<p><strong><em>Abstract</em></strong>: <em>This community service aims to provide counseling on solution to develop students language skills. The language skills must be development from an early age. Throught this activity, students can practice cognitive, affective, and psycomotorik development. Lack of interest in reading students so that it affects writing productivity can be said to be very less.</em><em> </em><em>This activity is very well done in the environment.</em><em> </em><em>It also can broaden students' insights, another benefit that can be taken in this activity is that it can improve their language skill. These effective reading and creative writing activities involve school-age students at Cawang Baru 1 High School.</em><em> </em><em>In this counseling and community service program, it will focus on training activities in effective reading and creative writing.</em><em> </em><em>By giving direction and socialization, it is hoped that (1) students will increase understanding in receiving information, (2) will foster students' confidence in conveying the information they can, (3) improve their language skills in a bigger forum, (4 ) gave birth to a creative generation in producing works through language.</em><em> </em><em>This community service program is also expected to be able to contribute in efforts to develop students' language skills as a future generation</em></p><p><strong>Abstrak: </strong>Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan penyuluhan bagaimana solusi  mengembangkan keterampilan peserta didik dalam berbahasa. Keterampilan berbahasa harus dikembangkan sejak dini. Melalui kegiatan ini peserta didik dapat melatih perkembangan kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik. Kurangnya minat membaca peserta didik sehingga memengaruhi produktivitas menulis dapat dikatakan sangat kurang. Kegiatan ini sangat baik dilakukan di lingkungan tersebut. Selain itu juga dapat menambah wawasan peserta didik, manfaat lain yang bisa diambil dalam kegiatan ini yaitu dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berbahasa mereka. Kegiatan membaca efektif dan menulis kreatif ini melibatkan peserta didik usia sekolah yang dilakukan di SMA 1 Cawang Baru. Pada program penyuluhan dan pengabdian masyarakat ini, akan berfokus pada kegiatan pelatihan membaca efektif dan menulis kreatif. Dengan diberikan pengarahan dan sosialisasi, diharapkan (1) akan meningkatkan pemahaman peserta didik dalam menerima informasi, (2) akan menumbuhkan rasa percaya diri peserta didik untuk menyampaikan informasi yang mereka dapat, (3) meningkatkan keterampilan berbahasa merekadi forum yang lebih besar, (4) melahirkan generasi yang kreatif dalam menghasilkan karya melalui bahasa. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini juga diharapkan mampu memberi kontribusi dalam upaya pengembangan keterampilan berbahasa peserta didik sebagai generasi di masa depan.</p>

These community service activities are carried out in the Tahunan Village, Sale District, Rembang. The existence of arts groups in the village still requires assistance from human resource such as trainer. Therefore, this service aims to 1) strengthen the position of the arts group to be more empowered; 2) increasing the number of group members from young people; 3) improve the skills of group members in musical, orchestrating, and dancing; and 4) increase the income of group members. The method used in this community service program is training and mentoring. The results of this program are: 1) The arts group already has a name and routinely conducts meetings and training activities; 2) members of group from the school age and young adults are increasing; 3) the art group is known outside the Sale District and gets a performance offer.

Teacher as one of the important key factors in education must enhance the quality of their knowledge both theoretical, skills, and expertise. For this reason, the community service program held by Department of Biology, FMIPA, Mulawarman University, Samarinda aimed to improve the practical skills of high school teachers. This program was attended by 16 teachers from various high schools from the Samarinda region and Tenggarong. The community service program consisted of 25% theory and 75% practice in one day. The theory about DNA isolation, polymerase chain reaction, and electrophoresis was done in the classroom. Meanwhile, in laboratory, the use of molecular biology equipment, electrophoresis, interpretation results of electrophoretic DNA bands, and NCBI was done by the teachers which is assisted by the laboratory assistant. In the end of the program, the skill of laboratory practice of teachers was improve, indicating by the increasing percentage of understanding about biology molecular skills.

