The purpose of the article is a comprehensive analysis of the problem of personality alienation in cyberspace of the information society, aimed at identifying such behavioral aspects of personality that would indicate the presence of traits, qualities, or criteria of Internet addiction or the likelihood of their occurrence. The methodology of the study was general and special methods of studying the issue, the use of which allowed achieving this goal. The set of applied methods made it possible to clarify the logical sequence, the plurality of areas of influence of the information society on the individual, and the further transformation. The main principle was historicism, which involves the consideration of any phenomenon in its self-development under the influence of various factors. The historical-structural method is used to clarify the features of self-identification in the information society. The historical-system method is aimed at analyzing society as a whole and the changes within it caused by transformational processes. Quantitative methods were used to process the results of sociological surveys and questionnaires, as well as to diagnose the process under study. The scientific novelty of the study is the expansion of ideas about the issue of alienation of an individual in the modern information space. Thanks to a sociological study conducted by the authors, it was hypothesized that Internet addiction can occur not only in adolescence but also the middle-aged people can get into the conditions of transformation of their personality. Conclusions. The beginning of the XXI century was marked by the emergence of the phenomenon of complex psychosocial relations between the individual and the information environment that surrounds him. The extraordinary opportunities that a computer gives to a person, on the one hand, open up a boundless field for creativity, and on the other hand, create and consolidate alienation between people, dramatically change basic values, ideals, and evaluations. The transformation of the individual in the modern information society demonstrates the decline of spirituality, the technicalization of life, and the transfer of priorities to the virtual environment. Keywords: information society, virtual reality, cyberspace, problem of alienation, transformation of personality, Internet addiction.

The modern “digitalized” person is predominantly an object of information, to a lesser extent a subject and an agent of information. The digitalization of the individual manifests itself in the expansion of all sorts of rating systems through which the employer controls the employee and social media monitors people’s daily lives. The phenomenon of “digitalized man” brings us back to the idea of dualism: the man of the modern information society is objectively bifurcated into a biopsychic organism, on the one hand, and his “digital replica”, on the other. Niklas Luhmann proved by his way of life the possibility of a paradoxical synthesis between the idea of mechanistic (bureaucratic) functionality and the idea of spontaneous, intuitive insight inherent only in a living person.

The information space affects social processes and forms a new system of values, ideas about a person as a person, its self-expression and achievement of success in various areas of life. Image becomes an expression of new requirements of public consciousness. Based on the data of a sociological study, it has been identified and analyzed in the article: what value guidelines and qualities make up the image of the most authoritative representatives of modern Russian society, what is the gender composition of these representatives, as well as professional areas and qualities that help women gain a high level of trust and create a positive image in the modern information society. The factors, contributing to the formation of a negative image, have been considered, 329 interviews in 8 federal districts have been conducted. In the course of the interview, the respondents indicated the representatives of the society who, in their opinion, had the most positive image and high level of trust, as  well as the opposite example of a negative image, causing a low rating. Asymmetry in the criteria for evaluating the image of women and men by society, as well as gender imbalance among representatives with high public authority have been revealed. The boundaries of the permissible presence of women at the top of society, determined by the society itself, have been denoted. Professional areas in which women are better able to form a  positive image in the conditions of the modern information society have been noticed. It has been identified, that charity is a valuable component of a positive image of a woman in all professional fields. Traditional gender values continue to be an important component of the image. A high level of presence in the information space can contribute to image building and have negative consequences.

The need for self-education is becoming more common in the information society. Moreover, this form of education becomes a continuous process, since knowledge is an inexhaustible resource. Self-education is a form of individual activity of a person motivated by his own professional and personal needs and interests and aimed at acquiring the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities and improving them. The main feature of this type of activity is the absence of an educational institution and a training person, freedom of choice. With the advent of the information technology age, self-education is becoming increasingly popular. As many researchers note, this trend is due, first, to global changes associated with the transition from a post-industrial to an information society, which assumes the work of a person with information as the leading type of activity. Secondly, for modern market relations, the value of self-education is manifested in the fact that it acts as an instrument of social mobility. Third, self-education becomes one of the priority elements of the lifestyle of a number of social groups, contributing to the change of their place and role in the social structure of society. And, finally, self-education is one of the main factors and indicators of the improvement of the individual, and, consequently, of society. Based on this, self - education acts, on the one hand, as an integral part of self-education, self-improvement of the individual, and on the other-as the main method of continuing education, a means of continuous education. The article presents the results of a study conducted using the Stephenson method, which involved 20 respondents (10m+10j) aged 18 to 35 years. The purpose of the study was to identify the opinions of young people regarding the characteristics of self-education in the information society. Of the 30 statements submitted that reflected these traits, respondents were asked to express their agreement or disagreement with them using a scale from -2 to +2.

Introduction. The article discusses ambiguous attitudes of information society citizens to the use of digital technologies in education. The aim of the research is to reveal and describe the deterministic nature of society and education, to explain the reasons for the ambiguous attitudes towards the use of digital technologies in education, and to analyze and summarize their advantages and capabilities to improve academic outcomes in the context of distance learning. Materials and Methods. By adopting personality-centered, activity-based and environmental approaches, the study considers the individual as a subject of learning and teaching, who can freely choose modes and means of learning, as well as communicative strategies within learning environments. Research methods include analysis of scholarly literature, synthesis of findings, and generalization. Empirical data were collected via a questionnaire and analyzed using statistical data processing methods. The sample consisted of students and teachers. Results. The literature review has been used to characterize and describe the information society in order to reveal its contradictory nature and multi-vector impact on the individual in the educational environment. Changes in the psycho-biological mechanisms of learners belonging to Generation Z are outlined and summarized. The authors emphasize the need for adjusting teaching methods to the peculiarities of modern learners. The study indicates that learners’ attitudes towards digital technologies are determined by their ICT competence. The recommendations on the improvement of instruction in a virtual learning environment are presented. Conclusions. The information society has predetermined the inevitability of the introduction and use of information technologies in the education, which , on the one hand, increases learners’ educational and research capabilities, and, on the other hand, requires a high level of ICT competence as well as major expenditures on such changes. The identified contradictions have led to restrained attitudes to distance (online) learning.

