Introduction. The COVID-19 pandemic may have hit the education industry the hardest, but the socio-psychological effects of quarantine are still poorly understood. A group of scientists from the Ukrainian SMC of practical psychology and social work of the NAES of Ukraine has conducted a study of the socio-psychological problems that have arisen for teaching staff of general secondary education establishments in the context of the pandemic. Purpose. The research was carried out during the implementation of the scientific topic «Overcoming the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic in the activities of the psychological service of the educational system» on the order of the National Research Fund of Ukraine. Design\approach\methodology. The study was conducted by interviewing educators through Google forms. Most of the questions contained a 10-step scale. In processing the data, all respondents’ answers were grouped into 5 categories: "yes", "more likely to", "more likely not", "no", "don’t know/it’s hard to say". The survey was attended by 3,209 teaching staff from general secondary education institutions from all regions of Ukraine, 45% from urban areas, 55% from rural areas; among which 92% were women and 8% were men. Results. Among the results, researchers highlighted the difficulties and fears of educators caused by the pandemic. The fears and complexities of the profession were distributed as follows. 1. The fear of getting infected (infecting family members) is common to 78.2% of the surveyed. 40.9% of the interviewed felt this fear to the greatest extent. However, 9.3% found those fears irrelevant. 2. Problems associated with the use of ICT in educational activities (lack of competence) — 53.2%. Among those, 22.2% have major difficulties and 31% have minor difficulties. Only 15.7% consider themselves fully competent. 3. 73% of educators noted difficulties in involving children in distance learning. This was the main problem for 12.8% of respondents. 4. «It is difficult to adhere to all anti-epidemic requirements in an educational institution to protect students» — 69.5% stated that this is one of the most significant problems of professional activity. 5. Emotional exhaustion, loss of emotional balance, excessive fatigue. 58.7% said that the problem was significant, of which almost 18% said it was very significant. 6. 51.1% of respondents indicated that they were unable to communicate with students' parents regarding monitoring the quality of their students' knowledge. Of these, 8.7% rated it with the highest score. 7. Health related difficulties (consequential of COVID-19). 31.2% of educators consider this problem to be relevant, while 8.9% rated it as very relevant. 30.4% of those interviewed denied the existence of such a problem. Conclusions Taking into account the results of the study, the most relevant areas in the work of the psychologists in the educational system are the following: ● prevention among educators and students of the COVID-bullying; ● working with negative emotional states of participants in the educational process and increasing their stress tolerance; ● providing socio-educational assistance to children and families in difficult life situations, and forming positive life prospects. The article substantiates the ways of using educational games to teach financial literacy at level of secondary school in Ukraine. The methodology of conducting original financial games is described in brief and the influence of the latter on shaping a financially literate next generation is proved. The article presents an overview of the «Ponzi Scheme» board game, which was created to provide children with a clear explanation of Ponzi schemes and risks of monetary losses inherent to such illegal means of moneymaking. It is established that in addition to important educational aspects, the children develop a habit of making informed financial decisions in the course of playing. Research has shown that nowadays fraudsters have become so convincing that it is very difficult to distinguish between them from the real employees of financial institutions. The «Financial Fraudsters» board game enables players to learn specific communicative skills necessary to avoid various types of financial fraud, therefore the authors substantiate the methodology of enacting it. The article considers the peculiarities of playing the «Economy is Alive» board game, which is designed to demonstrate the human impact on the environment and the need for conservation of resources. The game makes it possible to master the comprehension of the relationships between objects and phenomena and creates the basis for environmentally conscious upbringing of children by satisfying their curiosity and involving them in active observation of the environment. Approbation of these games has shown that they organically combine the theory that makes learning exciting and the practice that clarifies the knowledge acquired by the educational process participants. In view of the research results, it is determined that under modern conditions edutainment must become a significant supplement to the classical methods of teaching financial literacy within the system of general secondary education in Ukraine.