Canadian schools introduced community service program in 1999 to engage youth in diverse communities of Canada. Many studies have identified the gap in understanding immigrant youths&rsquo; experience on mandatory community service but has yet to study immigrant youth&rsquo;s experience. Therefore, this paper explores the experiences of young Nepalese Canadians aged 18- 24 who participated in mandatory community involvement for graduating from high schools in Ontario, Canada. The findings are based on qualitative data gathered from ten interviews with young Nepalese Canadians who went to Canadian high schools, and are currently living in the Greater Toronto area (GTA). The study provides a nuanced understanding of visible minority immigrant youth&rsquo;s experiences of mandatory community service in high school. The findings suggest that participants experience the program as merely an obligatory requirement to graduate from high school rather than a platform for learning civic skills and engaging in diverse Canadian communities. In addition, this case study of Nepalese Canadian youth depicts how young Nepalese Canadians depend on informal sources, mainly peer-to-peer sharing, for engaging in community, and illustrates how they conceptualize what community involvement means to them. Finally, based on this study, we argue that amendment to this mandatory program is an urgent call for engaging visible minority immigrant youth civically and meaningfully in Canadian communities.

Abstrak: Pengetahuan tentang kebersihan gigi dan mulut sangat penting untuk terbentuknya tindakan dalam menjaga kebersihan gigi dan mulut. Kebersihan gigi dan mulut dilakukan untuk mencegah penyakit gigi dan mulut, meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh, dan memperbaiki fungsi mulut untuk meningkatkan nafsu makan. Menjaga kebersihan gigi dan mulut pada usia sekolah merupakan salah satu cara dalam meningkatkan kesehatan pada usia dini. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pengetahuan kebersihan gigi dan mulut siswa SMA Negeri 9 Manado sudah cukup baik yang mencapai hasil 95,00%. Status kebersihan gigi dan mulut siswa SMA Negeri 9 Manado dilihat melalui pemeriksaan OHI-S dengan siswa yang memiliki OHI-S baik (48,75%), OHI-S sedang (51,25%) dan tidak ada yang memiliki OHI-S yang buruk. Kata kunci: pengetahuan, kebersihan gigi dan mulut, usia sekolah.     Abstract: Knowledge about oral hygiene is essential for the formation of action in maintaining oral hygiene. Oral hygiene to prevent gum disease, increase endurance, and improve the function of the mouth to enhance appetite. Maintain oral hygiene at school age is one way to improve health at an early age. Results of this study indicate that the level of knowledge of oral hygiene 9 Manado State high school students has been good enough to reach the result 95.00%. Dental and oral hygiene status of students of SMA Negeri 9 Manado seen through examination OHI-S with the majority of students have a good OHI-S (48.75%) and moderate (51.25%) and no one has a bad OHI-S. Key words: knowledge, oral hygiene, school age.

Saving is setting aside some of the money you have to save and can be used later when needed. Saving is one way to manage finances to meet our needs. At the Community Service this time, the theme was the importance of saving from an early age held on 28-30 October 2018 in the village of Jampang, Bogor. What is taught to save is that children from school age because saving is a positive thing especially if done from a young age? The method used is the presentation of material that is easy to understand and interesting for children. Savings media that are made by them using used bottles are very interesting things for them. Most of the parents of these children are fish farmers whose income is volatile, so the lecturers teach children to be able to set aside their allowances to be more useful later. And is expected to be able to help them especially to meet their school costs and needs.

Jamu (herbal medicine) is included in traditional health drinks that its processing is often less hygienic. The purpose of this community service program is to improve the cleanliness of the herbal medicine-making process in the herbal medicine group in Malang through the provision of hygienic herbal medicine processing machines. Community service activities were carried out in 2018 by involving herbal medicine groups in Tegalgondo and Jetis Villages, Malang. The community service activities included analyzing the conditions and needs of partners, designing herbal medicine machines as needed, as well as assisting the use of machines. The implementation methods in this service program were discussion and training. The result of this service activity was an increase in partner knowledge regarding the importance of hygiene and the use of appropriate technology in herbal medicine processing. After the training was carried out, service partners began to be moved to process jamu more hygienically. Furthermore, assistance and technology-based marketing training activities also need to be carried out.

