The article discusses the changes of the psycho-physiological pecularities of psychological safety system of human activity in unfavourable socio-civil, economical development circumstances of the 21-st century. The pecularities of the changes in negative psychological states, as well as the functional capabilities of a person in unfavourable living circumstances are revealed. The article offers a system for organising psychological work. The mastery of the latter ensures high reliability of person’s general and mental health in different life situations.

The current COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant effects on the mental health of health personnel, which has emphasized the need to protect them, for this, Psychological Safety is a useful concept that needs to be contextualized in health emergency situations. Objective: to identify the personological configurations that participate in the conformation of the Psychological Safety of the subjects who work in the hospital high-risk area during the health emergency due to Covid-19. The personological approach is used from the configurational perspective in a multiple case study where Grounded Theory and Analytical Induction were applied. As results, the concepts of three states of Psychological Safety were enunciated. It is concluded that the personological perspective of Psychological Safety may be relevant for the design of prevention strategies at the organizational level during the health emergency. Along with this, it is substantiated that the concept of psychological safety for medical staff remains incomplete at the individual level. The analysis was performed model of organizational behavior allowed to assess the process of transformation from one state to another, in relation to the health emergency and how this change may affect the mental and psychosocial health of the subject, the results of the working group and the goals of the organization. It is emphasized that the retention of medical personnel working in high-risk areas, psychological safety should be a central goal in organizational management processes, especially during the current COVID-19 emergency, to which this study helps personal vision as a starting point for mental health prevention. and psychosocial health.

Objective: Psychological safety is increasingly recognised as central to mental health, wellbeing and post-traumatic growth. To date, there is no psychometrically supported measure of psychological safety combining psychological, physiological and social components. The current research aimed to develop and establish the neuroception of psychological safety scale (NPSS), informed by Polyvagal Theory. Method: The study comprised of three stages: (1) item generation, (2) item reduction, and (3) assessment of factor structure and internal consistency. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis was conducted from two samples who completed a survey online (exploratory n = 342, confirmatory n = 455). Results: Initially, 107 items were generated. Item reduction and exploratory factor analysis resulted in a 29-item NPSS with subscales of compassion, social engagement and body sensations. The NPSS was found to have a consistent factor structure and internal consistency. Conclusion: The NPSS is a novel measure of psychological safety which can be used across a range of health and social care settings. This research provides a platform for further work to support and enhance understandings of the science of safety through the measurement of psychological, relational and physiological components of safety. The NPSS will help shape new approaches to evaluating trauma treatments, relational issues and mental health concerns. Research to establish the convergent, discriminant and concurrent validity of the NPSS and to explore its use with diverse community and clinical populations is underway.

This study aimed to investigate the factor structure of the Mental Health Continuum–Short Form (MHC-SF) in the postpartum context using a single-factor model, a correlated three-factor model, and a bifactor model. The reliability and validity of the MHC-SF were also examined. The total sample consisted of 882 postpartum Portuguese women. Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the bifactor model yielded a significantly better fit to the data than the other models. The unidimensionality strength indices (explained common variance = .76, percentage of uncontaminated correlations = .69) and the ω H values supported the general factor of positive mental health, which accounted for 91.5% of the reliable variance in the total score. Additionally, the MHC-SF showed high reliability (ω = .96), and its total and subscale scores were significantly correlated with other measures related to mental health. The results of this study suggest a strong general factor of positive mental health and support the use of its total score in this context.

Both clinicians and researchers agree on the value of self-report in child mental health assessment. The pictorial format of the computerized Dominic Interactive is an addition to the existing questionnaires, specifically concerning young children. Although prior studies on the Dominic Interactive reported favorable psychometric properties, the reliability was not always satisfactory for every scale, and no studies confirmed the proposed DSM-IV factor structure of the Dominic Interactive. This study examines these two psychometric aspects using a sample of 1,504 Dutch primary-school children aged 6–13 years. α was computed and compared with ω, an alternative index of reliability. CFA was conducted as was the measurement invariance at a configural, scalar, and metric level across both age and sex. The results showed that ω values were above .80, indicating good to high reliability for all scales. The DSM-IV factor structure was confirmed and proved to be identical across age groups and among both boys and girls in this sample. These findings lay the foundation for the meaningful use of the norms needed in clinical practice. They also contribute to the increasing value of the Dominic Interactive as a self-report instrument in child mental health screening.

Purpose Existing research regarding the value of school education focuses primarily on the effects of educational level on core task performance after graduation. However, it is worth noting that knowledge, skills and abilities are not the only individual gains from school education. For part-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) students, the impact of MBA education on their real-time work during their two-year or so study journey has not been reported. This study aims to provide theoretical reasoning and empirical insights to clarify the impact of psychological safety at school on psychological capital (PsyCap) at work for part-time MBA students and examines the moderating role of constructive controversy at school in this relationship. Design/methodology/approach A survey of 286 part-time MBA students was conducted in a university located in Beijing to address the theoretical issue. Findings Students’ psychological safety at school is positively related to PsyCap at work. Constructive controversy at school acts as a positive moderator in the relationship between psychological safety at school and PsyCap at work. Originality/value This study establishes a link between the school and the workplace. It explores the relationship between an individual’s psychological states at school and at work and contributes to the literature on human resources and management education. Furthermore, the findings prove that students not only gain knowledge, skills and abilities from education but also positive psychological states, such as psychological safety.

