The working pattern of shallot farmers in Enrekang Regency still adheres to the old model of production principles, were to increase production is accompanied by adding the inputs. In fact, in the dimension of the Cobb-Douglas production theory, the addition of inputs is not always necessary in line with the increase of production output. Therefore, this study aims to see the effectiveness of inputs in shallots farming in Enrekang Regency. The input variables used in this study include the area of land, capital, labor, and technology that are optimized and correlated with the production of shallots. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression by adopting the Cobb-Douglas production theory. The results of the analysis found that the use of inputs is reaching the condition of decreasing return to scale in shallots farming.

AbstractAs a result of heterogeneity nature of soils and variation in its hydraulic conductivity over several orders of magnitude for various soil types from fine-grained to coarse-grained soils, predictive methods to estimate hydraulic conductivity of soils from properties considered more easily obtainable have now been given an appropriate consideration. This study evaluates the performance of artificial neural network (ANN) being one of the popular computational intelligence techniques in predicting hydraulic conductivity of wide range of soil types and compared with the traditional multiple linear regression (MLR). ANN and MLR models were developed using six input variables. Results revealed that only three input variables were statistically significant in MLR model development. Performance evaluations of the developed models using determination coefficient and mean square error show that the prediction capability of ANN is far better than MLR. In addition, comparative study with available existing models shows that the developed ANN and MLR in this study performed relatively better.

ABSTRACT Accurate estimation of chlorophyll-a (Chl-a) concentration in inland waters through remote-sensing techniques is complicated by local differences in the optical properties of water. In this study, we applied multiple linear regression (MLR), artificial neural network (ANN), nonparametric multiplicative regression (NPMR) and four models (Appel, Kahru, FAI and O14a) to estimate the Chl -a concentration from combinations of spectral bands from the MODIS sensor. The MLR, NPMR and ANN models were calibrated and validated using in-situ Chl -a measurements. The results showed that a simple and efficient model, developed and validated through multiple linear regression analysis, offered advantages (i.e., better performance and fewer input variables) in comparison with ANN, NPMR and four models (Appel, Kahru, FAI and O14a). In addition, we observed that in a large shallow subtropical lake, where the wind and hydrodynamics are essential factors in the spatial heterogeneity (Chl-a distribution), the MLR model adjusted using the specific point dataset, performed better than using the total dataset, which suggest that would not be appropriate to generalize a single model to estimate Chl-a in these large shallow lakes from total datasets. Our approach is a useful tool to estimate Chl -a concentration in meso-oligotrophic shallow waters and corroborates the spatial heterogeneity in these ecosystems.

This research examines and analyzes motivation, work discipline and organizational culture on the performance of employees at PT Sharp Electronics Indonesia (division Customer Satisfaction) that have not been maximized, due to the achievement of the results of performance appraisal in the 2017L and 2018F periods there was a decrease in each assessment indicator which greatly impacted employee performance. The method used is quantitative research. With a population of 110 employees, PT Sharp Electronics Indonesia (Division Customer Satisfaction), with sampling techniques using Slovin formula with a total of 86 employees. The analytical method used in this study is multiple linear regression. The results of the study show that Motivation, Work Discipline and Organizational Culture together (Simultaneous) significantly influence the Performance of Employees of PT Sharp Electronics Indonesia (Division Customer Satisfaction).

The effect of profitability, capital structure, managerial ownership and independent board of commissioners on the company's value both simultaneously and partially. The technique used in sampling uses a purposive sampling method because in sampling it uses certain criteria. The research was conducted in the period 2016-2018. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression with the SPSS 22 program. The results of the study show that there is simultaneously an influence between profitability, capital structure, managerial ownership and independent board of commissioners on company value and partial profitability which has no influence on firm value, while capital structure, managerial ownership and independent board of commissioner have a significant effect on the value of the company.

This research aims to see the effect of tax sanctions, tax services, and tax knowledge on individual taxpayer compliance. The independent variables used are taxation sanctions, tax authorities, and tax knowledge while the dependent variable is taxpayer compliance. The population in this study is an individual taxpayer registered at KPP Pratama Jayapura, using a survey method, by distributing questionnaires directly to taxpayers found at the Jayapura municipal office by researchers. The analytical method used in this study is multiple linear regression with SPSS 16 test. Based on theresults of the analysis show taxation sanctions partially affect the individual taxpayer compliance seen from the significance smaller than 0.05, namely (0.008), tax authorities' services affect complianceIndividual taxpayers seen from the significant value is smaller than 0.05, that is (0,000), and knowledge of taxation affects the individual taxpayer compliance seen from the significance smallerthan 0.05, that is (0.007).

This research aims to partially and collectively analyze the influence of the academic atmosphere, the provision of facilities on the work spirit of permanent lecturers and to analyze the most dominant variable in influencing the work spirit of permanent lecturers at STIE Trisna Negara OKU Timur. The regression analysis results and the correlation between academic atmosphere and employee work spirit show the regression model Ŷ = 21,908 + 0.551X1 + e with a correlation coefficient of 0.589. The results of the regression analysis and the correlation between the provision of facilities on employee work spirit show the regression model Ŷ = 46.446 + 0.027X2 + e with a correlation coefficient of 0.033. The results of multiple regression analysis and the correlation between the academic atmosphere and the provision of facilities together on work spirit show the regression model Ŷ = 19.792 + 0.553X1 + 0.043X2 + e with a correlation coefficient of 0.592 at the 95% confidence level, it is found that the academic atmosphere and provision facilities can simultaneously predict employee work spirit. From the multiple linear regression equation above, it shows that the academic atmosphere variable (X1) has a more dominant influence on employee work spirit than the provision of facilities. This research was conducted on 45 respondents with the analytical method used is path analysis using SPSS software. Keywords : Academic Atmosphere, Facility Provision, Work spirit

The purpose of this study was to show the effect of mudharabah, musyarakah, and profit-sharing ratios on profitability with non-performing financing as moderating variables in Islamic commercial banks. This research method was designed using a quantitative approach. The sample used in this study was nine banks with a sampling technique using purposive sampling. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression. The results showed that mudharabah financing had a positive and significant effect on profitability, musyarakah financing and profit-sharing ratio did not affect profitability. Non-performing financing can moderate the effect of mudharabah financing and profit-sharing ratio but cannot moderate the effect of musyarakah financing on profitability. This research practically develops financing that can increase profitability and reduce non-performing financing to reduce losses for Islamic Commercial Banks.
