Relevance. Inflammation of the socket of the removed tooth is one of the most frequent complications (from 3 to 40%) of the tooth extraction operation. The lack of consensus on the causes of alveolitis and the lack of an established key role of one of the many diverse factors in the pathogenesis of its development make it difficult to carry out effective preventive measures to prevent its development. Objective: To use the literature data to summarize and systematize a variety of views on the etiology, pathogenesis, methods of prevention, and treatment of alveolitis. Materials and methods. The available literary scientific sources are analyzed where modern views on the problems of treating alveolitis are examined. Modern approaches to understanding the etiology, pathogenesis, prevention, and treatment of alveolitis are generalized and systematized. Results.  Most authors, analyzing the main causes and accompanying factors of alveolitis, suggest for its prevention: reduce the traumatic nature of the operation, observe aseptic and correct appointments in the postoperative period, and optimize the healing processes of the well using locally diverse medications. Conclusion. The prevention of inflammatory complications after the tooth extraction operation is mainly based on the desire to ensure the formation in the tooth socket of a stable blood clot, which should ensure normal regeneration of damaged tissues.

Background. Worldwide, periodontitis has the highest prevalence among the oral diseases. New medications are needed to repair the damage brought by periodontitis. Previous studies have been done to investigate agents such as antioxidants and platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) in oxidative stress. These studies focused on the role of antioxidants in periodontitis and other related systemic conditions. The aim of this study was to determine if antioxidants in combination with bone graft and PRF can increase the number of osteoblasts for new bone growth. Methods. Twenty-seven (27) Wistar rats were randomly allocated into 3 groups. In the first group, the postextraction tooth socket was filled with blood (control). In the second group, the socket was filled with antioxidants and bone graft. In the third group, the socket was filled with antioxidants, bone graft, and PRF. On day 14, the rats were euthanized and the tissue fixations were stained with hematoxylin-eosin (HE) for histologic examination of the osteoblasts. One-way ANOVA was used as statistical test.Results. Statistical test showed that there were significant differences in the number of osteoblasts in all the 3 groups (p=0.000). Conclusion. The number of osteoblasts was significantly increased in the post-extraction tooth socket treated with a combination of antioxidants, bone graft, and PRF.

The article presents a comparative analysis of the clinical effectiveness of osteoplastic materials, in particular a preparation based on multipotent mesenchymal stromal cells of adipose tissue and platelet-enriched plasma used to fill bone defects during the socket augmentation after the tooth extraction. The criteria to assess the therapy effectiveness at the stage of the early postoperative period included the intensity of pain and the amount of collateral oedema after surgery. The aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical effectiveness of osteoplastic materials to augment the volume of the alveolar bone during the operation of socket augmentation after the tooth extraction. Setting of this study: Bukovynian State Medical University, Chernivtsi, Ukraine. The study included 85 patients. The procedure of socket augmentation was performed by using "Kolapan - L" (28.57% of individuals, subgroup A), by combinations of MMSK AT + "Kolapan - L" + PRP (46.43% of individuals, subgroup B); the subgroup C included individuals (25.0%) whose wounds after tooth extraction healed by the formation a blood clot. The assessment of postoperative pain was performed by applying the digital rating scale (Numerical Rating Scale, NRS), taking into account the subjective pain in the patients. The subjects underwent visual assessment of the severity of collateral oedema after the tooth extraction surgery. To determine the dynamics of the severity of oedema we used a scoring system. The study demonstrated the patients of the subgroup B, who received the socket augmentation with "Kolapan - L" + MMSC-AT + PRP, experienced no pain at the final stage of postoperative observation (89.31% of cases) that was 1.2 times higher (p1 <0.05) than in the patients of subgroup A (p> 0, 05). At the final postoperative stages, no collateral oedema was seen in 98.47% of the participants of the subgroups B that exceed the number of cases in the subgroup A where the bone defect was augmented by "Kolapan - L", in 1.2 times (p1 <0.05). A comparative analysis of the clinical effectiveness of osteoplastic materials to increase the volume of the alveolar bone in the jaws during the socket augmentation after the extracted tooth convincingly proved the advantage of using the combination of "Kolapan - L" + MMSС - AT + PRP that was also confirmed by signs and symptoms in the postoperative period.

The role of electron microscopy and associated techniques is assured in diagnostic pathology. At the present time, most of the progress has been made on tissues examined by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and correlated with light microscopy (LM) and by cytochemistry using both plastic and paraffin-embedded materials. As mentioned elsewhere in this symposium, this has revolutionized many fields of pathology including diagnostic, anatomic and clinical pathology. It began with the kidney; however, it has now been extended to most other organ systems and to tumor diagnosis in general. The results of the past few years tend to indicate the future directions and needs of this expanding field. Now, in addition to routine EM, pathologists have access to the many newly developed methods and instruments mentioned below which should aid considerably not only in diagnostic pathology but in investigative pathology as well.

