This study aims to analyze and test empirically: the effect of costs and the school environment on the decision to choose a school through the school's image at Insan Cendekia Mandiri Junior High School, Sidoarjo. This research uses a quantitative approach with the type of causality research. The population in this study were 295 parents of students, with a total sample of 75 people who were taken by accidental sampling. The data analysis technique was performed using inferential statistics consisting of path analysis, classical assumption test, model feasibility test and hypothesis testing. The results showed that first, school fees have a significant effect on the decision to choose a school at SMP Insan Cendekia Mandiri Sarirogo Sidoarjo. Second, the school environment has a significant effect on the decision to choose a school at Insan Cendekia Mandiri Middle School, Sidoarjo. Third, school fees have no significant effect on the decision to choose a school through the image of the school at Insan Cendekia Mandiri Junior High School, Sidoarjo. And fourth, the school environment has no significant effect on the decision to choose a school through the image of the school at Insan Cendekia Mandiri Junior High School, Sidoarjo.

AbstrakUsia anak SMP umumnya mengikuti suatu kegitan hanya didasari dengan ketertarikan atau hanya meniru teman saja tanpa tahu tujuannya. Kenyataanya seseorang melakukan suatu aktivitas atau kegiatan selalu didasari dengan adanya motivasi dan minat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor yang mempengaruhi minat siswa memilih ekstrakurikuler bulutangkis di SMP Purwokerto, yang terdiri dari faktor internal dan faktor eksternal. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP 1 Muhammadiyah Purwokerto dan SMP Al Irsyad Purwokerto yang mengikuti kegiatan ekstrakurikuler bulutangkis dengan total sampel sebanyak 65 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah total sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket/kuisoner, dokumentasi, dan observasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Hasil dan kesimpulan penelitian menunjukkan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi minat siswa memilih ekstrakurikuler bulutangkis di SMP Purwokerto, dari faktor internal sebanyak 36,05% dengan indikator rasa senang sebesar 18,14% dan indikator ketertarikan sebesar 17,91%. Sedangkan untuk faktor eksternal mempengaruhi minat siswa memilih ekstrakurikuler bulutangkis sebanyak 63,95%, terdiri dari indikator pelatih 16,22%, indikator lingkungan 16,27%, indikator fasilitas 15,71% dan indikator keluarga 15,75%.Kata kunci: Faktor, Minat Siswa, Ekstrakurikuler, BulutangkisDETERMINING FACTORS OF INTEREST IN MIDDLE SCHOOL EXTRACURRICULAR STUDENTS IN PURWOKERTO AbstractThe junior high school student’s generally follows an activity only based on interest or just imitating friends without knowing their purpose. In fact, someone doing an activity or action is always based on of motivation and interest. This study aims to determine the faktors that influence students' interest in choosing badminton extracurricular at Purwokerto junior high school, which consists of internal faktorsand external faktors. This type of research is descriptive research. The population in this study were students of Purwokerto junior high school 1 Muhammadiyah and Al Irsyad Purwokerto junior high school who participated in badminton extracurricular activities with a total sample of 60 students.  Sampling technique in this study is total sampling. Data collection techniques was using questionnaires / questionnaires, documentation, and observation. The data analysis technique used in this study is descriptive with a quantitative approach.  The result and conclusion showed that the faktors that influence student’s interest in choosing badminton extracurricular at Purwokerto junior high school were 36.05% from internal faktors with 18.14% pleasure indikators and 17.91% interest indikators. Whereas for external faktors affect the interest of students choosing badminton extracurricular as much as 63.95%, consisting of 16.22% coach indikators, 16.27% environmental indikators, 15.71% facility indikators and 15.75% family indikators. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1.) Mengkaji implementasi manajemen strategik peningkatan mutu lembaga pendidikan Muhammadiyah di SMP Al-Mujahidin dan SMP Muhammadiyah Semin Kabupaten Gunungkidul; dan 2.) Menemukan formulasi alternatif manajemen strategik lembaga pendidikan Muhammadiyah dalam meningkatkan mutu sekolah di Kabupaten Gunungkidul. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian studi kasus yang bersifat kualitatif, dengan mengunakan metode observasi, interview dan dokumentasi terhadap dua lembaga pendidikan Muhammadiyah. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teori Miles dan Huberman dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi manajemen strategik yang dilakukan oleh SMP Muhammadiyah Al-Mujahidin dan SMP Muhammadiyah Semin melibatkan semua stakeholder. Sekolah terlebih dahulu merumuskan visi misi sekolah dengan mempertimbangkan faktor internal dan eksternal lingkungan sekolah, dilanjutkan merumuskan tujuan dan target mutu sekolah diikuti dengan penentuan strategi yang akan digunakan oleh sekolah demi terealisasinya semua target mutu yang disepakati. Implementasi strategi yang dilakukan SMP Muhammadiyah Al-Mujahidin dan SMP Muhammadiyah Semin dalam meningkatkan mutu sekolah adalah dengan menjabarkan dan melaksanakan semua strategi yang telah dirumuskan dalam bentuk kegiatan-kegiatan terprogram dan terukur. Evaluasi strategi yang digunakan SMP Muhammadiyah Al-Mujahidin dan SMP Muhammadiyah Semin adalah melalui rapat formal maupun informal. AbstractThe objective of the present study is to: 1.) Review the implementation of strategic management for the improvement of the Muhammadiyah educational institution quality in the context of Al-Mujahidin Junior High School and Muhammadiyah Junior High School Semin, the Regency of Gunungkidul; and 2.) Identify the alternative formula for the implementation of the strategic management within the Muhammadiyah educational institution quality toward the improvement of the school quality in the Regency of Gunungkidul. The nature of the study is qualitative research using observation, interview, and documentation with two Muhammadiyah educational institutions as the objects of the study. Throughout the data analysis, the technique that has been implemented is the data analysis technique proposed by Miles & Huberman under the following sequence: (1) data reduction; (2) data presentation; and (3) conclusions. The results of the study show that the implementation of strategic management by the Al-Mujahidin Junior High School and the Muhammadiyah Junior High School Semin has involved all stakeholders. The two Muhammadiyah educational institutions formulate the school vision and the school mission in the very first place with considerations toward the internal factors and the external factors of the school environment. Then, the two Muhammadiyah educational institutions proceed to the formulation of the objectives and the targets for the school quality followed by the definition of the school strategy in achieving all of the quality targets that have been formulated. Furthermore, the strategic management by the Al-Mujahidin Junior High School and the Muhammadiyah Junior High School Semin in improving the school quality is elaborating and implementing all strategies that have been formulated in the form of programmed and measured activities. The strategies will be evaluated by the Al-Mujahidin Junior High School and the Muhammadiyah Junior High School Semin through the mechanism of both formal and informal meetings.

