According to available data, beetroot (Beta vulgaris) has been known and used in Poland since the XVth century. It has edible both root and leaves. Beet is often used in Polish kitchen, raw and heat-treated, pasteurized, pickled, and its low calorific value is conducive to a varied diet, because it contains micro- and macroelements and vitamins necessary to keep our body function well. Beet is a source of fiber, which has a positive effect impact on the intestinal function and regulates the level of cholesterol in the blood. Also high content of potassium supports the prevention of heart diseases. It consists betanin to improve liver’s function, as well as large amounts of vitamin C, which has positive influence on the immune system and both with flavonoids, strengthen the capillary walls. What is more the carotene contained in it prevents cataracts and macular degeneration. Consumption of beets is especially recommended to pregnant women, because beet is a source of B vitamins, which have a positive effect on the development of the fetal neural tube. The studies on effectiveness of betacyanine in preventing the development of skin, lung, colon, breast and prostate cancer has been proven. A large amount of nitrates present in raw beetroot juice contributes to the increase of endurance during physical activity, and high carbohydrate content supports effective training. A less known fact is that beet is also considered a natural aphrodisiac. Unfortunately, it is dangerous for patients with a history of kidney or gallbladder stones. By analyzing the above examples, we are trying to prove that beetroot is not only delicious vegetable but also really healthy diet composition. The aim of the article is to present the health-promoting properties of beetroot and its preserves, also to introduced the history of beetroot and subject of using the word beetroot as a negative human term.

The positive influence of aesthetically pleasing buildings and well cared for school grounds on the creation of school climate. In this article the positive effect of beautiful school buildings and well-kept school grounds on a school’s learners, teachers and parents is investigated. The methodology and theoretical foundation of Appreciative Inquiry were used to ask learners, educators and parents of Oranje Girls School in Bloemfontein, South Africa, about their experience of the influence the school’s beautiful buildings and terrain exert on the education presented there. Six appreciative questions were put to the respondents. Four themes were identified from the participants’ responses: the aesthetics of gardens and buildings; the influence of the history of the school; maintenance and buildings that tell something; and the influence of the buildings and grounds on education and interaction between learners, educators and parents. The themes and responses are embedded into, and compared to existing literature about the topic to demonstrate their relevance. It is argued that the performance of South African learners can be improved by renovating schools and by beautifying school grounds.In hierdie artikel word die positiewe effek wat mooi skoolgeboue en ’n goed versorgde terrein op ’n skool se leerders, onderwysers en ouers het, ondersoek. Die metodologie en teoretiese grondslag van Waarderende Ondersoek is gebruik om leerders, onderwysers en ouers van Oranje Meisieskool in Bloemfontein uit te vra oor die invloed wat die skool se mooi terrein en geboue op hulle belewenis van die skool en die onderrig daar het. Ses waarderende vrae is aan respondente gestel. Vier temas is uit die deelnemers se response geïdentifiseer: die estetika van tuine en geboue; die invloed van die geskiedenis van die skool; onderhoud en geboue wat iets vertel; en die invloed van die geboue en terrein op onderrig en interaksie tussen leerders, leerkragte en ouers. Die temas en response word ingebed en vergelyk met bestaande literatuur oor die onderwerp om hulle geldigheid aan te toon. Daar word geargumenteer dat SuidAfrikaanse leerders se prestasies merkbaar verbeter kan word deur skole op te knap en skoolterreine te verfraai.

While the use of vinegar to fi ght against infections and other crucial conditions dates back to Hippocrates, recent research has found that vinegar consumption has a positive effect on biomarkers for diabetes, cancer, and heart diseases. Different types of vinegar have been used in the world during different time periods. Vinegar is produced by a fermentation process. Foods with a high content of carbohydrates are a good source of vinegar. Review of the results of different studies performed on vinegar components reveals that the daily use of these components has a healthy impact on the physiological and chemical structure of the human body. During the era of Hippocrates, people used vinegar as a medicine to treat wounds, which means that vinegar is one of the ancient foods used as folk medicine. The purpose of the current review paper is to provide a detailed summary of the outcome of previous studies emphasizing the role of vinegar in treatment of different diseases both in acute and chronic conditions, its in vivo mechanism and the active role of different bacteria.

