Gender is a difference between women and men which is judged by their behavior and character which is feminine or masculine. Self disclosure is the process of disclosing personal information that is not necessarily known by others. When someone experiences a difference between sex, which is a reproductive tool, and gender which is his nature, then that person will be underestimated by some societies. The subject of this research is male adolescents who are feminine while the object is self-disclosure by male adolescents who are feminine. In this study, the authors will examine the self-disclosure communication process carried out by teenage boys who are feminine. The theory used in this research is the concept of gender, intrapersonal communication, self-disclosure and self-concept. The author uses literature study, interviews, observation and documentation to gather the required information. In the interview process, the writer chose three main sources, namely three teenage boys who have feminine traits and one psychologist as justification. The results showed that male adolescents who have feminine traits are different from gay and transsexual men. Intrapersonal communication is needed by teenage boys in expressing themselves which is feminine. Communicating with himself can make it easier for feminine boys to make decisions. After expressing themselves, male adolescents who are feminine know themselves better and accept the shortcomings and differences between male adolescents who are feminine and male adolescents in general.Gender adalah suatu perbedaan antara perempuan dan laki-laki yang dinilai dari kelakuan dan sifat mereka yang feminin atau maskulin. Self disclosure adalah proses pengungkapan informasi pribadi yang belum tentu diketahui oleh orang lain. Saat seseorang mengalami perbedaan antara sex yang merupakan alat reproduksi dengan gender yang merupakan sifatnya, maka orang tersebut akan dianggap remeh oleh beberapa masyarakat. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah remaja laki-laki yang bersifat feminin sedangkan objeknya adalah pengungkapan diri yang dilakukan oleh remaja laki-laki yang bersifat feminin. Dalam penelitian ini penulis akan meneliti proses komunikasi pengungkapan diri yang dilakukan oleh remaja laki-laki yang bersifat feminin. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah konsep gender, komunikasi intrapersonal, self disclosure atau pengungkapan diri, dan konsep diri. Penulis menggunakan studi kepustakaan, wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi untuk mengumpulkan informasi yang dibutuhkan. Dalam proses wawancara, penulis memilih tiga narasumber utama yaitu tiga remaja laki-laki yang memiliki sifat feminin dan satu ahli psikolog sebagai pembenaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa remaja laki-laki yang memiliki sifat feminin berbeda dengan gay dan transeksual. Komunikasi intrapersonal dibutuhkan oleh remaja laki-laki dalam mengungkapkan dirinya yang bersifat feminin. Berkomunikasi dengan dirinya sendiri dapat mempermudah remaja laki-laki yang feminin dalam mengambil keputusan. Setelah melakukan pengungkapan diri remaja laki-laki yang bersifat feminin lebih mengenal dirinya sendiri dan menerima kekurangan dan perbedaan antara remaja laki-laki yang bersifat feminin dengan remaja laki-laki pada umumnya.

The story collection known in the West as The Arabian Nights or One Thousand and One Nights, is famous, among other things, for its erotic playfulness. This eroticism was (and is) one of the key reasons for its continuous popularity after Antoine Galland’s French translation in 1704. The Arabian Nights includes, besides traditional, heterosexual acts, play, and desires, examples of homoerotic playfulness—even though we must tread lightly when using such Western concepts with an oriental text body such as this one. The homoerotic playfulness of The Arabian Nights is the subject of this article. By making use of a text-immanent analysis of two of the Nights’ stories—of Qamar and Budûr and of Alî Shâr and Zumurrud—the author of this article focuses on the reversal of common gender roles, acts of cross-dressing, and, of course, homoerotic play. He will argue that these stories provide a narrative safe environment in which the reader is encouraged to “experiment” with non-normative sexual and gender orientations, leaving the dominant status quo effectively and ultimately unchallenged, thus preventing the (self-proclaimed) defenders of that status quo from feeling threatened enough to actively counter-act the experiment.

