Chronic renal failure is a disease that results in a progressive and gradual decline in renal function that requires hemodialysis therapy. In Indonesia, there were 198,575 patients chronic kidney failure in 2018. The number of undergoing hemodialysis therapy is 132,142 patients. The hemodialysis routine causes tension, anxiety, stress and depression in patient. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between coping mechanisms and stress adaptation in chronic renal failure patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy ant Waled Hospital. The method of this research was descriptive correlational with a cross sectional approach. This research used purposive sampling technique amounted to 79 respondents. The instrument of this research was a questionnaire Jaloweic Coping Scale (JCS) and stress adaptation questionnaire. Data analysis used the spearman rank test. Place of research at Waled Hospital, Cirebon Regency during July 2020.  The result showed that most respondents had an adaptive category as many as 55 adaptation showed the results of most respondents had an adaptive category as many as 55 respondents with a percentage (69.6%). The spearman rank test showed p value <α and r<1, which means that there was a moderate an positive relationship between coping mechanisms and stress adaptation (p value=0,000 < α=0.05 and r=0.593). The is a relationship between coping mechanisms and stress adaptation in chronic renal failure patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy. The better coping mechanism is carries out, the adaptive stress that arises will be adaptive so that the patient can adjust and be able to cope with the stress he is experiencing.

Self efficacy is a belief held by patients with chronic kidney failure undergoing hemodialation. Compliance with hemodialysis is the behavior of patients in the form of adherence to undergo hemodialysis. Chronic kidney failure is a progressive and irreversible disruption of renal function in which the body's ability to fail to maintain metabolism and fluid and electrolyte balance, causes uremia (retention of urea and other nitrogenous wastes in the blood). This study aims to determine the relationship of self efficacy with adherence to undergo hemodialysis in patients with chronic kidney failure who undergo hemodialysis in Waled District Hospital Cirebon, 2020.  This research method uses descriptive correlational with cross sectional approach. The population was patients with chronic renal failure who underwent hemodialysis at Waled District Hospital Cirebon as many as 128 patients and the sampling technique using purposive sampling technique obtained 57 respondents. The instrument used in the form of a questionnaire sheet, and data analysis using the Spearman rank test, the significance value α = 0.05.  The results showed that self efficacy with a low category was (61.4%) and compliance underwent hemodialysis with an adherent category of (54.5%). There is a relationship between self-efficacy and compliance with hemodialysis in chronic renal failure patients undergoing hemodialysis at Waled Hospital, Cirebon Regency.  Hemodialysis patients are susceptible to malnutrition caused by components in hemodialysis, such as Dialyzer (Kidney Artificial), blood line, AV fistula, bicarbonate fluid, acidic liquid. Patients who have long been undergoing hemodialysis have high urea and creatinine levels. Increased levels of urea and creatinine can stimulate acid production such as stomach ulcers (gastritis),  namely nausea, vomiting, heartburn, bloating and no appetite. This research aims to knowing long standing relationship of hemodialysis with appetite in patients chronic renal failure in the unit hemodialysis of Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital in 2019. This type of research is quantitative research, using analytical survey method with cross sectional approach. The population in this study were all patients with chronic renal failure who were in the hemodialysis unit of Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital with a sample of 49 people, using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was using a questionnaire. The analysis in this study used Chi Square test with a degree of confidence of 5% = 0,05. The results of the study stated that the majority of respondents were in the old category (2 years-3 years) as many as 31 people (63.3%) with decreased appetite by 21 people (42.9%), fixed appetite of 7 people (14.3 %), appetite increased by 3 people (6.1%). There is a long standing relationship of hemodialysis with appetite in patients chronic renal failure in the unit hemodialysis of Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital in 2019 with p value < α = 0,05.

Chronic Renal Failure(CRF) is the end-stage of chronic kidney disease. Optimism may play a very important role in helping patients adapt better to their life. This study aims to explore the role of optimism as a moderator variable of the relationship between social support and happiness in a sample of patients with(CRF) in Upper Egypt. Methods: This cross-sectional study, 188 participants (94 patients with CRF, and 94 healthy persons)completed questionnaires assessing optimism , social support, and happiness. Results: The demographic characteristics showed that the sample of patients with CRF(n=94) male(55.3%) females(44.7%) and the ages of the patients ranged between 20 and 76 year. There were positive correlation levels between optimism and happiness(r= .736, p<0.01). Social support correlated with happiness(r= −.393, p<0.01) and optimism scores(r=− .415, p=< 0.01). Optimism was found to be a partial mediator variable, the total effect of social support on happiness (Sobel=3.974, p=0.003). In addition to our results revealed differences that were statistically significant between patients with CRF and healthy persons in optimism(p value=0.001) and happiness(p value=0.05) towards healthy persons but without differences in social support between them. Optimism can act as a mediator variable in the relationship between social support and happiness in patients of CRF. Improving optimism may help in coping with a patient's burden and better happiness. Also, the study confirmed that healthy persons had higher optimism and happiness more than patients with CRF but without differences between them as regards social support.
