AbstractCharacteristic of Notarial as an esoteric science brings consequence which makes this science cannot be taught to person who does not possess knowledge within this field.  In order to produce high quality candidates of notary public, Some University as educational agency of notarial science provides structural position for notarial practitioner to become lecturer in Notarial Master Program at the University. This approach is conducted to adjust between learning curriculum of notarial science and learning outcome of the graduates as notary public. But this approach is obstructed with rules that are enacted in Regulation of Notary Public (Undang-Undang Jabatan Notaris) which prohibit notary public to hold double positions as lecturer coupled with practitioner. Keywords: Notary Public, Double Positions, Structural Position.

The article justifies for the need to identify and to keep track, in practice, of different groups of risks inherent in educational institutions under current conditions of pandemic and post-pandemic transformation of education under the influence of modern world uncertainty. Transformation of education functions in the epoch of digital economy changes the content and types of risks concomitant to the activities carried out by schools. Schools belong to the most conservative types of organizations. However, the environment in which schools operate is constantly changing. An educational institution, as any enterprise, has to engage in the activity aimed at risk management. Manifestation of the risk is, on the one hand, fraught with threats and damage, on the other hand, with opportunities. Assessment of possible threats and risks allows timely projection of undesirable results, creation of a system for situational response to unforeseen circumstances and, in the final analysis, formulation of a strategy for development of the university which would allow achievement of modern high quality education, its fundamentality and conformity to important topical requirements of the personality, society and state. Causes of developing risks characteristic of educational institutions are disclosed. External and internal risks characteristic of educational institutions, sources generating them and the importance of managing them are analyzed. The analysis of risks made reveals multi-varied threats and opportunities in the external and internal envi-ronment of the institution and their ability to have a significant effect on educational, organizational and financial activities of the schools.

Charles Carter was appointed Lecturer in Statistics at Cambridge in 1945, and in 1947 became a Fellow of Emmanuel College. He wrote many papers in his six years at Cambridge on a range of post-war economic problems. In 1959 He became Stanley Jevons Professor of Political Economy and Cobden Lecturer at the Victoria University of Manchester. In 1962 the University Grants Committee had appointed a Planning Board to establish the University of Lancaster, with Sir Noel Hall, Principal of Brasenose College, Oxford, as Chairman. The Board made its plans for the nature of the University and its buildings on a greenfields site, and then sought a Vice-Chancellor. Charles Carter was the Board's choice. He soon proved himself to be a superb administrator. When grants for residential buildings were less than expected he borrowed the necessary funds, and had buildings designed suitable for letting to visitors during student vacations. He attracted academic and research staff of high quality, and he was influential in providing for more students choice in the nature of their degree studies.

The University of Texas (UT) System has been meeting educational needs of students for over 150 years. In 1997, the UT System initiated the development of the UT TeleCampus, a centralized facilitation point for distance learning. The TeleCampus opened its virtual doors in May 1998, focused entirely on support services for students. By late 1998, the TeleCampus had begun developing what would become collaborative benchmark online programs for the UT System. As a result of having developed over 12 complete online degree programs since that time, many lessons have been learned about (1) barriers to collaboration and how to overcome them; (2) faculty development and interaction; and (3) the commitment required to build successful online programs. This article describes the UT TeleCampus initiative and how it has grown from a services-only organization to a nationally recognized model for delivering high quality distance education.

In this chapter, the ERP education program at the Department of Information Business of the Vienna University of Economics and BA is described. Especially emphasized is the embedding into the study programs both at the department and university-level. Due to a major change in the degree programs offered by the university, including the introduction of a completely new information systems bachelor and master program, changes to the ERP education program became necessary and are described. We also report several quantitative data on the lectures both before and after the changes, including satisfaction measures. From this, we try to condense some lessons for other institutions who are planning to introduce ERP into their curricula.

The use of organic refrigerants or supercritical CO2 (sCO2) as a working fluid in closed loop power cycles has the potential to revolutionise power generation. Thermodynamic cycle efficiency can be improved by selecting bespoke working fluids that best suit a given combination of heat source and heat sink temperatures, but thermal efficiency can be maximised by pairing this with a custom made turbine. This work describes the development and design of a new 100kW thermal laboratory-scale test loop at the University of Queensland. The loop has capabilities for characterising both simple and recuperated refrigerant and sCO2 organic Rankine cycles in relation to overall cycle performance and for the experimental characterisation of radial inflow turbines. The aim of this facility is to generate high quality validation data and to gain new insight into overall loop performance, control operation, and loss mechanisms that prevail in all loop components, including radial turbines when operating with supercritical fluids. The paper describes the current test loop and provides details on the available test modes: an organic Rankine cycle mode, a closed loop Brayton cycle mode, and heat exchanger test mode and their respective operating ranges. The bespoke control and data acquisition system has been designed to ensure safe loop operation and shut down and to provide high quality measurement of signals from more than 60 sensors within the loop and test turbine. For each measurement, details of the uncertainty quantification in accordance with ASME standards are provided, ensuring data quality. Data from the commissioning of the facility is provided in this paper. This data confirms controlled operation of the loop and the ability to conduct both cycle characterisation tests and turbomachinery tests.

George, Kallie. The Melancholic Mermaid. Illus. Abigail Halpin. Vancouver: Simply Read Books, 2010. Print. Upon reading a plot summary of Kallie George’s The Melancholic Mermaid, you might first wonder if you’ve read the book before. Humans befriending mermaids, outsiders uniting, and children learning that their differences make them special are all plots that have been told and retold in a variety of mediums. It will be no surprise to readers that, though Maude the two-tailed mermaid has twice the speed, twice the strength, and twice the grace, these same qualities isolate her from the other mer-children. Similarly, when two-legged Tony’s webbed hands are revealed, an unlikely friendship with Maude is inevitable. However, while the plot and themes rarely venture outside established cliché, there are two aspects of The Melancholic Mermaid that not only make it well worth the read but push it over and above similar fare. Firstly, George’s poetic rhythms perfectly capture the lulling melancholy of the seashore. At times, she dances the line between poetry and prose, evoking the rolling tides of a calm day at the beach. Of particular note is her command of alliteration, which when well-executed, rarely fails to captivate children and draw them into a fairy tale world. Secondly, Abigail Halpin’s illustrations are positively breathtaking. Her use of colour, space, and contrast are all wonderful to behold and do a remarkable job of highlighting the settings and mood of George’s story. While the scenes on land are depicted in vibrant purples and reds, the seashore is dominated by calm and subtle shades of blue and green. If you are the type to choose a book by its cover, The Melancholic Mermaid should most certainly be a popular choice. The high quality of the illustrations make The Melancholic Mermaid a great book for beginning readers to grow into, and it will be ideally suited for children transitioning from picture books into shorter chapter books. While the story features both male and female protagonists, it will most likely hold a broader appeal for girls than for boys.
