Technological developments have made online learning tools become a part of educational process. The Covid-19 pandemic has made them a necessity. Learning a foreign language with the help of e-learning software is a debatable subject of 21st century. Microsoft Teams® is one of this software and understanding its effect on learning a foreign language is worth studying. Thus, this study aims to understand students’ views on learning French online with Microsoft Teams. The design of this study is the case study. The participants were 23 students learning French as a foreign language. The data were gathered through semi-structured interview form and the data were analyzed through content analysis. The results of the study reveal three themes on this subject. These themes are the reality of distance learning, the user friendliness of Microsoft Teams, and learning a foreign language online. With these themes, this study tries to compose a deeper understanding about learning a foreign language with a popular software.

The relevance of the study under consideration is due to the need to increase the efficiency of students independent work in solving computational problems. A theoretical rationale is proposed and the practical implementation of an automated training and diagnostic system for the formation of skills to solve problems according to the “white box” model is described. The leading idea of the study is the construction of mental schemes for a given topic, which allow to visualize the dynamics of changes in the learner’s level of ability to solve computational problems. The methods of accounting for forgetting educational information and methods of personalized selection of tasks are substantiated. The site for self-management of user independent work is available at the link: http://msbx.ru. The materials of the article are of practical value for teachers who use e-learning tools in the educational process.

The authors of the article draw attention to the relevance of the use of e-learning tools to improve the quality of student preparation, as well as they consider the specifics of pedagogical communication within the framework of the information and educational environment. The language of education changes: there is a transition from written forms to audiovisual ones. In addition to traditional actors of the educational process (a teacher and a student), the third actor appears. It is learning tools that operate on the basis of information and communication technologies. The use of e-learning resources in the learning process allows to provide flexible forms of students’ interaction with a teacher and educational content; to organize interactive learning, follow-up and final assessment; to facilitate the management of the educational process for a teacher. The combination of in-class and online (extramural) forms of attendance is most effective. Also, it is necessary to include a cooperative learning approach in the e-learning model. The article describes the experience of using the virtual learning environment (Moodle) in organization of the educational process in a number of subjects (“Psychology of Lying”, “Ergonomics”, etc.) for the students of humanitarian and electrical engineering majors.

The article examines the impact of the digitalization process on the creation and use of modern electronic tools and technologies for teaching a foreign language in higher education. The article presents the main electronic tools and technologies that are used in the Financial University during the educational process of teaching a foreign language. The author notes the effectiveness of the implementation of the personality-oriented approach, which is provided by individualization and differentiation of training using the Bank of test tasks created by university teachers, and the electronic educational platform Rosetta Stone Advanced. The use of electronic learning tools and digital technologies allows to develop self-organization of the student. Changing the role of the teacher to the role of the manager of educational activities contributes to the formation of the ability to constant self-studying the student throughout his professional and social life. The effectiveness of the electronic learning tools use is proved by the high level of students’ foreign language competence and their assessment of the foreign language teachers’ pedagogical activity with the results of the survey "Students’ view on teachers".

Modern theories of foreign language teaching are getting developed. The constant society digitalization influences it. Generation Z students closely associate their lives with technology. Moreover, teachers must find ways to apply effectively information and communication technologies in the learning process. In our opinion, one of the ways is the concept of blended learning. It implies the optimal combination of traditional pedagogical technologies and distance, online learning. The purpose of our research is to examine the effectiveness of the concept of blended learning in the process of learning a foreign language for students of non-philological majors. For this purpose, we conducted a pedagogical experiment. It assumes the introduction of the concept of blended learning in the educational process of higher education. The research was carried out with Ukrainian students of non-philological majors during the study of English (offline and online). Also, international students who are studying Ukrainian as a foreign language were involved. Comparative analysis of students' readiness to learn using different blended learning tools was used. Methods of mathematical statistics (nonparametric Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney criteria) were utilized to analyse and process the experimental data. The results of the study indicate the effectiveness of blended learning technology usage in the process of foreign language teaching. Nevertheless, they show that the proposed tools help students better master a foreign language. Besides, students are both in active learning and passively reinforcing their knowledge using digital technologies during education. The authors consider it indisputable that blended learning tools should be used to some extent for students of all majors. The authors understand that the proposed tools are not exhaustive and definitive. Their list should be extended, and the use of specific tools depends on the teacher, students, the course, and other factors.

The aim of the study is to determine experiences of children attending a preschool class and their teacher about class rules, desirable and undesirable behaviors and strategies followed by the teacher concerning these behaviors. The study is a case study, which is one of the qualitative research methods. The participants were 14 children attending a class for 5 year-olds in an independent kindergarten and the teacher of the class. Semi-structured interview technique was used in the study. In addition, in two of the questions in the interview, the students were asked to draw pictures to help them describe their experiences in more detail. The data in the study were analyzed by content analysis, categorized by coding, and themes and sub-themes were obtained. As a result of the research, it was found that the opinions of the children and their teachers about class rules and undesirable behaviors were in parallel with each other. The study revealed that the experiences of children and the teacher overlap in terms of behaviors and strategies followed by the teacher in response to desirable behaviors.
Abstract – In the era of technology, learning can be supported with mobile devices inside and outside of the classroom. In the hope of taking advantage of technology advances, teachers worldwide have integrated technologies into teaching to effectively deliver lesson content and address students’ needs. However, few non-native learners are exposed to mobile devices to optimize self-studying English outside the classroom. Thus, the present paper conducts a case study to look into mobile devices’ applications to enhance self-studying English as a foreign language. The study participants included 26 Japanese and Vietnamese learners divided into two groups over 15 weeks. Quantitative and qualitative methods were used to analyze and compare the results with R-Studio statistics software. The present study sought to encourage collaboration and foster the autonomy of learners with mobile devices’ assistance as supporting language self-learning tools. The findings of the present research will be discussed in terms of the efficiency and potentials of mobile devices as supportive tools outside of classroom activities among Vietnamese and Japanese students as non-native learners of English.
