The focus of this research is to analyze the future and backward linkages of agro-industry products that support the West Sumatra tourism creative industry and vertical integration between typical snack food products of West Sumatra culinary that have added value. This study uses a regional economic approach with the Grubel-Llyod index method and analysis of input output from snack industry sector. Result of the study shows that the market potential of West Sumatra agro-industry products still has low added value due to the low value of intermediate inputs compared to the final demand. Increasing the added value of agro-industry products based on food crop products is carried out by external regions such as North Sumatra and Riau. Integration between vertical market and regional external markets occurs in fruit-based agro industry products such as mangosteen, jackfruit, and bananas, which are shown by the highest Grubel-Llyord Index value with the demand value is lower than the final demand. The development of agro-industry food products and agro-business activities supporting culinary tourism in West Sumatra can be conducted by increasing the added value of superior products through agro-processing at household producer level and creating agglomeration to enhance local demand.

Abstract There have been many efforts to increase agricultural productivity as a step to improve farmers’ welfare, one of which is through food diversification. Processing sago into various kinds of processed food products is a strategic to accelerate sago diversification. The market potential for sago starch in Riau Province is quite growing along with the local food products development. The purpose of this study was to analyze practical steps as an acceleration of sago food diversification so that opportunities could be identified in improving the welfare of sago farmers in Riau Province. This study used a survey method through interviews and direct observation regarding raw materials and processing methods for sago-based food products and the development of sago diversification products. As a support, secondary data is used through documents and reports related to local processed food in Riau Province, nutritional aspects, community and farmer empowerment, as well as increasing added value of products as supporting economic aspects. It was analyzed through a comparison between the increase in population and the potential for sago production. The existing diversified sago food products have good consumer acceptance and nutritional aspects.

Aim: This paper aims to explain the added value increasing method of reject coal which has not utilized by the company. Methodology and Results: The method to increase added value in this study used the agglomeration process of briquettes form that changing composition by adding biomass. The biomass functions to minimize bottom ash produced from burning briquettes so that the briquettes burn entirely. Stages processes in this study consist of characterization, briquetting, physical test, and chemical test. Based on the analysis, reject coal still has a high calorific value of 5,929 cal/gr. Shapes and sizes that were not following needs of coal market or consumer due to reject coal to be a waste. Briquettes have been successfully produced and meet specification requirements based on applicable regulations in Indonesia. Besides physical properties, the briquette meet density requirements which are greater than or equal to 1 gr/cm3 and shatter index value is less than 0.5%. The gas emission test shows below threshold, which is CO 0-30 ppm, H2S 0-3.6 ppm, and NOx is not detected. After evaluation, it showed that by adding 30% biomass, ignition time could be decreased and remaining unburned briquettes or bottom ash was reduced as much as 68.68%. Conclusion, significance and impact study: The bio-coal briquettes is a strategic solution to environmental problems and alternative energy sources that are environmentally friendly, because CO and H2S emissions are still below the threshold, even for NOx not detected. Making Bio-coal briquettes as a solution to the utilization of reject coal mining waste to be used as an alternative energy source has been successfully carried out.

Organic agriculture, based on natural production technologies, obtains a great potential for reversing humanity to a healthy diet and living in harmony with nature by improving the state of the ecosystem. The share of organic food products in the market of the developed countries is already quite high; and various institutional systems of the industry have been introduced and are being improved in the leading countries of the world. Domestic agribusiness is currently lagging behind in these matters, but the situation should be significantly changed by the adopted law and state standard regulating the requirements for the organic sector. In this regard, an objective need arose to substantiate the capabilities and the resource potential of the Saratov region in this sphere. Within the framework of the presented research, an interdisciplinary fundamental platform to develop the theory of the organic food products market was formed. As a result, the elements of the scientific methodology (theories, principles, factors, methods) of its functioning were identified, which made it possible to substantiate the potential capacity of the regional consumer market for organic food. The calculation was made taking into account the rational norms of food consumption that meet modern requirements for a healthy diet, the heterogeneity of consumer preferences, the price gap for the main conventional and organic products in retail and the dispersion of prices for the latter, the implementation of state policy to protect and improve the health of certain population groups. This study is intended for the state management bodies of the agro-industrial sector, the leadership of agricultural, processing and marketing enterprises, the structures of wholesale and retail food products trade and branch research institutions.

Linguistics Students in Indonesia were expected to be able in identifying the languagein contact. This study sees Rokan Hulu object to study as one of interesting regencies in Riau Province inIndonesia lies among 3 regions having 3 different ethnics’ languages such as: West Sumatra Province withMinangese language, North Sumatra Province with Bataknese/Mandailing language, and Bengkalis Regencywith Malay language. This study aims at identifying language in contact of using dialectometry. Qualitativemethod employed in this study followed by quantitative method in calculating data. This study was conductedin Rokan Hulu Regency by 21 observation spots. In collecting data, questionnaire of Swadesh consisting of200 words had been recorded, transcribed in phonetic transcription, and drawn in language mapping. Theresult showed that the identification of language in contact by using dialectometry calculation was easy toidentify language in contact. Then, the language in contact in Rokan Hulu Regency was dominated by Malaylanguage and Mandailing language. It means that, there is only one language in Rokan Hulu Regency calledMalay-Mandailing language.

The recent interest in the topic of agri-food exports is caused by investment activity in agriculture after 2014 and, as a consequence, the positive dynamics of the main indicators of the industry's development. Russia’s food exports has grown more than 15 times since the early 2000s, and the dozens of countries around the world buy this food. At the same time, there are structural and regional features that indicate the limited results achieved in foreign trade, but Russia’s agri-food exports are growing only at the expense of three categories of goods (grain, vegetable oil and fish) with a lower added value than by top-processed food products. It is noted that despite the large number of importing countries, only a few of them purchase significant volumes of Russia’s food. The aim of the study is to quantify the regional differences in the involvement of the territory in the export of food and agricultural raw materials. The assessment showed that most of the Russia’s regions are poorly involved in foreign trade, therefore more than half of all food exports belong to several regions that have a large seaport and produce one of the three main food products. Based on the assessment results, a typology of Russia’s regions is presented according to the criterion of involvement in Russia’s export of agricultural products, taking into account the characteristics of exported products (upper, middle or lower processing). The results obtained make it possible to assess the real export activity of the agroindustrial sector of the regions and the potential for its increase in the future. To calculate the dynamics and regional distribution of Russia’s food exports we used the database of the Federal Customs Service of Russia (HS codes 01-24). In the article, we also calculated the Balassa index and the export diversification index, modified for analyzing the involvement of Russia’s regions in the export of agricultural products.
