This PKM activity is implemented in the form of extracurricular teaching at Tarsisius II High School Jakarta. The training targets are high school students and are targeted to be able to use Photoshop applications to support report generation using Microsoft Word, PDF files and Power Point. Use Photoshop to edit images needed in reports or for presentation needs. The contents of the training materials are related to images for copying, pasting, cropping, separating images, providing additional information on images, changing text on images, editing photos, making banners or activity posters, as well as applications using the snipping tool. This training is given for one semester in school extracurricular activities, with a schedule every Monday at 12.00 – 14.00 during the period from September to November 2021. The activity has been running since September 6, 2021. This activity is a community service program that is carried out routinely and financed by research institute and service to the community of Tarumanagara University. This activity is offered through the principal of SMA Tarsisius II Jakarta who forwards this information to the principal, Pak Adi, who is part of the school curriculum. The head of the implementing team has communicated with the principal, and extracurricular activities will be carried out for one year. This activity was carried out online due to the PPKM level 3 emergency situation due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but it was planned to be carried out offline. Materials will be made and prepared for each meeting and are scheduled for 10 meetings this semester. Photoshop training lecturers are lecturers and students of Electrical Engineering at Tarumanagara University. Outcomes produced by designing posters or banners for high school student participants and seminars for lecturers who support this activity.Kegiatan PKM ini diterapkan dalam bentuk pengajaran ektrakurikuler di SMA Tarsisius II Jakarta. Sasaran pelatihan para siswa SMA dan ditargetkan mampu menggunakan aplikasi photoshop untuk menunjang pembuatan laporan menggunakan microsoft word, file pdf dan power point. Penggunaan photoshop untuk meng-edit gambar yang dibutuhkan di dalam laporan atau untuk kebutuhan presentasi. Isi materi pelatihan berkaitan dengan gambar untuk pengerjaan copy, paste, crop, memisahkan gambar, memberikan keterangan tambahan pada gambar, mengganti tulisan pada gambar, meng-edit foto, membuat spanduk atau poster kegiatan, serta aplikasi penggunaan snipping tool. Pelatihan ini diberikan selama satu semester dalam kegiatan ektrakurikuler sekolah, dengan jadwal setiap hari senin pukul 12.00 – 14.00 selama periode bulan September sampai November 2021. Kegiatan sudah berjalan mulai tanggal 06 September 2021. Kegiatan ini merupakan program pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilaksanakan rutin dan dibiayai oleh lembaga penelitian dan pengadian kepada masyarakat Universitas Tarumanagara. Kegiatan ini ditawarkan melalui kepala sekolah SMA Tarsisius II Jakarta yang meneruskan informasi ini kepada kepala pak Adi yang merupakan bagian kurikulum sekolah. Ketua tim pelaksana sudah berkomunikasi dengan kepala sekolah, dan kegiatan ektrakurikuler akan dilaksanakan selama satu tahun. Kegiatan ini dilakukan secara daring karena situasi darurat PPKM level 3 dikarenakan masih dalam kondisi pandemi Covid-19, tetapi akan direncanakan untuk dilakukan secara luring. Materi akan dibuatkan dan dipersiapkan untuk setiap kali pertemuan dan dijadwalkan untuk 10 kali pertemuan pada semester ini. Tenaga pengajar pelatihan photoshop adalah dosen dan mahasiswa Teknik Elektro Universitas Tarumanagara. Luaran yang dihasilkan dengan desain poster atau spanduk bagi peserta siswa SMA dan seminar bagi dosen pengampu kegiatan ini.