Cases of verbal bullying are still prevalent among students in schools. Therefore, efforts are needed through various approaches to overcome the problem. One of the efforts that can be done is through the habituation of krama language in the school environment. This article aims to analyze the application of krama language as an educational communication ethic in Junior High School Islam Prestasi Al Mubtadi-ien Bantul in the perspective of Islamic education. The important issue discussed is the purpose and form of application of manners language as educational communication and its impact on the formation of student behavior seen from the perspective of Islamic education. This research is qualitative research using a phenomenological approach in Junior High School Islam Prestasi Al Mubtadi-ien Bantul, Yogyakarta. Data collection using observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses data reduction, data exposure, and inference/verification measures. The results of this study showed: First, the form of educational communication ethics applied in Junior High School Islam Prestasi Al Mubtadi-ien Bantul is based on the cultural values of krama language carried out during the implementation of the learning process in the classroom and in interactions outside the classroom in the school environment. The application of krama language aims to shape student behavior and participate in preserving the culture of krama language as is done in a pesantren environment. Second, the application of communication ethics using Javanese culture krama in Junior High School Islam Prestasi Al Mubtadi-ien Bantul is considered to have provided positive benefits and impacts for students. Third, from the perspective of Islamic education, the application of krama language culture in Junior High School Islam Prestasi Al Mubtadi-ien Bantul is very relevant. Islam is very concerned about the ethical issue of communication. Islam teaches the delivery of information messages to citizens using good language, friendly and polite.

Geologically, Indonesia is a country prone to disasters, particularly volcanic eruptions. One of the steps that can be taken to minimize the impact of volcanic eruptions is through the education sector as foundation the knowledge, attitudes, and skills of students. Therefore, this study aims to determine the preparedness of students in dealing with volcanic eruptions based on aspects of knowledge about volcanic eruptions, responsiveness in dealing with volcanic eruptions, and evacuation skills in dealing with volcanic eruptions. The subjects of the study were 26 students from 8th grade at Junior High School of 1 Ngancar. Research method in this study is by interviews and tests. Samples of respondents were taken randomly based on suggestions from science teachers at Junior High School of 1 Ngancar. The results of the research that have been carried out are as follows: Student preparedness is still in the poor category, seen from the aspect of knowledge and skills in evacuation, while the aspect of disaster response attitudes shows conflicting results, where based on the test of disaster response attitudes, 83.3% is in the good category. However, based on interviews with science teachers, it shows that the facilities, and there has never been any socialization related to disaster mitigation in the school environment. Therefore, it is necessary to do an application test to find out whether disaster response attitudes are truly embedded in students.

