ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to find out the effect of the using of flash cards towards student’s speaking ability in STBA Pertiwi, Cileungsi. The researchers hope that this research can give advantages to all of lecturers and students in doing the learning process, especially in English speaking ability. The method used in this research is experiment method using two groups of classes. One class as experiment class, where the researchers are giving the materials using flash cards. While the other class is control class, where the materials are given with lecturing method. Based on the result of the data analysis, it can be concluded that the average score for English speaking ability in control class is 64,7. The median is 61.5. The modus is 57,5. The variance is 258, 6256. And the standard deviation is 16,082. In the other hand, the average score for English speaking ability in experiment class is 70,5. The median is 71,21. The modus is 85,056. The variance is 229, 128. And the standard deviation is 15,14. It is also obtained that the equation of Total Variance is 15,62. And the TObserved is 1,69 and the T table is 1,667. So that Tobserved >Ttable; 1,69>1,667 that is significant. It can be concluded that there is positive and significant effect of using of flash cards towards student’s speaking ability in STBA Pertiwi, Cileungsi.

The purpose of the study was to know the increase of English speaking using video project.  Moreover, the covid-19 pandemic era needs a learning process that can give appropriate facility for online learning. The method of study used one-group experimental. The participant was 25 students that are taken randomly. Data analysis used paired sample t-test. The results showed that there was an increase in the ability to speak English. From each component of the ability to speak English, the average score also increased. This has implications for understanding the concept of using facilities or appropriate learning methods. The concept of learning and teaching management must be by the backgrounds and needs of students.

This research aims at analyzing (1) the effect of vendor’s ability, benevolence, and integrity variables toward e-commerce customers’ trust in UBM; (2) the effect of vendor’s ability, benevolence, and integrity variables toward the level of e-commerce customers’ participation in Indonesia; and (3) the effect of trust variable toward level of e-commerce customers participation in UBM. This research makes use of UBM e-commerce users as research samples while using Likert scale questionnaire for data collection. Furthermore, the questionnaires are sent to as many as 200 respondents. For data analysis method, Structural Equation Model was used. Out of three predictor variables (ability, benevolence, and integrity), it is only vendor’s integrity that has a positive and significant effect on customers’ trust. On the other hand, it is only vendor’s integrity and customer’s trust that have a positive and significant effect on e-commerce customers’ participation in UBM. Historically, the American school has been regarded as an essential vehicle by which the child can prepare for adult success. Despite substantial theoretical argument that childhood learning can both prepare children for later schooling and also be an interesting process in itself, the schools, led more often by “people-activists” rather than “scholar-activists,” have tended on the one hand to be uninteresting or on the other hand to lack depth and substance. The paper argues that every child has a right to an interesting school and goes on to propose that, in its best sense, an interesting school is a place which respects the child's interest in a learning process that is deep and filled with intellectual and emotional substance.

Article content a research result about effectiveness of oral drill method to practice speaking ability of Japanese in elementary class.  This is an experiment research to Japanese course’s student in elementary class in BLCI (British Language Course of Indonesia) Bandung at 2006 year.  Experiment research is according to the condition of learning Japanese to the experiment class with oral drill method, in the other hand to the experiment class in using another method which is eklektik method that combine translating method and grammar method. Research data was got from result of the final test from the experiment class an control class.  From the process result and analize data can be know that the average score of the student’s speaking ability in experiment class is bigger than the average score of the student’s speaking ability in control class.

The aim of this study to analyze students' English speaking skills in conducting taking orders procedure in restaurants.  This study is conducted in order to overcome the problems encountered by the students in speaking activities in taking orders. To measure the ability of students in speaking English in taking orders, the researchers observed the procedures that the students did not perform and measure the students’ competence of English language. Samples of this study are the fourth semester students in Hospitality courses Diploma Degree of Mataram Tourism Institute in Academic Year 2018/2019. The results of this study indicated that the level of completeness of the procedure in taking student orders in STP Mataram is in average. More than 50% students have conducted the appropriate procedure when taking orders in using English. From the result of data analysis in measuring the students’ competence in speaking English, the mean score is 78.90 with standard deviation is 12.14. From the result, it is converted and get score 3.1. The score showed that the ability of English students from 40 students in STP Mataram classified as Good Criteria.

Within the conduct of the study, the research adopted the TAM (Technology Acceptance) theory as the basis for identifying the factors that influence the customers to perform transactions through online sites. Furthermore, within the study as well the researcher would like to adopt the TPB (Theory Planned Behaviour) as the support of TAM theory in predicting the online consumer behaviours within the online sites. On the other hand, in the data analysis the researcher has run by using the PLS 3.0. In the same time, survey by means of questionnaire distribution carried out toward the respondents who used to perform transactions through online sites. Finally,  this research found that visualization, online review and trust have positive impact on purchase intention smartphone of consumer  through You Tube Channel

This research was aimed at finding how Bimanese vowels interfere Bimanese students in speaking English. The techniques of collecting data were observation and video. The data was collected during the research subject did the presentation in the class. The data analysis used qualitative descriptive. Based on the finding, it’s found there were positive and negative transfers. In positive transfer the Bimanese vowels had similar sound in English so the students from Bima were easy to pronounce the words for example, in vowel /a/ in a word argument, associate, after, discuss, /i/ in a word this, into, is, mean, /u/ in a word opportunity, role, argument, /e/ in a word recognize, based, object, /o/ in a word order, of, associate. In negative transfer because of Bimanese have a strong accent, stress and intonation so in some words like /a/, /i/, /u/, /e/ and /o/ when they speak some words in English they keep making a mistake for example the word  “recognize” (rɛkɔgnɑīz) was pronounce “rɛkɔgnɑīsɛd” by a Bimanese student, the word “procedure” (prәʃīdɛr) was pronounce “prɔʃɛdɛrʊl” by Bimanese student, the word “different” (dīfrәnt) was pronounce “difɛrɛn” by Bimanese student, and the word “family” (fӕmәlī) was pronounce “fɛmili” by Bimanese student. The Bimanese vowel could give interference to the Bimanese students during learning process because they still familiar with their language so in some words they keep make a mistake.

