In the constantly changing conditions of the external environment, with the modern development of science and technology, with a high level of competition, the success of an organization's functioning lies in its timely ability to effectively respond to market demands. An enterprise's resistance to external and internal threats is determined by the level of its economic security. In other words, the economic security of an enterprise is the state of its protection from the negative influence of external and internal threats, destabilizing factors, under which the sustainable implementation of the main commercial interests and goals of the statutory activities is achieved. It is extremely important to conduct a systematic analysis of the management of the economic security of enterprises, develop effective methods for assessing the current level of security in companies and improve mechanisms for increasing economic security to improve the competitiveness of Russian business in modern market realities. The concept of economic security includes a whole range of functional components. In addition to financial security, the system of economic security includes personnel, technological, market, legal, interface, environmental, information and power components, which equally affect the well-being of the company. And only when comprehensive measures are taken to improve each functional component, a high, competitive level of economic security can be achieved. It is extremely important to understand the essence of the economic security of an enterprise, to study methodological approaches to assessing the current level of economic security and to learn how to correctly use the mechanisms to improve it.

The main problems connected with modelling of complex technological systems of greenhouse production are considered. The methodological approaches used at present on the basis of classical comparative analysis with subsequent heuristic conclusions are analysed. Based on the study of this issue, it was concluded that the development and implementation of innovative technologies that affect the individual subsystems of the greenhouse complex do not provide the optimal solution to improve the energy efficiency of the system as a whole. There is a need to create a new synergistic technological paradigm for abandoning costly full-scale models and developing models with a high level of adequacy of real technological processes.

Introduction. The system, wich is designed to ensure the rational use of budget funds, functions in Ukraine imperfectly. It is important to scan the experience of foreign countries and introduce the best experience in domestic practice. Purpose is to formulate the scientific approaches to integrated assessment of the efficiency of local budget expenditures, considering foreign experience. Results. The mechanism for ensuring the efficient use of budgetary funds in Scotland is built in the modern period of history, considering current challenges, opportunities for implementation and the results of relevant scientific research. Implementation of measures to increase the efficiency of budget expenditures took place as a reaction to a high level of distrust of the government and its activities. The main measures aimed at controlling the effectiveness of budget expenditures are based on four basic provisions: the validity of budget revenues and expenditures, their balance; priority of budget expenditures; the value and quality of public services; organization of the budget process, namely the integration of planning of management and financial activities. The main findings of the study of the experience of financial control in Scotland are as follows: the complexity of financial control over the efficiency of budget expenditures, the integration into the system of tools for reforming the budget process, developed methods for evaluating the efficiency of local budget expenditures are universal for different entities of control. Based on the experience of ensuring the efficiency of budgetary expenditures in Scotland, it is substantiated that the efficiency of budget expenditures is not appropriate to be determined by a specific indicator, but it is appropriate to comprehensively assess the compliance of expenditures with a number of criteria. The most important of them should be four criteria: observance of democratic procedures for planning and implementation of the local budget; assessment of compliance of budget expenditures with public priorities; analysis of budget programs implementation and achievement of planned targets; exploration of the value of services. The research-based criteria for assessing the effectiveness of local budgets are important not only for the development of the concept of building a control system, but also have an applied value. The methodological approaches formulated in research were applied in the research both of the local budget and of a separate line of expenditures. Conclusions. The experience of the organization of financial control of the efficiency of budgetary expenditures in Scotland indicates a number of its positive qualities, which make it possible to realize the main purpose of government policy - to increase the level of public confidence in the government. Methodological approaches to the organization of monitoring the effectiveness, are formulated on the basis of Scottish experience. The developed approaches can be applied not only in scientific researches, but also they are suitable for application. Ulterior scientific research may focus on formalizing the methodology for analyzing the efficiency of local budget expenditures. This will enable, in particular, to substantially expand the applied component of methodological approaches and facilitate their application in practice, which is important given the continued growing topicality of the effective management of local budgets in terms of expanding their resources and critical assessment of the society's effectiveness of their use.

The need for STEM specialists is growing in current technologically-oriented economy. This calls for new approaches in evaluation and development of relevant abilities and skills. However, the current educational systems might miss some students who have high potential for this field or who can develop such potential. For example, according to the results of one Russian study, gifted children may be missed by existing methods of talent search, partially due to the lack of standardised psychometric tests, especially of abilities beyond verbal and numerical abilities. One important predictor of STEM, often neglected in education, is spatial ability. Recently an online short spatial ability battery (OSSAB) for use in adolescent popula-tions was developed. However, no published norms are available. The aim of this study was to develop normalised thresholds for spatial ability testing using OSSAB battery with Russian 13-17 year old schoolchildren. Schoolchildren from the Sirius Educational Centre, demonstrating high achievement in 3 different areas: science (N = 640; 238 females), sports (N = 436; 67 females) and art (N = 260; 204 females), and schoolchildren (N = 752; 350 females) from general education schools of the Russian Federation participated in the study. Age of participants: 13-17 (M = 15.01; SD = 1.18). The study identified thresholds for 8 spatial ability levels: from Very low ability to Extraordinary giftedness. These thresholds can be used by teachers and school psychologists to determine the level of spatial ability in schoolchildren of 13-17 years of age. Based on individual students’ current levels of spatial ability, teachers can provide individual support and recommendations. For high performance recommendations may include additional clas-ses in STEM or natural sciences, for example, electronics, robotics, programming, physics or chemistry. For lower performance recommendations may include computer games containing spatial components; sports; playing musical instruments; origami classes; and studying the Chinese language. More broadly, school curricula in different subjects should include more spatial elements, such as: inclusion of stereometric tasks in learning materials; computer pro-grams for modelling in teaching geometry and other subjects; adding visualizations (graphs and tables) when explaining material. Overall, the results of this study suggest that a significant number of children have very low or very high level of spatial ability in both mainstream schools and in educational centres for high-preforming students. The norms developed in this study can be used for identification and individualized support in all educational settings.