The article is devoted to the peculiarities of using the critical thinking and reflection in the conditions of blurring the boundaries between nano-, bio-, information technology and cognitive sciences. The regularities and interrelation of reflection and critical thinking of the individual in the information society are studied. The article attempts to reveal modern views on the nature of thinking, to analyze the concepts of "reflection" and "critical thinking", to explore the interdependent connections and relationships between them. It is noted that due using the latest technologies, it is necessary to re-evaluate the functions and role of reflection and critical thinking in the modern information environment of human development. The discovery of new properties of brain structures (introduction of the concept of "default network") requires understanding of the laws of its work and taking into account when determining the role, functions and capabilities of reflection and critical thinking. Given the results of recent research, it must be acknowledged thinking critically means understanding we have prejudices that unlike to get rid of. Only by realizing our own bias do we have the opportunity to abandon them and embark on the path of finding alternative solutions of our own.

Of all the fields of political science where quantitative methods have been developed over the past generation, probably the one where scholarly understanding has been most enriched has been that of mass voting behavior. But while we know vastly more about this behavior on the individual and aggregate level than we did a quarter-century ago, there are still large territories on the map which are blank, or in which exploration has only very recently begun. There remain a number of doubtful areas in which issues of methodology and of substantive interpretation are still very much open to systematic inquiry. One such area is that associated with the interrelation of socio-economic correlates of the vote. That is, there is a real question as to whether such independent or predisposing variables should be conceptualized as making mutually independent or, alternatively, interdependent contributions to the prediction of voting patterns. The normal practice in research involving multiple correlation of aggregate voting behavior with a set of independent variables has been to assume implicitly that the relationship of these variables is additive (i.e., non-interactive) and that the appropriate theoretical representation is of the general form y = b + m1x1 + m2x2 … + mnxn. Such an assumption seems plausible so far as individual voting for American major parties and their candidates is concerned. Thus, for example, the authors of the MIT 1960 simulation study found strong evidence that predispositional factors summate, i.e., are indeed additive in character.

The article is devoted to the problem of the formation of personality in the modern information society and the influence of the unconscious person on the surrounding world. The author analyzes the psychoanalytic approach to the consideration of the personality by Z. Freud. The author also considers the conflict between the principle of pleasure and the principle of rationality and its influence on the interaction of personality and society. The author characterizes the psychoanalytic approach  of J.  Frankl.  The problem  of the mutual influence  of personality and society, namely the processes of interiorization and exteriorization, is revealed. The theory of E. Neumann about the influence of the unconscious on the functioning of consciousness is described in the article.E.  Edinger’s scientific work is also analyzed by the author. Parallels between the alchemical processes  of the unconscious person and their  reflection in the behavior and activities of the individual were made. The author analyzes also the modern view on the problem of person and reality in quantum mechanics. In this context, A. Puzikov’s approach is considered. The problem of objective and subjective realities has been raised. The concept of proto-reality is revealed in the article. The influence of the choice of personality from the endless options on the formation of actual reality is explained in the article.

The article is devoted to the research of conceptual problems of legal support of functioning and development of information society and electronic state in the context of today’s realities. In the article the author proceeds from the fact that the information society is not just a society in which the activities of most people are related to the creation, analysis, storage and dissemination of information, using of information networks, information communication channels, etc., and such a society, in which the existence and activity of almost every individual are inseparable from the complex of information technology devices and related segments of the information space, free access to which is possible regardless of specific temporal-and-spatial dimensions, that is, from anywhere and at any time at the request of the individual. According to the author, the most urgent problems of legal regulation of the modern information society are the following: 1. The problem of the optimality of the relation between law and other social regulators in regulating relations functioning in the information society, in particular, finding a balance between legal and moral regulation of relations in the extraterritorial (global) information space. 2. The problem of establishing more relevant relationships between national and international (supranational) law in the process of regulating modern information relations. 3. The problem of correct alignment of priorities in the regulation of social relations in the information society. 4. The problem of transformation of the institution of legal responsibility for offenses and crimes committed through the use of information and telecommunication systems, in particular, the Internet. As a result of the research the author draws the following conclusions: 1. The complexity of ensuring effective legal regulation of relations in the information society is primarily due to the fact that within it individual freedom is gradually becoming an end in itself, which takes on various forms of expression, including those that are harmful to society and contrary to the norms and principles of the traditional morality. Freedom as an end in itself is already practically fully embodied in the virtual component of the information society, which, having a multifaceted relationship with the real social environment, contributes to the fact that within the latter the moral regulation of human relations is increasingly lost, which, among other things, is a necessary prerequisite for respect for the law and its prescriptions, embodied in the legislation, and therefore, for their proper implementation in an appropriate form. The devaluation of the values of traditional morality in the virtual information space has already led to a considerable number of moral-and-law problems at the theoretical and applied levels, as well as to the practical impossibility of solving them only through legal norms. 2. The functioning of the concept of «electronic state» should not completely supersede the traditional in society variants of the relationship between public authorities and individuals and legal entities, the benefits of which have not lost their relevance today. In particular, citizens and legal entities should be left with the right to choose the form of interaction with the authorities (oral, written or electronic), and individual exceptions to it can be established only in relation to specific relationships, the objective specificity of which stipulates the need for their normative fixing. Keywords: information society, electronic state, law, morality, Internet, legal liability, legislation.
