The research addresses the need to assess the degree of professional burnout of teachers of higher education institutions of Ukraine and to analyse connection between the level of teachers’ professional burnout and their organizational-professional (type of education, teaching experience) and socio-demographic (age, gender, marital status) characteristics. The article presents results of comparative analysis of major scientific approaches to the content of professional burnout: result of occupational stress; psychological defence mechanism; type of professional deformation of a personality; professional crisis and clinical disorder. The authors’ Questionnaire was employed as the main method of the study. The level of teachers’ professional burnout was explored via “Burnout Syndrome” in professions of the system “man-man” method by Maslach & Jackson. The study was conducted from 01 to 31 May 2020 and involved 302 faculty members of higher education institutions of Cherkasy region (central Ukraine). The findings signal that more than a third of the surveyed teachers experience a high level of expression of all components of professional burnout. The paper reports that the length of teaching experience has a positive effect on reducing most components of professional burnout; the level of emotional exhaustion decreases with age; women have a lower degree of emotional exhaustion than men. It is revealed that the actual socio-demographic characteristics of teachers (age, gender) have a greater impact on such a component of professional burnout as emotional exhaustion, while organizational and professional characteristics have a greater effect on such components of professional burnout as depersonalization and reduction of personal achievements.

The main aim of the article is to update the research on identifying problems and developing measures to overcome professional burnout through a combination of instruments in the author’s sociological study, taking the staff of one of the domestic enterprises as the material for the research. The aim is also to identify and determine the key symptoms of burnout syndrome. Given the brisk growth of the service sector, it is obvious that it naturally affects the increase in the number of «man-man» professions, which are among the most vulnerable ones as for the burnout probability. That is why diagnosis of such problems has been performed at a restaurant from a popular chain in Ukraine. The key objectives of this study are the following: to determine the structure of the company’s staff by estimating the burnout level; to compare negative factors influencing the restaurant employees’ work; to assess the impact of working conditions on burnout; to find out the respondents’ attitude to work; to compare the respondents’ assessments of the components of the «Individuality» factor. The study has resulted in identifying the following problems: employees’ improper attitude to work; long working hours leading to overwork; conflicting clients; inadequate rest conditions for employees. Besides diagnosing these problems, the article also suggests measures to overcome them, naming some projected indicators of reducing the effects of employees’ burnout at the enterprise under study and the corresponding costs for taking these measures

This study investigated about burnout syndrome, working condition and teachers’ productivity among Adventist secondary schools in North Eastern Tanzania through survey research design. Data analysis involved descriptive and inferential statistics in terms of mean scores, t-test and Pearson Correlational Coefficient. The study concluded that there is no significant difference in burnout syndrome by teachers categorized according to their gender and marital status. Secondly, teachers perceived their working conditions to be ideal for greater productivity. They also considered themselves to be hardworking.  Finally, there is a significant positive correlation between working condition and teachers’ productivity. Therefore, it is recommended that school administration should strive to control the experienced physical tiredness by teachers at their work place as this is potential sign for teachers’ burnout which if not controlled may affect teachers’ productivity. Since teachers considered themselves to be hard working, there is need for school administration to establish a mechanism to appraise teachers’ effort. Since working conditions are positively correlated with teachers’ productivity, there is need for school administrations to ensure improved working conditions as such can increase productivity of teachers and as a result, greater academic productivity will be realized.

Education for health and sustainability has to be understood from a new perspective beyond the traditional conceptual limits. Thus, following the lines of the 2030 sustainable development goals, we examine how permanent education and adult education can become a fundamental element for the achievement of said objectives, serving as a neutraliser of psychosocial risk factors. In other words, a quality education throughout life becomes a dynamic factor for the development of lifestyle habits and healthy aging, purposes that during the pandemic and the state of alarm have been altered by confinement, closure of educational centres, and methodological changes. The objective of the study is to analyse whether the maintenance of educational activity has influenced the psychological state of people, reducing, neutralising, or increasing the psychosocial risk factors linked to confinement and the evolution of COVID-19. For this, an observational study was developed, taking as a case the Universidad Popular Dos Hermanas (Seville, Spain), with a sample of 384 learners over the age of 16 years. The variables considered were sociodemographic means and technical tools, assessment of the institution, teacher assessment, and psychosocial variables related to possible effects caused by the context. The data were collected through a self-developed questionnaire. Descriptive analyses and bivariate correlations were carried out. Methodological diversity and positive correlations were shown in terms of the institution’s function, teaching assessment, maintenance of activity, and reduction of psychopathological risks.
