Islam is a holistic religion that deals with every aspect of life according to human nature where it satisfies human preferences, needs, traits, desires, desires, feelings, souls and thoughts. Allah SWT created human beings who are present with a soul, emotion, care, and love for something beautiful. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the methodological prescriptions of the development of Islamic economic theory in dealing with innate human weaknesses. This study uses a qualitative-inductive approach. Data were collected using literature study techniques and documentation studies. Secondary data source used. Then, the data were analyzed using qualitative data analysis approaches and techniques. Based on the discussion, the results of the research can be concluded as follows: 1) The elimination of strong, centralized and integrated moral control over churches and institutions that oppress them, especially the paradigm of religious judgment in Western economic thought (such as human economic behavior) is incapable of understanding moral rules leading to the current crisis. Kahneman began studying psychology and behavioral economics. By showing that psychological motivation determines people's behavior, and this motivation is important for economic phenomena. The main point here is the discovery of law, which regulates human economic behavior through moral control imposed by primitive Islamic sources, and has become the main method dictated by the automatic control system of classical Islamic sources founded some 1400 years ago. Therefore, the essence of capitalism with moral control is adopting from Islam. 2) In Islam, all actions are based on the fact that the Qur'an and the Sunnah divide into two areas of rules and moral values, the first is to develop the rational ability to understand moral propositions and prescribed rules, and use them in negotiations. Ability to negotiate and face decisions. Second, from the depths of the individual (nafs) to the depths of the universe, organize and determine the area of ??human observation, intelligence, and reason.

In fact, the Islamic economy is a framework that has been extracted from the axiomatic scripture revealed by Allah Almighty S.W.T (The Holy Quran) and religious practices established by Muhammad SAW (Sunnah) to study contemporary economic phenomenon as per Islamic commercial jurisprudence confronting issues like employment, treatment of property, money, production and distribution, taxes, loans, interest (Riba) stability of prices, equitable distribution, growth rate, productivity, consumption of goods and services etc. that make sure maximum benefit (Falah) in a society or at large to the humanity (Ummah). The Islamic economy is not really a new discourse on whether its roots have evolved since the early days of Islamic civilization. Discussions on economic issues from an Islamic perspective started early and have flourished in the Islamic golden age since. However, economic issues are mainly solved by different branches and schools of economics. This raises a wide variety of methodological issues and several problems have been central to methodological reflection concerning economics. However, not much research attempts have been done to survey the origin of Islamic economic thought and portray its evolution towards becoming a discipline in contemporary times with its own body of knowledge and methodology. Therefore, this study is likely to fill this gap and chart the future direction of the discipline will also be highlighted with some evaluations of the current state of the arts.

Zakat is one of principal worship requiring every individual (<em>mukallaf</em>) with considerable property to spend some of the wealth for zakat under several conditions applied within. On the other hand, tax is an obligation assigned to taxpayers and should be deposited into the state based on policies applied, with no direct return as reward, for financing the national general expense. In their development, both zakat and tax had quite attention from Islamic economic thought. Nevertheless, we, at first, wanted to identify the principles of zakat and tax at the time of Rasulullah SAW. Therefore, this study referred to normative research. The primary data was collected through library/document research and the secondary one was collected through literature review by inventorying and collecting textbooks and other documents related to the studied issue.

Ali Bin Abi Talib once said that children should be educated in accordance with the  development of the times. The Ali bin Abi Talib’s statement could be considered as his attention more to the development of human civilization. For that reason, there should be studies focused on the role of educational institutions in facing the challenges of the times. On this stand, the writer raises the existence of pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) for being considered to have been able to survive amid the onslaught of civilization increasingly obscuring cultural identity. In addition, this study also aims to identify and discuss the role of pesantren in the modern era. This is a literature study using a descriptive and exploratory approach. It can be concluded that pesantren are non-formal Islamic educational institutions. Pesantren have permanent and distictive methods and learning models. The purpose of pesantren education is the same as Islamic education in general, instilling a sense of virtue, familiarizing themselves with courtesy, preparing for a holy, sincere and honest life entirely. Pesantren could be seen from three aspects: (a) pesantren that are seen from facilities and infrastructures, (b) pesantren that are seen from disciplines taught, and (c) pesantren that are seen from the fields of knowledge.

Economic historians usually have to explain to their economist colleagues the difference between economic history, which focuses on facts, and history of economic thought, which focuses on ideas. Our colleagues in finance departments, typically fascinated by episodes in financial history treated by economic historians, are bound to be disappointed in the lack of attention given to the development of ideas in finance by historians of economic thought. Geoffrey Poitras, a professor of finance at Simon Fraser University, makes a valiant effort to remedy these oversights in his collection of vignettes that highlight the sophistication of financial instruments and analysts of financial markets well before the time of Adam Smith. Starting in 1478 with the publication of the Treviso Arithmetic, a typical textbook of commercial arithmetic for Italian merchants, and ending with brief snippets from the Wealth of Nations, Poitras treats the reader to a fascinating potpourri of excerpts from various manuals, brief biographies of pioneers in financial analysis, and historical discursions on foreign-exchange and stock markets.
