Relationship between expenses associated with the Preferential School Grant (SEP) Law and SIMCE results in subsidized primary schools in 2014 ABSTRACT Achieving a quality and equitable education, as stated in our legislation, is necessary for all students have access and are able to obtain expected levels of achievement in learning, which is more complex in schools with high levels of vulnerability. The present research, which is part of a quantitative paradigm, was aimed to determining the relationship between resources provided by the Preferential School Grant and the average results of SIMCE evaluations of subsidized institutions in the year 2014. In this way, it was possible to take an initial step in searching for the efficient use of public resources, the improvement of learning results by students of our country. Keywords: SEP, SIMCE, resource management.

The issue of declining quality of education in Nigeria is of serious national concern and quality language education is not an exception. A wide range of factors have been pointed out by experts as being responsible for this situation. Our purpose in this paper is to discuss possible ways of improving on the quality of language education being that the quality of an educational system cannot transcend that of the teachers. The paper contends that for quality language education to be provided, the teacher must be effective; he must be well grounded in both language and literature to effectively impart quality language education. The paper examines the interwoven relationship between language and literature and postulates that merely having many years of classroom experience does not automatically make one an effective teacher. It also discusses several other methods that could be adopted in teaching so as to improve on the quality of language education being provided. The paper concludes that the delicate relationship between language, literature and effective teaching must be sufficiently appreciated by the language teacher in order for the objectives of language course to be attained.

The quality of education is often seen from the achievements of students. Meanwhile, student achievement in school is influenced by many factors. The financing factor is one factor that cannot be separated from the teaching and learning process. The relationship between educational funding and student achievement is still being debated. This study aims to reveal the relationship between the number of funding resources in schools and student achievement. This research used qualitative methods. Data collection was carried out using interviews, observation, and documentation techniques. The collected data were analyzed using interactive model analysis and purposive sampling techniques. The results of this study indicate that public elementary schools have limited sources of funding. The amount of money managed by one school differs depending on the number of students and the ability of parents. This study finds that education funding has no direct effect on student achievement. Schools that have significant financial resources do not necessarily have high achievements. The effectiveness of schools in managing their finances also becomes essential. Besides, the role of policymakers, the ability of teachers, and the participation of parents are crucial to increase the education quality.

Education is very important research subject in the field of economy. It is a major determinant of economic development and a central factor to human capital capacity-building. It is very common that the studies which focus on the examine the relationship between educational inputs and outputs generally analyze this relationship by Educational Production Function which connects a variety of input types to a given output. Following to this function, the aim of this study is to give a better understanding of the PISA-participating Asian countries’ success analysing the importance of the economic/socio-economic and educational factors on the quality of education, using Panel Data methods. These economic and non-economic variables give us a good mix of data to regress upon and make our determinations about the relationship between educational output and inputs. Since the quality of education is measured by student’s average performance on standardized international test, we focus on the PISA-based test scores in the study. PISA was developed by OECD in order to determine how efficiently the students at the 15 year-old age group are educated and trained. It was first performed in 2000 and then repeated every three years. Its aim is to provide comparable data with a view to enabling countries to improve their education policies and outcomes. In general, the implication of these findings can serve as a guideline for teachers, politicians, governments and give a light to educational policies and methodologies which help countries improve their quality on education.

Primary school education is an important factor for the success of the next level education. Several changes have been made to the education system in Indonesia to expand access of education in rural areas, improve the quality of education, building initiatives since 2001. In this study, the method used was Multivariate to explore the relationship between several independent variables, i.e. gender, residence and expenditure groups. Prerequisite tests performed showed that the data were normally distributed. The results of this study indicate that in the Hierarchical Cluster analysis, four clusters were found in number of gross participation rate (APK) of primary schools or equal in Indonesia year 2018, 2019 and 2020. The hypothesis test showed that gender, residence and expenditure group has no significant effect on APK of primary schools or equal students. This indicates that in year 2018, 2019 and 2020, primary schools or equal students have received education evenly in ratio of gender, residence and expenditure group.

The drive to improve basic education delivery in Nigeria has been given tremendous impetus in recent years. The goal of basic education can only be realised through provision of inclusive, equitable and quality education; several indicators have shown that authorities jettison quality to focus in increasing access. This paper, therefore, reviews the provision and delivery of basic education in Kano state. Specifically, the paper revealed how increasing enrolment in affects the efforts to improve the quality of education in the state. While the government initiatives made significant differences by increasing access to education of children who would have been denied schooling, quality indicators which include teachers-pupil ratio, students’ academic achievement, attrition and completion rates have stagnated at best or dropped. Efforts to ensure and maintain quality education in the state are reported to face serious challenges, including mainly inadequate funding that will ensure provision of essential teaching and learning facilities and insufficient trained and competent teachers. Finally, the paper recommends among others that, adequate funding and ensuring judicious management of the funds, competent teachers should be engaged and their welfare be adequately improved, as well as the supply and maintenances of teaching and learning facilities. Sincerity in the implementations of these and other recommendations would positively affect the over 3.5 million children in basic education, encouraging further enrolment and improving the quality of education they receive.