The article features a methodology for systematization of research on ICT use in secondary education. Making important decisions about improving school education, including through the introduction of certain information and communication technologies into the educational process, is based on the study of relevant experience and relevant research results. The large number of diversified scientific works that make up the theoretical, practical, and methodological basis of the ICT use in school education necessitates the generalization, ordering, and determination of their typological features. The author singles out the following groups of studies related to the ICT use in school: generalizing theoretical-analytical (documentary), empirical and complex. Each of the groups is characterized by a variable set of typological features in terms of scale and independence of their conduct. They allow distinguishing their main types (10 types of research are considered in the article, for example, empirical/international large-scale/contextual studies or complex/local/separate studies, etc.). The author determined the structural and methodological criteria for the analysis of different research types (thematic, targeted, sampling, organizational, methodological, analytical, resultant) and carried out a selective analysis of the studies on the proposed typological features, structural and methodological criteria, the results of which were systematized in the matrix of methodological analysis of different research types on the ICT use in school education. According to the results of the works review, topical thematic areas of the analyzed research were identified, typical methods of data collection and analysis were singled out and the format of results reporting was highlighted for each selected research group. The approach to systematizing research on the use of ICT in secondary education institutions, presented in the proposed article, can be applied during the review of scientific achievements, the analysis of pedagogical research in the field of ICT, or to design individual research. Filling in the proposed analysis matrix will allow it to be further used as a database of relevant research papers, facilitate the search and selection of those that meet the objectives of a specific scientific search.

An integral part of the formation of the New Ukrainian School is an inclusive component, which forms a new philosophy of society based on the understanding of diversity and equality for all. Involvement in education and constant support of children with special educational needs should take place at all stages of receiving complete secondary education, especially in primary school. The paper discusses the features of inclusive foreign language teaching in primary school. Based on the research analysis, pedagogical observation of the educational process in English lessons in inclusive classes, the conclusion is made that it is important for primary school English teachers to use clear and comprehensive instructions before doing exercises and tasks, introduce and maintain the learning routine (greeting, a permanent place for writing homework, questions at the beginning and at the end of the lesson, etc.), change the types of tasks frequently, adapt previously used exercises to the new learning conditions, use scaffolding strategies. The article presents a set of exercises and tasks to use in English lessons when studying the topic “My home” in an inclusive 3rd grade of a general secondary education institution, as well as checklists for self-and peer evaluation of the inclusiveness of the learning environment for English teachers. The exercises and tasks of the set were tested in the 3rd-B grade of Ternopil schools No. 16 and No. 7. The final assessment of the educational achievements of students in English in the second semester of the 2020 / 2021 academic year confirmed the effectiveness and appropriateness of using these exercises and tasks in the English lessons. Checklists for self-and peer evaluation of the inclusiveness of the learning environment were tested and approved by English teachers and recommended for use in the educational process by foreign languages teaching methodology groups.

One of the higher-priority directions concerning improvement of the institution of general secondary education is the adaptation of teachers’ educational, scientific methodological and organizational activities to the modern challenges. The orientation of the new Ukrainian school to the world educational standards calls for new approaches to the organization of the educational process in institutions of general secondary education, the formation of up-to-date effective innovative competence of teacher-practitioners. In order to diagnose the level of formation of teachers’ innovative competence a summative experiment was conducted as a method to obtain and fix theoretical and empirical data. In the course of the research the criteria for innovative competence evaluation were developed, diagnostic tools were selected, diagnostic procedures and the analysis of the obtained results were conducted. A methodological workshop was held for teachers aimed at defining such basic concepts as «innovative pedagogical activity», «competence», «innovative competence» The level of the formation of teachers’ innovative competence was diagnosed taking into account its components, namely: operational (the formation of intellectual abilities, the quickness of mental operations, ability to solve problem situations), professionalvalue (motivation to obtain innovative competences, professional orientation, ability to self-control and urge for constant professional self- improvement, formation of individual style of pedagogical activity, professionally important personal qualities). Having generalized the results of applying various diagnostic methods (the technique «Six Thinking Hats» by Edward de Bono, the technique of studying the value scales by M. Rokeach, the diagnostic test «Readiness for self-development», «Strategies to form a higher level of basic need for cognition» by Palchevsky, «The methodology of limit meanings» by D. In the article, one has experimentally verified the state of practice regarding the use of educational and methodical media by a primary school teacher. One has analyzed the role of educational and methodical media complexes is analyzed, clarified the reasons for the subsisting disadvantages are clarified, revealed the possibilities of an integrative approach to the organization of education in primary school, and the needs of teachers and others. One has admitted that the aspects of the activity that correspond to the educational and methodological media complexes function mostly in an isolated manner. Concerning this approach, certain elements of management in general secondary education establishments cannot ensure a full and effective formation of a holistic system of modern visual aids of student learning. One has conducted a comparative analysis of curricula and programs in sundry disciplines, selective observation of teachers’ activities in the classroom. One has outlined the significance and pedagogical possibilities of educational and methodical media complexes. The scale of continuity levels with the use of conditional names of educational and methodical media complexes is developed: “General concepts and definitions”; “Peculiarities of media for primary school”; “Basic teacher training for media use”; “Special training of primary school teachers for media use” and “Creative use of media complexes”. One has proved that all educational and methodical media complexes should not only interact but obey the logic of continuity, where coordination occurs simultaneously as to a paramount number of diverse parameters (virtual, psychological, gnoseological, sociological, organizational, etc.), the importance of which must be taken into account. The results of the analysis have shown that in some cases one coordinates the aspects of the activity that ensure the functioning of the components that correspond to these educational and methodological media complexes only formally, on the basis of superficial, arbitrary connections. One has confirmed the research of potential opportunities for the implementation of the proposed media complexes in general secondary education establishments due to expert assessments of the perspective implementation in the educational process. One has applied the author’s methods on the example of the subject of Fine Arts for practical implementation and preliminary diagnosis. The carried out analysis of the state of practice has made it possible to conclude about the appropriateness of forming educational and methodological media complexes on the basis of integration, the necessity to model their activities based on scientifically sound approaches, and the development of ways to implement them in the educational process of primary school.

