Need Pattern, Job Satisfaction and Mental Health among IT Professionals

The present study designed to assess the need pattern, mental health and job satisfaction among male and female IT professionals. It also aimed to find out the relationship between need pattern, job satisfaction and mental health. The sample includes 60 subjects working in different IT companies like WIPRO, HCL, IBM, etc. and were divided equally on the basis of their genders i.e. male (N=30) and female (N=30). Need Pattern Scale, Job Satisfaction Scale and Mental Health Inventory were used to collect data. Obtained scores were analysed with the help of t-test and correlation coefficient. Findings of the study demonstrated a significant difference between male and female IT professionals only on the aggression and power dimensions of need patterns and total scores. Regarding job satisfaction both the group differed only on economy statement dimension. As far as mental health is concerned they showed significant difference on all dimension except perception of reality and integrating personality. No significant relationship observed between mental health and job satisfaction and need pattern irrespective of their gender.

The main objective of the present study is to examine the job satisfaction among government and private employees. A sample of 60 male and female employees was drawn randomly drawn from the population. The Generic Job Satisfaction Scale: Scale Development and Its Correlates, developed by Scott Macdonald and Peter Maclntyre (1997) was used for data collection. Data was collected by face to face interview method from the target population from different originations of Anand district. Mean, standard deviation and t-test were calculated for the analysis of data. Results indicate that there is no significant difference among government and private employees in job satisfaction.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan antara Physical Self-Concept (PSC)dengan Body Mass Index (BMI)serta perbedaan PSC dan BMI berdasarkan gender. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah assosiasonal (correlational dan kausal-komparatif). Sample berjumlah 59 orang siswa remaja SMA di Kabupaten Ciamis. Instrument yang digunakan untuk mengukur PSC adalah Physical Self Description Questionnaire (PSDQ). Untuk menguji hubungan antara PSC dan BMI digunakan koefisien korelasi, dan untuk uji beda digunakan independent sample t-test. Hasil pengolahan dan analisis menunjukan bahwa, (1) tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan antara PSC dan BMI (p 0.05); (2) tidak terdapat perbedaan BMI yang signifikan antara laki-laki dan perempuan (p 0.05); (3) terdapat perbedaan PSC yang signifikan  antara laki-laki dan perempuan (p 0.05).This study aims to examine the relationship between Physical Self-Concept (PSC) and Body Mass Index (BMI) and differences in PSC and BMI based on gender. The aim of this research paper is to find out job satisfaction among male and female teachers in Faridabad schools. Total number of 100 teachers was assigned in two groups of male and female teachers in primary and senior sections. A survey type study was designed to find out the job satisfaction and occupational stress among teachers. In this study the tool was used Job Satisfaction Scale (J.S.S) by Dr. Amar Singh and Dr. D. R. Sharma. Data was treated by Mean, SD, and T-Test. The finding of the study revealed that there was a significant difference among teachers in their job satisfaction and occupational stress.

Teaching is a highly noble profession and teachers are always a boon to the society. The ultimate process of education could be simplified as a meaningful interaction between the teacher and the taught. The teacher thus plays a direct and crucial role in molding a pupil towards education. Since a teacher is a role model for the students, job satisfaction and professional commitment of teachers become very vital in the fields of education. Thus the researcher felt the need to investigate the job satisfaction in relation to professional commitment of secondary school teachers. The sample of this study consisted of 300 teachers selected from Punjab in India. Job Satisfaction Scale standardized by Dr. (Mrs.) Meera Dixit (1993) and Professional Commitment scale developed by Dr. Ravinder Kaur and Sarabjit Kaur (2011) was administered to collect the data. The result indicates that there exists a significant difference between male and female secondary school teachers in their job satisfaction and there exists no significant difference between male and female secondary school teachers in their professional commitment. Further result shows that there exists positive significant relationship between job satisfaction and professional commitment. This proves that job satisfaction and professional commitment are significantly related to each other.

The study aimed to determine the relationship between organizational commitment and job satisfaction of individuals working in the sports sector. The sample of the study consisted of a total of 496 people (375 males and 121 females), who were working in a private company operating in the sports sector in Istanbul, and selected by easy sampling method. In addition to the personal information form, the “Organizational Commitment Scale” developed by Meyer and Allen (1984, 1997) and adapted to Turkish by Boylu et al. (2007), and the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale, developed by Weiss et al. (1967) and adapted into Turkish by Baycan (1985) were used as data collection tools. Analyzes were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 package program. Independent t-test, ANOVA and Pearson Correlation analyses were performed to analyse the data. In addition, the analyzes were performed at a 95% confidence interval. Analysis results showed that there was a significant difference in the continuance commitment sub-dimension of individuals according to the gender variable. It was determined that there was a significant difference in both the job satisfaction levels and the affective and normative commitment levels of the individuals according to their welfare status. Moreover, it was determined that there was a significant difference in all sub-dimensions of the job satisfaction scale and in all sub-dimensions of the organizational commitment scale according to the educational status of the participants. As a result, it was determined that there was a positive and moderate relationship between “Affective Commitment” and “Continuance Commitment” and “Internal Satisfaction” and “External Satisfaction”. Another result, it was determined that the organizational commitment and job satisfaction levels of the individuals differed according to their socio-demographic characteristics, and as the affective and continuance commitment of the individuals increased, their job satisfaction increased.

