Objective: To characterize the curricular training in the Nursing Course of a public educational institution. Methods: descriptive exploratory study, whose the population was of 61 students who attended the 8th and 9th period and were enrolled in the curricular training. The sample consisted of 44 students, who agreed in answer a form with open and closed questions. Data were typed in Excel version 2010 and organized in tables and graphs. Results: Majority of students were females, with age between 21 and 26 years. The traineeship was conducted predominantly in hospitals. When asked about the physical infrastructure of the institutions in which they performed the stage (43.18%) reported that they were appropriate and (43.18%) reported partially adequate. Interpersonal relationships between students, teachers, health staff and patients were considered adequate. Regarding the safety of students in the development of practical activities on stage (55%) reported that developed the practices with safety, (43%) with partial security, and (2%) with insecurity. The majority reported that taught theoretical contents were partially applied on stage. Conclusion: The curricular training presented aspects that promote student learning, however there was a centrality of the hospital as a field of practice of curricular training. Objetivo: Refletir sobre as contribuições do estágio curricular supervisionado no contexto da COVID-19 para o desenvolvimento profissional dos estudantes de Enfermagem. Método: Trata-se de um estudo de reflexão desenvolvido por docentes de um curso de Enfermagem que realizam a supervisão dos estudantes durante o estágio. Resultados: O estágio curricular supervisionado no contexto da COVID-19 proporciona aos estudantes de Enfermagem a possibilidade de vivenciar experiências únicas, de desenvolver sua identidade profissional por meio da liderança, à tomada de decisão e empodera estes no que tange ao seu papel. Ainda, contribui com as ações propostas pela Campanha Nursing Now no Brasil. Conclusão: O estágio curricular supervisionado no contexto da pandemia nos serviços de Atenção Básica fortalecem a educação e o desenvolvimento profissional dos estudantes e dá visibilidade à valorização da profissão.Descritores: Educação em Enfermagem; Estudantes de enfermagem; Infecções por coronavirus. SUPERVISED CURRICULAR INTERNSHIP IN THE CONTEXT OF COVID-19 AND THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF NURSING STUDENTSObjective: To reflect on the contributions of the supervised curricular internship in the context of COVID-19 for the professional development of Nursing students. Method: This is a reflection study developed by professors of a Nursing course who supervise students during the internship. Results: The supervised curricular internship in the context of COVID-19 provides Nursing students with the possibility of experiencing unique experiences, of developing their professional identity through leadership, decision-making and empowers them with regard to their role. It also contributes to the actions proposed by the Nursing Now Campaign in Brazil. ABSTRACT Objective: to understand the perception of alumni from a nursing course which uses active learning methods about their insertion in the job market. Methods: descriptive and exploratory study with a qualitative approach, carried out through 17 interviews with alumni from 2012 and 2014. The analysis took place using Dialectic Hermeneutics, as subsidized by the theoretical framework of the Theory of Complexity. Results: the statements of the alumni showed aspects related to safety to act in the job market, to stimulating proactivity and initiative for learning as proposed by the active method, to difficulties in teamwork, and to the lack of experience in certain specialized fields. Final Considerations: there are advances and challenges marked by contradictions in the way the alumni act and think as they enter the job market, which is an inherent condition to processes of change, from the perspective of complex thinking.

RESUMOObjetivo: avaliar a percepção de estresse em baixa, média e alta e a relação entre a percepção do estresse e características sociodemográficas em acadêmicos de Enfermagem. Método: estudo quantitativo, transversal, em que foram incluídos 136 acadêmicos de Enfermagem de uma instituição particular de ensino, com o uso do questionário sociodemográfico e a Escala de Estresse Percebido (PSS-14). Os resultados foram submetidos à análise estatística por meio do programa SPSS, versão 17.0. Os dados foram apresentados em tabelas. Resultados: a maioria dos acadêmicos (63=46,3%) apresenta média percepção de estresse. As variáveis sociodemográficas não apresentaram associação estatisticamente significativa com a percepção de estresse. Conclusão: número significativo de universitários apresenta média percepção de estresse. Observa-se que os acadêmicos casados e que ingerem bebida alcoólica apresentaram maior percepção. Já realizar atividade física auxilia em uma menor percepção de estresse. É relevante observar que a percepção de estresse média ou alta constatada neste estudo é preocupante considerando a saúde desses participantes e seu futuro profissional. Os dados deste estudo contribuem cientificamente com o fornecimento de subsídios e auxiliam a identificar variáveis sociodemográficas que podem vulnerabilizar os acadêmicos na percepção do estresse. It is important to note that the perception of medium or high stress found in this study is worrying considering the health of these participants and their professional future. The data from this study contributes scientifically to the provision of subsidies and helps to identify sociodemographic variables that may vulnerabilize academics in the perception of stress. Estudo descritivo, exploratório, qualitativo, realizado na Universidade do Oeste Paulista (UNOESTE) com o objetivo de comparar os conhecimentos dos discentes dos 1º e 8º termo do curso de Enfermagem, a fim de compreender a influência deste conhecimento na promoção do aleitamento materno e na prevenção do desmame precoce. Foram avaliados 16 acadêmicos de enfermagem por meio de entrevista semiestruturada, sendo as mesmas gravadas e transcritas na íntegra. Analisou-se o conteúdo através da “Técnica de Análise de Conteúdo de Bardin”. Emergiram nos resultados três categorias: “A reiteração da compreensão sobre os benefícios e período preconizado referentes ao aleitamento materno”; “As implicações do desmame precoce para a saúde do binômio mãe-filho”; “Atuação da enfermagem frente a prevenção das intercorrências da amamentação e na promoção do aleitamento materno”. Evidenciou-se que os estudantes percorrem uma construção científica do saber, tornando-os estruturados e aptos a promover o aleitamento materno e prevenir seu cessamento precoce.Descritores: Aleitamento Materno. Desmame. The training of nurses influencing the promotion of breastfeedingAbstract: Descriptive, exploratory, qualitative study, carried out at the Universidade do Oeste Paulista (UNOESTE) to compare the knowledge of students from the 1st and 8th term of the Nursing course, to understand the influence of this knowledge in the promotion of breastfeeding and the prevention of early weaning. 