Learning new vocabulary compromises a significant factor for success within language learning since without the adequate knowledge of words and their meaning, learners are not able to use the target language efficiently. Moreover, vocabulary tends to be forgotten if it is not acquired and used through the right methods that will provide learners with language inputs in genuine target language environment. In this regard, the increasing access to different multimedia and technology resources facilitate spontaneous vocabulary acquisition for the contemporary age learners. In particular, movies with subtitles can be a great tool in bringing students closer to authentic real life communication vocabulary. As a result, previous studies have found out several benefits of using subtitled movies by confirming that subtitles indeed improve vocabulary development.

Contemporary society is actively engaged into technology innovations due to their multi-purposeful usage for personal, professional and educational reasons. Many new terms defining information communication technologies appear but the paper focuses on the interactive media, which may be considered as an integral part of the phenomenon. It is aimed to analyze and discuss the possibilities of integration of interactive media into language learning process to support the efficiency of the study process taking into consideration the needs and achievements of students. The lectures organized with traditional teaching material are getting old-fashioned gradually; therefore, new trends appear in the education process and technologies have to be successfully integrated by the teachers working in higher education institutions. Currently life pace is extremely fast, and rapid changes influence the life of young people who want to be well-educated and prepared for the further professional career. The research was organized to investigate whether the students of higher education institution demonstrate willingness to integrate interactive media into language learning process, i.e. students do not have to be passive users but actively apply and use interactive media in the learning process. Consequently, the teachers have to be familiar with the opportunities provided by the interactive media and acknowledge the necessity of its integration, but still some considerations and uncertainty exist. The methods used for the research are as follows: analysis of the scientific literature sources, content analysis, and questionnaires. Findings of the research are formulated after analysis of the collected data and they revealed the capabilities of the students to use interactive media and perception of the importance and usefulness of such measures.Majority of teachers demonstrate conservative attitude towards innovations and implementation of modern teaching/learning methods, but the situation will be improved putting the efforts in order to seek positive learning outcomes and modernize the study process.

This article is a literature review on accessible three decades publicized studies about student motivation learning Arabic which was conducted in different countries and contexts. Due to the importance of Arabic in Islam as the sacred language, those research are expected to reveal the religious aspects in maintaining and shaping student motivation in learning Arabic. Unfortunately, the issue did not likely obtain adequate attention from most of the researchers. Interestingly though, review on that studies still managed to reveal that the researchers apparently mentioned the role of identity in their studies. However, it was not supported by the proper analysis which made only little can be recognized from the role of religious identity in shaping the motivation. This circumstance likely has taken place since most of the researchers did not use the poststructuralist approach which may bring them to reveal a deeper understanding of the role of identity in Arabic language learning. Furthermore, in order to obtain the more precise finding on the role of identity in maintaining student motivation, it is suggested to use the approach when addressing student motivation during Arabic learning process.

The purpose of this text is to identify the main strategies of the teaching-learning process, as well as the perceptions of professors during the period of social isolation in the context of the pandemic generated by Covid-19. The study sample consists of 52 professors from the Administration, Accounting, and Economic Sciences courses, working in four higher education institutions in the southern region of Brazil. The survey carried out through a questionnaire comprising 32 questions, collected the respondents' identification, the perceptions of the teaching process, and the teaching-learning strategies used from the insertion of classes remotely as an alternative in the social isolation period. As data treatment, descriptive statistics, and the Mann-Whitney statistical test were used, the analysis is quantitative. The results show that, for 96% of those surveyed, the disciplines took place remotely; 92% indicate pedagogical adaptations, and 76% responded that the institution offered training. The main teaching strategies used in the period of social isolation are: expository classes with the presentation of content on slides (98%); exercises with resolution (90%); case study (69%); and content-oriented research/reading (52%). The statistical analysis shows that professors who used problematization/teaching cases, debates, and games believe they have achieved the teaching-learning objectives. In the perception of 54% of professors, classes held remotely do not represent losses in students' teaching-learning process and have achieved their objectives. In general, the results demonstrate adaptation of face-to-face classes to the remote format. The findings suggest the importance of inserting technologies as teaching strategies, regardless of whether the model is face-to-face or not.