Adolescence need adequate energy intake to support their physical and psychology development, one of them was obtained for snack consumtion in school. Election of food snacks was influenced by student knowledge. There are 30% students who have bad knowlegde. Aim of this research is for knowing effect nutritional education using video media for student knowledge of snack selection in Muhammadiyah 10 Surakarta Junior High School. This research using quasy eksperiment design with one grup pretest-posttest. Taking of sample using proportionate random sampling with total sample are 44 students. In this research using video media. Data analysis using Kolmogorov smirnov and Paired sample T-Test. Based on data analysis using Paired sample T-Test got result p = 0.000 it shows p< 0.005 so H0 is refused it means there is any effect after giving nutrition education using video media. Mean score of students after giving nutrition education increase from 75,6 become 87. The conclusion is any effect nutrition education using video media for student knowledge in Muhammadiyah 10 Surakarta Junior High School.

ABSTRACT   This research was conducted owing to numerous students who felt bored as they followed Arabic learning which it was triggered by the method of teaching used by the teacher relying on the lecture method only. Moreover, there was an enormous number of students feeling hard associated with applying what they have acquired in the class, for instance arranging simple sentences and so on. Meanwhile, the purpose of this research was to know whether there was an impact of comic medium usage in improving writing capability in terms of Arabic learning of students whose grade was 7th at Islamic Junior High School At-Tarbawiyah East Tamberu Sampang Madura as well as to find out how big the effect of the comic medium itself. This research was a quantitative one using an experimental study whose data was obtained from the students of 7th grade of Islamic Junior High School At-Tarbawiyah East Tamberu Sampang Madura with the figure of 30 teenagers. Furthermore, the researcher divided that amount into two groups. While the first group called The Controlling Group encompassed 15 students, the second group named The Experimental Group consisting of the same amount, 15 students. The data collection techniques used in this research were Pre-Test and Post-Test whereas the data analysis technique used the T-Test, with the analysis data requirement which should distribute Normality and Homogeneity. From the result of the data analysis, it testified that the score of the experimental group (37.3) was considerably higher in comparison with that of the controlling class (20.0), and it illustrated that there was a remarked impact of comic media usage in accordance with developing the writing competency of Arabic learning toward the students of 7th grade at Islamic Junior High School At-Tarbawiyah East Tamberu Sampang Madura with the substantially high discrepancy of range, at 17.3.   Keywords          : Comic Medium, Writing Proficiency.

This study aims to obtain answers to the problems of the relationship of balance, and flexibility with the ability of sila in SMP Negeri 1 Sungguminasa, Gowa Regency. This research is descriptive of two independent variables and one dependent variable. The population and sample were students of SMP Negeri 1 Sungguminasa, Gowa Regency, selected by random sampling, a sample of 30 people was obtained. The data analysis technique used is single correlation analysis and multiple correlation using computer facilities through the SPSS program. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded as follows: (1) There is a balance relationship with the ability of football in the State Junior High School 1 Sungguminasa, Gowa Regency, with a r count (ro) = 0.649 (P <0.05). (2) There is a relationship between flexibility and the ability to play soccer in SMP Negeri 1 Sungguminasa, Gowa Regency, with a r count (ro) = 0.578 (P <0.05). (3) There is a relationship of equilibrium, and flexibility with the ability to play football at the State Junior High School 1 in Sungguminasa, Gowa Regency, with a calculated R value (Ro) = 0.672 (P <0.05).