The purpose of this study was to test the effect of managerial effectiveness to employee performance, task commitment to employee performance, work ethic on the performance of employees, managerial effectiveness to task commitment, managerial effectiveness to the work ethic and the work ethic of the commitment of the employee's duties Regional Water Company (PDAM) Tirta Bhagasasi Bekasi. This research was conducted using the method suryey with path analysis in hypothesis testing. In this study, employees were selected as sample there are 96 employees who selected a random sample by strata or stratified random sampling from a total population of 127 respondents. Took this instrument before being used for the data to test the validity and reliability. The results of this study are as follows: There is a direct positive influence on employee performance managerial effectiveness. There is a direct positive influence on employee performance task commitment. There is a direct positive influence on employee performance work ethic. There is a direct positive influence on the effectiveness of managerial task commitment. There is a direct positive effect managerial effectiveness to the work ethic. There is a direct positive effect on the work ethic of commitment to the task.

This study aims to evaluate the role of satisfaction and commitment as mediating the effect of service quality on student loyalty as the user of Open University's Online Tutorial. Based on data analysis on student of Management program 229 as respondents with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), this study found the relationship between: (1) positive influence of service quality to satisfaction and loyalty of students using tuton; (2) the positive effect of satisfaction on student loyalty using tuton; (3) satisfaction is a mediator between service quality and loyalty of students using tuton. Conversely, commitment has no positive effect on student loyalty as a tuton user. In addition, commitment does not mediates the effect of satisfaction on the loyalty of tuton users. Jakarta is the place where the largest number of land transportation in Indonesia, according to Djarot in Kompas.com article, vehicles every day increased about 1500 units. And according to an article from Liputan 6, revenue from conventional taxi drivers dropped dramatically after the entry of online transport by 40-50% during 2016 due to the entry of online transport. Conventional taxi companies must immediately anticipate this phenomenon so that their human resources can survive in the company. The purpose of this research are first, to know is there a positive effect from professionalism factors to organizational commitment and job satisfaction. Second, to know job satisfaction factors have a positive effect to organizational commitment. And the last is to know is there a positive effect from rewards factors to job satisfaction and organizational commitment’s factors. This research uses descriptive method with non-probability method. Through judgmental sampling technique, primary data collection was obtained from questionnaire distribution to conventional taxi driver of Soekarno-Hatta Airport. The data has been collected and then obtained by using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The result of this research indicates that there is positive influence from professionalism to organizational commitment but the data do not support the hypothesis, there is positive influence from professionalism to job satisfaction, but there’s negative effect between job satisfaction and organizational commitment, there is positive relation of rewards to job satisfaction, Finally there is a positive effect of rewards on organizational commitment. Introduction: Evidence suggests that gender may influence many aspects of type 2 diabetes (T2DM) self-management (SM) and we posit that limited English language–proficient Latinx immigrants face additional challenges. Methods: Instruments and semi-structured interviews were used to examine gender differences on health literacy, diabetes knowledge, health-promoting behaviors, diabetes, eating and exercise self-efficacy (SE), and T2DM SM practices among a cohort of limited English language–proficient Latinx immigrants. Statistical and qualitative analysis procedures were performed comparing males and females. Results: Thirty persons participated. Males tended to be older, have higher educational achievement, and more financial security than females. Physiologic measures tended worse among female participants. Health literacy and exercise SE scores were similar, but females scored lower on Eating and Diabetes SE. Forty-seven percent ( n= 9) of the women reported a history of gestational diabetes mellitus and a majority of men ( n = 7) cited difficulty with excessive alcohol. Consumption: Males appeared to receive more SM support compared to females. Females more frequently noted how family obligations and a lack of support impeded their SM. Work environments negatively influenced SM practices. Conclusion: Men and women have unique SM challenges and as such require individualized strategies and support to improve T2DM management.

