The study entitled Language Style in the Advertisements Broadcast in Cassanova Bali Radio are aimed to identify the types of language styles used and to analyze the linguistic features that are applied in Cassanova Bali radio advertisements. The data of this study was taken from six advertisement scripts on Cassanova Bali radio that broadcast from August 1st until August 30th 2017. These data were collected by using documentation method and analyzed by using qualitative method based on the theory proposed by Holmes (1992) and Grey (2008). After analyzing the data, vernacular language is the most common language style used by Cassanova Bali radio and found in five advertisements (17 sentences), meanwhile the standard language is rarely used by Cassanova Bali radio and only found in one advertisement (3 sentences). It was also found that Cassanova Bali radio used five linguistic features to attract more consumers and the most common feature is familiar language (24 words), followed by use of imperative (15 words), hyperbole (6 words), repetition (3 words) and simple vocabulary (3 words).

Surakarta.</strong></p><p> </p><p>               A best-seller novel entitled <em>"A Thousand Splendid Suns"</em> by Khaled Hosseini translated by M. Nugrahani Berliani comes up with an interesting language use. It can be seen from the content that consists of a great number of language styles, and one of them is repetition that becomes the characteristic of this novel writer. This research aimed to (1) describe and identify the types of repetition language style in the novel A Thousand Splendid Suns, (2) describe the translation techniques used in the novel A Thousand Splendid Suns, and (3) describe the value and impact of the technique used in this study in term of accuracy and acceptability.</p><p>               This research used descriptive qualitative method and focused to a single case. The data which were in the form of repetition language style in this study were obtained from the novel A Thousand Splendid Suns and its translations. Further, the data in the form of informant were gathered from the raters who assessed the accuracy and acceptability of the translation. The selected sampling technique was purposive sampling (theoretical based-sampling).  The data then were collected using document analysis and focus group discussion.</p><p>               The conclusion of this study is the implementation of 10 translation techniques had a positive impact to the accuraracy and acceptability of its translation. The techniques giving positive impact in its translation in term of the accuracy and acceptability are established equivalence, generalization, transposition, amplification, pure borrowing, variation and particularization. Meanwhile, the techniques giving negative impact towards its translation in term of accuracy and acceptability are reduction, modulation, and discursive creation.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p><strong>Keywords: Translation of Language Style, Repetition, <em>A Thousand Splendid Suns</em>, Stylistics</strong></p>

The focus of the problem in this study is motivated by the rise of the graffiti phenomenon which contains moral messages to be conveyed by graffiti artists in East Kalimantan, especially in Balikpapan City, Samarinda City, Bontang City, and Kutai Kartanegara District. The purpose of this study was to determine the moral message conveyed in the use of language styles on graffiti in East Kalimantan. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with a sociolinguistic approach. Research data in the form of written text from graffiti data sources in East Kalimantan. Data collection techniques using the stages of observation, study documentation, and interviews. Research instruments in the form of cellphones, stationery, notebooks, and moral style indicator message tables in Graffiti Language. The results found an attachment between language style and moral messages to be conveyed by graffiti makers found 30 data. Research findings include: (1) Religious moral messages, with indicators of submission to God, prayer in earnest, requests for guidance in life, repentance to God, confession of wrongdoing for sin, gratitude, patience, and sincerity. (2) Social moral messages, with indicators relating to human values, mutual respect, mutual cooperation, tolerance, caring, solidarity, and integrity. (3) Individual moral messages, with indicators that include values ​​of obedience, humility, caution in acting, honesty, confidence, accuracy, and wisdom. The conclusion of the study found the use of conflicting language style to be the dominant language style used to express the taste, intention, and work of graffiti makers. Choice of language style in graffiti has a tendency to the style of irony, satire, and sarcasm. Moral messages in graffiti are often accompanied by pictures as illustrations and are implied so that it requires careful observation and in-depth understanding to find out the message to be conveyed by graffiti makers.