Everyone is entitled to education because education serves to improve the quality of a person's life. Education for deaf disability children, also needs to get focused of attention according to the limitations basic motor motion. The application of adaptive aplication learning media is used to improve motor skills of the disabled child's motor disability.The purpose of this research is to find out about: (1) the impact of application of media SIBI can help locomotor motion of deaf disability children, (2) the impact of media SIBI application to help manipulative motion of deaf disability children, (3) the impact of application of rainbow flag to help locomotor motion of deaf disability children, (4) the impact of the application of rainbow flags to help manipulative motion deaf disability children, (5) the magnitude of the increase in locomotor activity of deaf disability children using the application of media SIBI and rainbow flag, (6) the increase in manipulative activity of deaf disability children using the application of media SIBI and rainbow flags.This research is quantitative with quasi-experimental. The research design uses matching-only design, data analysis using Paired-Sampels T Test. The process of data collection is done with a pretest and posttest weight using the instrument of adapted motor skills, and validated by the expert to retrieve data locomotor motion and manipulative motion.The result of data analysis using SPSS version 20 on average data between pretest and posttest each group, namely: (a) Locomotor: media SIBI group increased 10,10%, sig. = 0.003 and the rainbow flag group increased 13.40%, sig. = 0.001. (b) Manipulative: media SIBI group increased by 10.10%, sig. = 0.063 and the rainbow flag group increased 13%, sig. = 0.007. Is increasing the influence of media SIBI and rainbow on locomotor motion 11,75% while in motion manipulative 11,55%.The result of the the study, that the application of media SIBI to improve locomotor motion not for manipulatif motion behind rainbow flag to improve of locomotor motion and manipulative deaf disability children.One of the fundamental strategies in attempts to develop athletic sports in Surabaya was to conduct special training through athletic extracurricular activities in schools, hence it was the starting point for the discovery of potential athletes. The purpose of this study was to determine the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and Threat from athletic extracurricular management which included Planning, Organizing, Implementing and Supervising which was conducted by Dr. Soetomo and Jalan Jawa Junior High School in Surabaya. The approach used in this study was a qualitative approach and the type of evaluative research (Evaluation Research) used descriptive methods. The evaluation design used in this study was the SWOT Analysis. The results and conclusions of this study indicated that the athletic extracurricular management at Dr Soetomo Junior High School; The Planning was already a good program, The Organizing used the organizational structure and cooperation which already existed so the working mechanism was clear of its functions and parts, The Actuating contained the schedule of activities, the attendance of students and the coaches are well-monitored by the extracurricular coordinator, The Controlling implemented a routine evaluation that carried out at the end of the school year, but for the achievements have not been as the expectation. On the other hand, Jalan Jawa Junior High School implemented the management as; The Planning of this school did not have a good program, The Organizing included the involved cooperation of leaders, teachers and parents of students was very good, The Actuating related to the exercise did not run well, The Oversight represented almost every championship in Surabaya, Jalan Jawa Junior High School got good marks. The researchers have conducted more in-depth analysis of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and Threat of athletic extracurricular management which included Planning, Organizing, Implementing and Supervising which was conducted by Dr Soetomo and Jalan Jawa Junior High School in Surabaya, furthermore resulting some recommendations for Dr. Soetomo and

Kuncup Melati Junior High School (JHS) is a multiethnic school whose students come from Chinese and Javanese ethnic groups. Both groups have a negative stereotype towards one another and often engage in conflicts. The school opens a room for discussion for both groups, proving that both can coexist in diversity. This study aims to analyze the symbolic interactionism and the implementation of multicultural values. Data analysis technique used were qualitative technique, borrowing the symbolic interactionism theory of Herbert Blumer. The informants were the teachers, the Chinese students, and Javanese students. The data collection technique employed in-depth interview, observation, and documentation study. The results revealed that the symbolic interactionism between two groups can be interpreted from multiethnic friendship and understanding of each other’s culture and religion. This can reduce the stereotype between two groups, and in turn, result in respect from one another. The heterogeneous school environment showcasing the implementation of respect for one another is indirectly internalized in students’ behavior. Multicultural values found in Kuncup Melati JHS are tolerance, solidarity, and equality. This study recommends to open a more diverse multietchnic and multifaith interaction because multicultural values cannot only be taught in class, but rather have to be experienced personally.

This articel aims to obtain data on non-cognitive assessment, the ability of teachers to make the rubric of non-cognitive assessment, constraints - any constraints faced by teachers in developing noncognitive instruments as well as any policy that will be done in overcoming the obstacles faced by social studies teacher in junior RSBI Padang Class VII Semester II.This type of research is descriptive research. Data obtained from document analysis, interviews and observation. Techniques of data analysis by using percentages. Data obtained from interviews with informants, the junior high school teachers who teach social studies classes RSBI VII, Chairman of the IPS MGMP Padang, three expert specialist and deputy head of the school curriculum areas.After data analysis performed, the results obtained that the number of teachers who have not done in developing and assessing the activities within the rubric of attitude assessment, student performance and products. Once analyzed by the expert assessment rubric attitude, and product performance in terms of science and the content is quite good and better in terms of the language section. Perceived obstacles to overcome problems that arise in the application of attitude assessment, and performance of the products most social studies teachers have tried various things such as: reading books / other resources relevant to teaching materials, training, seminars and follow MGMP forum, discuss in advance with Head of School before attending the training and talked about making attitude assessment rubrics, and product performance with peers.