John Cranko's dramatic and theatrically powerful Antigone (1959) disappeared from the ballet repertory in 1966 and this essay calls for a reappraisal and restaging of the work for 21st century audiences. Created in a post-World War II environment, and in the wake of appearances in London by the Martha Graham Company and Jerome Robbins’ Ballets USA, I point to American influences in Cranko's choreography. However, the discussion of the Greek-themed Antigone involves detailed consideration of the relationship between the ballet and the ancient dramas which inspired it, especially as the programme notes accompanying performances emphasised its Sophoclean source but failed to recognise that Cranko mainly based his ballet on an early play by Jean Racine. As Antigone derives from tragic drama, the essay investigates catharsis, one of the many principles that Aristotle delineated in the Poetics. This well-known effect is produced by Greek tragedies but the critics of the era complained about its lack in Cranko's ballet – views which I challenge. There is also an investigation of the role of Antigone, both in the play and in the ballet, and since Cranko created the role for Svetlana Beriosova, I reflect on memories of Beriosova's interpretation supported by more recent viewings of Edmée Wood's 1959 film.

The Many Voices of Lydia Davis shows how translation, rewriting and intertextuality are central to the work of Lydia Davis, a major American writer, translator and essayist. Winner of the Man Booker International Prize 2013, Davis writes innovative short stories that question the boundaries of the genre. She is also an important translator of French writers such as Maurice Blanchot, Michel Leiris, Marcel Proust and Gustave Flaubert. Translation and writing go hand-in-hand in Davis’s work. Through a series of readings of Davis’s major translations and her own writing, this book investigates how Davis’s translations and stories relate to each other, finding that they are inextricably interlinked. It explores how Davis uses translation - either as a compositional tool or a plot device - and other instances of rewriting in her stories, demonstrating that translation is central for understanding her prose. Understanding how Davis’s work complicates divisions between translating and other forms of writing highlights the role of translation in literary production, questioning the received perception that translation is less creative than other forms of writing.

This article addresses the increasingly popular approach to Freud and his work which sees him primarily as a literary writer rather than a psychologist, and takes this as the context for an examination of Joyce Crick's recent translation of The Interpretation of Dreams. It claims that translation lies at the heart of psychoanalysis, and that the many interlocking and overlapping implications of the word need to be granted a greater degree of complexity. Those who argue that Freud is really a creative writer are themselves doing a work of translation, and one which fails to pay sufficiently careful attention to the role of translation in writing itself (including the notion of repression itself as a failure to translate). Lesley Chamberlain's The Secret Artist: A Close Reading of Sigmund Freud is taken as an example of the way Freud gets translated into a novelist or an artist, and her claims for his ‘bizarre poems' are criticized. The rest of the article looks closely at Crick's new translation and its claim to be restoring Freud the stylist, an ordinary language Freud, to the English reader. The experience of reading Crick's translation is compared with that of reading Strachey's, rather to the latter's advantage.

Surgery is one of the major treatments for glaucoma; however excessive scarring of created outflow patways affects the long-term outcome. At the present time, scarring processes are not sufficiently studied. Aim. To evaluate the role of matrix metalloproteinase 9 and its inhibitors in scarring after surgical treatment of open-angle glaucoma. Methods. Concentrations of matrix metalloproteinase 9 and tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases 2 and 3 were measured in tear fluid of 37 patients (mean age, 52.8) with active primary open-angle glaucoma in dynamics during the postoperative period to identify possible markers of excessive scarring. Based on the surgery outcome, all patients were divided into two groups, with a favorable outcome (without excessive scarring) and an unfavorable outcome (with excessive scarring) in the created additional outflow pathways for the intraocular fluid in the postoperative period. The control group included 20 subjects aged 50-66 without eye disease or somatic disease at exacerbation stage. Results. Analysis of changes in concentrations of matrix metalloproteinase 9 and its inhibitors in the postoperative period showed their inverse relationship with the surgery outcome. The higher was the metalloproteinase 9 level and the lower the level of tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases 2 and 3 the higher was the probability of unfavorable outcome evident as excessive scarring of the formed additional pathways for tear fluid outflow in the postoperative period. Conclusion. Postoperative monitoring of metalloproteinases and their tissue inhibitors allows to predict early scarring and to develop new treatments both in early and late postoperative periods.

The covid-19 resulted in broad range of spread throughout the world in which India has also became a prey of it and in this situation the means of media is extensively inϑluencing the mentality of the people. Media always played a role of loop between society and sources of information. In this epidemic also media is playing a vital role in shaping the reaction in ϑirst place for both good and ill by providing important facts regarding symptoms of Corona virus, preventive measures against the virus and also how to deal with any suspect of disease to overcome covid-19. On the other hand, there are endless people who spread endless rumours overs social media and are adversely affecting life of people but we always count on media because they provide us with valuable answers to our questions, facts and everything in need. Media always remains on top of the line when it comes to stop the out spread of rumours which are surely dangerous kind of information for society. So on our side we should react fairly and maturely to handle the situation to keep it in the favour of humanity and help government not only to ϑight this pandemic but also the info emic.