Abstrak: Karya sastra adalah sebuah ungkapan perasaan, ide, dan pemikiran dalam suatu gambaran konkret baik tertulis maupun tidak tertulis, salah satunya berupa sebuah lirik lagu. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan 3 album yaitu “My Way”, “Answer” dan “Negai E.P.” sebagai sumber data yang disinyalir sudah cukup mewakili karakteristik diksi dan gaya bahasa yang digunakan pada lirik lagu karya Touyama Mirei. Metode kualitatif deskriptif sebagai metode penelitian dalam penelitian ini. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, pada album “Answer”, “My Way”, dan “Negai E.P” terdapat 16 macam gaya bahasa. Pada album “Answer” ditemukan 13 macam gaya bahasa, pada album “My Way” ditemukan 9 macam gaya bahasa, pada mini-album “Negai E.P” ditemukan 3 macam gaya bahasa. Gaya bahasa yang paling banyak ditemukan dalam 3 album tersebut adalah gaya bahasa Metafora dan Repetisi. Adapun diksi yang sering muncul dan digunakan bersifat denotatif. Simpulan yang dapat diambil adalah gaya bahasa berupa metafora dan repetisi,  dan penggunaan diksi bersifat denotatif atau bermakna sebenarnya merupakan ciri khas atau style dari penyanyi sekaligus pengarang lagu Touyama Mirei.Kata kunci: Stilistika, Lirik Lagu, Diksi, Gaya Bahasa, Makna Abstract: Literary work is an expression of feelings, ideas, and thoughts in a concrete picture both written and unwritten, one of which is a song lyrics. This research was conducted using 3 albums namely "My Way", "Answer" and "Negai E.P." as a source of data that was allegedly sufficient to represent the characteristics of diction and language style used in song lyrics by Touyama Mirei. Descriptive qualitative method as a research method in this study. Based on the results of the analysis that has been done, it is concluded that 16 kinds of language styles can be found in the album "Answer", "My Way", and "Negai E.P". In the album "Answer" found 13 kinds of language styles, on the album "My Way" found 9 kinds of language styles, on the mini-album "Negai E.P" found 3 kinds of language styles. The style of language most commonly found in these 3 albums is the style of Metaphor and Repetition. The diction that often appears and is used is denotative. The conclusion that can be drawn is the style of language in the form of metaphors and repetitions and the use of diction which is denotative or meaningful is actually a characteristic or style of the singer and songwriter Touyama Mirei. As the user of communication especially in English, the speaker has to consider the interlocutor’s position in order to achieve good communication. Here, the speakers which include native and non-native English speakers must choose an appropriate language style for the different interlocutors to avoid social consequences. The purposes of this research were to analyze the use of language style of those speakers in The Ellen Show. Also, it focused on the differences and the similarities between those speakers. Last, it focused on the factors influencing the use of language style. The research used the qualitative method which focuses on content analysis. Here, it focused on three native speakers and three non-native speakers of English as the guests in The Ellen Show. The Ellen Show is a talk show program with a casual discussion that talks about a particular topic or issue which consists of a host, the guest(s) being interviewed, the home audience, and the studio audience from which the host might get some responses from.The findings revealed that the native English speakers used all types of language styles. Meanwhile, the non-native speakers used three types of language styles. Then, the similarities were that both speakers applied formal style, consultative style, and casual style in their utterances. However, the difference was the non-native English speakers did not apply frozen style and intimate style. Furthermore, those speakers used language style because it influenced the participant, the setting, the topic, and the function. Therefore, it is concluded that language styles were useful in English utterances either by native speakers or non-native English speakers.   