Gloriosa superba L is an important medicinal plant and its seeds, tubers are used for medicine. To investigate the phyto-components of Gloriosa superba L collected from various habitats of Tamil Nadu state, India. In the present study, the phyto-components from the tubers of Gloriosa superba L cultivars from Sirumalai (GA1) Mulanoor (GA2), Thuraiyur (GA3), Konganapuram (GA4) and Vedaranyan (GA5) were extracted by ethanolic extract and the composition of chemicals and its concentration in the tubers were determined by Gas Chromatography – Mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis.Among the phyto-components GA1 shows 15 phyto-components, GA2 shows 13 phyto-components, GA3 shows that 8 phyto-components, GA4 shows 14 phyto-components and GA5 shows 13 phyto-components. GA1, GA2, GA4 and GA5 ecotypes possessed higher phyto-components. Colchichine is an important alkaloid of Gloriosa superba L was found in GA2, GA3, GA4 and GA5 accessions in good concentration. The results reveals that the geographical origin and climate condition of a accession causes polymorphisms in the accumulation of  phyto-components, its composition and morphological traits in Gloriosa Superba L  originating from different ecotypes of Tamil Nadu state.

Nowadays, plant is being used as a biofuel, a probable source for a pesticide and it is valued for its pharmacological effects. Hence, the researchers engaged in the scientific approach to provide explanation to these claims. The study focused on the phytochemical screening of the ethanolic extract of radish bulbs (Raphanus sativus). It further dealt on the isolation and determination of the molecular masses to provide probable structures and associated molecular properties for its constituents.<br />Alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins and tannins were analyzed. Further, this effort involved analysis through Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) using the mobile phase of Toluene: Chloroform (9:11) and Gas Chromatography- Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) to analyze the first spot (Retention Factor= 0.667).<br />Phytochemical analysis showed no tannins. Using TLC, it revealed two spots having Rf values of 0.667 and 0.507, respectively. Using GC-MS method, 24 different molecules were isolated and analyzed of which only 23 were given probable structures. The 23 molecules constituted 11 long-chain alkanes, 4 long-chain alkyl esters, 2 aromatic ketones, a benzyl halide, an aryl ether, a quinone, an aromatic aldehyde, a long chain aromatic alkane, and a long-chain alkyl nitrile. With this finding, the bulb extract may be a good source of potential biofuel (mono-alkyl ester), UV A, B and C blockers in the form of diphenyl-ketone, oviposition attractants (long-chain alkanes) and also a source of bioactive molecules such as estragole which shows antispasmodic effect, methyl palmitate with immunosuppressive effect in semi-allografts and hepatoprotective activity in rats, and an analogue of the antidepressant alfetamine.

The present study deals with the phytochemical examination of Pachygone ovata (Poer.) Hook.f.& Thoms., an important medicinal plant from menispermaceae family. Leaf and Stem extracts were prepared by using different solvents systems and phytochemical screening was performed using the standard methods given by Harborne. Leaf and stem extracts were prepared from aqueous and organic solvents like petroleum ether, acetone, ethyl acetate and ethanol. Qualitative phytochemical analysis of the petroleum ether, acetone,ethyl acetate, ethanol and aqueous extracts prepared from P. ovata leaf and stem part. Leaf part revealed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides, cardiac glycosides, phenols and tannins. Stem part revealed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides, Resin, Steroids, phenols and tannins. The ethanolic extract showed higher amount of secondary metabolites than the other solvent extracts. This observation becomes important in the context of the therapeutically and drug applications of P. ovata.

Objective: Andrographis lawsonii Gamble is a medicinal herb species, Endemic to India: Karnataka (Dakshina kannada or south Canara district), Kerala (Palakkad district), and Tamil Nadu (Coimbatore and Nilgiris districts). The Andrographis is a large genus of the family Acanthaceae. This study focused to check the preliminary phytochemical nutritive analysis, leaf stem and root and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis leaf methanol extract. Methods: The plant samples were subjected to Soxhlet extraction for phytochemical analysis and further experimental studies. The test on phytochemical studies indicated the presence of alkaloids, saponins, glycosides, and flavonoids glycosides within the plant parts, respectively. The estimation of carbohydrate protein starch methanol leaves extracts to have high activity compared to others. Results: Preliminary phytochemical and Nutritional analysis in A. lawonii. Nutritional analysis in carbohydrate protein and starch content was found to be high in leaf methanol extract. Highly medicinal compound analysis in this GC-MS Analysis 50 compound present in methanol leaf extract. Conclusion: The leaf methanol extract of A. lawsonii has exhibited remarkable preliminary phytochemical analysis and nutritional analysis GC-MS analysis to the medicinal plant.

Diversity within and among the population of Gloriosa superba collected from five different location of Tamil Nadu State, India, were explored by using Inter Simple Sequence Repeat (ISSR) DNA sequencing method. A total of 86.27% of polymorphic bands were seen in 94 reproducible bands generated from 12 number of ISSR primer ranging between 200bp to1000bp of band width. ISSR primer produces the bands with an average polymorphism of more than ninety nine percent among all the ecotypes. The dendrograms drawn for the analysis of genetic similarity in all the ecotypes. Our studies revealed that, genetic variations among different accessions of Gloriosa superba (L) was very well identified with the help of ISSR finger printing technique.

