Federalism and Political stability are two concepts that are of significance to all modern societies. Federalism promotes pluralism and dispersal of power which is good for a multi-ethnic society like Nigeria. But in Nigeria, the practice has generated unending tensions among the individuals, communities and ethnic groups within it. However, this study argues that healthy federalism is a political panacea for ethnic violence, governance crisis and political instability in Nigeria. This study empirically examined the relationship between federalism and political stability in Nigeria. The study adopted a descriptive and casual research design as well as the survey method. In the investigation, a total of 428 respondents were sampled using a structured questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Pearson product-moment correlation and linear regression analysis. Findings revealed that federalism has a positive and significant relationship with political stability in Nigeria at (R = .732, R2 = 614 at p = 0.000). The statistical result shows that there is a strong relationship between federalism and political stability in Nigeria and that federalism accounts for 61.4% of variations in political stability in Nigeria. Requisite conclusions and recommendations were provided in the light of empirical and theoretical findings.

This study examined the imperative of accounting ethics in adopting fraud preventive measures in Nigeria. To achieve this objective, the survey research design was adopted while primary data was sourced through structured questionnaire. Data collected were analyzed using Descriptive statistical tools (tables, frequency distribution and percentages) and Spearman’s Nonparametric Correlation. It was discovered that the effectiveness of other fraud preventive measures depends to a large extent on the level of ethical compliance by accountants. Findings also revealed that compliance with ethical codes is an effective way to prevent fraud. Hence, strict enforcement by relevant professional bodies will increase the compliance level, thereby reducing the incidences of fraud in Nigeria. It was concluded that accounting ethics plays significant role in the adoption of fraud preventive measures in Nigeria. Therefore, it is recommended that organizations should adopt measures that will encourage accountants to discharge their responsibilities in accordance with the requirements of the ethical code without undue influence or pressure from management. Furthermore, accounting bodies should put in place strict monitoring and disciplinary measures that will ensure compliance with ethical principles. This will restore the confidence and reputation of the accounting profession as trustees and watchdogs of the society.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the moderating influence of organizational climate in the relationship between job stress and intent to stay. Design/methodology/approach This study has used a non-probability sampling design for data collection. A semi-structured questionnaire has been prepared and a street survey has been carried out at popular public places in Macau. Findings This study shows that stressful employees working in organizations characterized by unsupportive organizational climate had far less desire to stay with the organization than those working in organizations with supportive organizational climate. Research limitations/implications Street intercept survey is a technique of convenience sampling. This makes it difficult to generalize the study’s findings to the entire population. Originality/value Few studies to date have paid attention to the influence of organizational climate between job stress and intent to stay. The multi-industry context from which the data are collected suggests that the results and findings are useful to managers and practitioners from across a broad range of business sectors.

AbstractCompetition between companies relies on innovations from their employees. The potential of innovative employees could be developed since they were college students. One of the many ways to see their potential is by looking at how they perceive their capabilities, impacts, and means in academic settings, also known as learner empowerment. This study aims to look at the relationship between Learner Empowerment and Innovative Work Behavior in University of Indonesia college students. Participants of this research are 539 students above freshman year, gathered using the convenience sampling technique. The instrument used are the Innovative Work Behavior Scale by Janssen (2000) (? = 0,88) and the Learner Empowerment Scale by Frymier dkk. (1996) (? = 0,87), both instruments are adapted accordingly to suit the participants for this research. Analysis techniques used are Pearson's Correlation, Independent Sample T-Test, and One-way ANOVA. Results showed that there's a positive significant relationship between learner empowerment and innovative work behaviour. Dimensions of learner empowerment (meaningfulness, competence, impact) also have significant relationships to innovative work behaviour, with impact as the strongest determinant. Further research can explore other factors that explain the relationship between these two variables. Keywords: College Students; Correlational Research; Innovative Work Behavior; Learner Empowerment AbstrakPersaingan antar perusahaan pada masa ini membutuhkan ide inovatif dari karyawannya. Kata Kunci : Konformitas, Teman Sebaya, Perilaku Menyontek Cheating behavior among students is no longer a surprising phenomenon. There are many things that make a person cheat, one of which is due to the influence of the social environment, especially peers or peer conformity. The objective of this study was to find out the relationship between peer conformity and cheating behavior. The population of this study was 302 students while the samples were all students of class VII, a total of 84 students. The method used in the study was the saturated sampling. In this study, the researcher used the whole member of class VII as the samples due to the limited number of students that could be used as the samples. The instruments were two questionnaires, the peer conformity questionnaire and the cheating behavior questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Karl Pearson product moment correlation. Before conducting the correlation test, the normality test was first carried out. The results of the normality test showed that the data obtained were normally distributed with a significance value greater than 0.05 in peer conformity and cheating behavior of 0.200 and 0.211, respectively. The result of correlation analysis using 84 subjects was 0.579 with p> 0.05. Therefore, this study proved that there was a fairly strong positive relationship between the variables of peer conformity and cheating behavior. Keywords: Conformity, peers, cheating behavior