The speaker has to consider the interlocutor’s position in order to achieve good communication. Youtube is one of the facilities of information on social media to air an advertisement. Youtube is visited by many people, especially teenagers. Many advertisements are aired on youtube, one of them is a beauty product advertisement. Beauty products are in high demand by Indonesian women, especially teenagers, because basically women always want to look beautiful. The use of language styles and impressions that we can catch on the beauty products advertisement is one of the things that influences consumers to be interested in buying it. The basis of this research begins with linguistics, namely stylistics. The purpose of this research is to describe more deeply, adequately, and comprehensively about climax language style, hyperbole language style, metaphorical language style and image on beauty products advertisements on youtube. The theory used in this research is stylistic theory. The method used in this research is qualitative method. Data collection techniques using documentation and observation. The data analysis technique used is descriptive data analysis techniques (processing, analyzing, and interpreting data). The results of the research found on the beauty products advertisement on youtube, amounting to 60 products include climax language style, hyperbole language style, metaphorical language style, and imagery (vision and touch). Conclusions and suggestions are given so that this research is useful for other researchers, advertisers, and the society.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan gaya bahasa dan citraan pada puisi “Engkau Salat dalam Hutan” dan puisi “Di Puncak Bukit Mangkoso” karya D. Zawawi Imron. Metode penelitian yang dipakai adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik pustaka dan catat. Analisis data dilakukan dengan identifikasi, interpretasi, analisis, dan pemberian kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian dan pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa stilistika dalam puisi “Engkau Salat dalam Hutan” dan puisi “Di Puncak Bukit Mangkoso” memiliki keunikan yang khas D. Zawawi Imrom. Hal tersebut merupakan wujud karakteristik estetis individualisasi penyair. Kekhasan tersebut antara lain ditunjukkan dalam pemakaian gaya bahasa dan citraan. Penggunaan gaya bahasa dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan bahasa figuratif atau bahasa kiasan. Penggunaan gaya bahasa tersebut menyebabkan sajak menjadi menarik perhatian, menimbulkan kesegaran, hidup, dan terutama menimbulkan kejelasan gambaran angan. Adapun bahasa figuratif yang dimanfaatkan penyair dalam puisi tersebut adalah bahasa figuratif personifikasi, anafora, simile, klimaks, dan repitisi. Penggunaan citraan yang dimanfaatkan penyair dalam puisi “Engkau Salat dalam Hutan” dan puisi “Di Puncak Bukit Mangkoso” adalah citraan penglihatan (visual), citraan pendengaran (audiovisual), dan citraan gerak. Pemanfaatan citraan dalam puisi tersebut mampu menghidupkan imaji pembaca dalam merasakan apa yang dirasakan oleh penyair.The purpose of this study is to describe the style of language and imagery in the poetry poem "Engkau Salat dalam Hutan" and the poem "Di Puncak Bukit Mangkoso" by D. Zawawi Imron. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method. Data collection is done by library and note techniques while data analysis is done by identifying, interpreting, analyzing, and providing conclusions. The results of the research and discussion are the stylistics in the poem "Engkau Salat dalam Hutan" and the poem "Di Puncak Bukit Mangkoso", has a unique D. Zawawi Imrom which is a form of aesthetic characteristics of the poet individualization. This particularity is shown among others in the use of language styles and images. The use of language style is done by utilizing figurative language or figurative language causing poetry to attract attention, give rise to freshness, life, and especially cause clarity of imaginary images. The figurative language used by the poet in the poetry is the figurative language of personification, anaphora, simile, climax, and repetition. The use of images used by poets in the poem "Engkau Salat dalam Hutan" and the poem "Di Puncak Bukit Mangkoso" are vision images (visual), hearing images (audiovisual), and motion images. The use of images in the poem is able to animate the reader's image in feeling what is felt by the poet.

The title of this research is the analysis of figurative language in the poem “Dalam Diriku” by Sapardi Djoko Darmono. This research is a form of appreciation for literary works, especially poetry in the context of developing Indonesian language and literature. This study aims to describe and interpret the use of language style in the poem entitled “Dalam Diriku” by Sapardi Djoko Darmono. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The technique for collecting data in this study used content analysis in the poem. This research explains phenomena throught the process of observing cases or phenomena, then being interpreted, interpreted, and then formulating conclusions. The use of language style is a component that often exists in works of fiction and non-fiction in Indonesian. The results of this study show that the poem “Dalam Diriku” contains repetition, metaphor, personification, paradox to hyperbole language styles. The use of language style in the poem needs to be known as the beauty of the effect in a story so that it seems lively and interesting so that the message contained in it is easier to understand.

