The purpose of this research is to understanding the effect of organic matter on BPS activity in reducing sulfate. Research carried out in batch culture using erlenmeyer, and using a completely randomized design (CRD). The treatment given is organic matter amounted to 308 mg / L, 617 mg / L and 1.234 mg / L and control. Each treatment was repeated 3 times. The parameters observed in this study is SO4- concentration. Using Duncan New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level for data analysis. The results showed that the molecular concentration of 617 mg / L was able to decrease the sulfate concentration at the fastest, then consecutively the concentration of molasses 1.234 mg / L, and control. Based on the Anova test the significant value is less than 0.05. Thus it can be stated that there is an effect of addition molasses to decrease sulfate concentration by sulfate reducing bacteria consortium.

The effect of durian flesh on the characteristics of Gayo Arabica wine coffee quality by fermentation methods has been investigated. This study aims to determine the effect of giving durian flesh to the characteristics of the Arabica Gayo wine coffee and to determine the optimum addition amount of durian flesh. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications. Data analysis using ANOVA was then continued with Duncan's New Multiple Range test (DNMRT) at a significance level of 5%.  The treatments were: the addition of durian flesh 0, 25, 50, 75, and 100 g to 1000 g of a coffee cherry. Based on the sensory test, the highest score was obtained by adding 0 g of durian flesh to 1000 g coffee cherry (Score: 76.5)  which was followed by the addition of 75 g of durian pulp to 1000 g coffee cherry (score: 72.75).  The results showed that the addition of durian pulp had a significant effect on the ash content and caffeine content but did not significantly affect the water content.

<p>As a result of volcanic eruptions led to the fall of the ash, but there is no much research conducted against nutrient content and the nutrient availability in soil. Disposals of volcanic ash and organic matter are expected fill Mg need in the land. Magnesium In Alfisol is still  sufficientless for peanuts. The purpose of this research is study of the impact of volcanic ash and organic fertilizer for the availability and uptake of peanuts Mg  in the Alfisol. The experiments did  in a greenhouse used completely randomized design with one factor. Data were analyzed with F test rate from 95%, and if the  treatments showed significant influenced were continued with rate duncan's multiple range test fence from 95%. The observed variables include the levels of chlorophyll, available Mg and uptake Mg. Research results show that the interaction from treatment chlorophyll content, available Mg and uptake  Mg. Based on the findings of the observations of volcanic ash disposals operating significantly impact the availability of magnesium.</p>

The aim of this research was to study the effect of incubation time on onggok fermentation with enrichment N, S, P by Trichoderma reesei on nutrient value. The materials of this research were onggok, T. Reesei and N, S, P element. This research used completely randomized design with 4 treatments different incubation time with 5 replication; T0: 0 day, T1: 2 days, T2: 4 days and T3: 6 days. The parameters observed were crude protein, crude fat, crude fiber, and nitrogen free extract of fermented onggok. Data analysis was used by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and continued by Duncan’s Multiple Range test if they were significantly different. Results of this research showed that there were haven’t effect (P>0.05) of the treatment on nutrient value. The conclusion of this research was incubation time on onggok fermentation with enrichment N, S, P by Trichoderma reesei have not been able to decrease crude fiber.Keywords : Onggok, fermentation, T.reesei

This experiment was conducted in order to optimize and quantify the acceptability of mango jam enriched with pectin extracted from husk of cacao grown in the department of Sucre, Colombia. The experiment was performed using a two-factor, completely randomized design: pectin concentration (0.2%, 0.4%, 0.6%) and citric acid concentration (0.1%, 0.3%, 0.5%). All experiments were conducted in triplicate for each treatment, for a total of 27 experimental units. Variables such as fresh fruits (65.5%) and sugar (34.0%) were held constant. Data analysis was performed using an analysis of variance while the comparison of means was performed by the Tukey's range test. After 24 hours, a test for measuring product acceptability was conducted among 60 people using a 7-point hedonic scale. The survey yielded an acceptability value (I like moderately) of 6.7 for pectin concentrations of 0.2% and citric acid concentrations of 0.3%.