Abstrak Petani dalam memanfaatkan lahan pertanian selalu berhadapan dengan ketidakpastian. Di sisi lain petani juga harus mempertimbangkan berbagai jenis komoditi yang akan diusahakan agar tidak gagal panen. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan: (1) mengindentifikasi jenis ketidakpastian yang sering dihadapi petani  dalam  memanfaatkan lahan pertanian; dan  (2) menganalisis pengaruh ketidakpastian terhadap pertimbangan petani dalam menentukan jenis komoditi yang akan diusahakan. Data yang dikumpulkan terdiri dari data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer diperoleh dari hasil wawancara dengan petani, sedangkan data sekunder dari beberapa instansi terkait. Pengukuran ketidakpastian dilakukan menggunakan metode skala likerts. Analisis data di lakukan secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menemukan adanya keragaman jenis  ketidakpastian yang selalu dihadapi petani dalam pemanfaatan lahan pertanian dan ketidakpastian tersebut  telah dijadikan dasar oleh petani untuk mempertimbangan jenis komoditi yang akan diusahakan.Abstract Farmers in utilizing agricultural land always faced with uncertainty. On the other hand, farmers should also consider various types of commodities which will be endeavored that no crop failure.  Based on the above, the research is conducted with the objectives: (1) to identify the kinds of uncertainties often faced by farmers in utilizing agricultural land for farming activities; (2) to analyzes the influence of uncertainty on the consideration of farmers in determining the type of commodity to be cultivated. The data collected consist of primary data and secondary data. Primary data was obtained from interview with farmer while secondary data from several related institutions. Measurement of uncertainty is done using likerts scale method. Data analysis is done descriptively qualitative. The results of the study found that the diversity of types of uncertainty often faced by farmers in agricultural land use and the uncertainty has been used as a basis by farmers to consider the types of commodities to be cultivated.

This study is class action research conducted at class A of 9th grade in SMPN 1 Prambon, Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Based on preliminary study, students still found some difficulties to solve the problem about Electrical  Series. This was proven from their average score of test on this topic that is 73,19, which is still lower than KKM score that is 76. This research aimed to analyze the effect of using PENCILS media on increasing students’ understanding about Electrial Series topic. PENCILS media is software application in computer. The analysis result in the first cycle, from 36 students, 21 of them had score lower than KKM. In the second cycle, learning process used PENCILS as learning media to facilitate students’ difficulty. The result of analysis data in the second cylce showed that only 6 students had score lower than KKM and the average score of test was 77,37. The third cycle was conducted to ensure that the score obtained is stable. Based on the result of data analysis in the last cycle indicated that only 3 students had score lower than KKM and the average score of test was 78,75. In conclusion, the PENCILS media can be effectively used to improve students’ understanding on the topic of Electrical Series.

Background Brazil is a low- to medium-income country and has the second largest pet food market in the world with 8% of world pet food consumption. The lowest-income social class spends around 17% of their domestic budget on pet food and other items related to pets. Consumers are frequently misled by advertising as there is no precise information about the main sources of protein, carbohydrates and fat in the labels, and the Brazilian pet food industry can legally claim that their products contain certain items like salmon or beef even if they use just a flavoring compound. Methods The stable isotope methodology compares the stable isotope ratios of carbon (13C/12C) and nitrogen (15N/14N) between source and product. The 13C/12C ratio of a specific product (e.g., dog food) reveals the proportions of C4 (maize) and C3 (soybean, rice and wheat) plants in that product and the 15N/14N ratio reveals the proportion of the compounds derived from animals. With this isotopic data, we used MixSIAR, a Bayesian stable isotope-mixing model, to estimate the proportion of maize, grains, poultry and beef in dog food. Results The δ13C values of dry dog food ranged from −24.2‰ to −12.8‰, with an average (± standard-deviation) of −17.1‰ ± 2.8‰. The δ13C values of wet pet food ranged from −25.4‰ to −16.9‰, with an average (± standard-deviation) of −21.2‰ ± 2.4‰, which was significantly lower (p < 0.01). The δ15N values of the dry and wet food ranged from 1.7‰ to 4.2‰, and from 0.5‰ to 5.5‰, respectively. The average δ15N values of dry food (2.9‰ ± 0.5‰) was not higher than the wet food (2.6‰ ± 1.3‰) (p > 0.01). The output of the MixSIAR showed a low proportion of bovine products in dry dog food samples. On the other hand, poultry was obviously the dominant ingredient present in most of the samples. Maize was the second dominant ingredient. Wet and dry dog food showed similar isotopic analysis results. The only difference was a lower proportion of maize and higher proportion of grains in wet dog food. Discussion The main finding is that dog food in Brazil is mostly made of approximately 60% (ranging from 32% to 86%) animal-based and 40% (ranging from 14% to 67%) plant-based products. Poultry and maize are the main ingredients. Poultry is added as a by-product or meal, which avoids competition between dogs and humans for meat products, while they can compete for maize. On the other hand, a large proportion of plant-based products in dog food decreases the energy and environmental footprint, since plant-based food products tend to be less harmful compared to animal-based products. Labels can mislead consumers by showing pictures of items that are not necessarily part of the product composition and by not showing the detailed information on the proportion of each ingredient. This information would allow customers to make their own choices considering their pet’s nutrition, the competition between animals and humans for resources and environmental sustainability.