This research is a study that took @thepotraitjogja instagram account as the research object. This research focuses on how instagram @thepotraitjogja accounts promote the city of Yogyakarta to tourism. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The results of the study it is known that instagram accounts @theportraitjogja image use a variety of language styles in their caption to influence readers' feelings. The feeling that you want to cause is a feeling of love and missing to Yogyakarta. Therefore, through the style of the language used, the instagram seeks to bring the image of a lover who is warm, charming and longed for in the city of Yogyakarta. The emotional closeness that is expected to be difficult after reaching the image is expected to strengthen the readers' desire to come to visit the city of Yogyakarta, just like coming to visit a lover. There are three styles of language used to bring up the image, among others: (1) comparative language style consisting of litotes, personification, metaphor, hypocorism, hyperbole, allegari and simile language styles, (2) affirmation language style consisting of language style repitition, parallelism and silepsis; and (3) the opposing language style consisting of the pardox language style. Abstrak: Lagu adalah salah satu media hiburan yang diminati oleh masyarakat di manapun berada, lebih dari itu lagu juga digunakan sebagai identitas, media penyampaian pesan kepada masyarakat. Lirik lagu Itsuwa Mayumi yang ada dalam album “Mayumi The Best Kokoro No Tomo” ditulis sesuai dengan gaya bahasa yang dikuasainya. Penelitian ini mengangkat tema gaya bahasa lirik lagu Itsuwa Mayumi dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui gaya bahasa yang dipakai Itsuwa Mayumi dalam lirik lagu yang diciptakannya. Data yang digunakan adalah lirik lagu Itsuwa Mayumi yang ada dalam album “Mayumi The Best Kokoro No Tomo”. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sedangkan pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan stilistika. Hasil analisis dari gaya bahasa lirik lagu yang diciptakan Itsuwa Mayumi antara lain: gaya bahasa metafora, personifikasi, simile, hiperbola, litotes, paradoks, pertanyaan retoris, dan repetisi. Diantara gaya bahasa tersebut yang paling sering digunakan adalah gaya bahasa metafora, personifikasi, dan simile. Sehingga bisa dikatakan ciri khas lirik lagu yang diciptakan Itsuwa Mayumi lebih banyak menggunakan gaya bahasa metafora, personifikasi, dan simile.Kata kunci: stilistika, gaya bahasa, lirik lagu Abstract: The song is one of the entertainment media that is in demand by people everywhere, more than that the song is also used as an identity, a medium for delivering messages to the public. The lyrics of Itsuwa Mayumi's song in the album "Mayumi The Best Kokoro No Tomo" were written in accordance with the style of language under their control. This study raises the theme of the language style of song lyrics of Itsuwa Mayumi with the aim to find out the style of language used by Itsuwa Mayumi in the lyrics of the songs she created. The data used are the lyrics of the song Itsuwa Mayumi in the album "Mayumi The Best Kokoro No Tomo". The method used is descriptive qualitative method. While the approach used is a statistical approach. The results of the analysis of the style of song lyrics created by Itsuwa Mayumi include: metaphorical style, personification, simile, hyperbole, litotes, paradox, rhetorical questions, and repetition. Among the language styles most frequently used are metaphorical, personification, and simile styles. So that it can be said that the song lyrics created by Itsuwa Mayumi use more metaphorical, personified, and simile language styles. Keywords: stylistics, language style, song lyrics

This research aim's to investigate language style variation used by the government on a covid-19 post on Instagram. This research is applied the descriptive qualitative method that focused on two objectives of the study. Firstly, to investigate situations types of language style variation were found in social media and secondly, to investigate realized of language style variation in social media in posting Coronavirus disease (covid-19). The data were collected through caption by the government that related to covid-19 found in Instagram. The data were collected through identified language style, do note-taking, and collecting references related to data. The researcher used Martin Joss's theory (1976: 153-155) to analyze the type of language styles such as are formal style, consultative style, and casual style. The research finding showed that 8 data were used by the government in a formal style, 7 data were used by the government in a consultative style, and 5 data were used by the government in a casual style.