Banana is one of the important fruit crop in Village of Sidomulyo, Bantul, Yogyakarta. One of important diseases which become the constraint in development of banana is Fusarium wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense (Foc). This fungus has high race diversity and  virulence, so that it required early detection for prevention and control of disease. This experiment was aimed to figure out race and virulence of Foc isolates from Village of Sidomulyo, Bantul, Yogyakarta. The 13 tested isolates were isolates of PR11, PKJ20, RU20, PR30, AH40, PKJ40, A41, RB42, PR43, RU51, A60, RP60, and A80. Race was molecularly detected using two types of primers, i.e. General Foc primer FocEf3 and specific primer for race 4 (Foc-1/Foc-2). Virulence test was performed on banana seedlings of Ambon Kuning cultivar using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 14 treatments and 4 repetitons. The observed parameters were external and internal symptoms, calculation of disease severity index and disease intensity. Data were analyzed using variance and further test of Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at 5 % level. The results showed that all isolates were Foc and 9 of 13 isolates were grouped into race 4, i.e. A80, RP60, PR11, A41, AH40, PKJ40, PR30, RB42, and PR43. The highest and lowest virulences were consecutively expressed by PR30, RB42, RU51, RP60, PR43, PKJ40, PR11, A41, AH40, RU20, PKJ20, A60, and A80, with severity index on leaves and rhizomes ranging 1.61-2.91 and 2.25-7, respectively. IntisariPisang merupakan tanaman buah unggulan di Desa Sidomulyo Kecamatan Bambanglipuro, Kabupaten Bantul. Salah satu penyakit penting yang menjadi kendala dalam pengembangan pisang adalah layu fusarium yang disebabkan oleh jamur Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense (Foc). Jamur ini memiliki keragaman ras dan virulensi yang tinggi, sehingga deteksi dini diperlukan untuk pencegahan dan pengendalian penyakit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ras dan virulensi isolat Foc asal Desa Sidomulyo, Kecamatan Bambanglipuro, Kabupaten Bantul. Isolat yang diuji sebanyak 13 isolat, yakni isolat PR11, PKJ20, RU20, PR30, AH40, PKJ40, A41, RB42, PR43, RU51, A60, RP60, dan A80. Pengujian ras secara molekuler dengan menggunakan dua jenis primer yakni primer Foc in general FocEf3 dan primer spesifik ras 4 Foc-1/Foc-2. Uji virulensi pada bibit kultivar ambon kuning dengan menggunakan Racangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 14 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Parameter yang diamati berupa pengamatan gejala luar dan gejala dalam, penghitungan indeks keparahan penyakit dan intensitas penyakit. Analisis data menggunakan sidik ragam dan uji lanjut Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) pada taraf 5 %. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa semua isolat merupakan isolat Foc dan dari 13 isolat yang digunakan terdapat 9 isolat yang merupakan ras 4 yakni isolat A80, RP60, PR11, A41, AH40, PKJ40, PR30, RB42, dan PR43. Isolat yang memiliki virulensi tertinggi sampai terendah berturut-turut adalah PR30, RB42, RU51, RP60, PR43, PKJ40, PR11, A41, AH40, RU20, PKJ20, A60, dan A80, dengan indeks keparahan pada daun berkisar 1,61−2,91 dan indeks keparahan pada bonggol 2,25−7.