Mental health describe our social, emotional, and psychological states, all wrapped up into one. Someone who experiences “good” mental health, therefore, has found a balance in his or her social, emotional, and psychological areas of life. Term “behavioral health” is being used incorrectly refer to mental illness. We explore the nature of psychology. We outline the different schools of thought and method of inquiry in psychology. Psychologists provide vital mental and behavioral health services in primary care. They identify and modify behaviors to promote individuals’ health and wellness across the lifespan. A significant and growing number of psychologists (e.g., in such areas as health, clinical, counseling, family, and rehabilitation psychology) provide inter professional, team-based care in pediatric, adult, and family-oriented primary care settings in both the public and private sectors. This paper tries to highlight the role of psychology in mental health and practically utilities of psychology in present scenario of mental health.

This article examines examines institutional communication, which performs the main function in the process of socialization of the individual in society. Considering that the situation when a person becomes a member of only a certain group is not found practically , it is necessary to analyze the position of the individual relative to different groups, as well as its functional capabilities in each group. All social and practical issues related to communication are relevant and all institutional relations depend on language communication. Therefore, it is this communication that organizes society and allows a person to live and develop in it, bringing their behavior in line with the actions and behavior of others. This defines various aspects and situational forms of relationship research. Without proper development of forms of communication, it is almost impossible to develop such spheres of human activity as education, education, health, science, art, politics, ideology. When we say that society is divided into various social institutions, we pay great attention to understanding institutional relations. We are reviewing the opinions of scientists who have studied social institutions extensively.

The COVID-19 pandemic is continuing to have long-term and global effects that the vaccine may not ease. Children and adolescents endured unprecedented periods of loneliness, social isolation, financial stressors, in-home conflicts, changes in living circumstances, and variable access to healthcare, resulting in increased mental health sequelae. Timely recognition of students’ anxiety, depression, and disruptive behaviors will allow appropriate interventions to de-escalate these feelings and prevent suicidal ideations and attempts. As youth return to school, their mental health needs will not subside. School nurses and the multidisciplinary team have a vital role in impacting this population’s already surging increase of mental and behavioral health disorders.

This study was conducted to assess prevalence of occupational hazards and illnesses among mental health Nurses in Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Calabar, Cross River State. Three research questions were raised and one hypothesis formulated to direct the course of the study. The study adopted cross-sectional descriptive survey design to study 87 mental health nurses who were selected from the Hospital using stratified random sampling technique. Instrument for data collection was a self-structured questionnaire designed in consonance with the study’s objectives. The validity of the instrument was ensured and high reliability coefficient was obtained for the respective variables of the study. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics while hypothesis was tested using Chi-square statistics significant at 0.05. Findings of the study revealed that excessive workload, assaults and violence were the major hazards nurses were exposed to, while occupational illnesses including body pains, stress/psychosocial problems, and back pain were reported among the nurses. Nurses were found to exhibit good practice of prevention of occupational hazard, and there was a statistically significant relationship between years of work experience and practice of prevention of occupational hazard among Nurses in the Hospital. Prominent factors found associated with occupational hazard were; insufficient safety gadgets and equipment in the Hospital, long working hours, lack of adequate safety training, excessive workload, and inadequate staff strength in the Hospital. Based on these findings, it was recommended that government should embark on recruitment of more Nurses to reduce work load and enhance compliance to infection control practices in the Hospital.

Examining military personnel’s psychological states is an effective way to prevent negative mental health consequences during their deployment in a war zone. The present study identifies changes in the psychological states of military personnel (n = 192) during a 6-month deployment in a war zone in eastern Ukraine. The results confirmed both of our proposed hypotheses. First, with regard to time limits on military personnel’s deployment on the front lines in eastern Ukraine on the basis of examined psychological states, the estimated recommended deployment duration was three months. Second, we found significant differences in the dynamics of the psychological states of service members with versus without previous deployment experience. The results also substantiate that military personnel’s psychological states should be monitored during deployment in order to prevent negative mental health consequences and to ensure that military units successfully accomplish their tasks. Una de las formas más eficaces para prevenir las consecuencias negativas del despliegue en la zona militar para la salud mental de los militares es diagnosticar su estado psicológico. En el presente estudio se determinan las particularidades de los cambios en el estado psicológico de los militares (n = 192) durante el despliegue de seis meses en la zona militar en el este de Ucrania. Los resultados obtenidos confirmaron ambas hipótesis formuladas: en cuanto a la posibilidad de determinar, sobre la base del diagnóstico del estado psicológico, el plazo recomendado para el despliegue de los militares en la línea de demarcación en el este de Ucrania, que es de tres meses. Así como también sobre las posibles diferencias significativas en la dinámica del estado psicológico de los militares que tienen y no tienen experiencia en el despliegue. Asimismo, se argumenta la necesidad de monitorear el estado psicológico de los militares durante el despliegue con el propósito de prevenir oportunamente las consecuencias negativas para su salud mental y para la ejecución exitosa de las tareas de la subunidad militar.