Euphorbia rothiana Spreng. is an important medicinal plant. It used in hypertensive agent in traditional medicine.The present study deals with the analysis of Phytochemical constituents by qualitative analysis of leaves, stem and root were done using Petroleum ether, chloroform, ethyl acetate and ethanol extracts. Alkaloids, flavonoids, phenols, terpenoids, triterpinoids, steroids, cardio glycosides and carbohydrates were analysed. Alkaloids, flavonoids, and phenols were highly present various extracts of leaves stem and root. Cardio glycosides triterpinoids and carbohydrates were minimum present in the various extracts.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the presence of phytochemical compounds and GCMS analysis of Corbichonia decumbens. The Soxhlet apparatus was used for the organic solvent extraction. Solvents used were hexane and ethanol. The results showed in preliminary phytochemical analysis alkaloids, Flavonoids, Saponins, Glycosides, Steroids were observed in hexane and ethanolic extracts. The Phenols and Tanins were present only in ethanolic extract. The GC-MS analysis has shown the presence of different phytochemical compounds in the ethanolic extract Corbichonia decumbens. A total of 30 compounds were identified representing 84.49% of total methanolic extract composition. Our findings provided evidence that organic solvent extracts of tested plant contain medicinally important bioactive compounds and it justifies their use in the traditional medicines for the treatment of different diseases.

ABSTRACTObjective: To explore the phytochemical constituents present in Sarcostemma brevistigma using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).Methods: Preliminary phytochemical analysis of secondary metabolites was made by following standard procedures. GC-MS analysis of the plantextracts was performed by using GC-MS equipped with a DB-35MS capillary standard non-polar column and gas chromatograph interfaced to a MassSelective Detector (MS-DSQ-II) with Xcalibur software.Results: The qualitative phytochemical analysis of this species exhibited the presence of alkaloids, glycosides, flavonoids, phenols, steroids, aminoacids, tannins, terpenoids, quinones, and coumarin. The GC-MS analysis revealed the presence of 24 compounds in the ethanolic extract of aerial partof Sarcostemma brevistigma. The most prevailing compound was 14,17 bis(dimethylaminoamino)[3.3]paracyclophan-5,8-diacetonitrile (14.86%).Conclusion: The study concludes that the species Sarcostemma brevistigma is a potential source for bioactive compounds such as esters, alkanes,alcohols, alkenes, amide, amine, phenol, ketone, and so forth. Objective: To investigate the total phenolics, antioxidant , antimicrobial and cytotoxic, activities of ethanolic and methanolic leaves extracts of Spatholobus parviflorus (Roxb.ex Dc.) kuntze. Methods: The current study was focussed on broad parameters namely total phenolics, phytochemical analysis, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis and antioxidant properties in order to characterize the alcoholic extracts of Spatholobus parviflorus as apotential free radical quencher. Results: The phytochemical screening of alcoholic extracts of Spaholobus parviflorus showed the presence of various secondary metabolites. Spatholobs parviflorus was proved to be an effective radical scavenger in all antioxidant assays. The gas chromatographic- mass spectrometry analysis confirmed the presence of bioactive compounds in varying percentage. Conclusion: These results suggest that the ethanolic extract of Spaholobus parviflorus has potential of antioxidant,antibacterial and cytotoxic activity that support the ethnopharmacological uses of this plant.The remarkable activity showed by the plant extract could be attributed to the synergic effect of the active compounds present in it.

The study was conducted to evolve Gloriosa superba for yield characters and alkalodi content for selecting elite genotypes for comercial exploitatio n. The genotypes were sowm in Variyankaval village, Udayarpalayam taluk of Ariyalur district, Tamil Nadu. The highest mean value for fresh and dry seed yield was observed in Chittor local. The genotype Mulanur local has recorded the highest mean value for number of pods per plant and number of seeds per pod and Arupukotai local excelled the general mean for the traits seeds per pod, fresh and dry seed yield and also for tuber characters. An investigation was carried out to quantify the colchicine (alkaloid) present in tubers by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) method. The genotypes collected from Arupukotai recorded the highest colchicine content (0.760 mg/g) followed by Chittoor (0.578 mg/g) and Mulanur (0.496 mg/g) and there by these three genotypes were utilized for further crop improvement.

Job satisfaction is an important factor for employees working in formal and informal sector. The job is small or big, permanent or temporary, risky or non-risky, job satisfaction is important. It is the mental feeling which drives the employees to excel. Job satisfaction is a combination of psychological, physiological and environmental circumstances. A satisfied employee is a contented and happy human being. The labour turnover depends upon job satisfaction. Even highly paid employees quit the job when they are not satisfied with the job. Road transportation in Tamilnadu is growing day by day. Job stress in the road transportation is very high due to increase in number of vehicle playing on the road and heavy traffic. The drivers and conductors working in public transport corporation are suffering from high job stress. If drivers and conductors are not satisfied with their job which leads to mental stresses and affects the productivity and also creates accidents. In this present study the researchers made an attempt to study the level of job satisfaction among the drivers and conductors who are working in the Tamilnadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC). The study reveals the expectations of drivers and conductors working in TNSTC with regards to the attributes like salary, promotion and fringe benefits etc., are satisfactory and not detrimental.