Good soil contains sufficient nutrient content for plants. Some of the most important nutrients in the soil include nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. However, regosol soil cannot provide enough nutrients and water. The objectives of this study include: 1) comparing the volume of water given with a frequency of 1, 2 or 3 days for NPK nutrient availability on regosol soils; 2) determining the amount of NPK nutrients available after 30 days of incubation by giving different compost doses; 3) determining the interaction between the frequency of water supply and decomposition of organic matter in providing NPK nutrients to regosol soils. This study used a completely randomized design method with a 3 × 3 factorial pattern with 3 replications, therefore there were 27 experimental units. Data analysis of the observed variables was done using variance analysis with SAS program ver 9.0 and if there was a real treatment effect followed by a different test between treatments using BNT (5%). Compost applied to the soil was done, this was indicated by a low C / N value of 14.3 and in accordance with the SNI value standards of 10-20. The results of the study showed that the application of water and organic matter independently has a significant effect on the N content, P, and K in the ground. Whereas, the interaction between the two treatments of water frequency application and organic matter had no significant effect on the levels of N, P, and K in the soil. The conclusion of this study, with the application of water once every 3 days and the treatment of 300g/pot organic matter (B2) was best to provide the highest Ntotal value (0.53%), P available (17, 50 mg/kg), and Kexch (2.03 me/100g). Keywords: compost, frequency of water supply, regosol   ABSTRAK Tanah yang baik memiliki kandungan hara yang cukup bagi tanaman. Beberapa unsur hara yang terpenting dalam tanah antara lain ialah nitrogen, fosfor dan kalium. Tetapi tanah regosol tidak dapat menyediakan unsur hara dan air dengan cukup. Tujuan dari penelitian ini antara lain: 1) membandingkan volume air yang diberikan dengan frekwensi 1, 2 atau 3 hari sekali untuk ketersediaan hara NPK pada tanah regosol; 2) menetapkan banyaknya unsur hara NPK tersedia setelah 30 hari inkubasi dengan pemberian dosis kompos yang berbeda; dan 3) mengetahui interaksi antara frekwensi pemberian air dan dekomposisi bahan organik dalam menyediakan hara NPK pada tanah regosol. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan pola faktorial 3 × 3 dengan 3 ulangan sehingga terdapat 27 satuan percobaan. Analisis data dari variabel yang diamati menggunakan analisis ragam dengan program SAS ver 9.0 dan jika terdapat pengaruh perlakuan yang nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji beda antar perlakuan menggunakan BNT (5%). Kompos yang diaplikasi ke tanah sudah matang, hal ini ditandai dengan nilai C/N yang rendah yaitu 14,3 dan sesuai dengan standar nilai SNI yaitu 10-20. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian air dan bahan organik secara mandiri memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap kadar N, P, dan K dalam tanah. Sedangkan, interaksi antara kedua perlakuan air dan bahan organik tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kadar N, P, dan K dalam tanah. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini, dengan pemberian air 3 hari sekali dan perlakuan bahan organik 300g/pot (B2) adalah dosis yang lebih baik untuk mendapat nilai Ntotal, Ptersedia dan Kdd tertinggi yaitu N total (0,53%), P tersedia (17,50 mg/kg), dan K dd (2,03 me/100g). An experiment with aim to study the effect of probiotics combination level and length of fermentation on qualityimprovement of rice straw had been conducted at the Laboratory of Nutrition and Feed of Animal HusbandryFaculty, Mataram University. The research was arranged in a Completely Randomized Design in factorialarrangement 3 x 3 with 3 replications. The first factor was the level of probiotics (0, 2 and 4%), the second factorwas the period of fermentation (2, 4 and 6 weeks).The variables measured were crude protein, crude fiber, NDF,ADF, cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin, and in vitro digestibility of dry matter and organic matter. Data wereanalyzed by analysis of variance and tested further by Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The result show thattreatments combination of the probiotics level and fermentation period did not affect (P>0.05) the chemicalcomposition and digestibility. The level of probiotics increased (P<0.05) the crude protein and in vitro dry matterdigestibility. Meanwhile, the lenght of fermentation increased the crude protein and in vitro digestibility of drymatter and organic matter, but decreased the crude fiber, NDF, ADF, cellulose, and hemicellulose of Amofer ricestraw.

Kluwek seeds (Pangium edule Reinw.) have a low germination percentage caused by dormancy due to hard seed coat. Kluwek seed germination takes about 1 month. The purpose of this study was to obtain a combination of treatments that were effective in increasing the percentage of kluwek seed germination and reducing the intensity of kluwek seed dormancy. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) factorial design. The first factor was immersion time (H) consisting of five levels, namely H0: Control (0 hour), H1: 6 hours, H2: 12 hours, H3: 18 hours, and H4: 24 hours and the second factor was giberellin concentration (G) with five levels namely G0: 0 ppm, G1: 25 ppm, G2: 50 ppm, G3: 75 ppm and G4: 100 ppm. Data analysis used Analysis of Variance (Anava) and further tested with Duncans' Multiple Range test (DMRT) at a significant level of 5%. The results obtained showed that the percentage of seed germination without immersion is 6.67%. Soaking using aquades produces an average germination percentage of 28.33%. The most effective treatment was GA3 75 ppm for 24 hours with seed germination of 60%, while the value of dormant intensity is 40%.Keywords: dormancy, germination, gibberellin, kluwek.

Abstract Tilapia is a freshwater fish species are widely cultivated in Indonesia. Tilapia production continues to grow every year, the average increase in the number of experienced production tilapia reaches 22.24% in the 2010-2011 range. Tilapia production in 2011 reached 567.449 tons and was second aquaculture production by major commodity after seaweed. This study aimed to determining differences in extract ether digestibility, organic matter, and energy on feed derived from different factories in tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) using surgery techniques. The research design is using completely randomized design. The variables were measured extract ether digestibility, organic matter, and energy in tilapia feed. Analysis of the data processed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) to determine differences in treatment given. If there is a difference then followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test with a significance level of 5%. Based on the findings that there were no significant differences (p>0.05) in extract ether , organic matter, and energy digestibility of the feed value of tilapia. The results stated that the feed treatments A, B and C efficiently digested by tilapia.