The objective of this study was to verify the association of psychological factors and body practices with the academic performance of high school students. A sample of 330 students participated, made up of 167 girls and 163 boys. Likert scale instruments were used for collecting information on self-concept, and on general and academic self-efficacy. Time spent on moderate to vigorous physical activity was recorded, and so was participation in several types of body practices, such as sports, dances, martial arts, performing arts, and systematic physical exercises. Academic achievement was referred to from the students' grades on regular subjects. Linear regression analysis was used for verifying the association of independent variables with academic performance. The adjusted regression model explains between 7% and 36% of academic performance variance, whereas Self-Concept explains academic performance on six of the twelve subjects, and the mean of the grades, with Beta values between 0.13 (p = 0.02) for Sociology and 0.28 (p <0.01) for Mathematics. Academic self-efficacy explained performance on eleven subjects and the mean of the grades, with Beta values between 0.21 (p <0.01) for Physical Education and Philosophy, and 0.44 (p <0.01) for Biology. Participation in extracurricular activities involving body practices explained academic performance on six subjects and the mean of the grades, with Beta values between 0.14 (p = 0.02) for Sociology and 0.31 (p <0.01) for Arts. The studied psychological variables and participation in projects concerning body practices during extracurricular activities correlated with academic achievement as to several school subjects, and with the mean of the grades.

Background: Developing autonomy, the ability to solve problem situations, make decisions and act for the benefit of your social environment are modern life skills and can be developed in the school environment, along with mathematical content, and can be viable through the methodology of project projects, using active methodologies and the resources of digital technologies. Objectives: Discuss the Mathematics Curriculum or the work projects as a pedagogical proposition based on the development of three projects with the thematic Cryptography, Music, and Project launching applicable to the High School. Design: Qualitative research that sought to investigate work with projects in High School was used. Setting and Participants: Experiments developed with two classes of high school students in the Rio Grande do Sul state. Data collection and analysis: Data collection took place during the development of the project stages through students' written records and questionnaires. Results: It is considered that the Work Projects developed constituted a possibility to modify the role of the student and the teacher, allowing students to become active, participative, and committed to the development of their knowledge. Conclusions: It is understood that students, their learning and development must be the focus of the educational process. Therefore, the school curriculum must enable students to assume the role and responsibility for their learning.

This article reports the partial findings of a statewide survey of high school special education programs for students with mild disabilities. The focus of this article is on the curriculum. Three sources of information were tapped for this study: (a) special education administrators, (b) high school special education teachers, and (c) parents of high school students with mild disabilities. The return rates were very high: 91%, 89%, and 45% of the three groups, respectively. Four basic topics concerning the curriculum were investigated: (a) its focus and content, (b) discrepancies between availability and utilization, (c) barriers to mainstreaming, and (d) conditions required for improvement. Both data and recommendations with respect to these topics are presented.

The article discusses the features of socialization in education and educationalenvironment in rural and mountain schools. The author analyzes the characteristics of vocationalguidance for adolescents; components of career guidance in schools in rural and mountainousareas. The author believes that the need to create and implement proactive forms and technologiesto learn. It is primarily about school degree, since it is in the high school age formed the basis ofsocial identity formation. This motivated the study of the methodological aspects of the educationof pupils in schools in rural and mountainous areas. Targeting high school students forprofessional work in general secondary education system needs rethinking science, the result ofwhich should be the introduction of educational practice new meaning of educational work, newforms of career guidance. Before modern rural and mountain schools acute problem enhancecareer guidance activities. The main content of professional orientation of young people in ruralareas is to cultivate students' professional interests to sustainable agriculture in the daily academicand extracurricular activities. In this connection it is necessary to start adequate training forinnovative development of rural and mountainous areas in need of systematic approach to trainingprocess that involves complex requirements, which form a system of nature.

The study aims to identify kinds of high school students’ misrepresent in doing their tasks and to provide the appropriate scaffolding as a solution to help the students. This is a qualitative descriptive research. The research subject consists of three junior high school students who have different abilities in Mathematics. They were selected out of 92 students. This research studied the conceptual errors, procedural mistakes, and students’ technical mistakes in working on the problems based on the stages of Kastolan mistakes and the scaffoldings given. Furthermore, the data were collected by using the way of testing, interviewing and documenting techniques. The research data were guarantee validated with the triangulation method. The result of the research showed that there were some errors done by the students in doing the tasks. They were the conceptual errors, procedural mistakes, and technical errors. The scaffoldings given to help the students do the tasks for Level 1 (environmental provisions), Level 2 (explaining, reviewing dan restructuring), and Level 3 (developing conceptual thinking).

