As a result of the attack golden snails, rice production declined to 30 % in some places in the province of West Nusa Tenggara. Application of science and technology activities for the community ( IbM ) to address the problem of golden snail pest have been conducted in The Village of Bunut Baok, Central Lombok. IbM program conducted by subject matter covers characteristics of jayanti plant (Sesbania sesban ) and its cultivation method, characteristics of golden snail species that is pests of the rice plant, how to prepare and manufacture of jayanti molluscicide, and its application to control rice pest snails. The methods used include lecture, discussion, demonstration and practice. IbM activity followed by 12 members of Farmers Group Mohon Petunjuk Bunut Baok Village. The results of the practice is that the use of 1 ppm solution jayanti leaf can be lethal 48% to 84% of golden snail population. Other results achieved are covering the growing appreciation of farmers to plant jayanti, increasing farmers' knowledge and skills in identifying plants jayanti, skilled to make jayanti molluscicide, and its use to control rice pest golden snails.

ABSTRAKAkibat serangan keong mas, produksi padi menurun hingga 30% di beberapa tempat di Provinsi NusaTenggara Barat. Desa Bunut Baok Lombok Tengah adalah termasuk sentra penghasil padi yangmengalami gagal panen akibat serangan keong mas. Kegiatan penerapan iptek bagi masyarakat (IbM)untuk mengatasi masalah hama keong mas telah dilakukan di desa tersebut. Kegiatan IbM diawalidengan koordinasi Tim Pelasana IbM dengan Ketua Kelompok Tani Mohon Petunjuk di Desa BunutBaok untuk memantapkan persiapan dan sosialisasi teknik pelasanaan IbM. Program IbM dilakukandengan materi meliputi karakteristika tanaman jayanti (Sesbania sesban) dan cara pembudidayaannya,karakteristika jenis keong mas yang merupakan hama tanaman padi, cara penyiapan dan pembuatanbahan molusisida dari tanaman jayanti, dan aplikasinya untuk mengendalikan keong mas hamatanaman padi. Kegiatan IbM menggunakan berbagai media yang meliputi papan tulis, LCD, biji, danspecimen tanaman jayanti dewasa, serbuk kering daun jayanti, specimen keong mas hidup, air, danalat-alat pertanian untuk pembuatan dan aplikasi molusisida di sawah padi. Metode yang digunakanmeliputi ceramah, demonstrasi, pelatihan, dan diskusi. Kegiatan IbM diikuti oleh 12 orang anggotaKelompok Tani Mohon Petunjuk Desa Bunut Baok. Hasil yang dicapai adalah meliputi meningkatnyaapresiasi petani terhadap tanaman jayanti, meningkatnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan petani dalammengidentifikasi tanaman jayanti, terampil untuk membuat bahan molusisida dari tanaman jayanti,dan penggunaannya untuk mengendalikan keong mas hama tanaman padi.Kata-kata kunci: Tanaman jayanti, keong mas hama tanaman padi, Desa Bunut BaokABSTRACTFest of gold snail (keong mas) is the main factor of 30% reduction of rice production in some parts ofthe Province of Nusa Tenggara Barat, including Bunut Baok Village in the District of CentralLombok. TheIACC program done with course including characteristics and cultivication method of jayanti plant(Sesbania sesban) and characteristics of gold snail as a pest of rice plant. The media used for IACCactivity were white board, LCD, seeds and specimen of adult jayanti plant, dray powder of jayanti leaf,life gold snail specimen, water, and farming tools to make and application of molluside in paddy field.Method for IACC activity were classroom talking, demonstration, exercise, and discussion. Theparticipants of IACC activity were 12 person members of farmer group, Mohon Petunjuk Bunut Baokvillage. Gending Village is a village located in Gending District, Probolinggo Regency, consisting of 4 Hamlets, 4 RWs, 13 RT. RT 09 area. Buyut Hamlet is one of the areas in the village of Gending, Gending District. The majority of RT 9 residents have livelihoods as farmers. The area of ​​Buyut Hamlet was once a center for catfish farming in the village of Gending, but is now beginning to be abandoned because of the existence of a small amount of feed. The adoption of the budikdamber as the development of the aquaponics system is expected to be able to foster community interest in conducting fish and vegetable cultivation in one place, so that the yields obtained are also abundant and meet the nutritional needs derived from fish and vegetables. One effort to redevelop the local potential in the form of catfish farming, needs to be done an action in the form of socialization. The socialization was carried out by conveying material about hydroponics and buddhambers, which was followed by housewives of RT 9 with the aim to be able to fill spare time and develop the ability of catfish culture that had previously been nurturing, but also as a form of utilization of house yards or narrow land to be efficient and profitable. The practice was carried out by demonstrating the buddhamber accompanied by lecturers and student teams, and handing over the assemblies of the buddambers along with vegetables and fish to one of the residents as a pilot. The results obtained from this program are an increase in knowledge and skills of partners about fish farming in a bucket (Budikdamber) as well as an increase in family food independence by utilizing home yards through the cultivation of vegetables and fish in one place. This activity was motivated by the fact that the people in Mentibar Village, Paloh Sub-district of SambasRegency are farmers who had only relied on their farming activities using of inorganic fertilizer especially Ureafertilizer from Malaysia, which the price is not cheap and sometimes the unavailable. The farmers in Mentibarvillage are new to Bokashi organic fertilizer, which its main ingredients are widely available in the village such aslivestock, fine bran, straw, etc. In this study, we conducted training and counselling to improve farmers' knowledgeand skills in making organic fertilizer. Bokashi as an alternative fertilizer can be used by farmers in their ricecultivation and at the same time to less reliant to inorganic fertilizer. The purpose of this Community Serviceactivities are: First, to increase the knowledge and skills of farmers in making Bokashi organic fertilizer. Second, toprovide an understanding that relying on inorganic fertilizer can damage the soil and produce pollution. Third,farmers will be able to utilize the materials around them to be used as Bokashi fertilizers such as livestock, bran,husks and rice straw.