In present study the researcher investigated the level of job satisfaction among the private and government school teachers. Total 200 government and private school teachers were taken from Ranchi town. In this research, 100 government and 100 private school teachers, 200 in total, working in different government and private schools were examined. Job satisfaction scale developed by Muthayya (1973) was used to measured job satisfaction. To test the hypotheses ‘t’ test was calculated. Result showed that there was no significant difference between government and private school teachers. Furthermore, it was again revealed that there was no significant difference in the level of job satisfaction of male and female school teachers.

The creativity skills of individuals have started to gain importance in adapting to today's changing conditions. In this context, teachers need to transfer their individual creativity to the organizational environment. In order to do this, they need to provide personal pleasure and satisfaction from their work. The main aim of this study is to examine the relationship between preschool teachers' individual and administrative creativity and job satisfaction. The study, which is designed as relational survey model, was carried out with 173 preschool teachers. The data obtained from Personal Information Form, Organizational Creativity Scale and Job Satisfaction Scale. As a result of the research, the organizational creativity scores of preschool teachers in the dimension of individual creativity showed a significant difference according to the type of institution, and no difference was found according to the status of wanting to do a different profession, the number of students in the class, professional seniority and weekly working hours. There was a difference in the administrative creativity of teachers according to the type of institution, their willingness to do a different profession and the number of students in the classroom, while professional seniority and weekly working hours make no difference. There was a difference among teachers' job satisfaction scores according to the type of institution, their willingness to do a different profession, and the number of children in the classroom, but not according to professional seniority and weekly working hours. According to the result of the research it can be claimed that as the organizational creativity scores of preschool teachers in individual and administrative dimensions increased, their job satisfaction increased too. It was suggested that conditions improving organizational creativity and job satisfactions of preschool teachers should be given place in schools.

The purpose of the present study was to compare occupational stress, job satisfaction & mental health among employees of government and non-government sectors. In the present study the data was collected from government and non-government sectors (schools, colleges, companies & banks). A sample of 100 employees (50 government employees and 50 non-government employees) was selected randomly.  The sample was equally distributed as per the gender. For this purpose of investigation “Occupational Stress Index” develop by Dr. A.K.Srivastava & Dr. A.P.Singh , Job Satisfaction Scale develop by Dr.Amar Singh & Dr. T.R.Sharma , and Employee’s Mental Health Inventory develop by Dr. Jagdish were used. Data was analyzed using Mean’s, SD’s and t values. The finding showed that there is no significant difference in occupational stress, job satisfaction and mental health with respect to both sectors and gender. Result also showed that job satisfaction and mental health (0.149) dimensions were found positively correlated and job satisfaction (-0.186) and mental health (-0.108) were found negatively correlated with occupational stress.

<p style="text-align: justify;">This research aims to determine the relationship between school principals' cultural intelligence level and teachers' job satisfaction and intention to leave. The relational survey model was used in this study. The data of the research were collected from 800 teachers working in public middle schools in the central districts of Mersin Province in the 2020-2021 academic year. The data were collected through Personal Information Form, Cultural Intelligence Scale, Job Satisfaction Scale, and Intention to Leave Scale. The data were analyzed through correlation analysis, Structural Equation Modeling and Sobel Test. According to the results of the research, a strong, positive and significant relationship was found between the cultural intelligence level of school principals and the job satisfaction of teachers. A strong, negative, and significant relationship was determined between the cultural intelligence level of school principals and teachers' intention to leave. A strong, negative, and significant relationship was determined between teachers' job satisfaction and their intention to leave. It was found that the cultural intelligence level of school principals negatively predicted teachers' intention to leave. It was also determined that cultural intelligence levels of school principals negatively predicted teachers' intention to leave through job satisfaction, and teachers’ job satisfaction was a partial mediator of the relationship between the cultural intelligence levels of school principals and teachers' intention to leave. It was suggested that candidates with high cultural intelligence levels should be given priority in the appointment process of school principals.</p>

Background: The aim of this study was the survey of the relationship of parenting practice, creativity and parent’s mental health with intelligence quotient and behavioral disorder of 7-8 years old children in Qaemshahr city. Methods: In this cross-sectional descriptive-analytical study. The statistical population consisted of seven and eight years old children in Qaemshahr city in 2017. Three hundred children among them selected with stratified random sampling. Data gathered by Baumrind parenting practices questionnaire, Thurstone and Mellinger creativity questionnaire, Derogatis mental health, Wechsler intelligence scale for children and Rutter children’s behavioral disorder. Data analysis executed by one-way ANOVA test and Pearson correlation with SPSS 22. Results: The results showed that there is no significant difference between behavioral disorder rate of boys & girls (P<0.05). Also, there is the significant relationship among parenting practices with intelligence quotient and children behavioral disorder (P<0.05), while there was no significant relationship between intelligence quotient and children’s behavioral disorder with creativity (P<0.05). Moreover, there was a significant relationship between mental health with behavioral disorder among children (P<0.05), however, there was no significant relationship with intelligence quotient (P<0.05). Conclusion: According to research results we can conclude that welfare and educational equipment’s by short-term, medium-term and long-term planning may enhance health and mental comfort among families with their children’s behavioral disorders.
