To displace a character in time is to depict a character who becomes acutely conscious of his or her status as other, as she or he strives to comprehend and interact with a culture whose mentality is both familiar and different in obvious and subtle ways. Two main types of time travel pose a philosophical distinction between visiting the past with knowledge of the future and trying to inhabit the future with past cultural knowledge, but in either case the unpredictable impact a time traveller may have on another society is always a prominent theme. At the core of Japanese time travel narratives is a contrast between self-interested and eudaimonic life styles as these are reflected by the time traveller's activities. Eudaimonia is a ‘flourishing life’, a life focused on what is valuable for human beings and the grounding of that value in altruistic concern for others. In a study of multimodal narratives belonging to two sets – adaptations of Tsutsui Yasutaka's young adult novella The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Yamazaki Mari's manga series Thermae Romae – this article examines how time travel narratives in anime and live action film affirm that eudaimonic living is always a core value to be nurtured.

Conflicts are unavoidable in human life. Thus, for human beings, the attitude of forgiveness is of importance to be well-embedded and sustainably constructed. Resting upon the aforesaid premises, the present study conducted a library research to reveal how forgiveness is viewed from the perspectives of positive psychology and Islam. 102 scientific works reviewed, 58 works were finally selected to be scrutinized in depth. This study revealed that the discourses in the field of positive psychology imply that forgiveness attitude is of importance to be embedded in human beings and continuously constructed by virtue of its positive natural impacts on mental health, good relationships, physical health, and positive well-being. Furthermore, as informed by Islamic teachings, the attitude of forgiveness is also suggested to be well and continuously embedded. As the best Islamic role model for the end-time people, the Prophet Muhammad PBUH already exemplified that humans are indeed to always be forgiving and even to pray for others for the sake of good things that Allah SWT will bestow to. It is worth noting that both positive psychology and Islam encourage humans to be forgiving individuals.

The purpose of a competitor analysis is to provide managers with a complete picture of the competitive landscape confronting a firm. The core idea behind a competitor analysis is to use a systematic approach to (1) identify current and future rivals to a firm, (2) assess the strengths and weaknesses of current and future rivals, (3) determine a match between a competitor’s strategies and capabilities, (4) analyze the future plans and intentions of rivals, and (5) predict a competitor’s reaction to initiatives launched by a firm. The ability to anticipate the response by rivals provides a firm with a competitive advantage. This chapter discusses the underlying theory, core idea, depiction, process, insight or value created, and risks and limitations of competitor analysis. Finally, the chapter offers the illustration of Netflix and applies the steps of competitor analysis to this case.

Scientific normativity of law conceived as a character inherent in legal science as a sui generis. Jurisprudence basically study the law, something that initially emerged from the dogmatic belief in philosophy. Dogmaticism refuse to alter beliefs one iota. The teachings of dogmatic philosophy stems from the teachings of Plato (428-347 BC) and is reflected in the legal enforceability. Dogmaticism in the law is reflected in the Corpus Juris Civilis. Along with the development of post Era Scholastic philosophical thinking, the philosophy synthesizes thought between dogmatic thinking and skeptic has appeared in the Age of Enlightment. This idea is reflected in Transcendental Idealist philosophy thought of Immanuel Kant (1724 to 1804). The core idea is that real human beings are given the ability tounderstand based on empirical experience and actually also able to gain an understanding of the human being that is the essence of symptoms. Transcendental Idealist, thus dynamic, moving to look for values   that are useful for life. Transcendental Idealist thought then be adopted Kelsen (18811973) in the teaching of normativity in legal positivism (legal positivism). Pemikiran filsafat dogmatik menolak alternatif keyakinan (belief) lain dalam berpikir. Pemikiran filsafat dogmatik bermula dari ajaran Plato (428-347 SM) dan tercermin dalam keberlakuanhukum. A survey of the printed word, including local and national papers as well as weekly journals over the past ten years, would show an increasing proportion of column inches devoted to issues arising out of physical planning — those issues involving such concepts as ‘environment’, ‘conservation’, ‘amenity’ and ‘leisure space’. As a society, we are becoming increasingly preoccupied with our physical environment and on the whole this preoccupation takes the form of fears for the future. Such fears must begin with two propositions: that the environment (or at least some of its important aspects) is changing rapidly and that this is a matter which affects our general well-being.

In this interview, Sharon Klein, the Head of School at St. George’s School of Montreal, discusses how health and well-being are integrated in the curriculum and school life. Since its beginning in 1930, St. George’s has operated on six founding principles, the first of which is “health comes first.” Ms. Klein describes how this principle is being applied—yoga, mindfulness, exercise literacy—and further describes how they have developed the Core 5 Program, based on current research, to meet the needs of today’s students. She concludes by sharing her vision of health and well-being in the future.

Widespread hunger in the world is due mainly to the fact that people don’t care enough about one another’s well-being. Caring can be increased by encouraging social interaction. This can be done in many different ways, but the core idea here is to help people produce food for themselves. Many people who produce food in their own gardens gladly share it with their neighbors. They also share their knowledge and enthusiasm for gardening. This is a huge underutilized resource. The project proposed here is intended to facilitate that sharing.

Only one fact is certain about the future of genetic research: it will continue to raise ethical challenges for scientists, research participants, clinicians and patients (Faraone et al, 1999). Ethical issues are of concern in all branches of medicine and genetics, but they are of particular concern in the field of psychiatric genetics. This is because of the special nature of psychiatry, and its position at the intersection of the disciplines of psychology, sociology and medicine. The concern is also related to the perceived subject matter of psychiatry: the core thoughts, feelings and emotions by which we define ourselves as human beings. Many are perturbed by the idea that modifying genes could modify these features. By ‘interfering’ with our genetic heritage, it is perceived that our essential humanity is coming under threat, and the possible outcomes of this interference are worryingly unknown.

AbstractThis article is the result of the analysis of the film "The Capital" (Le Capitale), released on October 4, 2013 (1h53min). Direction: Costa-Gavras. Cast: Gad Elmaleh, Gabriel Byrne, Natacha Régnier; Genres: Drama, Thriller. Nationality: France. The aforementioned cinematographic work challenges the financialization of the world, of the social and individual relations in which contemporary society is involved. The credit that replaced the idea of money in the individual and social imaginary, but which preserves its "essential" condition as that which awakens reactions, passions, desires mobilizing vital forces, determining the expectations of life, the future of human beings and societies, Presents itself in the form of transcendence. Thus, in the condition of transcendence requires worship, sacrifice and, above all, unconditional belief in its conditions of realization of its promises of an economy of salvation. The financialisation of spaces and vital times in which societies and individuals move, marks the intensification of the political action carried out among men with the aim of enhancing the public space as the locus par excellence of well-being and the pursuit of happiness. The dogma of financialization affirms day after day that happiness can be bought and, enjoyed individually, it is enough to have credit, to have faith in the future.

The commentaries by Rimé (2018) and Scherer (2018) underscore and extend many of the central themes discussed in our target article (Sbarra & Coan, 2018). This response filters the commentaries through the lens of our review article and highlights the core idea that relationships provide a vital context for the types of emotional responding outlined in the commentaries, including the social sharing of emotion (an inherently interpersonal process) as well as the link between emotional competence and physical health (which can unfold both within and between people).
