Economic transformation processes in Poland, taking effect under the influence of advancing globalization, trigger extensive changes in the functioning of particular sectors of the national economy, industrial and service enterprises, and institutions. As a result, industrial structures are rebuilt, which is due to changes in functioning of industrial enterprises regarded as the basic elements of the spatial forms of industry concentration. These changes condition the participation of the national industrial enterprises in the global economic processes, and the integration of the Polish industry with the global industry, especially through forming organizational, financial, and technological bonds, and through entering the already-formed market networks of international corporations. Therefore, from the point of view of the analysis of the economic transformation process in Poland, and especially transformation of industrial structures, the research area of functioning of enterprises, which is the focus of this paper, seems an important issue. In the first part, the author makes an attempt at showing differences between approaches to research problems concerning functioning of enterprises in geographical and economic sciences, and points to the necessity that researchers pay special attention to the conditioning of changes in functioning of enterprises and the sources of financial means for the restructuring. Further, the author presents a modernized questionnaire investigating functioning of an industrial enterprise, outlines the criteria of selection of enterprises for the research, and discusses the range of analysis of changes in enterprises functioning basing on results achieved from empirical studies conducted in south-east Poland. The paper is concluded with a discussion of access to data, and data quality evaluation. These considerations appear to prove the validity and significance of the undertaken research problems concerning changes in enterprise functioning, to show advantages of a comprehensive approach to this problem area, which includes all important aspects of enterprise functioning, and to point out to the necessity of more extensive inclusion of economic issues in research work conducted in the field of industrial geography, as processes of change are not a goal, but a means that should lead to an increase in efficiency and competitiveness of an enterprise, expressed by economic indexes.

In the development of every field of science, we observe a sequence of stages connected with more and more precise perception of the research area, resulting from making new hypotheses, setting new goals, and perfecting the research methodology. These stages are reflected in the gradual transition from descriptions of the object of research and explanations of its formation processes to the creation of models and construction of theories. Thus, a need emerges to take up efforts to create the theory of industrial geography. It results not only from the willingness to intensify the elementary research, but also from social demands that use the results of scientific research in practical application, e.g. in building developmental strategies for national, regional, or local systems.Basing on the above assumptions, the author of this paper attempts at determining selected research problems in industrial spatial structure. The presented idea refers to the general assumptions of scientific methodology and the theory of systems, to a series of theoretical works that focus on building the theory of geography, to the basics of building the theory of industrial geography, and to numerous empirical studies. The research problem area outlined in the paper is not exhaustive, as it does not include all issues vital in theory development and empirical studies in the field of industrial geography. Its further development should be oriented at explaining and evaluating diversities observed in the industrial spatial structure, but also at proposing rational directions of its further transformation. It seems that adopting this line of development will make industrial geography more competitive in comparison to other fields of science, and will enable the realization of practical application goals.

The development of the tourism industry must take into account the peculiarities of the modern economic space, which is constantly changing and has many negative factors. Such an unstable environment is characterized by an uneven relationship and interdependent factors that affect the creation and consumption of the tourism product and create the multidimensionality of the tourist services market. On the basis of studying the mobility and variability of environmental factors as the modern information cooperation between producers and consumers in the tourist services market, we address the problem ofimplementing marketing mechanisms and their influence on the formation of consumer demand for tourist services. The use of marketing approaches and the mechanism of their implementation, the creation of a modern marketing environment will add stability in the market of tourist services and enhance its competitiveness. It is a question of changing the conceptual model of setting the problem of development of the tourist services market, which should be based on the totality of beliefs, values that are consumer oriented, the system of communication with specific people; finding effective ways to transform the perception of the customer’s expectations into the criteria for the desired quality of the tourism product, etc. An effective marketing strategy in the market of tourist services is possible provided that the mechanisms of influence of marketing instruments on the work of the tourism enterprise are explored in the conditions of an unstable environment, taking into account communicative and social methods of increasing the effectiveness of marketing activity in the market of tourist services. It is marketing that allows you to study and analyze the market as an object that is constantly evolving and changing under the influence of human activity. The marketing mechanisms identified by the authors in the context of environmental stabilization (research on consumer motivation and psychology, creation of new types of tourism product, involvement of employees in the formation of marketing policy of the enterprise, public-private partnership, development of creative industries, etc.) imply the recognition of culture as an instrument for the development of regional cultural industries, which implies the formation of a market for tourist services, taking into account the opportunities of the region and its cultural characteristics. The choice of the region is explained by the fact that the characteristic feature of Kryvyi Rih is the excessive technological load, its pollution under the influence ofthe activities of mining, metallurgical and other industrial enterprises and therefore the search for ways to overcome the environmental crisis. We analyze the possibilities of the Kryvyi Rih region from the point of view of forming the promotional environment through the cultural policy of the region, promotion of the brand of the city, formation of its image. Potential development opportunities in the industrial tourism industry have been identified. The theoretical and methodological basis of the research is provided by the position of modern economic theory, management theory, psychology of communications, works of domestic and foreign specialists in the field of tourism marketing. The research work uses methods that provide its logical essence – the dialectical method of scientific knowledge, the method of system-structural analysis, the method of modeling complex systems.