During the period between January 1999 and December 2000, the distribution and seasonal patterns of Fasciola gigantica infections in cattle in the highveld and lowveld communal grazing areas of Zimbabwe were determined through monthly coprological examination. Cattle faecal samples were collected from 12 and nine dipping sites in the highveld and lowveld communal grazing areas respectively. Patterns of distribution and seasonal fluctuations of the intermediate host-snail populations and the climatic factors influencing the distribution were also determined by sampling at monthly intervals for a period of 24 months (November 1998 to October 2000) in six dams and six streams in the highveld and in nine dams in the lowveld communal grazing areas. Each site was sampled for relative snail density and the vegetation cover and type, physical and chemical properties of water, and mean monthly rainfall and temperature were recorded. Aquatic vegetation and grass samples 0-1 m from the edges of the snail habitats were collected monthly to determine the presence or absence of F. gigantica metacercariae. Snails collected at the same time were individually checked for the emergence of larval stages of F. gigantica. A total of 16 264 (calves 5 418; weaners 5 461 and adults 5 385) faecal samples were collected during the entire period of the study and 2 500 (15.4 %) of the samples were positive for F. gigantica eggs. Significantly higher prevalences were found in the highveld compared to the lowveld (P < 0.001), for adult cattle than calves ( P < 0.01) and in the wet season over the dry season (P < 0.01). Faecal egg output peaked from August / September to March / April for both years of the study. Lymnaea natalensis, the snail intermediate host of F. gigantica was recorded from the study sites with the highveld having a significantly higher abundance of the snail species than the lowveld (P < 0.01). The snail population was low between December and March and started to increase in April reaching a peak in September / October. The number of juvenile snails peaked between April and August. The mean number of snails collected was negatively correlated with rainfall and positively correlated with temperature. Mean number of snails collected was also positively correlated with Potamogeton plant species and negatively correlated with Cyperus plant species. However, none of the L. natalensis collected from the habitats were found shedding Fasciola cercariae. Metacercariae were found on herbage from the fringes of the snail habitats between February and August for both years, with most of the metacercariae concentrated on herbage 0-1 m from the banks of the habitats. Based on the findings of this study, anthelmintic treatment should be administered in December / January to control chronic and mature fasciolosis. A second treatment should be given in April / May to reduce pasture contamination and subsequently snail infection, as this is the time the snail population starts to build up. To control acute fasciolosis due to the immature liver flukes a third treatment should be given in August. The first application of molluscicides to control the snail intermediate hosts can be done in June the time when the snail is harbouring the parasite and a second application in September in order to kill new generations of infected snails.

Pests pest very influential towards the production of rice in the hamlet of Mandiku Village Tempurejo District subdistrict of Jember Sidodadi. These pests invade rice caused by several factors, including: weather, seed varieties, trunks, and planting not outright. The factors are the root problems in the rice plant cultivation activities. The problems that arise should be minimised so that its influence is not prolonged and not harming farmers. Farmers in addressing the problem of pests must have the ability and knowledge in agricultural issues in particular concerning penanggulan pests. This research was conducted with the aim to find out the cause of social change, the impact of this pest attacks occur due to changes in society and the efforts of farmers in coping with pests pest in the village of Tempurejo Sub-district Sidodadi District Jember. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Determination of informants in this study done by using purposive sampling. Data collection can be obtained using several ways namely observation, interview, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and documentation.

A field experiment was carried out during Kharif season of 2010 and 2011 to study the effect of different nutrients treatments on the productivity of rice. Application of NPK with FYM and Zn proved to be superior in recording the highest Photosynthetic rate and Super Oxide Dismutase. Although fertilizers are important for enhancing rice production but excess use of fertilizer cause deterioration of soil quality which ultimately affect crop productivity so it is required to investigate the physiological aspects of rice plant under integrated nutrients. When imbalanced fertilizers doses are given to the rice-wheat cropping system, they showed a considerable decline in crop productivity and soil fertility.

