 Language is a self-reflection. The more polite the language is used, reflects politely in thought and action. However, polite and polite language in action is not easy to apply, especially for those who are still at an early age. This is also supported by the abundance of language use in the educational environment. The habit of using polite language should start early and need the maximum support from various environments, including the educational environment. The community service activities are done by growing the language-friendly culture in the school by doing counseling.The purpose of this activity is to provide understanding and understanding of the citizens of the school importance of language politeness. By using polite language, the learning climate in the school will be conducive to focus on the learning objectives, one of which is character education. This activity is a problem solving as well as an alternative to create a peaceful learning environment and support teaching and learning activities. The characters that can be trained with the use of polite language are faithful and devoted, tolerance, love the homeland, discipline, cooperation, solidarity, honesty, exemplary, and love the truth.  Kata Kunci: Pendidikan Karakter; Kesantunan Berbahasa.

The Strengthening Character Education and Character through Story Telling Method with Darunnadwah Islamic Boarding School partners located at Jln. Gatot Subroto No. 55, Karangasih, North Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java is a community service program with the aim of strengthening the character education and character of students in partner locations due to the lack of understanding of the use of story telling methods in teaching and learning activities in schools. The method used is the lecture and discussion method. Pondok teachers are provided with structured material and the provision of several videos containing examples of story telling. This gives a positive influence in the form of new knowledge and skills, storytelling skills that are useful in teaching in the classroom. The results of this activity are, the enthusiasm or learning motivation of trainees should be appreciated and the teachers already have basic knowledge in applying story telling methods in strengthening character education and students' character and some techniques in reading stories in English. This study aims to describe the process of developing teaching materials by using Glasser model in the Indonesian language course in FKIP UMSU. The sample of the research is 34-second semester A morning students in the Study Program of Language and Literature of Indonesia, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Muhammadiyah, Sumatera Utara. The questionnaire instrument was used to determine the student's response and activeness to the developed teaching material, the observation sheet used to know the condition of the students in the learning process, and the validation sheet instrument used for the development of teaching materials based on SAP using Glasser model. The result of descriptive research on student's response shows that 100% of students were happy about the teaching materials of Bahasa Indonesia (Teaching Materials, Guided Exercises and Lecture Strategies) and 91.66% of students think that the teaching materials are new to them. After using the teaching materials developed by the researcher and following the teaching and learning activities, students (100%) are interested in following the next lesson, the readability of the language of the learning material is easy to understand (91.66%) and the guidance given by the lecturer is clear (100%). While the self-employed activity is fun for students (91.66%). Students activity in learning activities was shown by their involvement in problem solving, his involvement in carrying out learning tasks, assessing his ability, digging and developing his own knowledge. Based on the validation sheet on the test of learning result 1 obtained information that from the 3 learning objectives formulated in SAP I and SAP II there is 1 learning objectives that have not yet completed. Based on the results of descriptive analysis of the test results of learning 2 it was obtained that the 3 learning objectives formulated in SAP III and SAP IV was finished learning objective.

The objective of this community service activity / PKM (Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat) is to provide knowledge to participants (parents and children) about the importance of character education from early age through the family. This program was motivated by problems that happens in society in Ngusikan, Jombang, East Java, children in that area addicted to play gadgets and have a tendency to anti-social behavior and lack of social courtesy. The method in this program used a dialogical collaborative-participatory approach includes in-house training (lectures, questions and answers, discussions) for the delivery of material, direct practice to make storytelling media, testing, practice of using fairy tale media and mentoring assisted by KKNT students. The number of participants in this program is approximately 40 participants, including students. This community service activity (PKM) was followed by women who have job as a housewife. The participants stated that this activity was very useful and was a new experience. This community service activity went well and was greeted with enthusiasm from the participants..

The advent of the COVID-19 pandemic witnessed a significant consumption of digital contents. Teaching and learning activities, including at the State Elementary School, Pamulang, Barat, shifted to online domains. Whatsapp was consequently the initial means of engaging the students, but eventually appeared relatively monotonous and boring. This community service intends to provide a quality learning resource on the creation of video contents, using Filmora and Youtube applications. Ultimately, the overall goal is to produce highly creative and innovative teachers. These materials were delivered using sound or captivating animations. Consequently, teachers were sufficiently equipped to generate interesting videos that potentially increase students’ interest and interaction during the online learning process.

The program to help students learn is a community service carried out at SD Negeri 057239 Sekoci, Besitang District, which is located at Sukaramai Hamlet, Sekoci Village, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra. for 1 month starting from March 31, 2021 to May 6, 2021. The activities carried out in this service are teaching and learning activities at home and helping students in doing school assignments which are carried out for 1 month. The material comes from thematic books and guidebooks from schools. In the implementation of this Community Service there are several obstacles such as: The distance to teaching at home between classes 3,4 and 5 is very far in insufficient time, Lack of attention from students in learning at home, students' awareness of their responsibility in doing assignments is still lacking, lack of communication and parental attention to their children.