The aim of the article is to present car sharing, with particular emphasis on electric car sharing, as an interdisciplinary research area. This applies not only to social sciences – management (strategy or marketing), sociology, economics (including the sharing economy), consumer psychology, but also to urban planning, engineering sciences (electrical engineering or energy) and, finally, ecology. Only the use of a broader perspective allows the understanding of the importance of car sharing, including electric vehicles, in contemporary social and economic processes. The diagnosis of factors that may affect the widespread use of car sharing, which we treat as an element of cities’ response to congestion and smog, requires a reference to the knowledge of the previously mentioned scientific disciplines. The core value of this article is that it provides a multi-faceted perspective on the consumer and prosumer, urban mobility and the energy ecosystem from the point of view of the sharing economy and zero/low carbon cars. In recent years, the number of research articles on car sharing has been growing (Ferrero, Perboli, Rosano, & Vesco, 2018); however, studies written from the point of view of a single, less often two scientific disciplines dominate. We propose to extend this perspective. Although, in research terms, this work is preliminary and exploratory, adopting a broad observation perspective should allow for establishing a dialogue between disciplines to ensure better formulation of research problems and solve socio economic dilemmas not only in the field of the sharing economy, and to better introduce the issue of car sharing to the area of management sciences.

Novel textiles have received a lot of attention from researchers in the last decade due to some of their unique features. The introduction of intelligent materials into textile structures offers an opportunity to develop multifunctional textiles, such as sensing, reacting, conducting electricity and performing energy conversion operations. In this research work nanocomposite-based highly piezoelectric and electroactive β-phase new textile has been developed using the pad-dry-cure method. The deposition of poly (vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) − carbon nanofillers (CNF) − tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS), Si(OCH2CH3)4 was acquired on a treated textile substrate using coating technique followed by evaporation to transform the passive (non-functional) textile into a dynamic textile with an enhanced piezoelectric β-phase. The aim of the study is the investigation of the impact the coating of textile via piezoelectric nanocomposites based PVDF-CNF (by optimizing piezoelectric crystalline phase). The chemical composition of CT/PVDF-CNC-TEOS textile was detected by qualitative elemental analysis (SEM/EDX). The added of 0.5% of CNF during the process provides material textiles with a piezoelectric β-phase of up to 50% has been measured by FTIR experiments. These results indicated that CNF has high efficiency in transforming the phase α introduced in the unloaded PVDF, to the β-phase in the case of nanocomposites. Consequently, this fabricated new textile exhibits glorious piezoelectric β-phase even with relatively low coating content of PVDF-CNF-TEOS. The study demonstrates that the pad-dry-cure method can potentially be used for the development of piezoelectric nanocomposite-coated wearable new textiles for sensors and energy harvesting applications. We believe that our study may inspire the research area for future advanced applications.

