The quail is one kind of poultries that can give the distribution of society interests in case of eggs providing. There are kinds of research that related to feed aspect, one of them is the way to increase the quality of feed by adding ginger flour and turmeric flour on commercial feed. The aim of this research is to review the influences of giving the ginger flour (Zinger officinale) and turmeric flour (Curcuma domestica) on commercial feed toward quail performance (cortunix cortunix japonica) in layer period. Complete randomized design with used by the following treatment: P0 (commercial feeding without ginger flour and turmeric flour), P1 (commercial feeding with 1% ginger flour), P2 (commercial feeding with 1% turmeric flour), and P3 (feed commercial with 0.5% ginger flour and 0.5% turmeric flour). The treatment was conducted to quail aged 35 days until 67 days old. The feed and drink was given by adlibitium (always available). Giving ginger flour and turmeric flour does not affect the feed consumption, egg’s weight, feed convertion, depletion, and the production of quail’s egg in layer period, however, by adding 1% ginger on rations that is used, it can improve the convertion in the amount of 12.4% and increase the producing of egg in the amount of 19.9%.Key words : Quail performance of layer period, ginger flour, turmeric flour, commercial feed

Multimedia is the combination of images, sound and motion. This offers some exciting and potentially very useful opportunities for the presentation of scientific data, although it also offers potential for excesses that will distract from the message. Of the three components, sound is probably the most easily overused. The exact choice of techniques will vary with the audience, the most likely types for scientific data being researchers, students, practioners (in the case of agriculture, producers) and industry personnel. The electronic nature of multimedia allows alternate venues for a presentation, such as internet conferences, where the audience may view the presentation one at a time. In this case interactivity, non-linearity and hyperlinking become keys. They allow complete flexibility in the way a member of the audience approaches the talk. Those with more background may choose not to explore lateral sections providing additional detail in methods or background. The use of these techniques is just beginning a rapid expansion. At this time there are still several drawbacks. Projection facilities are few and a system problem may terminate your presentation. In addition, the quality of images is not yet as high as is the case with slides. However, these problems are rapidly disappearing.
The quality of an artificial feed particularly the stability of the feed in the water is highly determined by binding agents. The objective of this study was to determine the optimum dosage of seaweed, Gracilaria gigas meal as binder. Completely randomized design was used in this study, with three dosages of sea weed meal as treatment feeds, i.e. 3, 6, and 9%, with three replications. The control feed was a commercial feed. The physical parameters measured were water stability, hardness level, homogeneity level, sinking rate, attractiveness, and palatability of the feed, and the chemical parameters were protein and lipid dispersion. Based on parameters of hardness level, homogeneity level, protein and lipid dispersion, feed used G. gigas meal of 9% was better than the commercial feed; parameters of sinking rate, attractiveness, and palatability with G. gigas of 9% was equal to the commercial feed; and based on parameters of water stability, the commercial feed was better than treatment feeds. However, when the three treatment feeds were compared, the 9% dosage of G. gigas meal was better than the other two dosages. Based on the results, the feed using seaweed, G. gigas meal of 9% was the best feed.

Key words: Artificial feed, binder, feed quality, G. gigas meal