16 nursing students were evaluated through semi-structured interviews, which were recorded and transcribed in full. ABSTRACT Objective: to identify the nursing academic's knowledge about the education in health. Method: this is about a descriptive and exploratory study from qualitative approach that had as subjects ten nursing students from 3rd to 8th period of the nursing course of a private university in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The choice was random and for the fact of the same ones have already lived the theoretical-practical teaching, where they had the opportunity to develop educational activities in health in the practical field. It was used as instrument for data collection an interview itinerary composed by open questions. The collection of data closed up after the saturation of the speeches and the interpretation of the same ones was accomplished through the Thematic Analysis. Results: after analysis of the data, two categories emerged: The nursing academics and the education in health; The approach of the education in health in the graduation. Conclusion: this study showed us that the education in health needs to be analyzed continually, discussed and understood in the graduation as an important practice in the nurse's assistance performance. Método: trata-se de um estudo descritivo e exploratório, de abordagem qualitativa, que teve como sujeitos dez acadêmicos de enfermagem do 3º ao 8º período da graduação de uma universidade privada no município de Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. A escolha foi espontânea pelo fato de os mesmos já terem vivenciado o ensino teórico-prático, onde tiveram a oportunidade de desenvolver atividades educativas em saúde no campo prático. Foi utilizado com instrumento de coleta de dados um roteiro de entrevista composto por perguntas abertas. A coleta de dados encerrou-se após a saturação das falas e a interpretação das mesmas utilizando-se da Análise Temática. Resultados: após análise dos dados duas categorias emergiram: Os acadêmicos de enfermagem e a educação em saúde; A abordagem da educação em saúde na graduação. Conclusão: a educação em saúde precisa ser continuamente analisada, discutida e entendida na graduação como uma importante prática na atuação assistencial do enfermeiro. La elección fue aleatoria y ocurrió porque los mismos ya habrían vivenciado lo estudio teórico-práctico, donde tuvieran la oportunidad de desarrollar actividades educativas en salud en el campo práctico. Fue utilizado como instrumento de coleta de datos  una entrevista compuesta por cuestiones abiertas. La obtención de los datos se encerró después de la saturación de los discursos y la interpretación de estos fuera realizada por Análisis Temática. Resultados: después del análisis de los datos dos categorías surgieron: Los académicos de enfermería y la educación en salud; El enfoque de la educación en salud en la graduación. Conclusión: este estudio nos mostró que la educación en salud necesita ser analizada continuamente, discutida y entendida en la graduación como una práctica importante en la asistencia de la enfermera. AbstractThe aim of this study was to examine the effect of scenario-based learning (SBL) compared to traditional demonstration method on the development of patient safety behavior in first year nursing students. During the 2016–2017 academic year, the Fundamentals of Nursing course curriculum contained the teaching of demonstration method (n=168). In the academic year 2017–2018 was performed with SBL method in the same context (n=183). Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) that assesses the same three skills was implemented in both academic terms to provide standardization so that students could evaluated in terms of patient safety competency. It was found that students’ performance of some of the steps assessed were not consistently between the demonstration and SBL methods across the three skills. There was a statistically significant difference between demonstration method and SBL method for students’ performing the skill steps related to patient safety in intramuscular injection (p<0.05) Our results suggest that the integration of SBL into the nursing skills training may be used as a method of teaching in order to the development of patient safety skills.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has raised awareness about the vital role school nurses have in improving the overall health of children. School nurses provide health promotion within schools, yet over 60% of schools have only a part-time nurse or no nurse. Nursing students may be valuable partners for health promotion and academic–community partnerships may be mutually beneficial to schools of nursing and local schools. Using a nursing student team to teach hand hygiene while school health staff were present provided an opportunity for hands-on training to help the staff master curriculum content and ensure competency. This article describes a collaborative partnership initiative that expanded access to health promotion education in schools to increase knowledge about reducing the spread of infectious disease, such as COVID-19, while providing valuable clinical experiences for nursing students.

(1) Background: Simulation is a part of the day-to-day of the learning method in health sciences. The objective is to determine if the clinical simulation is useful for learning in the emergency setting, from the point of view of the nursing students. (2) Methods: A pre- and post-test exploratory study with an analytical and quasi-experimental design was used. The population is made up of nursing students from the Seville Red Cross Nursing Centre, who conducted a simulation exercise in the form of a drill for the care of multiple victims. A specific questionnaire was employed as a tool to analyse the dimensions of satisfaction, confidence and motivation, clinical experience, and decision making and technical abilities. (3) Results: There were favourable significant differences in the set of global responses, with p < 0.0001 for the “satisfaction” dimension and d = 1.25 for the “large” size of the effect, and p < 0.0069 for the “confidence and motivation” dimension and d = 0.58 for the “moderate–large” size of the effect. (4) Conclusions: The results are similar to those obtained in other studies in the scope of the 4 dimensions studied, thus coming to the conclusion that the perception of the nursing students on learning through clinical simulation is positive and favourable.