The article considers the manifestations of the phenomenon of economic risk in the socioeconomic ecosystems of industrial enterprises, examines and differentiates the pragmatic and cultural aspects of the concept of "economic risk management". In terms of methodology, the study is based on the operational theory of risk management, and also uses tools to describe the organizational culture of risk management. Pragmatic and cultural differences in the characteristics of economic risk are identified at the level of stable forms of management activity with the involvement of the main provisions of the operational theory of risk management. The phenomenon of risk is considered in the ontological space as an artificial category of activity of industrial enterprises and other economic agents that form a socio-economic ecosystem. This phenomenon is studied as a specific form of social communication associated with the desire to assess the uncertain future in the present time, mainly from the point of view of analysis and management of the level of economic risk in the enterprise.

As a research area, interior design took shape in the 20s of the last century, despite the fact that the practice of decorating living spaces dates back many hundreds of years. However, the "self-sufficiency" of design and its connection with architecture to this day is the subject of scientific discussions of urban specialists, historians, art historians, and anthropologists. The article discusses the leading artistic styles and trends that prevailed in architecture and design from the point of view of their mutual influence on each other. Time frame of the research: from the middle of XIX century to the first half of XX century. As a result of the research of foreign experience in the formation of interior design, the main stages of the movement development and its relationship with architecture in two formations were identified: activities directly dependent on architectural decisions, activities that determine the entire design process to a large extent: from the functional zoning of the premises to the features of the placement of utilities in the building. Entering the information era in art as a whole is characterized by the rejection of slogans that clearly delineate stylistic boundaries and determine the role of a designer in creating the living space. The determining factor influencing the integrity of the building’s appearance in a modern view is the harmony of the facade and the internal content, which was made possible thanks to the equal interaction of the architect and designer, starting from the first half of the 20th century.

Corruption is a key factor that affects countries’ development, with emerging countries being a geographical area in which it tends to generate greater negative effects. However, few empirical studies analyze corruption from the point of view of disclosure by companies in this relevant geographical area. Based on a regression analysis using data from the 96 large companies from 15 emerging countries included in the 2016 International Transparency Report, this paper seeks to understand what determinants affect such disclosure. In that context, this paper provides empirical evidence to understand the factors that influence reporting on anti-corruption mechanisms in an area of high economic importance that has been little studied to date, pointing to the positive effect of press freedom in a country where the company is located and with the industry being the unique control variable that strengthens this relationship.

Collecting information from previous investigations and expressing it in a scientometrics study can be a priceless guide to getting a complete overview of a specific research area. The aim of this study is to explore the interrelated connection between alginate, gelatine, and hydroxyapatite within the scope of bone tissue and scaffold. A review of traditional literature with data mining procedures using bibliometric analyses was considered to identify the evolution of the selected research area between 2009 and 2019. Bibliometric methods and knowledge visualization technologies were implemented to investigate diverse publications based on the following indicators: year of publication, document type, language, country, institution, author, journal, keyword, and number of citations. An analysis using a bibliometric study found that 7446 papers were located with the keywords “bone tissue” and “scaffold”, and 1767 (alginate), 185 (gelatine), 5658 (hydroxyapatite) papers with those specific sub keywords. The number of publications that relate to “tissue engineering” and bone more than doubled between 2009 (1352) and 2019 (2839). China, the United States and India are the most productive countries, while Sichuan University and the Chinese Academy of Science from China are the most important institutions related to bone tissue scaffold. Materials Science and Engineering C is the most productive journal, followed by the Journal of Biomedical Materials Research Part A. This paper is a starting point, providing the first bibliometric analysis study of bone tissue and scaffold considering alginate, gelatine and hydroxyapatite. A bibliometric analysis would greatly assist in giving a scientific insight to support desired future research work, not only associated with bone tissue engineering applications. It is expected that the analysis of alginate, gelatine and hydroxyapatite in terms of 3D bioprinting, clinical outcomes, scaffold architecture, and the regenerative medicine approach will enhance the research into bone tissue engineering in the near future. Continued studies into these research fields are highly recommended.