This study aims to look at the effect of martial arts exercises on changes in adolescent personality. The sample of this study was Yadika Lubuklinggau High School students who participated in pencak silat extracurricular activities, totaling 22 people. The sampling technique is a total sampling technique. The hypothesis proposed in this study is that martial arts exercises provide a significant influence on changes in adolescent personality. The design of this study is one group pretest-posttest. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire with Likert Scale. The data in this study are the answers of the sample parents regarding their daily personalities both before and after pencak silat training. Hypothesis testing with a t-test at a significant level of 0.05%. Based on testing the research hypothesis using the t-test statistical analysis it is known that the t-value is 3,227, while the t-table value is 1,720. Thus, it can be concluded that the hypothesis proposed in this study was accepted. The conclusion that can be drawn in this study is that martial arts exercises provide effects on changes in adolescent personality.

ABSTRACTNanotechnology and nanoscience have a strong potential to impact society and the commercial sector. It is critical to introduce this area to high school classrooms as a teaching tool. Here, we report the development of ferrofluid-based experimental modules in a team effort including a high school student and a high school teacher. The basic experimental modules were developed as follows: A) Electric motor-based patterning of magnetic nanoparticles and carbon nanotubes on a silicon wafer. Electromagnetically activated or ‘spiked’-ferrofluid was utilized here. B) Basic concepts of wettability, hydrophobicity, and oleophilicity were demonstrated by combining hydrophobic CNTs, water, and ferrofluids. C) Finally, the utility of ferrofluid-based environmental remediation was demonstrated for oil removal from oil-water mixture and organic dye separation from water-dye mixture. It is envisioned that the integration of the developed experimental modules into high school curriculum will motivate high school students to pursue degrees in science, engineering, and nanotechnology. Thus, this will assist in the development of future workforce in the area of nanotechnology and materials science.

Abstract Introduction People with a later chronotype typically sleep later and perform better later in the day. In an early high school schedule, students with later chronotypes earn lower average grades than those with earlier chronotypes. However, other effects of late chronotype on high school students are poorly understood. This study examined the relationship of chronotype with sleep duration, daytime sleepiness and sustained attention in high school students. Methods This study was conducted at Byram Hills High School in Armonk, NY, where classes begin at 7:45am. During three class periods, 36 participants (female n=24, n=12, 14–17 years old) completed the Morning-Eveningness Questionnaire (MEQ), Karolinska Sleepiness Scale (KSS), and Psychomotor Vigilance Test (PVT) during their class. Subjects recorded time spent on homework/extracurricular activities and bedtime/waketime from the night prior to the assessment. Results Later chronotype (lower MEQ score) was significantly associated with later bedtime, shorter sleep duration, and increased sleepiness (r=-0.82, p&lt;0.001; r=0.72, p&lt;0.001; and r=-0.40, p=0.016; respectively). Shorter sleep duration was significantly correlated with increased sleepiness (r=-0.34, p=0.045). Increased workload (time on homework/extracurriculars) was significantly associated with later bedtime (r=0.42, p=0.011). Chronotype, sleep duration, and sleepiness showed no significant association with PVT scores (r=-0.16, p=0.360; r=-0.10, p=0.933; r=0.09, p=0.619, respectively); however, increased workload was significantly associated with increased PVT scores (r=-0.35, p=0.041). Conclusion These results are important for the wellbeing of high school students, as they show relationships between late chronotype, short sleep, and increased sleepiness during class in an early school schedule. Further research is needed to determine the best school schedule for high school students based on individual differences in chronotype.
