Self discipline is important for students. Students who have high self discipline will take action based on social norms or rules that have been created. Self discipline is influenced by external factors and internal factors. Authoritative parenting style is one of external factors that influence to change of behavior, while one of internal factors can be drive human behavior is emotional intelligence. This study aims to determine whether there is the role of authoritative parenting style and emotional intelligence to self discipline students. Subjects in this study were student of senior high school grade XI science at Santo Yoseph Denpasar. Instruments in this study is authoritative parenting scale, emotional intelligence scale, and self discipline scale. The results of this study showed a regression coefficient (R) of 0.507 (F=29.538,P<0.05), this means that authoritative parenting style and emotional intelligence contribute to self discipline. The coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.325, which means that the authoritative parenting style and emotional intelligence have effective contribution of 32.5% to self discipline. Emotional intelligence have standardized beta coefficient of 0.508 (P<0.05) and authoritative parenting style have standardized beta coefficient of 0.196 (P<0.05). Emotional intelligence have more contribute than authoritative parenting style to self discipline.Keywords : Authoritative Parenting Style, Emotional Intelligence, Self Discipline

Background: Every family applies a certain educational style in individual and social education of their children. These styles are influenced by many factors, including cultural, social, political, economic styles, etc. The parents’ lifestyle is one of styles that have a great impact on parenting. In this regard, the goal of present research is analysis of the role of parent’s lifestyle by the authoritative parenting style. Methods: The research method is descriptive-analytic based on library, documentary and field studies. Statistical Society of the research is all intelligent girls of grade three in high school of Zahedan during 2015-2016 school years. Cochran formula has been used to determine the sample volume which 311 people were estimated. Spearman statistical methods and multiple regressions have been used to analyze the data. Results: The results of the research show that the lifestyle and its components have a significant correlation with authoritative parenting style and can predict it. Conclusion: The findings of this study, while having applicable aspects in this domain, can be helpful in planning supplementary remedial procedures.

This research aimed to know the correlation between democratic parenting style and emotional intelligence with sibling rivalry. Sibling rivalry triggered by individual internal or external factors. In this research, democratic parenting style serve as individual external factor and emotional intelligence serve as individual internal factor for sibling rivalry. Participants in this study were selected by purposive sampling technique which are parents who have children in age of 7-8 years old. Quntitative method was used by distributing Democratic Parenting Style Scale, Emotional Intelligence Scale and Persaingan antar saudara Scale to the participants. Regression was used to understand the correlation between variables and its correlational strength. This research showed that there is significant negative correlation between democratic parenting style and emotional intelligence with sibling rivalry. Partially, democratic parenting style and sibling rivalry results correlation coefficient r = -0.196 meanwhile emotional intelligence and sibling rivalry results correlation coefficient r = -0.293. Regression analysis between variables shows R square (R2) valued of 0.88 (8.8%). This result shows that democratic parenting style and emotionl intelligence can explain the variable variances of sibling rivalry valued of 8.8% together.

Personal Adjustment is a process which includes all the individual behavior and mental response in harmonize needs and demands in which it is derived from the inside of individual as well as from the environment. The ability in personal adjustment is needed to help the individual in facing many changes and demands from the environment. Personal adjustment is needed for first-year students in facing the school’s transition, especially for the students who proceed their education in a boarding school. Personal adjustment is affected by the ability in managing the emotion and mental readiness to solve a problem without a help from others. This research is aimed to explore the role of autonomy and emotional intelligence to the personal adjustment in the first-year boarding students. The subjects were 125 boarding students in grade X of SMK Kesehatan Bali Medika Denpasar. The instrument in the research were personal adjustment scale, autonomy scale and emotional intelligence scale. The results of multiple regression analysis showed the value of R=0,783 (p<0,05) and R2=0,613, which concluded that the personal adjustment and emotional intelligence conjunctly contributes as much as 61,3% to the personal adjustment in th first-year boarding students. Standardized beta coefficient of autonomy showed the value of 0,296 (p<0,05), which concluded that the autonomy contribute to the personal adjustment. Standardized beta coefficient of emotional intelligence showed the value of 0,541 (p<0,05), which concluded that the emotional intelligence contribute to the personal adjustment.Keywords: autonomy, emotional intelligence, personal adjustment, boarding students, first-year

Aim: Emotional Intelligence (EI) has been defined as the ability to perceive, understand, regulate, and connect emotions to oneself and in relation to others. Research findings show that parenting style could potentially contribute to or hinder the lifetime success of a child well into adulthood including leadership roles. The influence of parenting style on the emotional intelligence and psychological health of the Nigerian child has not being given adequate research attention. Study Design: Exploratory /Descriptive survey design. Methodology: Purposive sampling technique was used to select 332 (mean age = 14) in-school adolescents who responded to Wong and Law Emotional Intelligence Scale (WLEIS), Parenting Style Dimension Questionnaire (PSDQ) and General Health Questionnaire -12 (GHQ-12). Descriptive and inferential statistics were used for data analysis. Results: Observed patterns for low, high and very high levels respectively are: authoritative parenting style (45.5%, 41.6%, and 12.9%), authoritarian parenting style (53%, 30.7% and 16.3%); permissive parenting style (64.2%, 20.7% and 15.1%). Authoritative as well as authoritarian parenting styles were observed to significantly predict Emotional Intelligence. Permissive parenting style failed to significantly predict Emotional Intelligence. Authoritative parenting style failed to significantly predict psychological distress, while authoritarian as well as permissive parenting styles were significant predictors of psychological distress. Conclusion: Authors conclude that a child’s emotional intelligence and psychological health status are products of parenting style.

Some factors give an impact on the student in elementary school. The discipline of studying and parenting style from the parents. Some of the parents are not realizing that parenting style will give an impact on the study result of their children. This research is aimed to determine the effect of the authoritative parenting style and discipline of studying to the competence of student mathematical knowledge. The type of research that is used is ex-post facto research with correlational research design. The population that used in this research is the fifth-grade students of the State Elementary School Group I Gusti Ngurah Jelantik, amounted to 178 students. The sample is determined by a proportional random sampling technique. The result of multiple regression analysis found the equation Ŷ = 8.205 + 0.958X1 + 0.358X2, and result Freg = 84.209 > Ftable = 3.075. The Coefficient of determination (R2) = 0.594. Thus, meant score Freg is significant.  Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between the authoritative parenting style and discipline of studying to the competence of student mathematical knowledge of fifth-grade students with the percentage of influence about 59.4%.

Banking industry has a very important role in economic development in a country. Indonesia, which is the largest Muslim country in the world, certainly has the prospect of the development of Sharia Banking Industry is very good in the future. However, the development of Sharia Bank has been slowing down in recent years and the profitability of sharia comercial banking is still below the ideal value. This study aims to determine the internal factors and external factors that affect the profitability of Sharia Bank in the year of January 2012 until August 2017. The variables used in this study are ROA, Inflation, NPF, and BOPO. The data used is aggregate data of all Sharia Commercial Banks recorded at Bank Indonesia. Measurement of Statistic Description, F-Test, T-Test, Correlation Coefficient, Coefficient of Determination and Multiple Linear Regression using IBM SPSS 21 software. The results showed that significant negative effect of BI rate, NPF and BOPO was found, while Inflation variable showed negative but not significant. Overall, the above variables affect the ROA of 87.7%, while 12.3% is likely to be influenced by other factors.
