Patchouli (Pogostemon cablin Benth.) plant is one of the essential oil producing plants, that is useful in the chemical industry as a raw material for fragrance products and in the pharmaceutical field. The success rate of patchouli early growth, is largely determined by the cultivation techniques used, including the use of growth regulators, and growing media. This study aims to determine the effect of IBA growth regulators and the composition of plant media on the growth of patchouli plants. This research is carried out in the Greenhouse of the Forestry Study Program of the University of Mataram, using a Factorial Completely Randomized Design (RALF), the first factor is IBA growth regulator with 3 levels, namely 0, 20, 25 ppm and the second factor is composition of plant media with 3 levels, namely forest soil media, soil media:sand:compost (1:1:1), and soil media:sand:compost (2:1:3). The results show that the effect of IBA significantly affect the success percentage of cuttings and the number of roots of patchouli plants. The effect of plant media composition and the interaction between treatment of IBA with plant media composition did not have a significant effect on the growth parameters of patchouli plants.

Jatropha curcas L. is one of the plants that can be developed as raw material of biodiesel. One of the efforts to increase the production of J. curcas is the propagation of stem cuttings horizontally. Efforts to stimulate root growth can be accomplished by adding Plant Growth Regulators (PGRs). PGRs can be obtained naturally or synthetically. Indole acetic acid (IAA) is one of PGRs, which is not only produced by plants but can also be produced by rhizobacteria. One such rhizobacteria is fluorescent pseudomonad. The objectives of the study were to know the response of growth of horizontal stem cuttings after being introduced with fluorescent pseudomonad. This research is an experimental research.  Complete Randomized Design with 6 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments were soaking of J. curcas stem cuttings with fluorescent pseudomonad isolate suspension PfPj3 suspension concentration of 0% (without suspension), 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25%. Observation of the research is the beginning of the shoots, the number of shoots, and the length of the J. curcas stem shoot. The data obtained were analyzed using Anova and DNMRT significant level of 5%. The results showed that horizontal stem cuttings of J. curcas with fluorescent pseudomonad suspension influenced early shoot, shoot number, and shoot length. A 10% fluorescent pseudomonad concentration can cause shoots to appear early, while a concentration of 20% causes the largest number of shoots.

Propagation of jasmine plants by cuttings often experience obstacles, especially to grow roots. Proper planting media and application of growth regulators (PGR) have an important role in the growth and development of plant cuttings roots. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of planting media types and PGR on the growth of jasmine cuttings. This research was conducted in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Teuku Umar University, in March - May 2019. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with a factorial pattern of 3x3 with three replications. The treatment factors studied were (1) the type of planting media consisted of 3 levels namely alluvial soil, sand and husk charcoal, and (2) the type of growth regulator (ZPT) consisted of 3 levels namely control (without zpt), chemical (growtone) and organic (shallot extract). F test results on the analysis of variance showed that the planting medium had a very significant effect on the number of shoots 35 and 45 HST, number of leaves 15, 35 and 45 HST number of roots, root length, percentage of live cuttings. But the planting media had no significant effect on the number of shoots of 15 DAP. Growth regulator substances have a very significant effect on the number of shoots 35 HST, number of leaves 15, 35 and 45 HST, number of roots and root length. Significantly affect the number of shoots 45 HST and percentage of live cuttings, but no significant effect on the number of shoots 15 HST. This shows that the difference in growth of jasmine plant cuttings due to different planting media does not depend on growth regulators, and vice versa.

One of grape cultivars widely used as raw material for wine production is ‘Shiraz’ cultivar. Propagation of this cultivar is necessary for the provision of grape as a wine making material in Bali. In vitro culture is an alternative propagation technique than can be employed to produce planting materials in a shorter time. This research aims to determine the most suitable medium and growth regulator combination in inducing grape cv. ‘Shiraz’ callus in vitro. The study was conducted from November 2017 until February 2018 at Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory, Biology Study Program, Udayana University. The explants used were young stem of grape cv. ‘Shiraz’ and the experiment was conducted using factorial design with two factors. The first factor was basal medium used (MS and WPM) and the second factor was IBA concentration (0; 0.5 and 1 mgL-1) and BAP (0, 1 and 2 mgL-1). The results showed that the highest percentage of callus induction (60%) was obtained on WPM medium without growth regulator combination (control). However, the fastest time of callus appear was on MS medium + 2 mgL-1 BAP without IBA, which was 17 days after planting. The texture and color of callus resulted on this research were friable with white, greenish white, greenish yellow and green in color.
