</em></p>

The research method used was pre-experimental research which was conducted on elementary school students without using a control group. This research was conducted online at SDN Sonorejo 2 Kediri in August 2020. Pain measurement used the Wong-Baker Faces Pain, which was measured at the pretest and posttest. The results showed that the mean pretest score was 4.07 and for the post-test average score was 0.87. This shows that the mean pretest score results are in the interpretation of a little more pain, while the average posttest score results are in the painless interpretation, which means that there is a decrease from the average pretest score results. Wilcoxon test results obtained p value = 0.000 where α = 0.05, so it can be concluded that there is a significant reduction in low back pain after giving therapeutic exercise

Multicultural approach in Indonesian language has become an absolute necessity over the last years. This research highlights the role of multicultural culture as a means to improve writing achievement of Indonesian Language among elementary school students. This study aims at determining the effectiveness of the multicultural approach in the writing achievement of Indonesian language among fifth grade students of islamic elementary school who are grouped based on their learning motivation. This study can be catagorized as an experimental study with 2x2 factorial design. The independent variable consists of two categories, multicultural and conventional approaches. The population was  60 fifth grade students of at two private islamic schools. The data was collected using learning achievement tests and learning motivation questionnaires, and analyzed using two-way ANOVA and sheffe test. The results showed that (1) there were a gap in learning achievement between students in the experimental group and control group students; (2) there were differences in learning achievement between students with high motivation between both groups; (3) there were differences in learning achievement between low motivated students between both groups; (4) the multicultural approaches proved to be more effective than the conventional one; and (5) there was no interaction between the approaches and the learning motivation.

The unbalanced eating behavior of school-age children is influenced by the level of nutritional knowledge. The purpose of this research is to analyze the comparison of media education with videos and pop-up books on the knowledge of balanced nutrition guidelines for elementary school students. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. The total sample used in the study was 90 students who were taken by probability sampling and then divided into two groups, 45 students were given education with video media (P1) and 45 students were educated with pop-up book media (P2). Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney test with a significant level of 0.05. The results obtained are that there is a difference in the level of knowledge of the pop-up book group before and after education (p=0.0001) and there is no difference in the level of knowledge of the video group before and after education (p=1.00). Pop-up book media is more effective in increasing students' knowledge level of balanced nutrition compared to video, so pop-up book media can be an alternative media used to provide education to elementary school students.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Apakah pelatihan bunyi huruf efektif dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan pada Siswa kelas 1 Sekolah Dasar. Pelatihan Bunyi Huruf ini mengacu pada teori Phonological Awareness dari Torgessen dan Wagner (1998) Phonological Awarenes adalah sensitivitas atau kesadaran eksplisit seseorang yang meliputi kemampuan mendengar, melihat, memikirkan atau memanipulasi struktur bunyi dari kata-kata dalam bahasanya. Subyek dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 12 siswa kelas 1 SD yang belum lancar membaca. Siswa tersebut dibagi mejadi 2 kelompok yaitu kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen. Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan sebagai test yang pada pretest dan postest adalah EGRA (Early Grade Reading Assessment). Pelatihan Bunyi Huruf dilakukan sebanyak 8 kali pertemuan, dan hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya peningkatan skor kemampuan membaca yang sangat signifikan pada kelompok eksperimen setelah diberikan pelatihan bunyi huruf. Disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan bunyi huruf terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan siswa sekolah dasar. This study aims to find out whether effective letter sound training can improve initial reading skills in Grade 1 Elementary School students. This Letter Sound Training refers to the Phonological Awareness theory of Torgessen and Wagner (1998) Phonological Awareness is the sensitivity or explicit awareness of a person which includes the ability to hear, see, think or manipulate the sound structure of words in the language. The subjects in this study were 12 grade 1 elementary school students who had not read fluently. The students were divided into 2 groups, namely the control group and the experimental group. The data collection tool used as a test at the pre-test and post-test was EGRA (Early Grade Reading Assessment). Letter Sounding Training was conducted in 8 meetings, and the results of the study showed a very significant increase in the reading ability score in the experimental group after being given letter sound training. It was concluded that letter sound training proved effective in improving the ability of elementary school students

<span>This research was motivated by limited self-regulated learning (SRL) in elementary school students. The aim of this research was to understand the increase in SRL of elementary school students apply the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) approach which was reviewed as a whole and based on Early Mathematical Ability (EMA) during the COVID-19. This study was applied with a quasi-experimental method through a nonequivalent control group. Determination of the sample through purposive sampling on fifth-grade elementary school students in Central Jakarta. The sample coincide of 27 students each for the CPA and the conventional class. Measurement through a scale of SRL. This research informs the students' SRL on CPA learning that is significantly better than SRL with conventional approach reviewed as a whole and in the medium EMA group., however, based on the high and low EMA groups, SRL students who received CPA learning were not significantly better than those with conventional learning.</span>

School age children are groups that is prone to experiencing health problems due to low knowledge of clean and healthy life behavior. To increase their knowledge, an attractive promotional media namely snake and ladder is needed so that the delivery of material is easily accepted by them. The purpose of this method is as a stimulus medium so that elementary school students can easily understand on how to improve clean and healthy life behavior. The research method was quasi-experimental with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population were 85 elementary school students of Ujong Tanjung in IV, V and VI grade who had been given an understanding of CHLB. The sample consisted of 30 people who would be given a pre-test and post-test who were previously given snake and ladder media intervention. The results showed there was a significant improvement on student’s knowledge after they got intervention with snake and ladder media where during the pre-test the respondents who had good knowledge were 11 people (36.7%) but after being given the intervention, it was increase into 22 people (73.3%). On the other hand, respondents with poor knowledge category on pre-test were 19 people (63.3%), after being given the intervention, it was decrease into 8 people (26.7%). Based on the results of Wilcoxon test, it was found Pvalue = 0,000 < α =0.05, it is indicated there is a significant difference on respondents’ knowledge about clean and healthy life behavior (CHLB) before and after given the intervention through Snake and Ladder (SAL) media. The conclusion is there is the difference in the level of respondents’ knowledge on CHLB (Clean and Healthy Living Behavior) before and after the intervention through Snake and Ladder (SAL) media.

