Character development which is an effort to realize the mandate of the Pancasila and the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution is motivated by the reality of the national problems that are developing at this time, such as: disorientation and not living the values of Pancasila; the limitations of integrated policy tools in realizing the values of Pancasila; shifting ethical values in the life of the nation and state; waning awareness of national cultural values; the threat of national disintegration; and the weakening of the nation's independence (National Policy Master Book for the Development of the Nation's Cultural Character 2010-2025). To support the realization of the ideals of character development as mandated in the Pancasila and the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution and to overcome the current national problems, the Government has made character development as one of the national development priority programs. That spirit is implicitly emphasized in the National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) for 2005-2015, where character education is placed as a foundation for realizing the vision of national development, namely "realizing a society of noble, moral, ethical, cultured, and civilized based on the Pancasila philosophy. " One model that can develop national cultural character values through citizenship education is the Project citizen model, which is a portfolio-based learning model. Through this model students are not only invited to understand scientific concepts and principles, but also develop their ability to work cooperatively through empirical practice learning activities. thus learning will be increasingly challenging, activating and more meaningful

Various scientific knowledge has been lacking for a long time, however, today, when the development of creative, moral, innovative potential of each person and humanity as a whole has become a priority for any individual and society, has become the most important, generalizing indicator, criterion of national development. Information has always and everywhere been valued as a jewel, on which huge financial resources were spent to acquire its media, have always been important. With the advent of radio and television and, ultimately, modern ICTs, it has increasingly become a product that has always been in demand and also sold well, which, unfortunately, has helped turn the miracle of human communication into a monster — a weapon against the sustainable. development of mankind, the protection of which requires deep knowledge of the human psyche, the laws of society and decision-making algorithms. Culture is one of the foundations for the existence of Indonesia as a nation, as it is expressed in the second stanza of her national anthem. The government has taken an initiative to prioritize national character building, which places character education to realize the vision of national development. One of the efforts to visualize this Indonesian is constructed through a Bukalapak advertisement entitled “Barongsai Indonesia, Juara Hati Membangun Negeri,” which presented the Kong Ha Hong lion dance group and was published via Youtube. This study aims to see that the character values of the Indonesian nation can be constructed through digital media, more precisely through an advertisement. This research employed a qualitative approach with a constructivist paradigm that sees facts as unique and has a special meaning. In addition, the analysis used Thomas Albert Sebeok's visual semiotics to depict several similar classifications to different visual symbols. It was found that every advertisement scene contained both visual and audio messages related to the adaptation of the culture and character of the Indonesian. The contribution and novelty of this research in its construction of the deep meaning of an advertisement are that the conscience has played a major role in the process of cultural adaptation in which the national characters have been honed through the actual actions in the heart-mind, body, and spirit. This research suggested that the character of the Indonesian nation can be formed through cultural adaptation, as proven by the Kong Ha Hong lion dance
