NIACIN SOLUTIONS AND CUTTINGS WITH DIFFERENT NUMBERS OF BUDS FOR PROPAGATION OF BLACKBERRY ABSTRACT:The propagation of this species is usually carried out in an asexual manner by cuttings, so the generation of information to improve this technique is fundamental. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the feasibility of the use of woody cuts, with three or four axillary buds and treatment with niacin solutions for the vegetative reproduction of blackberry. The experimental design was completely randomized, with four replicates, with a factorial of 2 x 5, corresponding to the number of axillary buds (three and four buds) and five concentrations of niacin (0, 100, 200, 300 and 400 mg L-1). After 100 days, the survival rate, the percentage of rooted cuttings, the number of shoots per live cuttings, the number of leaves per shoot, the number of roots per live cutting and the length of the largest root were evaluated. Cuttings with four buds significantly increased survival and rooting rates, while cuttings with three buds favored root elongation. The use of solutions of niacin increased the number of shoots in cuttings with three axillary buds in 63% and the number of leaves per shoot, root number and root length in 79.1%, 156.8% and 46.9%, respectively. Keywords: Rubus fruticosus L., vitamin B6, assexual reproduction, nutricional reserves, plant hormone. DOI:

penurunan kualitas selama transportasi.
Agustus 2004. Percobaan disusun dalam rancangan petak terbagi (RPT)
dengan 3 ulangan. Petak utama (main plot) adalah 2 jenis setek nilam
yaitu: (1) setek berdaun dan (2) setek tidak berdaun. Anak petak (sub plot)
adalah lama penyimpanan setek yaitu: (1) setek langsung ditanam
(kontrol), (2) setek disimpan 1 hari, (3) setek disimpan 3 hari, (4)setek
disimpan 5 hari dan, (5) setek disimpan 7 hari. Pengamatan dilakukan
sejak tanaman berumur 2 minggu sampai tanaman berumur 8 minggu.
berdaun.
Kata kunci : Nilam, Pogostemon cablin Benth, bibit, setek berakar,
penyimpanan, pertumbuhan, Jawa Barat
ABSTRACT
Effect of storage periods of rooted cutting on the growth
of patchouli (Pogostemon cablin Benth)
Providing high quality of patchouli (Pogostemon cablin Benth)
seedlings is necessary to support the development of patchouli plants. In
the new developing area transportation become serious problems (high
cost transportation), therefore some alternative solution is reducing the
transportation cost without reducing the quality of the seedlings. Base on
the problems, this experiment was conducted. The objective of this
experiment was to study the effect of storage periods of rooted cuttings on
the growth of patchouli plant. The experiment was conducted in the green
house of Indonesian Spice and Medicinal Crops Research Institute
(ISMECRI), from April to August 2004. The experiment was arranged in
a split-plot design with 3 replications. The main plot was 2 kinds of cutting
there were: (1) leaf cutting and (2) non leaf cutting. The sub plot was 5
different storage periods, there were: (1) control (no storage), (2)1 day
storage, (3) 3 day storage, (4) 5 day storage, (5) 7 day storage. The
variables observed were plant growth (plant height, number of leaves and
number of shoots), dry weight of stems, leaves and roots. The results of
experiment indicated that after 7 day storage, rooted cuttings of patchouli
were still 100% viable. The growth of patchouli from leaf cutting was
significantly different from non leaf cutting. Patchouli plant from leaf
cutting produced higher plant height, number of leaves, number of shoots
and dry weight of plants compared to those of patchouli plants from non
leaf cuttings. Storage period significantly affected the height of plants
however it did not significantly affected the number of leaves, number of
shoots and dry weight of plants.
Key words: Pacthouli, Pogostemon cablin, seedlings, rooted cutting,
storage, growth, West JavE

The study discloses the scopes of clonal propagation Swietenia macrophylla through branch cutting treated with IBA. A total of four hundred cuttings were used with four replications to assess the rooting ability. The study exposed significant (p<0.5) difference of rooted cuttings among the treatments. The highest (62.51%) rooting percent was observed in cutting with 0.4% IBA treatment. In addition, root number and its length per cutting were increased with increasing IBA concentration (p<0.5). The experiment showed significant (p<0.5) difference of sprouting among the treatments. The highest (67.27%) percent of sprouting was observed in cuttings with 0.4% solution, which showed a similar fashion of percent of rooting. The study also showed significant (p<0.5) difference of shoot number per cutting, the length of the longest shoot, and number of leaves per cutting among the treatments. The overall survival of rooted cuttings after transfer to polybag significantly (p<0.5) differed among the cuttings treated with different IBA solution. The highest survival percentage (69.67%) was observed in the cuttings rooted with 0.4% IBA treatment and the lowest (55.6%) survival was found in cuttings treated with control. The use of 0.4% IBA treatment is suggested for rooting of juvenile leafy branch cutting of S. macrophylla.

Sweet leaf (Sauropus androgynus (L.) Merr.), a leaf vegetable that is generally propagated vegetatively with cuttings. This study aims to determine the effect of accession and administration of natural and synthetic auxin growth regulators on the growth of sweet leaf cuttings. This study uses factorial Randomized Complete Design consisting of two factors, namely accession (Banten from Pandeglang, Bogor from Tajur, and Cianjur from Cugenang) and auksin combination (IBA 100%R, urine 25%R + IBA 75%R, urine 50%R + IBA 50%R, urine 75%R + IBA 25%R, and urine 100%R). The results showed that the growth of Cianjur accession had the best results on the percentage of growth cuttings, the percentage of shoot buds, shoot height, number of shoots, number of leaves, percentage of rooted cuttings, and number of roots compared to Banten and Bogor accessions. Giving urine 100%R significantly increases plant height, shoot height, number of shoots, and number of sweet leaf plant roots compared with other auxin combinations. The combination treatment of auxin and accession showed results that were not significantly different from the variable root length and weight of the harvest. In sweet leaf plants, cow urine can replace the use of IBA (Indole Butyric Acid). Keywords: Sauropus androgynus, vegetative, urine, IBA

Abstract Tissue culture techniques can increase the number of garlic seedlings. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of NAA and coconut water in increasing the number of garlic seeds. This research used a Completely Randomized Design of two factors. The treatment used is NAA with concentrations of 0 ppm, 0.5 ppm, 1 ppm, 1.5 ppm, and coconut water concentrations of 0%, 10%, 20%. The variables observed were shoot emergence time, root emergence time, number of shoots, number of roots, number of leaves, shoot height, root length, and number of plantlets. The results showed that the addition of coconut water 20% without the addition of NAA in 1 bulb can produce 3.33 planlets and the results of explant propagation in 1 bulb can produce the number of shoots as many as 15.33 shoots. Giving coconut water with concentrations of 10% and 20% can increase the number of leaves, shoot height, and some planlets. The concentration of NAA 0.5 ppm can accelerate the root emergence time on garlic explant.
