This study aims to determine the effect of fermented feed in the form of Indegofera Sp and Eurycoma Longifolia (El) leaves on the quality of Arabian chicken semen. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments consisted of P.1 : Commercial Feed, P.2 : 80% Indegofera sp + 20% Eurycoma longifolia (El) leaves, P.3: 70% Indegofera sp leaves + 30% Eurycoma longifolia (El) leaves, P.4 : 60% Indegofera sp + 40% Eurycoma longifolia (El) leaves. Semen collection was carried out on day 30 after feeding. The semen quality were observed and analyzed using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Duncan's test. The results showed that the combination of two fermented feed (Indegofera Sp and Eurycoma Longifolia) leaves had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the quality of arab chicken spermatozoa. The fermented feed is able to improve the quality of Arabic chicken semen.

This study aims to find out the effect of combination of fermented Indegofera leaf and corn on the growth of Arabic chicken. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment consisted of P.1: Commercial Feed; P.2: 80% Indegofera sp leaves + 20% Corn; P.3: 70% Indegofera leaves + 30% Corn; P.4: 60% Indegofera leaves + 40% Corn. Measurement of Arab chickens weight was carried out once a week for one month. The weight data were analyzed using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Duncan's test. The results showed that the combination of fermented feed consisting  Indegofera sp leaves and corn had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the growth of Arab chickens. The conclusion shows that fermented feed of Indegofera leaves sp and corn as chicken diet could improve the growth of Arabian chickens.

ABSTRAK  Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian bubuk daun Moringa oleifera (MO) terhadap kuantitas dan kualitas semen sapi peranakan ongole (PO). Metode penelitian menggunakan percobaan lapang dengan rancangan acak lengkap dengan tiga perlakuan pemberian MO sebesar 0 kg/ekor/hari (P1); 0,05 kg/ekor/hari (P2) dan 0,1 kg/ekor/hari (P3). Analsis data menggunakan one way analysis of variance. Masing-masing perlakuan terdiri atas empat ekor dengan tiga periode pengamatan sebagai ulangan, yaitu periode pertama dan ketiga tanpa MO, dan periode kedua diberikan MO pada P2 dan P3. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa volume dan pH semen perlakuan P1, P2 dan P3 tidak berbeda semua periode pengamatan. Motilitas massa spermatozoa P2 dan P3 periode kedua dan ketiga menunjukan nilai +++ berbeda nyata (P<0,05) dibandingkan dengan P1 (++); motilitas individu  perlakuan P1 menunjukkan nilai terendah 60,56±2,94 % (P<0,05) dibandingkan P2 dan P3 pada periode kedua dan ketiga (75,50±2,29 dan 72,50±2,34%). Konsentrasi spermatozoa P2 dan P3 periode kedua dan ketiga menunjukkan rata-rata  >1.350 juta/ml berbeda nyata (P<0,05) daripada P1 (876±152juta/ml), sedangkan total spermatozoa motil menunjukkan nilai tertinggi 5.647±829 juta/ml pada P3 periode kedua.Viabilitas spermatozoa P2 dan P3 menunjukkan nilai >88-89 % beda nyata (P<0,05) daripada P1 (<84 %) pada periode kedua dan ketiga, sedangkan nilai abnormalitas spermatozoa yang terbaik adalah P2 sebesar 4,30% pada periode kedua dan P3 sebesar 5,33% pada periode ketiga. Disimpulkan pemberian bubuk daun MO dengan dosis 0,1 kg/ekor/hari dapat memperbaiki kuantitas dan kualitas semen (viabilitas dan total spermatozoa motil) sapi pejantan PO.Kata kunci:  kuantitas dan kualitas semen, Moringa oleifera, sapi pejantan ABSTRACTThe research aimed to determine the effect of Moringa oleifera (MO) leaf powder on the quantity and quality of semen of ongole crossbreed. The research method used was a field experiment with a completely randomized design with three treatments giving MO of 0 kg/head/day (P1); 0.05 kg/head/day (P2) and 0.1 kg/head/day (P3). Each treatment consisted of four heads with three periods of observation as replications, namely the first and third periods without MO, and the second period was given MO on P2 and P3. Data analysis used a one-way analysis of variance. The results showed that the volume and pH of semen treated P1, P2, and P3 didn’t different in all observation periods. The second and third period spermatozoa mass motility of P2 and P3 showed that the value of +++ was significantly different (P<0.05) compared to P1 (++); Individual motility of P1 treatment showed the lowest value 60,56±2,94 % (P<0.05) compared to P2 and P3 in the second and third periods (75,50±2,29 and 72,50±2,34%). The second and third periods of P2 and P3 spermatozoa concentrations showed an average of >1,350 million/cc significantly different (P<0.05) than P1 (876±152 million/cc), while the total motile spermatozoa showed the highest value of 5,647±829 million/cc in the second period P3. The spermatozoa viability of P2 and P3 showed values >88-89% significantly different (P<0.05) than P1 (<84%) in the second and third periods, while the best spermatozoa abnormalities were P2 at 4.30% in the second period and P3 at 5.33% in the third period. It was concluded that the giving of MO leaf powder at a dose of 0,1 kg/head/day could improve the quantity and quality of semen (viability and total motile spermatozoa) of Ongole Crossbreed bulls. This study aims to evaluate and analyze the characteristics of the quality of semen, and hatching of Arab chicken eggs and the growth of crosses from chicks. This research was conducted at the Permata Farmer Group business, Wua-wua Village, Wua-wua District Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi for three months. This study uses a Completely Randomized Design which is three treatments and six replications. The parameters measured were semen quality, egg weight, egg index, fertility, DOC weight gain, feed consumption, and feed conversion. The data analysis used is Analysis of Variance. The results of this study indicate that the consequences of crossing three males did not have a significant effect (P> 0.05) on the measured parameters. It can be seen in the research process which gives results that are not much different from the results of the crossing of three different males using the Arabic parent in the initial phase of production.

ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan air jeruk sambal (Citrus microcarpa) pada air minum terhadap penurunan kadar lemak dan taraf lemak daging broiler. Materi yang digunakan adalah ayam umur 1 hari (DOC) strain CP 707 sebanyak 80 ekor yang ditempatkan dalam kandang berukuran (5,5 × 2,5 × 2 m) yang disekat menjadi 20 unit dengan setiap unit percobaan di isi 4 ekor broiler. Pakan yang digunakan adalah pakan komersial (BR10, BR11 dan BR12). Metode yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL), dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan dengan taraf  perlakuan P0  (0% jeruk sambal per 1 L air ), P1 (0,4% jeruk sambal per 1 L air), P2 (0,8% jeruk sambal per 1 L air) dan P3 (1,2% jeruk sambal per 1 L air). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam (ANOVA)  pada taraf  5% dilanjutkan dengan uji beda nyata jujur (BNJ). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perlakuan dapat meningkatkan persentase bobot karkas, penurunan persentase lemak abdominal dan persentase lemak daging broiler. Kesimpulan penambahan air jeruk sambal pada air minum dapat menurunkan lemak daging broiler dengan taraf  pemberian terbaik 0,8%.(The effect of native orange water (Citrus microcarpa) in drink water on broiler meat fat)ABSTRAK. This research aim to determine the effect of native orange (Citrus microcarpa) to drink water on percentage meat fat broiler and the best level for degrade meat fat. The used materials were day old chick (DOC) strain CP707 as many as 80 birds, were placed in cages with size of (5,5 ×2,5×2 m) is partitioned into 20 units an each unit in the experiment with the contents of 4 chickens. Commercial feed was  used, they were  (BR10, BR11 and BR12). Completely randomized design (CRD) was applied, with 4 treatment and 5 replications. The  level of treatments were  P0  (0% native orange for 1 L water), P1 (0,4 native orange for 1 L water), P2 (0,8% native oramge for 1 L water) and P3 (1,2% native orange for 1 L water). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance at level 5% and followed by honesty significant different (HSD).The result showed that there were increasing  percentage of carcass,  abdominal fat and meat fat. As a conclusion,  increment native orange to drink water can degrade broiler meat fat with the best level  at  0,8%.

<p class="MDPI17abstract"><strong>Objective: </strong>The purpose of this research was to find out the rise of spermatozoa motility of Waringin sheep which was given additional amount of PGF2α in commercial semen diluents (Andromed).</p><p class="MDPI17abstract"><strong>Methods: </strong>A total of 3 Waringin sheep aged 2-3 years were used in this study. Semen samples were collected using an artificial vagina and evaluation of the quality of the spermatozoa was carried out macroscopically and microscopically. This study used a unidirectional completely randomized design. After evaluated, semen samples were added with Andromed diluents afterwards divided into three groups treatment, K1; K2; and K3 where each group was then added with physiologic NaCl, 37,5 µg PGF2α, and 75 µg PGF2α. All of the samples were equilibrated in refrigerator for 4 hours and spermatozoa motility was examined, then after the freezing process was carried out and stored for 24 hours, the post thawing spermatozoa motility was examined. The data obtained was analyzed using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and followed by Duncan test.<strong></strong></p><p class="MDPI17abstract"><strong>Results: </strong>The result of the research showed that motility of post equilibration spermatozoa (%) of Waringin sheeps at K1; K2; and K3 were 43,67±1,20; 75,00±4,00; and 82,33 ±3,18 (P&lt;0,05); and motility of post thawing spermatozoa (%) of Waringin sheeps at K1; K2; and K3 were 25,33±1,85; 49,33±3,17; dan 54,00 ±5,50 (P&lt;0,05).<strong></strong></p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>In conclusion that was the rise in motility of prefreezing spermatozoa and motility of post thawing spermatozoa of Waringin sheep which given additional amount of PGF2α on Andromed diluents.