Educational Gaming Device, or  Alat Peraga Edukatif (APE) is a media which should be mastered by teachers in teaching learning activities for young learners. By using APE, it gives advantages for children in developing their motoric abilities, concentrations, and also their ability in language and knowledge. Based on the result of observation and interview to one of teachers in RA Asy-Asfi’iyyah in Pekalongan Jepara, the priority of problems is the weakness of teachers in creating APE. The aim of this community service activity was to give training skills to teachers dealing with APE specifically in creating English soft-book from sponge sheet. The method used was  preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The results of this dedication are: (1) the teachers know  the strategy of how to teach joyful learning (2) the teachers were also able to make English soft-book well through four steps, i.e drawing, cutting, sticking, and compiling become a book ,(3) the teachers are able to apply the APE in teaching and learning processess.Keywords: Capacity Building, Teachers of Kindergarten, Young Learners, Educational Gaming Device, soft book. ABSTRAKAlat peraga edukatif (APE) merupakan media yang harus dikuasai oleh guru dalam proses belajar mengajar bagi anak usia dini. Dengan menggunakan APE, maka akan memberikan manfaat bagi anak yaitu melatih motorik, melatih konsentrasi, dan juga melatih bahasa dan wawasan anak. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dan wawancara dengan salah satu guru RA Asy- Asyfi’iyyah di desa Pekalongan, maka prioritas permasalahan adalah lemahnya guru dalam membuat APE. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah memberikan keterampilan kepada guru mengenai APE berupa buku bantal berbahasa Inggris dari spons ati. Adapun metode pelaksanaanya adalah mulai tahapan persiapan, pelaksanaanya sampai evaluasi. Hasil dari pengabdian ini adalah: (1) para guru mendapatkan pengetahuan mengenai strategi mengajar yang menyenangkan; (2) para guru juga dapat membuat buku bantal berbahasa Inggris dengan baik melalui tahap menggambar, menggunting, menempel, dan menyusun buku; dan (3) para guru dapat mengaplikasikan APE tersebut dalam pembelajaran di kelas.Kata Kunci: Capacity building, Guru RA, Anak usia dini, Alat peraga edukatif, Buku bantal.

Learning innovation is an important thing to be possessed by the teacher. This is because through the update that is later success in learning objectives can be delivered optimally. As one of these innovations is the use of learning media. This study was conducted to reveal the effectiveness of the use of audio media in the form of recording readings of short stories on the quality of the learning process of appreciation of the short story. This study used qualitative research methods class action, this study resulted in a conclusion that the audio media can improve the quality of the learning process of short stories with three benchmarks, namely the increasing activity of students during the activity apersepsi, the increased activity of students during the teaching and learning activities, and increased courage students to present the results of its work in the discussion forum.

The study attempted to analyze the implementation of character education in the English lessons at SMP Negeri 1 Banjar. The subjects of the research were the eighth grade students and the English teacher. The researcher analyzed the lesson plans and the implementation to investigate how character education was inserted in the teaching of the four basic skills in English which has been integrated in the process of teaching and learning in 2013 curriculum. The instruments in this study consisted of interview guide, recorder, lesson plan analysis checklist, and observation checklist. Result of the analysis indicates that the teacher inserts the character values in indicators, learning materials, learning steps, and assessment instrument in lesson plans. In teaching and learning activities, character values are also implemented. However, the character values which are inserted in learning activities are different from one with another. It depends on the topic and indicators that will be achieved. In the evaluation, the strategies which were used by the teacher were in the form of advice and scoring rubric to assess character education in the process of teaching and learning.

Learning media is one of the learning components that has an important role in Teaching and Learning Activities. The use of media should be a part that must get the attention of the teacher/facilitator in every learning activity. Therefore, the teacher/facilitator needs to learn how to determine learning media in order to make the achievement of learning objectives effective in the teaching and learning process.

Character education is important in the present given the rapid development of times can change the character of children to be backward. This research uses descriptive qualitative method by collecting field data and this research determines the subject of the research object by referring to interview guidelines for conducting interviews and observations. The result of this study indicate that character education in class 2 TKJ 2 always prioritizes approaches to be open to each other. So the teacher can easily understand the character of wild and deep children, and it is easy to be influenced towards a better direction. This research has implications for the school to pay attention to the character of their students and make changes more aggressively and shouldn’t break up communication with students and parents when outside teaching and learning activities, must continue to evaluate with parents, so student can help each other in educate the child’s character in a better direction.