The aim of the Community Service Program, Kuliah Kerja Nyata- Pembelajaran dan Pemberdayaan Kepada Masyarakat (KKN-PPM) is to improve the skills of society in Sindanglaya village, Cinangka. The problem faced does not know the use the waste of plastic to produce the useful and selling value products. The method of implementing this service is through (1) Survey through observation, interviews, and analysis of problems and potential of the village, (2) Training on making paving block from the waste of plastic. The results of this program are increasing knowledge and skills of the community regarding training on making paving block from the waste of plastic. This program is expected to facilitate the community in increasing their knowledge and skills in processing the waste materials into products that are useful and have selling value, therefore that the societies in Sindanglaya become productive communities.

ABSTRACTOlele Village is one of the villages located in Bone Bolango Regency and is included in the Coastal Region. Most Olele villagers have livelihoods as fishermen, so most Olele village women are fishermen's wives. The purpose of community service activities carried out in Olele village is to increase community income through empowering coastal women. The method used consists of two forms, namely counseling and training. Coastal women who were participants in service activities were 30 fishermen wives. The material provided in counseling is about the types of diversification of processed products and fisheries processing techniques. Training is provided through hands-on practice and assistance during service activities. The products produced are fish fingers, dragon foot fish, jelly, pudding, and crackers which will be sold to increase community income especially for fishermen's wives. The results of community service activities carried out in the village of Olele are increased knowledge and skills diversification of processed fisheries products for fishermen wives who have received service activities. Community service activities also provide increased income for the community through the sale of various processed fishery products. Keywords:  Fish Finger, Foot Dragon Fish, Jelly Candy, Pudding, and Fish Crackers.  ABSTRAKDesa olele merupakan salah satu desa yang terletak di Kabupaten Bone Bolango dan termasuk wilayah pesisir. Penduduk desa Olele sebagian besar memiliki mata pencaharian sebagai nelayan, sehingga sebagian besar perempuan desa Olele merupakan istri nelayan. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan di desa Olele yaitu untuk meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat melalui pemberdayaan perempuan pesisir. Metode yang digunakan terdiri dari dua bentuk yaitu penyuluhan dan pelatihan. Perempuan pesisir yang dijadikan peserta pada kegiatan pengabdian adalah istri-istri nelayan sebanyak 30 orang. Materi yang diberikan pada penyuluhan yaitu tentang jenis diversifikasi produk olahan dan teknik pengolahan hasil perikanan. Pelatihan diberikan dengan cara praktek langsung dan pendampingan selama kegiatan pengabdian berlangsung. Produk yang dihasilkan adalah fish finger, foot dragon fish, permen jell,  puding, dan kerupuk yang akan dijual untuk meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat khususnya bagi istri-istri nelayan. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan di desa Olele yaitu peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan tentang diversifikasi produk olahan perikanan bagi istri-istri nelayan yang telah mengikuti kegiatan pengabdian. Kegiatan pengabdian juga memberikan dampak bagi peningkatan pendapatan masyarakat melalui penjualan diversifikasi produk olahan perikanan.  Kata Kunci: Kaki Naga, Kerupuk, Nugget, Permen dan Puding.

Abstract: The theme of community service activities carried out in Pinanggripan village, Air Batu Subdistrict, Asahan Regency is "Implementation of Corel Draw X4 Application for Graphic Design for Pinanggripan Village Devices, Air Batu District, Asahan Regency". The purpose of the activity is to provide knowledge and skills of village officials in designing graphics using the Corel Draw X4 application. With these knowledge and skills the village device can be creative in designing using the Corel Draw X4 application. Abstract Socialization and training on writing official letters were held in Kubang Puji Village, Pontang District, Serang Regency, Banten Province. The activity was carried out as a result of the collaboration of a team of Indonesian language lecturers from several different departments at the Politeknik Negeri Jakarta to jointly go down to the community to carry out service in the form of socializing and training official letters for staff in the village and sub-district environment. This activity begins with socialization which aims to regenerate public awareness to be able to use the Indonesian language properly and correctly, both orally and in writing, as well as socialize matters related to correspondence material, especially official letters. After that, the lecturer team made a direct approach to the community to carry out technical guidance on writing official letters. The result of this activity is that the community is reminded of the importance of communicating using good and correct Indonesian, as well as increasing knowledge and skills in writing official letters.   Keywords –socialization, training, official letter, Pontang District, Serang-Banten   Abstrak Sosialisasi dan pelatihan penulisan surat dinas dilaksanakan di Desa Kubang Puji, Kecamatan Pontang, Kabupaten Serang, Provinsi Banten. Kegiatan ini diawali dengan sosialisasi yang bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan kembali kesadaran masyarakat untuk dapat menggunakan bahasa Indonesia dengan baik dan benar, baik secara lisan maupun tertulis, serta menyosialisasikan juga hal-hal yang terkait dengan materi korespondensi, khususnya, surat dinas. Setelah itu, tim dosen melakukan pendekatan secara langsung dengan masyarakat untuk membimbing secara teknis dalam penulisan surat dinas. Hasil dari kegiatan ini masyarakat tersadarkan kembali akan pentingnya berkomuniasi menggunakan bahasa Indonesia yang baik dan benar, serta adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam menulis surat dinas.