The torch ginger (Etlingera elatior) is a herbaceous plant the flower of which is commonly used in feed to improve the quality of meat. This study was aimed at assessing the effects of giving commercial feed non-carcass portions of local ducks. The study was conducted at the Poultry Farm of Department of Animal Husbandry Djuanda University, Bogor, from June to August 2016. Twenty four 2-week-old male local ducks were used. Completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replicates was used. The treatments consisted of 100% of commercial ration (R0), commercial ration + 2.5% of TGE solution (R1), commercial ration + 5% of TGE solution (R2), and commercial ration + 7.5% of TGE solution (R3). The feeding trial lasted 6 weeks after which the ducks were slaughtered and carcass weight, dressing percentages and carcass parts were measured. The percentage of non-carcass parts including head, neck, shank, liver, heart, gizzard, feathers, blood and intestines were also measured. No significant effect of treatments (P > 0.05) on all parameters measured were found. It was concluded that the inclusion of TGE solution in commercial ration up to 7.5% did not significantly affect the live weight, weight and percentages of non-carcass parts including blood, feathers, head, neck, shank, liver, gizzard, heart, and intestines.

This research was conducted at the Laboratory of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, University of Kanjuruhan Malang, which began in March until May 2019. The purpose of this study was to study the quality of semen of Kampung Ayam Arabian funds with long stored Arabs that produce in spaces. In this study, the material used was cement of Kampung chickens and Arabic chickens which were requested from two male chickens and 2 male Arab chickens needed 1.5-2 years that had a body weight of ± 2.5 kg and each tail was accommodated 1 time per day and in one shelter done 1 ejaculation. The laboratory test method uses a completely randomized design (factorial). The research treatment is storing time 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 hours. Each payment is repeated ten times. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance. The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of shelf life on the quality of spermatozoa. After 4 hours motility is not feasible for IB, after 4 hours the viability is not feasible for all, after 4 hours the abnormality is not feasible for all.

Minuman herbal cabe jamu cair merupakan inovasi produk baru yang masih perlu dikaji tentang metode pengawetannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan konsentrasi natrium benzoat dan suhu penyimpanan terhadap mutu minuman herbal cabe jamu cair. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 2 faktor yaitu pengaruh konsentrasi natrium benzoat (0 ppm, 200 ppm, 300 ppm) dan suhu penyimpanan (35 dan 45 °C). Hasil analysis of variance menunjukkan konsentrasi natrium benzoat berpengaruh nyata (P kurang dari 0,05) terhadap total padatan terlarut (TPT), warna dan total mikroba. Suhu penyimpanan berpengaruh nyata (Pkurang dari 0,05) terhadap total padatan terlarut (TPT), warna, dan total mikroba. This research aims to determine the effect of sodium benzoate addition and storage temperature on quality of piper retrofractum vahl liquid herbal drink. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 2 factors, namely the effect of sodium benzoate concentration (0 ppm, 200 ppm, 300 ppm) and storage temperature (35°C and 45°C). The results analysis of variance shows that the concentration of sodium benzoate has a significant effect (P less than 0.05) on total dissolved solids (TDS), color and total microbes. Storage temperature has a significant effect (P less than 0.05) on total dissolved solids (TDS), color and total microbes. Abstract Freshwater culture commodity such as sangkuriang catfish (Clarias sp.) has high sufficient demand. One way to fullfil necessity of sangkuriang catfis demand is accelerate the growth. The aim of this research is to determine the present effect of different probiotics on commercial feed towards growth and feed efficiency of sangkuriang catfish. The research using experimental method, using Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Sangkuriang catfish kept in 30 days with four treatments and five replications, that is P1 (control), P2 (5% probiotics A), P3 (5% probiotics B), and P4 (5% probiotics C). The obtained data were processed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and followed by Duncan Multiple Range Test if there was significant data. The result showed that different probiotics giving significant effect to growth rate and feed efficiency (p<0,05). The best sangkuriang catfish (Clarias sp.) growth rate is P2 treatment 2,88% ± 0,38, and the lowest is P1 treatment at 1,73% ± 0,7. The best feed efficiency is P2 treatment at 54,69% ± 9,67 and the lowest is P1 treatment at 30,27% ± 12,65

THE EFFECT OF MARINATING TIME USING CUKA SAGUER ON PHYSICAL QUALITY INCREASING OF ENTOK MEAT (Chairina Moschata). This study aims to determine of physical quality of entok meat after marinating with cuka saguer. Cuka saguer using to soak meat in this research was obtained from fermentated yield of fluid from enau tree. The marinated meat in this research was entok meat. This experiment was arranged in a completely randomized design consisted of five treatments as followed R0 entok meat was without marinated , R1 entok meat was marinated for 20 minutes, R2 entok meat was marinated for 40 minutes, R3 entok meat was marinated for 60 minutes, R4 entok meat was marinated for 80 minutes and each treatment was conducted four times replication. If occur significant in analysis of variance so the average comparing was followed by DMRT test. The result showed The marinated entok meat using cuka saguer was significantly on pH and water holding capacity (WHC), while texture of meat no significant. In conclusion, the soaking time for 20 minutes with cuka saguer can be used to soak entok meat because able to maintain texture of meat and to increase WHC at the condition of pH normal.   Keywords: entok meat, cuka saguer, physical quality of meat