Abstract Background The QRS axis represents the sum of the amplitudes and orientation of the ventricular depolarization. In newborns, the QRS axis is generally directed downward and to the right and left axis deviation (LAD) may be associated with heart disease. Accurate interpretation of abnormalities in the QRS axis may facilitate early diagnosis of heart diseases in newborns. Purpose To describe the evolution of the QRS axis during the first four weeks of life and provide updated, digitalized, normal values from healthy newborns. Methods Electrocardiograms from 12,317 newborns (age 0–28 days) included in a regional, prospective, general population study from 2016–2018 were analyzed. Electrocardiograms were obtained and analyzed with a computerized algorithm with manual validation. The algorithm calculated the QRS mean axis using the net amplitudes of three leads I, II, and III. The four main QRS axis classifications were: “adult normal” axis (+1° to +90°), left axis deviation (LAD, 0° to −90°), right axis deviation (RAD, +91° to +180°), and extreme axis deviation (EAD, +181° to +270°). Echocardiograms were performed according to standard guidelines. Only newborns with an echocardiography excluding structural heart disease were included. Results Electrocardiograms from 12,317 newborns with a median age at examination of 12 days (52% boys) were included. The median QRS axis was 119° at the ages 0–7 days and shifted leftwards to 102° at the ages 22–28 days (p<0.001). We found that girls had significant less pronounced right axis deviation than boys (111° vs 117°, p<0.001) and that increasing gestational age was associated with more pronounced right axis deviation (104° vs 116°, p<0.05). Infant size did not affect the axis (p>0.05). Only 0.5% had LAD (0° to −90°) and 1.1% had an axis within the interval +240° to +30° indicating that a QRS axis in this expanded interval is unusual in healthy newborns. Conclusion The QRS axis showed a gradual leftward-shift during the first four weeks of life and was affected by sex and gestation age but unaffected by infant size. LAD occurred in only 0.5% of the newborns. Our data serve as updated reference values, which may facilitate clinical handling of newborns. Funding Acknowledgement Type of funding source: Foundation. In a rapidly changing business environment, the entrepreneurship of top management is essential for the survival and sustainable development of the enterprise. Building on the view of the strategic choice theory, this study identifies the relationship between entrepreneurship, market-oriented culture, and work engagement. Data were collected from 493 employees regularly working in small and medium-sized firms in South Korea. The results of this study indicate: (1) entrepreneurship (consisting of innovation, proactiveness, and risk-taking) has a significant positive influence on market-oriented culture, (2) entrepreneurship positively affects work engagement, (3) market-oriented culture has a significant positive effect on work engagement, (4) the effects of innovation and proactiveness on work engagement are significant, controlling for market-oriented culture, showing the partial mediating effect of market-oriented culture on work engagement, and (5) CEO trust moderates the relationship between risk-taking and work engagement. Theoretical and practical implications are suggested.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on customer–robot engagement in the Chinese hospitality industry. Analysis of a sample of 589 customers using service robots demonstrated that the perceived risk of COVID-19 has a positive influence on customer–robot engagement. The positive effect is mediated by social distancing and moderated by attitudes towards risk. Specifically, the mediating effect of social distancing between the perceived risk of COVID-19 and customer–robot engagement is stronger for risk-avoiding (vs. risk-seeking) customers. Our results provide insights for hotels when they employ service robots to cope with the shock of COVID-19 pandemic.

Highly efficient and effective porous ZnO nanorod arrays were fabricated by annealing ZnO nanorod arrays grown on a substrate using a simple hydrothermal method. The annealing had a positive effect on the nanorod morphology, structure and optical properties. The porosity was closely related to the annealing temperature. After heating at 450 °C, pores appeared on the nanorods. It was demonstrated that the porosity could be exploited to improve the visible light absorption of ZnO and reduce the bandgap from 3.11 eV to 2.99 eV. A combination of improved charge separation and transport of the heat-treated ZnO thus led to an increase in the photoelectrochemical properties. At an irradiation intensity of 100 mW/cm−2, the photocurrent density of the porous nanorod array was approximately 1.3 mA cm−2 at 1.2 V versus Ag/AgCl, which was five times higher than that of the ZnO nanorods. These results revealed the synthesis of promising porous ZnO nanorods for photoelectrochemical applications.
