This research is a descriptive study to determine the profile of teaching materials and the ability of pre-service teacher to convey the results of the placement at the University of Puangrimaggalatung (UNIPRIMA) Sengkang in environmental biology subjects. The study's population consisted of undergraduate pre-service teacher in the third semester of the 2016/2017 academic year and lecturer of environmental biology subjects. The sampling technique was carried out by targeted sampling so that 37 subjects were used. Techniques for collecting interviews and observations. The tool, which was used in the form of interview guidelines to find out the profile of the teaching materials used, reported the practice assessment of practice-related reports to determine the ability to communicate the results of laboratory report. The data were analyzed descriptively. Based on the results of the study of teaching materials used in the matter, it needs to be developed/produced again and still needs to be done through the development of research and context teaching materials. The ability of pre-service teacher to communicate the results of the work placement in lab reports is still considered sufficient and needs to be improved again, especially with regard to the accuracy of the analysis of data findings and the relevance of the theory in the analysis of experimental data.

The main purpose of the research was to figure out which was the level of comprehension of the didactic concepts that the students of the Secondary Education Master of the University of Alicante of the academic year 2011/12 had. With this purpose, we have collected the information provided by the answers of 227 students to an ad-hoc-elaborated semi-structured questionnaire whose data have been treated with a quantitative methodology using the SPSS.19 device. The statistic techniques were descriptive, differential and correlational. In this analysis, we take into account the scores obtained by students in variables related to their learning process and their attitudes towards it. The most interesting results prove that the students don’t master the basic didactic concepts in a satisfactory way, there are differences between the levels of comprehension and other variables related to the learning of the concepts and with attitudinal variables of this learning. The research based on these results indicates the need to focus the teaching and learning processes of the Master from a different point of view and combining the strategies which enhance the understanding of these concepts by the students. Key words: concept comprehension, didactic training, pre-service teacher education, Secondary Education Master.

Present study intended to assess the generic competences of higher education students. Self-perceived level of generic competences of the students in the beginning and the end of an academic session was recorded to explore the role of higher education in imparting them the generic competences. All the students entering the University of Sargodha (Pakistan) during 2012, constituted the population of the study. Cluster sampling technique was used to carry out the panel survey. The same cohort of the students was surveyed twice over a period of one academic year. This study adopted a version of the Reflex Project instrument, consisting of 19 competences, to collect data from students of both genders in public-sector universities in Pakistan. Data were collected from 932 students (cluster sampling) studying at 10 (randomly) selected departments. There were 408 male and 525 female students in the study. The students rated themselves on a seven-point scale whose reliability was 0.82. The results indicated that higher education played its role in imparting and promoting the existing set of generic competences from the beginning to the end of the academic session; but the increase in the competence level was noted only to a modest level. Gender differences were found among the students in a few of the generic competences.

University students go to school several times a week, as voluntary supporters, and help teachers not only conduct lessons, but also create self-made teaching materials with newly developed technologies such as multimedia-enabled dot codes and EPUB 3 eBooks with Read-Aloud. The university students-schoolteachers partnership enables the younger students to learn the required subjects with newly educational technologies. For university students, especially those in the pre-service teacher program, such a collaboration is really effective to not only know the class lessons, but also to encourage them to become teachers. The collaborative research works of the university professor with the ICT business companies are crucial to produce newly creative and gifted software and tools for students with various difficulties. This chapter briefly presents newly developed software and tools used for class lessons, and then it describes fruitful collaboration with schoolteachers in creating self-made teaching materials and conducting activities.

This research aimed to examine the meanings attributed to the concept of studying in line with the opinions of university students. As one of the qualitative research methods, phenomenology design was used. Convenience sampling technique was used to determine the study group. 353 senior university students, studying at Inonu University in the 2020-2021 academic year, were included in the study. Data were obtained with a form containing an explanation about the research and metaphor that was sent to the students electronically. The content analysis technique was used in the deciphering of the data obtained in the study. Results showed that the university students produced 191 different metaphors about the concept of lesson studying. When the metaphors created by university students were categorized thematically, 14 different categories were identified. In terms of frequency, metaphor concepts are grouped under categories such as being painful, enlightening the future, being a basic need, being dependent on labor, being instructive, addictive, obtaining a product, being a task, entertaining, being the key to success, being comforting, beneficial, being continuous and valuable. It was found that almost twenty-five percent of university students perceive studying as torment and torture. At the end of the research, suggestions were made on the subject in line with the findings.

After the declared state of emergency in Bulgaria and in the world due to the Covid19 pandemic, the last two months of the summer semester of the 2019/2020 academic year, the students from NSA “Vassil Levski” and VTU “St. Cyril and St. Methodius” continued their education in remote form in the learning platforms of the two universities, where adapted teaching materials were provided. The aim of the study is to study and compare the opinion of students from NSA and VTU regarding distance learning in basketball at both universities. Research methodology: in the platforms for distance learning the students from NSA and VTU were provided with a questionnaire of 12 questions. The questionnaire is anonymous and was filled in at will by 197 students (106 students from NSA, studying for a bachelor‘s degree and 91 students from VTU, studying for a master‘s degree). To achieve the set goal and tasks of the research, the following methods have been applied: a review study of the specialized literature and a survey. Statistical methods: the results were processed with SPSS 23, using frequency analysis by one-dimensional and two-dimensional frequency distribution, and comparison of the distribution of signs with Pearson‘s χ 2 criterion. Results: The answers of the students in the survey show that everyone regularly enters the platforms, as this is 80.2% of VTU and 78.3% of NSA. Students from both universities find their way easily with the materials in the platforms, 90.1% of VTU and 70.8% of NSA approve the way the teaching materials are presented. 72.6% of NSA and 67% of VTU share that they prefer basketball classes to be held in the hall. With regard to the university factor, statistically significant differences were observed in the answers to nine questions. With regard to the gender factor, statistically significant differences were observed in only two responses. Conclusion: students from both universities prefer basketball classes to be held in a gym, but they want the training to continue in the distance learning platform. The asynchronous form of distance learning is unacceptable for students (60.4% of NSA and 70.1% of VTU).

Students' understanding of the material and students' interest in learning can be improved in various ways, one of which is using teaching materials in the form of comics. Students tend to like things that match their preferences, including the teaching materials used in learning. This study aims to determine students' preferences for the types of comics developed as teaching materials for animal tissue material for 11th grade Senior High School. The descriptive quantitative approach is the method used in this study with all students of class 11th grade MIPA SMAN 1 Padang Panjang. The sample was randomly selected as much as 10% of the students in each class using the probability sampling-random sampling technique. The instruments used to collect research data are interview sheets by teachers and needs analysis questionnaires by students. The needs analysis questionnaire, curriculum analysis, analysis of teaching materials and analysis of students are carried out. This study indicates that students need alternative teaching materials in the form of comics and are familiar and tend to like Japanese-style comics or manga comics.