Humans are social beings who need other individuals to group. In interacting with others, individuals will convey information and usually begin with an introduction relates to self disclosure, which is the type of individual communication disclosing information about himself is commonly concealed. Social media is a medium on the Internet that allows users to represent themselves, share, communicate with others and create virtual social ties. This research was intended to examine Instagram and Self Disclosure in an interpersonal communication perspective on the Santo Kristoforus II high school students to find out the activities of students on Instagram social media. Research based on Self-Disclosure theory, communication theory in the Digital Era, social media, and Instagram. Research uses a qualitative approach with case study methods. The results is that the self disclosure conducted by the informant is about daily activities, and the self disclosure is on Instagram involving several Self-Disclosure processes. In the process of Self-Disclosure, informants usually provide personal information such as feelings, thoughts and experiences, and they are also careful enough in uploading information to social mediaManusia disebut makhluk yang memerlukan seseorang untuk saling berhubungan timbal balik. Dalam berinteraksi dengan orang lain, individu akan menyampaikan berbagai informasi dan biasanya diawali dengan perkenalan mengenai dirinya, hal tersebut berkaitan dengan self disclosure, yakni jenis komunikasi individu mengungkapkan informasi tentang dirinya sendiri yang biasa disembunyikan. Media sosial saat ini digunakan penggunanya untuk berkomunikasi, membentuk relasi dengan orang lain secara virtual. Sehingga penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk meneliti Instagram dan Self Disclosure dalam Perspektif Komunikasi Antarpribadi terhadap Siswa-Siswi SMA Santo Kristoforus II untuk mengetahui aktivitas siswa-siswi di media sosial Instagram. Penelitian berlandaskan teori Self-Disclosure, Teori Komunikasi di Era Digital, Media Sosial, dan Instagram. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengungkapan diri yang dilakukan oleh informan berisi tentang aktivitas sehari-hari yang dilakukan, dan pengungkapan diri tersebut dilakukan dalam media sosial Instagram yang melibatkan beberapa proses pengungkapan diri. Dalam proses pengungkapan diri, informan biasanya memberikan informasi pribadi seperti perasaan, pikiran dan pengalaman. Dengan banyaknya informasi yang diberikan, tidak menutup kemungkinan mereka juga cukup berhati-hati dalam mengunggah informasi ke media sosial

Indonesia’s fashion industry can be growth rapidly, but did not give the equal opportunity for man who wants to pursue career in the industry, due to gender stereotype in fashion which occurs in Indonesia. In prior researches, fashion examined as gendered activity and identically with women. This study aims to testify the existences of gender stereotype and inequalities among four Indonesian men who pursue fashion as a career, by describing their subjective experiences using qualitative approach and constructivism paradigm. This study concluded that in Indonesia, inequalities existed among four subjects due to gender stereotype. It is happened after the implications of society perspectives, that fashion perceived to be a career which linked with women rather than men. Also found in this study, that inequalities and gender stereotype also affected all of the subject self-concept. These factors made their self-concept tend to be low, but also encourages two of them to achieved many things and excel in the fields of fashion. So, they can be good examples to the society who underestimated them.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to determine the influence and interaction of social networks and personality traits on the self-disclosure behavior of social network site (SNS) users. According to social capital theory and the Big Five personality model, the authors hypothesized that social capital factors would affect the accuracy and amount of self-disclosure behavior and that personality traits would moderate this effect. Design/methodology/approach – A survey was conducted to collect data from 207 SNS users. The questionnaire was administered in university classrooms and libraries and via e-mail. The measurement model and structural model were examined by using LISREL 8.8 and SmartPLS 2.0. Findings – Based on the path analysis, the authors identified several interesting patterns to explain self-disclosure behavior on SNSs. First, the centrality of SNS users has a positive effect on their amount of self-disclosure. Moreover, people who are more extroverted disclose personal information that is more accurate with the level of the cognitive dimension held constant and disclose a greater amount of personal information with the level of the structural dimension held constant. From a practical perspective, the results may provide useful insight for companies operating SNSs. Originality/value – This study analyzed the influence of social capital factors on SNS users’ self-disclosure, as well as the interactions between personality and social capital factors. Specifically, the authors examined six important variables of social capital divided into three dimensions. This research complements current research on SNSs by focusing on SNS users’ motivation to disclose self-related information in addition to information sharing.

The present work involves the reconceptualization of self-consciousness as a multifaceted process. In the first study, subjects were asked to freely describe the contents of their thoughts when thinking about themselves. Content analyses resulted in the definition of specific categories of self-consciousness which were found to overlap partly with basic dimensions of the self-concept. In the second study, a valid and reliable self-report questionnaire of self-consciousness was developed, comprising fourteen separate factors. In the third study, different patterns of self-consciousness were found to be associated with depression, anxiety, self-disclosure, and loneliness. The theoretical and empirical implications of conceptualizing self-consciousness as a multiple-content phenomenon are discussed.

This article aims to look at the self-concept that is formed in Christian youth today with the lively development of TikTok social media. Informing a positive self-concept of young people, external factors are very influential. Of the many studies that have been conducted, many have found that a positive self-concept is influenced by the TikTok social media application for TikTokers. Based on these facts, it is necessary to conduct research on the causes of positive self-concept for today's youth, especially Christian youth. Through descriptive qualitative research with a literature study approach and field surveys, it can describe the causes of positive self-concept TikTokers ITBK Bukit Pengharapan Tawangmangu to be implemented for today's Christian youth. From this research, it was found that the positive self-concept of TikTokers ITBK Bukit Pengharapan is not affected by TikTok social media, but because TikTokers ITBK Bukit Pengharapan Tawangmangu is young people who have accepted Christ and live life to be like Christ.

