The article emphasizes the impact of digital transformation on the “park of professions” and the training of university students as transprofessionals with a high level of development of information competence. The increased interest in career guidance projects allows us to determine the potential of the “park of professions” for the development of transprofessional information competence of university students. Transprofessional competencies, one of which is information competence, are the skills of the future (future skills). Hard skills – (English “hard” skills) competencies manifested in the narrow professional sphere, and soft skills – (English “soft” skills) as transprofessional competencies acquired and developed throughout life, characterized by moving beyond one profession. The information competence of university students should be considered as a transprofessional competence and as a sociocultural phenomenon at the same time. Information competence as a socio-cultural phenomenon includes a culture of working with a professional context as a transformation of information into texts of one’s own consciousness; culture of presentation of educational results in the form of a digital product; a culture of information security management; a culture of working with information in relation to relevance; culture of mobile solution of professional tasks with the help of digital technologies; a culture of working with digital content presented in a digital educational environment, which characterizes information competence as well as transprofessional. The potential of the “park of professions” expands the boundaries of understanding the information competence of university students as transprofessional.

Vocational schools are no exception to implementing the online learning policy during the covid-19 pandemic, including students majoring in hotel accommodation. This study aims to describe how the school develops its readiness to implement the policy, particularly its challenges. This study also aims to determine the constraints and impacts of implementing the policy. Using a qualitative method, this study involved two vocational schools in Yogyakarta that have Hotel Accommodation major. The heads of the departments, the productive teachers, and some students were invited to several interviews. Documentation was also used to obtain detailed information. The results were categorized into two aspects: hard-skills and soft-skills. From the first aspect, challenges that are faced as the impact of the policy are (1) online learning at vocational schools majoring in hotel accommodation requires facilities and infrastructure that do not include internet quota, (2) teacher digital competence and teacher creativity in carrying out learning need to be improved, (3) students feel bored with online learning, so motivation needs to be grown, (4) skills/ practice-based learning implemented in school alternately with a limited number of students. The second aspect indicated that the policy makes it difficult to develop students' soft skills that are also measured as the learning objective. These constraints are important to note for the implementation of the online learning policy to be successful.

Flu vaccination for the general population, and specifically for vulnerable subgroups, brings the potential to reduce the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in terms of mobility, mortality, and hospitalizations. In Italy, flu vaccination is recommended to all ≥6 months of age, even if it is only free of charge for specific categories. We investigated the intentions towards flu and COVID-19 vaccinations from a sample of 436 Italian university students. Results of a web-based survey show that 77.52% of them were willing to get the flu vaccine and 94.73% were willing to be vaccinated against COVID-19 when available. We identified positive predictive factors to undertake flu vaccination as being a medical student, having undertaken a previous vaccination against flu, and having a high level of concern and perceived vulnerability to the COVID-19 pandemic. Reinforced public health activities might consider engaging university students a as possible “positive influencer” towards flu and COVID-19 vaccination programs.

This paper analyses the degree of participant (mentees, mentors, and technical-research team) satisfaction with two university mentoring programmes for pre-university students with high intellectual capacities in Spain. Three versions of a Likert-type scale questionnaire were applied (mentees, mentors, and technical-research team), resulting in a total sample of 43 questionnaires from mentors, 314 from mentees, and 43 from the technical-research team in 43 workshops offered by the GuíaMe-AC-UMA Programme; and 27 questionnaires from mentors, 203 from mentees, and 27 from the technical-research team in the 27 workshops offered by the Amentúrate Programme. The results indicate a high level of satisfaction with the development of the workshops offered by both programmes, on the part of all participants. No significant differences were found in terms of thematic area or gender, although there were differences in age. The participation of the three agents involved in this training offer was very successful, and our results supported the findings of previous investigations. More work is required on the transfer and maintenance of the impact that this type of programme can have on young pre-university students with high abilities.

There is a “timing optimism” that artificial general intelligence will be achieved soon, but some literature has suggested that people have mixed feelings about its overall impact. This study expanded their findings by investigating how Taiwanese university students perceived the overall impact of high-level-machine-intelligence (HLMI) in three areas: a set of 12 human professions, autonomous vehicles, and smart homes. Respondents showed a relatively more positive attitude, with a median answer of “on balance good”, toward HLMI’s development corresponding to those occupations having a higher probability of automation and computerization, and a less positive attitude, with a median of “more or less neutral”, toward professions involving human judgment and social intelligence, and especially creativity, which had a median of “on balance bad”. On the other hand, they presented a highly positive attitude toward the AI application of the smart home, while they demonstrated relatively more reservation toward autonomous vehicles. Gender, area of study, and a computer science background were found as predictors in many cases, whereas traffic benefits, and safety and regulation concerns, among others, were found as the most significant predictors for the overall impact of autonomous vehicles, with comfort and support benefits being the most significant predictor for smart homes. Recommendations for educators, policy makers, and future research were provided.
