Belford is a small (about 1.32 square miles), relatively isolated, fishing community. It is nestled between Port Monmouth and Leonardo on Route 36 in the Bayshore area of Middletown, New Jersey. It sits across the bay from New York City such that the view from the fishing port is of New York City and the Earle Naval Pier. Belford is a mix of houses and small businesses, although the primary economic focus is the Belford Seafood Cooperative and the beach/fishing access areas. Ethnographic data was collected for the Belford commercial fishing port as part of a larger effort to provide information that can be used to assess the impacts of changes in the regulatory environment on fisheries and fishing communities. The profile of Belford the follows contributes to other work done on the likely social impacts of alternative regulatory actions, as well as developing scientifically defensible criteria for determining fishery dependency. This research also contributes to our understanding of the role of gentrification on traditional fishing communities, particularly the stress gentrification puts on traditional behaviors.

This paper describes social capital as one of the great strengths to solve economic problems in traditional fishing communities. The enormous potential of marine resources in Indonesia can be used as a basic capital to provide welfare for the fishing communities. In addition to that, the regulation of regional autonomy and the marine ministry’s policies should have encouraged the economic autonomy of fishing communities. However, the fact shows that these fishing communities still face many social problems such as unqualified human resources, the absence of an economic financing system, and both internal and external social conflicts. Related to the economic issues, their social capital will be established a very strong relationship between the fishing community with Dipo (Place to sell the fishermen’s fish). Capital provided by the Dipo is based on the trust between the two sides. The large number of Dipos will further encourage fishermen to work actively, and the selling price of fishing to become more competitive. Therefore, there will be no price monopoly by Dipo as the capital owner. Furthermore, it will have an impact on economic autonomy.

Savings among individuals in the informal sector is imperatively expedient if they are to have any decent and comfortable living conditions at retirement as savings in the informal sector become the obvious substitute for formal pensions. However, much is not known regarding the savings habits of informal sector, particularly, the fishing communities in Ghana. Apparently, this study investigates into the determinants of savings habit of the informal sector in Ghana, using the case of the Gbegbeyishie Fishing community. The data for the study was obtained through administering questionnaires and interviewing targeted respondents. A 120 sample size was randomly drawn from Gbegbeyishie fishing community in Ghana. This study employs the probit model in estimating the determinants of savings in the informal sector. SPSS and STATA statistical packages were employed in descriptive analysis and estimation of the probit model respectively. It is glaring in this study that age, gender and income are statistically significant conditions for savings in the informal sector. It is also evincing in this study that Age has a significant negative effect on savings and aging decreases the propensity to save by 0.1577656. On the other hand, income has statistically significant positive effect on savings and that a one unit change in the income variable increases the propensity to save by 0.1292502. Also, the probability for a male, all other factors held constant, to save is higher than for a female to save and being a man increases the propensity to save by 0.2024894. The study also revealed that the main hindrance to savings in the Gbegbeyishie Fishing Community is Low income. As a result, the authors recommend that men and married people should be targeted whiles paying little attention to the aged in stimulating savings among fishing communities in Ghana. Educational programs could also be organized for the workers in the informal sector as most of the workers have no education which could hinder their income earning capacity and for that matter savings. Further research could also be engineered to consider macro-economic conditions for savings habit in Ghana.

Abstract Simultaneous realization of high quality factor (Q), sensitivity, and figure of merit (FOM) play a pivotal role in building the THz sensor. For such purpose, we propose an all-polymeric Bloch surface wave (BSW) structure that supports a bright BSW mode and a dark surface Fano state that is embedded in the continuum, both of which coupled to the same radiation channels. The existence of the sharp dip with a maximum depth of Fano line could be interpreted with the physics of Friedrich–Wintgen bound states in the continuum (FW-BICs), because of the destructive interference between bright BSW and dark surface Fano modes. A strong angular- and frequency-dependent Q was found. Related influential factors to Q value may also include an asymmetric arrangement of top and grating layers, together with the weak coupling provided by photonic crystals. One numerically optimized design shows a quality factor Q of the Fano mode as 23,670, which is almost two orders higher than that in conventional metallic-metamaterial-based designs. The optimized sensitivity can numerically reach 4.34 THz/RIU in the frequency domain, which is one order higher than that reported in all-dielectric metasurfaces. We infer the high sensitivity is related to the phase-matching condition provided by near-subwavelength gratings. The associated FOM can reach 8857/RIU. Besides, the proposed design also numerically demonstrates high sensitivity in the angular domain ∼125.5°/RIU. Considering it poses no specific requirement for materials that own high contrast of permittivity in the THz regime, large interfacing area, the mechanical and chemical robustness offered by polymers and low cost in fabrication, such all-polymeric BSW structure that supports novel Fano resonance in THz window may give access to rich applications in hazardous gas detection and label-free bio-sensing.

