The development of herbarium based on local wisdom as a learning media for the subject of plant structure and development, especially traditional food, is still very rare. This is very unfortunate because local wisdom contains pedagogical values that play an important role in improving the quality of learning. This study aims to determine the feasibility of the herbarium developed according to the validation results of the instructional media expert and herbarium expert. The development model used is ADDIE and the stages carried out in this research are up to the development stage. The results showed that the herbarium based on local wisdom developed was suitable as a learning media for the subject of plant structure and development, with an average score of the validation results of the two validators was 81,25. Both validators suggest using plant specimens that display complete organs, consisting of roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruits, and seeds in making herbariums. Keywords: Local wisdom, herbarium, learning media

One kind of efforts to improve the quality of the ability to argue was applying the model of guided inquiry. This study was aimed to develop inquiry-based learning tools (PPBIT) and analyzed its effectiveness in developing the ability to argue of students at SMAN 2 Taliwang-West Sumbawa. PPBIT was carried out by applying 4D procedure. Then, pretest posttest control group design also completely concerned in determining the effectiveness of PPBIT. There were 66 students as the sample which was scattered from two classes and was selected by using purposive sampling technique. The results showed that PPBIT was appropriately to be used for students argumentation  skills’ activities by an average of feasibility syllabus 78.71%, RPP 83.5, LKITS 75%, and Instruments KB 80.25%, and effective in improving the ability to argue the class X SMAN 2 Taliwang, particularly on the subject of environmental pollution and recycling of waste by the average score of the students' ability from 48.22 up to 85.08Keyword: PPBIT, Argument

The article deals with the issue of improving the quality of learning a foreign language, namely the ways to eliminate the problems that occur during teaching the subject in distance learning mode. By means of the Ishikawa diagram the basic groups of factors that affect the quality of learning a foreign language specifically in distance learning mode are figured out. After that the factors that cannot be affected directly by a teacher are excluded from consideration. The remaining factors are carefully considered in order to find which one of them is the best in terms of neutralizing the stated problem. A number of modern methods of teaching foreign languages is analyzed; as the result, a range of indicative tasks for qualitative control of learning a foreign language is proposed, with basic features of distance learning taken into account. In conclusion it is pointed out that the proposed tasks can be used by the university tutors to enhance the quality of control of learning a foreign language in distance learning mode.

The method of learning becomes one of the factors that is very influential, especially for students' academic achievement. Nowadays students are required to be more active in expanding the knowledge they not only get from teaching and learning activities in school, but they can also add knowledge such as from a learning application that they can learn by themselves to hone their understanding of subjects. In the subject of Natural Science (IPA), often the methods or methods used by teachers in teaching are still many that are difficult to understand by the students, the existing learning media less interest of students to study harder, and students sometimes consider easy subjects IPA. Learning Media in High School (SMA) visually displayed in the form of applications that can be accessed with Android-based phones is expected to improve the quality of learning, especially in science subjects.