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media elektronik LCD terhadap prestasi belajar Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial Siswa Kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Tujuannya untuk mengungkapkan pengaruh media elektronik LCD terhadap prestasi penggunaan belajar Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial Siswa  kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pre-experiment yaitu rancangan penelitian eksperimen yang hanya mempergunakan kelompok eksperimen saja, tanpa kelompok komtrol (pembanding) sampel subyek dipilih seadanya tanpa mempergunakan randomisasi. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah “One Group Design Pretest-Postest”. Pembelajaran diukur sebelum dan sesudah pemberian perlakuan. Jumlah populasi hanya 25 siswa. Maka dalam penentuan sampel hanya menggunakan kelompok eksperimen saja tanpa kelompok kontrol (perbandingan), subyek  dipilih tanpa mempergunakan randomosasi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan  dengan mengunakan instrumen-instrumen yang sudah disebutkan diatas yaitu hasil ulangan harian siswa dan respon siswa/ pengisian angket siswa. Data yang dikumpulkan akan dianalisis secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Skor rata-rata hasil belajar IPS siswa yang diajar sebelum penggunaan media elektronik LCD (Pretest) Sekolah Dasar adalah bervariasi dengan hasil belajar rata-rata 71,4% dengan standar deviasi 7,788. Sedangkan Skor rata-rata hasil belajar IPS siswa yang diajar setelah (Posttest) penggunaan media elektronik LCD Sekolah Dasar adalah bervariasi juga dengan hasil belajar rata-rata 78,84% dengan standar deviasi 7,949. Berdasarkan pembahasan yang telah diuraikan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil belajar IPS meningkat setelah diterapkan penggunaan media elektronik LCD pada proses belajar mengajar. This research was conducted to find out the influence of LCD electronic media to the learning achievement of Social Science of Grade V Elementary School Students.  The objective is to reveal the influence of LCD electronic media on the achievement of learning Social Sciences of Grade V Elementary School students.  The type of research used is pre-experiment or pre-experiment research that is experimental research design which only use experiment group only, without group of controller (comparison) sample of selected subjects pickup without using randomization.  The design used is "One Group Design Pretest-Posttest". Learning is measured before and after treatment. The population is only 25 students. So in the sample determination using only the experimental group alone without the control group (comparison), the subjects were selected without using randomosatio . Data collection is done by using the instruments mentioned above that are result of student's daily test and student's response / student questionnaire filling. The data collected will be analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The average score of students' IPS learning outcomes taught prior to the use of electronic LCD media (Pretest) Primary Schools was varied with an average learning outcome of 71.4% with a standard deviation of 7.788. While the mean score of IPS learning outcomes of students who were taught after (Posttest) use of electronic media LCD Primary School is varied also with the average learning outcome 78.84% with standard deviation of 7.949. Based on the discussion that has been described, it can be concluded that the results of IPS learning increased after applied the use of LCD electronic media on the learning process.

For older elementary school students, amicable peer relationships are important to meeting developmental challenges, such as socialization. Thus, in this study, the effectiveness of a school gardening program to promote positive social relationships among elementary school students was assessed. The participants in this study were fifth and sixth grade students from four elementary schools in Wonju, South Korea. The experimental and control groups consisted of 123 students each (total 246) from fifth and sixth grade classrooms. The gardening program included a range of activities, such as sowing seeds and harvesting produce, and was designed to improve peer status, peer relations, and sociality. The program was embedded in the school curriculum; sessions were 90 minutes per week for 10 weeks from 16 April through 25 June 2012. The results revealed the school gardening program brought about meaningful differences in both persistence of friendship (P = 0.04) and adaptability between friends (P = 0.03), which were subcategories of peer relationships, in the experimental group. There were also significant improvements in sociality (P < 0.001) and its various subcategories, especially in law-abiding (P < 0.001) and collaboration (P < 0.001). Finally, the peer status results showed that there was significantly a greater increase in the peer status after the school gardening program, but there was no significant change in the control group. In conclusion, the school gardening program for elementary school students had a positive influence on peer relationships, sociality, and peer status. Implementing a garden program in schools will effectively contribute to the improvement of social relationships among elementary school students.

The importance of the application of healthy behaviors in elementary schools need serious attention. Results of a preliminary study revealed the low student behavior, especially on the selection of healthy foods. Efforts to do one of them by conveying this information by using the right media health education. This study aimed to increase the knowledge of elementary school students through health education media "Smart with Your Foods". Implementation has been performed using a quasi-experimental design with non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. Research subjects are elementary school students. Respondents were divided into the experimental class and control class. This research reveals that "Smart with Your Foods" media effectively to enhance students' knowledge about the selection of healthy foods. Conclusion: This media is effective in improving the selection of foods knowledge for elementary school students