Indonesia is a plural country because it has a variety of ethnicities, languages, religions. One of the ethnic groups in Indonesia is Benteng Chinese who have lived for a long time in Tangerang. Each ethnic group has its own identity or uniqueness that differentiates it from other ethnicities. Benteng Chinese society consists of various groups, one of which is a teenager. One of the most important periods in this phase of human life occurs in adolescence. During this period, a teenager's mental development and growth process occurs to form an identity that will describe his self-concept. Every teenager has a different self-concept. Parents are the biggest factor in the formation of adolescent self-concept. Imitation also affects self-concept. The purpose of this study was to describe the self-concept of Benteng Chinese Youth and what factors influence the self-concept of Benteng Chinese youths. Salah satu etnis yang ada di Indonesia adalah Cina Benteng yang sudah menetap lama di Tangerang. Setiap etnis memiliki identitas atau keunikan masing-masing yang membedakan dengan etnis lainnya. Masyarakat Cina Benteng terdiri dari berbagai kalangan, salah satunya remaja. Salah satu periode terpenting dalam fase kehidupan manusia terjadi pada masa remaja. Pada masa ini terjadi proses perkembangan dan pertumbuhan mental seorang remaja sehingga membentuk jati diri yang akan menggambarkan konsep dirinya. Setiap remaja memiliki konsep diri yang berbeda-beda. Orang tua merupakan faktor terbesar terbentuknya konsep diri remaja. Imitasi juga berpengaruh terhadap konsep diri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran konsep diri Remaja Cina Benteng dan faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi terbentuknya konsep diri remaja Cina Benteng. Dalam mengkaji penelitian ini penulis menggunakan konsep dan teori yaitu konsep diri, imitasi, remaja, dan Cina Benteng. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui wawancara terhadap dua key informan dan dua informan pendukung, serta studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsep diri yang dimiliki remaja Cina Benteng berbeda-beda secara fisik, sosial, maupun psikologis. Dan faktor yang paling berpengaruh terhadap pembentukan konsep diri remaja adalah orang tua.

ABSTRACTThe aim of this research are want to know about the relationship between self concept and police’s interpersonal communications at Polres Bantul, and want to know the effective support fron the self concept to police’s interpersonal communications at Polres Bantul.There are two variables in this research. The independent variable is police’s interpersonal communications and the dependent variable is self concept. The subject’s characteristic are (1) the police at Polres Bantu; (2) man or woman; (3) have 2 years minimal eksperient work at Bantul. The population are 157 police. Random sampling use as a technic to choose the subject. There are two scale in this research, communication interpersonal scale and self concept scale. The method for analysis is the correlations of product moment.The conclusion there are the relationship between self concept and police’s interpersonal communications. The higher self concept will make the communication interpersonal be higher too. The hypothesis can accept, it’s the mean there are the relationship between self concept and police’s interpersonal communications. The effective score for self concept to interpersonal communication 25,8%. It’s the mean 74,2% interpersonal communication variable is support another variable for examples are perception and memory. Abstract Contrary to common findings on self-disclosure and gender, male students at a Japanese university that were questioned for this study reported significantly higher disclosure to close friends than their female colleagues-overall as well as for various individual topics (N = 479). Two different measures of self-disclosure were used, both yielding similar results. The gender differences were especially pronounced in cross-gender friendships. In accordance with previous literature, subjective feeling of closeness and respondents’ trust in the stability of the friendship were found to be positively associated with self-disclosure. While both closeness and trust in relationship stability were greater in same-gender friendships, no gender differences were found in this regard. The conclusion discusses the possibility of these findings being connected to shifting images of masculinity and femininity among Japanese youth, as well as changing interaction patterns between genders.

ABSTRACTThis study aims to describe the self-concept of the transgender and the process of forming the self-concept of the transgender. The data analysis of the research results was carried out qualitatively. The approach used is a phenomenological approach, where the subjects studied are transgender women who study at the Makassar Tourism Academy. The results of the study prove that Subject 1 (NN) and subject 2 (OP) have a negative self-concept because they are unable to position themselves as a whole, being male or female. After all, they can play two genders at once, confusing gender, while 3 (ED) has a positive self-concept because the subject is positive about him.Keywords : self-concept, transgender  ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan konsep diri kaum waria dan proses pembentukan konsep diri kaum waria. Analisis data hasil penelitian dilakukan secara kualitatif. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan fenomenologi, dimana subjek yang diteliti adalah waria yang kuliah di Akademi Pariwisata Makassar. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa Subjek 1 (NN) dan subjek 2 (OP) memiliki konsep diri yang cenderung negatif dikarenakan belum mampu memposisikan diri seutuhnya menjadi laki-laki atau perempuan karena mampu memerankan dua jenis kelamin sekaligus dalam kehidupannya sehingga mengalami kebingungan identitas jenis kelamin, sementara subjek 3 (ED) memiliki konsep diri yang cenderung positif dikarenakan penilaian positif terhadap dirinya.