Existing methodological approaches to assessing the level of economic security of Ukrainian banks are revealed and the need to improve them is substantiated. The author proposes the method of determining the level of economic security of banks at the micro level. Estimated values of economic security indicators and their assessment in points made it possible to group institutions by the level of economic security and to determine the positioning of banks depending on ownership. Institutions with a high level of economic security include banks, which, according to 8 indicators, have accumulated a total number of 61 to 80 points. A satisfactory level of economic security is characteristic of banks, whose quantitative assessment for a certain amount of indicators ranges from 41 to 60 points. Low levels of economic security are inherent in institutions with an overall score of 21-40. Institutions with a critical level of security include banks with a total score of up to 20 points, whose activities are accompanied by violations of indicator values and destabilizing effects on the banking system. The validation of this methodology was carried out in all solvent banks of Ukraine, which operated in 2015 and 2019. Based on the grouping of institutions by the level of economic security, the threats and dangers that accompanied the activities of banks were identified. The main threats to the economic security of state-owned banks were: the highest share of problem loans in the aggregate loan portfolio, risk of operating activities, reduction of their lending activity. Institutions of foreign banking groups were largely characterized by high, satisfactory, and low levels of economic security. This methodological toolkit is suggested to be used to strengthen the market position and increase the security of the functioning of Ukrainian banks.

Based on the study of modern domestic and foreign literature, the article reveals a variety of methodological approaches to the phenomenon of social gifting. The structure, essence, stages and functions of the gift act are analyzed. It is shown that a social gift is a non-verbal means of communication, a carrier of encoded information about the gift giver, the gift acceptor and the gift situation itself, aimed at establishing, maintaining and strengthening long-term social ties. The informational and symbolic effects of gift are disclosed, it is said about the change in the communication properties of a gift in modern society. The authors of the article showed that in a communication society, along with the positive aspects of social donation (ease of transmission, high level of emotionality, high social impact, etc.), negative aspects are also inevitable: an increase in the moment of uncertainty, non-guaranteed positivity of the consequences of the gift. The analysis of new forms of social gift: virtual gifts, digital gifts, gifts through social networks — is of particular interest. The authors investigate the new social risks of such gifts: insufficient privacy, excessive openness, the danger of losing the national-cultural component of the gift act, etc. The article is of great interest to all who study social transformations taking place in a communication society.

Integrating the arts with mixed methods research (MMR) presents untapped potential for innovative methodological approaches. Arts and MMR integration exists on a continuum, ranging from low-level (e.g., communicating about MMR using art) to high-level integration (e.g., interweaving arts-based and MMR approaches), and myriad art forms are available to facilitate concept formation, data collection, analysis, and representation. Given that a primary objective of the arts and MMR respectively is to explore and understand the complex social world, arts–MMR integration has potential to enable insights not possible through the use of either approach in isolation, and to present new opportunities for transformative social change. In this article, we explore such potentials and intersections philosophically and methodologically by way of four case examples framed by the newly conceptualized Art-MMR Integration Continuum, which ranges from communicative, data source, analytic, and conceptual integration.

AbstractIn recent years, we have been witnessing a rapid increase of research on exergames—i.e., computer games that require users to move during gameplay as a form of physical activity and rehabilitation. Properly balancing the need to develop an effective exercise activity with the requirements for a smooth interaction with the software system and an engaging game experience is a challenge. Model-driven software engineering enables the fast prototyping of multiple system variants, which can be very useful for exergame development. In this paper, we propose a framework, PhyDSLK, which eases the development process of personalized and engaging Kinect-based exergames for rehabilitation purposes, providing high-level tools that abstract the technical details of using the Kinect sensor and allows developers to focus on the game design and user experience. The system relies on model-driven software engineering technologies and is made of two main components: (i) an authoring environment relying on a domain-specific language to define the exergame model encapsulating the gameplay that the exergame designer has envisioned and (ii) a code generator that transforms the exergame model into executable code. To validate our approach, we performed a preliminary empirical evaluation addressing development effort and usability of the PhyDSLK framework. The results are promising and provide evidence that people with no experience in game development are able to create exergames with different complexity levels in one hour, after a less-than-two-hour training on PhyDSLK. Also, they consider PhyDSLK usable regardless of the exergame complexity.
