The interior design of the Petra Christian University Business and Technology Incubator aims to provide a forum for the people of East Java, especially start-up companies, students, lecturers and the outside community to start their start-ups and to develop the creative economy in East Java. The current interior of IBT Petra still uses former classrooms. So that it still does not accommodate the activities and needs of its users to work optimally and creatively. In order to solve the problem formulation, the Design Thinking 101 method is used, which consists of 3 main stages, namely Understand (Collecting and Analyzing Data), Explore (Looking for ideas for problem solving) and Materialize (Testing and developing designs). Then an IBT interior design was produced with the concept of Entrepreneur's Dream, which applies the vision, mission and goals of a startup, namely innovative, grow, caring, global into its interior design that can help realize the vision and mission. The resulting scope includes creative co-working space, exhibition space, store, office, event space, makerspace and café.

Digital start-up is one part of the creative economy that is currently growing rapidly in Malang town. Looking at this rapidly changing environment in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, it is important for digital start-ups to improve dynamic capabilities. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of design thinking and entrepreneurial orientation on dynamic digital start-up capabilities. A total of 100 start-up actors have been selected as research samples. Quantitative data collected through questionnaires were analyzed using PLS analysis. The results showed that both design thinking and market orientation had a great influence on dynamic digital start-up capabilities. The strongest factor in the design thinking is the emphatize process so that the ability of start-ups to feel the environment and understand customer needs and market dynamics better than competitors. While the strongest factor in entrepreneurship is the courage to act to achieve goals so that start-ups are able to face market competition. Suggestions for further research is need to focus on two weaknesses factors, there are, the process of ideas in conducting design thinking and the lack of initiative in initiating innovative actions, because the innovation today is urgently needed to win the market competition.

<p>Surakarta City is designated as National Activity Center (PKN) on the National Spatial Plan (RTRWN) in the development of the creative economy sector. The determination is reinforced by Bekraf Developer Day 2017 and the Economic Census of the Central Bureau of Statistics which shows that Surakarta has more than 1250 creative workers. 65.75% of them have no place to work, so they do their work at home and or cafe. Problems that arise are how to design facilities and comfortable workspace so that the creative workers can make presentations and discussions with colleagues without being disturbed by the noise of other cafe visitors, or by family activities at home. In order to connect between start-up and creative workers, and to create a comfortable workspace to improve productivity and creativity of its users, is required collaborative working space (office) for creative industry workers and start-up in Surakarta City. The design of collaborative working space is done by collecting primary and secondary data through interviews, observation, precedent study, book literature study, local regulations, articles, and news. The data sets are then analyzed and synthesized to produce the concept of the space character criteria and the concept of the shape and appearance of the space which is then transformed into a collaborative working space design that supports the productivity and creativity of its users in Surakarta.</p>

The E-Commerce progress during the Covid-19 pandemic, has had an impact on the emergence of many startup companies such as Tokopedia, Gojek, Traveloka, and Bukalapak. There are legal problems caused by the emergence of these start-ups. One of the serious problems it causes is maintaining consumer privacy from start-up companies. A large number of applications are used, making it easier for companies to obtain their consumers' data. This raises the possibility of leakage of consumer personal data, the possibility that will arise needs to be considered regarding the guarantee of transaction security and privacy, namely the protection of consumer personal data which can cause problems in the future if data leaks occur. The discussion in this article is how the problems with consumer personal data in start-up companies are and how important the Law on personal data protection is as an effort to protect consumer personal data for start-up companies. However, Indonesia still does not have a law that specifically regulates the protection of personal data, where this law is urgently needed at this time as a legal umbrella for the people of Indonesia.

This study is based on the projects held in a Design Thinking Graduate class in 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 Fall Semesters, in an   industrial design department. Based on the hypothesis that design thinking interventions to entrepreneurship projects will help their development, graduate students were paired with technology start-ups. The aim of the project is to intervene the project development process of technology start-ups with a human centred perspective by the help of the tools of design thinking approach, develop ideas for solving existing problems, also pin out new problems that are not classified as problems by the companies yet. Following this idea, students were required to design and conduct their own process by the help of design thinking approach and related methods. The number of the projects held during the process was 34 and 4 of them will be explained in detail in this paper. This study is significant in terms of investigating how design thinking affects start-up culture as a catalyst, in which phase/s of the projects design thinking is more relevant and effective, how design thinking helps find solutions to missing and premature aspects of entrepreneurship projects.

The start-up has received considerable attention in the last few years. While the National Research Council of Canada has generated many start-ups over its 88-year history, the creation of a formal entrepreneurship programme in the mid-1990s dramatically accelerated the pace at which they were created. Many factors come into play in the decision to select an appropriate commercialization vehicle. While the strength and scale of the business opportunity are key factors, as are the people involved and the status of the intellectual property, there are many other internal and external factors that must be taken into consideration. This article explores these factors and discusses the risks and benefits of the start-up as a commercialization vehicle.

Business accelerators are playing a key role in facilitating the process of new venture creation. Start-ups generally look for the best accelerators to make their long journey short. Media start-ups also look for a supportive mechanism to fasten their start-up experience. In this process, one of the main issues is to shorten their learning curve which is possible by use of start-up accelerators. Therefore, this chapter deals with the idea that which factors are important in this regard. To do so, first, a brief review of the support mechanisms is presented, and it is discussed that how start-up accelerators shorten the learning curve of the start-ups. Then, five media start-ups which were created in accelerators are studied. All of the cases were established after 2014, since the accelerators started working from the same year. According to the findings, there are mainly six reasons for shortening of the learning curve by start-up accelerators, including: (1) Short creation period, (2) Seminars and courses, (3) Co-working space, (4) Divided teams, (5) Cohort peers, and (6) Mentorship.
