This paper illustrates the complicated process of formulating a library consortium in Sri Lanka, and the process of preliminary activities, selection of databases, awareness raising and training and the later developments are presented as a case study, using appropriate Tables, Figures and textual discussions. Insights are provided to the factors that contributed to the slow but steady establishment and development including the support of the top management of the University Grants Commission, participation of as many academics as possible and the collaborative nature of the implementation process. This is the first ever paper written on the formulation of the Sri Lankan consortium and the publishing will help many researchers to gain firsthand information about its beginnings. Also, the library leaders from other countries where the socio-economic and attitudinal conditions are similar can use the lessons learnt from this initiative for their benefit.

This article presents the design and development of the ‘Trébol (Clover) Programme’, a tool which allows us to improve environmental sustainability in the university environment by reinforcing the education, awareness, and training of its members. The system for certifying ‘good practice’ is divided into four progressive levels, and a certificate is awarded in order to demonstrate the environmental commitment acquired to third parties. The aim of the whole process is to create a practical forum for participation, communication, motivation and competence, which is necessary to foster effective pro-environmental behaviour. The study took place at the University of Córdoba (Spain), and, since it began in the 2013/2014 academic year, over 50 groups a wide range of areas have taken part, making a total of nearly 600 participants. The results show that the Trébol Programme enables environmental commitment to be put into practice, through continuous, systematised, participative and well-organised improvements in environmental performance. Its potential as an educational resource for environmental improvement should also be noted, by boosting environmental awareness and establishing new norms. It fits in well with the principles and areas of action of Education for Sustainable Development, and can be applied to universities and other settings to bring about a shift towards sustainability in the fields of teaching, research and management.

Purpose. The review substantiates the need for visual literacy and training students in recognizing fake photos or videos, as well as enhancing students’ critical thinking. The analytical review examines the problems of media education related to the advanced development of digital tools for creating images and the growing visualization of the information space that changes journalistic practices and professional consciousness. Results. After a number of expert interviews with lecturers of journalism departments, the author comes to understand the gap between the requirements of media practice and the response to these requests from educational centers. Due to the conservatism of the university environment and the dominance of the faculties of journalism of the philological school with its logo-centrism, data visualization is still perceived as a tribute to popular culture, something secondary and optional in relation to the text. Even employees of the best editorial offices in the world recognize the lack of experts and managers for visualization and infographics. Conclusion. The conclusion is made about the possibility of a “visual coup” in the modernized educational programs in with a clear interest in this media corporations and government customers.

The submission of the report by Brent Cotter QC and Christopher Roper on Education and Training in Ethics and Professional Responsibility to the New Zealand Law Society in 1994 highlighted the need for a concerted effort to inculcate ethical know-how into the profession at all stages of their education and practice. In this article Professor Brooks surveys the place of ethics in law teaching today and ponders the many problems surrounding the teaching of ethics in the university environment. He argues that the teaching of ethics needs to focus on the process and context of ethics rather than focussing on the rule based modfel which some commentators advocate.

The pre-eminent motivation behind this contribution lies in the intention to offer students of three-year degree course in education and training sciences and master's degree in pedagogical sciences of the University of Macerata a further support than those already existing, aimed at expanding the educational meaningfulness of the internship experience. The main criticality of such experience is connected with the difficulty in translating knowledge, models, ideas into appropriate activities. This notably refers to the conceptual and educational core of the sense of initiative and entrepreneurship and, consistently, to the skill to act. Therefore, after a deepening of the sense of initiative and entrepreneurship, followed by related pedagogical reflections based on the capability approach, the paper presents an operative proposal aimed at increasing young people's possibilities of action and supporting their personal and professional growth. With regard to this training proposal, the theoretical and methodological framework refers to the third generation cultural historical activity theory and to the tool of the boundary crossing laboratory, variant of the change laboratory
