This article discusses the problem of Islamic education from a theological and sociological point of view. The emergence of normative and verbalist Islamic education curriculum distorts the universality of Islam. Islam that is contextual in space and time, always in contact with sociological aspects, should be understood as something that can change its partiality dynamics continuously, even though there is a universal thing that is maintained as a normative belief. On the other hand, the failure of education to produce educational output that is dignified and virtuous has caused some people to distrust the world of education in developing the character and ethics of children. The vote of disbelief is getting stronger with the emergence of the National curriculum model which gives a greater portion of general subjects than religious subjects. This paper is a criticism of the development of the world of education in Indonesia, with the hope that education stakeholders make changes to the education system and the applicable curriculum.

The aim of this present study is to initiate Islamic education in order to rectify the educational paradigm in Indonesia. With respect to the research methodology, this study employed a qualitative approach and literature study method. In its implementation, the collected data was then analyzed using a descriptive analysis method. Based on the results of the discussion, in order to rectify the educational paradigm in Indonesia, it should initially change the secularism paradigm that has been fossilized in the world of education into the paradigm of Islam, al-Qur`an, and Tauhid. As a consequence, this paradigm will have implications for the establishment of the conceptualized education system that inevitably also affects the to-be-achieved educational objectives. In order to realize a good education system, there should be integration between the elements of education practitioners which consist of family, mosques/schools/campuses, and society. As a result, those aforementioned objectives will be successfully achieved in the moment when Islamic rules are fully implemented in all aspects of life. Therefore, it is necessary to continuously educate the public regarding the importance of implementing Islamic rules in all aspects of life, including in the aspect of education.

In their history, Muslim people proved themselves to have reached the highest degree of development in the word. Yet, this is not the case anymore. Muslim people all over the world, including the Acehnese, are in backwardness in many aspects of life, such as in science, technology, economy, politics, and education. Islamic education is seen to play its significant role in solving the problem, especially in Aceh region, where Islamic shari’ah is officially being applied. In this case, there are four new paradigms to be developed in Islamic education, there are al-tahwid, al’dl, al-hurriyyah, and al-mas’uliyyah. It is hoped that these paradigms are capable of solving both the Acehnese and the Muslim problems all over the world.

The moderation of Islamic education has given birth to a great civilization with an extraordinary spectrum that astonishes the world. The rules of the value of Islamic teachings that display moderation in its most beautiful format have made it very easily accepted by every human layer. Moderation in Islam has given a "guarantee" of eternal space to the teachings of this religion until the end of time. The main constancy and flexibility in the branch of Islamic teachings, makes it always able to adapt to any situation in all times and times "shalehun li kulli era wa makan". Strict basic teachings (tsawabit) and flexible branches (murunah) have provided such a wide space for the existence of ijtihad in Islam that we can be sure that this teaching has not experienced chaos. This moderation of Islam that is "built in" God promises to make this religion superior to any religion, and to any ideology produced by humans.Islam strongly opposes the anti-moderation attitude or rather extremism (ghuluw) in any form. Ghuluw's attitude will cause negative impacts and minus excesses for individuals, families, communities, countries, and the world. Extreme attitude in religion will also have a negative impact on religion itself and will cause disasters outside the religion. Extremism (ghuluwism) will cause the-religion of-Islam to be the accused party of-the emergence of harmony among local and international communities.

Still, it requires reconstruction, reconciliation, and reorientation so that Islamic education can make a significant contribution to the achievement of the take-off stage. In this paper, the author tries to offer several solutive arguments as well as to become a plan for Islamic education. First, it needs a review of the Islamic education system that is currently running while still promoting the spirit of Islamic teachings. The vision is manifest in the form of an attempt to re-dialogue religious texts against every reality that occurs. Second, prepare more mature and quality human resources armed with comprehensive capabilities. Third, reaffirming the role of all elements in education, namely, individuals, families, communities, educational institutions, and the state. Fourth, to unite Islamic spirituality with science and technology as a strong basis for increasingly pressing challenges, Islamic intellectual tradition, is a hierarchy and interconnection between various scientific disciplines that enable the realization of unity (oneness) in diversity, not just in the realm of faith and religious experience, but also in the world of knowledge.

Being  Educator  is an honour profession in Islam. It is an essensial factor in the education system. Thus a dignity  and an authority of this profession have to be maintained by the educators. The way to keep the honour of this profession can be done by conducting  ethical codes as a guidence to conduct activities as the educators. In a modern era, an educator ethic has been formulated. However, it shows unoptimal to keep the educators’ dignity. Thus, a solution is needed to solve the problem. Part of the solution  from Islamic education scholars during Islamic education hystory is the genuin thinking of those scholars. They have formulated the educator’s ethics codes. From their thinking and ideas, there are three ethic codes that can be understood: The First:  related to the obligation to have a good intention as the educator by improving a quality of  “taqwa” to Allah SWT because teaching is a worship. The second:  the educators have to keep their  profession by improving the personality with a good character (Akhlak). The third,  keep improving the educators’ competences and professionalism.