A cross-sectional descriptive study of the actual situation of health human resources at Phu Tho Traditional Medicine and Rehabilitation Hospital, with the combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods, was carried out among 22 in-depth interviews. The results show that the actual situation of human resources of the Hospital: The total number of hospital staff is still much insufficient than that regulated in the Circular No.08/2007/TTLT-BYT-BNV, specifically in 2017, there was a shortage of 81 staff; in 2018 there was a shortage of 82 staff and in 2019 there was a shortage of 72 staff. The education with university level of hospital staff in 2017 accounted for 33.54%; in 2018, it accounted for 38.75% and in 2019, it accounted for 41.18%. The human resources structure in 2019 of the Hospital was that: clinical staff accounted for 55%; Subclinical and pharmaceutical staff accounted for 26%; Managerial and administrative staff accounted for 19%. Some influential factors are: Working conditions and environment: The hospital always adheres to the hospital quality criteria issued by the Ministry of Health to build and develop. The Hospital’s recruitment was still passive, bound by the regulations of all levels, so it was not proactive in building and recruiting the human resources according to the actual situation of the Hospital. The additional income level in addition to salaries and allowances of the Hospital staff is still low.

Technical and vocational skills are essential for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to secure growth and wealth as per the UAE Vison 2021, Abu Dhabi Vision 2030 and Emiratization strategies. Gaining insights about the factors that influence Emirati students that study technical and vocational education can support the UAE to attract more Emiratis into that area. What are those major influential factors, and are there any differences related to the gender, age level, and location of living in the UAE? The factor analysis revealed five underlying factors; the career factor, the economic factor, the guidance factor, the media factor, and the social environment factor. The career factor (M = 3.48) is perceived as the most influential one, followed by the social environment factor (M = 3.32). The independent sample t-test presented a statistically significant difference between male (M = 2.8, SD = 1.066, N = 178) and female (M = 2.6, SD = 1.066, N = 250) perceptions in the economic factor (t [426] = 2.042 = 0.042, p < 0.05). The result shows that males place more emphasis on the economic aspect when considering their educational paths. The one-way ANOVA revealed a statistically significant variance in the economic factor for the location of living (F [7,420] = 4.278, p < 0.05). The research discloses that the career aspects and future job perspectives in addition to parents of national students are the most considerable influencer, which is forming the basis for this study. Differences in perceptions could be discovered for economic aspects only. The findings reveal it is essential to consider the career, economic aspect, and parents’ involvement when marketing technical and vocational education to Emirati students. Social media marketing is recommended as an advertising tool for best results.

Abstract: The government continuously strives to carry out land registration in all Indonesianregions to ensure legal certainty. By the government initiatives, the completion of land registrationthroughout Indonesia is planned to be completed in 2024 through the Complete Systematic LandRegistration (PTSL) program. In its implementation, the number and speed of achievement ofregistered land parcels among Land Off ices are different. Based on this fact, it is very important toconduct a research on what factors that affect the achievement/realization of the Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) signif icantly. The method that was used in this research was aquantitative approach, and the data was processed by using multiple regression tests to get thesignif icant simultaneously influential factors. The factors that had a signif icant effect simultaneously are : the number of human resources involved in PTSL, the number of juridical data collectors that are involved, the number of computers used in PTSL, the number of available theodolite, the number of available GPS, and less than 3%-slope of the area. Optimization of these factors canbe done by optimizing the human resources involved in the PTSL team through participatory mapping, computer support tools, the use of measuring instruments in various slopes, and strengthening PTSL perceptions and innovations Intisari: Pemerintah secara terus menerus berusaha melaksanakan pendaftaran tanah di seluruhwilayah negara Indonesia untuk menjamin kepastian hukum.