It is currently endeavored to try to learn science learning from an early age to children, especially in kindergarten. Learning is directed towards creative and critical thinking that is able to direct children's high order thinking skills. The community service program with the PKM-M scheme was carried out at TK PGRI, Palattae Village, Bone Regency regarding the problems of teachers as partners in teaching science in the classroom to make it easier and more interactive through the design of a science corner (Sci-Co). This service was carried out in three main stages, namely counseling, design, and dissemination of the Sci-Co design. Learning using Sci-Co will be able to make children more critical and able to analyze events or phenomena that are often encountered in a child's environment, such as rain. Even though this program is conducted online, it is able to build teachers' skills in presenting Sci-Co in a simple way, the result of the teacher's own creativity with less than one week of processing time at the same time the teacher claims that this Sci-Co will help him accommodate children's knowledge in learning so that it is more meaningful less than one hour.

Skill Development with Cooking Training for Guramek Fish Dishes to the Extra-Curricular Group of Food Catering Students at Permai Pluit High School Jakarta. Cooking is an art to process raw materials into a ready eat the dish with proper cooking methods. To be able to cook well and properly, people need training the right way. Pelita Harapan School of Hospitality and Tourism carry out community service cooking training activities aimed at the cooking club at Permai Senior High School Pluit Jakarta. The purpose of this community service is to share cooking skill and knowledge with the member of the cooking club at Permai High School Pluit Jakarta since they need assistance to improve their cooking and food presentation skill. A pre-test was conducted before the training to find out the basic skill and knowledge of cooking especially gurame fish; the ending of community service activities was carried out in the post-test to determine the effectiveness of the gurame cooking training that had done. Cooking training activities to the member of the cooking class Permai High School Students has a positive influence because the cooking club member became more skillfully and understand in processing gurame into various Nusantara Recipes.

[Bahasa]: Program PKM  ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan: (1) keterampilan guru merancang dan mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis multimedia interaktif; (2) keterampilan guru dalam pelaksanaan pelatihan dan respon guru SMP N 8 Sungai Kakap Kabupaten Kubu Raya  melalui kegiatan ini yang meliputi penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis multimedia interaktif. Metode yang digunakan adalah adalah metode deskrptif. Langkah-langkah yang digunakan yaitu sosialisasi, ceramah, latihan dan pendampingan, evaluasi. Pelaksanaan dilakukan sebanyak 5 kali pertemuan, dimana pertemuan pertama berupa penyajian materi, dan dilanjutkan dengan pendampingan pembuatan media hingga selesai, dan terakhir dilakukan evaluasi berupa peserta mempresentasikan media yang telah dibuat dan respon peserta terhadap pelatihan melalui pengisian angket. Hasil yang diperoleh peserta dapat membuat media pembelajaran berbasis multimedia interaktif menggunakan software sothink swf easy. Hasil respon peserta  melalui wawancara diperoleh hasil 100% peserta memberikan respon positif terhadap pernyataan positif yang dimintai tanggapan. Selain itu, 75% peserta memberikan saran untuk terus melaksanakan kegiatan pelatihan ini secara berkala. Kata Kunci: media, multimedia, interaktif [English]: The purposes of this community service program are to improve: (1) teacher skills in designing and developing interactive multimedia-based learning media; (2) the skills of teachers in the implementation of training and response of teachers in Sungai Nap Middle School 8 N Kubu Raya District through this activity which includes the use of interactive multimedia-based learning media. The method used is descriptive method. The steps used are socialization, lecture, training and mentoring, evaluation. The implementation was carried out in the five meetings. The first meeting was in the form of material presentation, and continued with assistance in making the media to completion, and finally an evaluation in the form of participants presenting the media that had been made and participants' responses to the training through filling out questionnaires. The results obtained by participants can make interactive multimedia-based learning media using Sothink Swf easy software. The results of the participants' responses through interviews showed that 100% of participants responded positively to the positive statements asked for responses. In addition, 75% of participants gave suggestions to continue to carry out these training activities regularly. Keywords: media, multimedia, interactive