The results of the analysis of recent studies on the creation of educational environment in the institution of general secondary education (classification, typology, structural components) has shown the need for its detailed analysis regarding the consideration of personal orientation. To this time, the state of school practice was studied in terms of the organization of educational interaction between education applicants and the objects of the school educational environment. In particular, such aspects as psychological comfort, focus on maintaining health, taking into account the individual psychological and physiological characteristics of students. As demonstrated by the results of scientific research in institutions of general secondary education, the free choice of pupils from different fields of study, with a conscious choice of objects, methods and types of educational interaction not only in accordance with the inclinations and abilities, but also individual psychological and physiological features, is not fully ensured. Particular attention is paid by the authors of the educational environment towards the creation of psychological comfort for students, primarily with the help of humanization of relations between the participants in the educational process, the strengthening of the ties between school and family, personalization of the school environment, creation of favorable training environment and the structure of the school year, taking into account the volume and distribution of the amount of hours according to the state of health, the initial levels of school readiness, the age range of engagement in learning for a particular contingent of students, their individual psychological and age characteristics, activity periods at certain times of day, week, month, year, etc., as well as active involvement of students into this activity. It is also important to harmonize both internal and external educational and social environment, which is formed at school. This is evidenced by the volume of school-based learning material that remains unclaimed in the life of the education applicants. Prospects for further research on effective organization of educational interaction of students with objects of the school educational environment are also outlined along with the process of harmonization of objective and subjective determinants of its effectiveness.

The aim of research is to ascertain, how Lithuanian comprehensive school students value Lithuanian education system, what its advantages and disadvantages they discern and what recommendations they present for its improvement. The research data were expressed in writing. The received answers of the respondents were coded. The most frequently recurring notional units were grouped until initial groups were found, called sub-categories. In the second stage the sub-categories were combined into categories. The qualitative research data were processed using content analysis, when essential characteristics are distinguished in the information base. The obtained verbal data base, referring to conventional content analysis methods, was analysed in three stages: • Multiple answer reading; • The search of semantically related answers and “key” words; • The interpretations of notional units. To guarantee the reliability of data analysis, the distinction of notional units and subsequent grouping was carried out independently by two researchers. The results of quantitative analysis were analysed and announced earlier (Lamanauskas, Railiene, 2010b). In recent years secondary education stage students feel a considerable amount of stress because of constant changes taking place in educational process. The essential education system advantages in respect of students are these: good preparation of students, acquisition of knowledge, good theoretical preparation, also good preparation for further education; free general education; a possibility to choose subjects according to demands and a wide choice of them. The choice of students’ individual learning plan in the 11th- 12th forms is determined by: intention to study and to acquire a desirable profession, hobbies, having been acquired by students up to 11th form, the desire to know more. Also, the students choose the subjects which they are good at, and reject those which are difficult for them. Students pay rather big attention to teachers’ qualification, learning atmosphere and to material basis available in comprehensive school. The essential disadvantages in respect of students are these: too big learning load and pace at school, students are overloaded with work, expensive education in general, especially higher education, very high fee for studies, poor practical preparation, too much attention for conveyance of information; annual changes, there is no stability, nobody knows what novelties are expecting next year, never-ending reforms. They are especially worried about reconstructions in higher schools as well. In students’ opinion, more attention at school should be paid to the development of students’ creativity. Also, a very important thing is the implementation of the newest technologies into the education process. Key words: Lithuanian education system, quantitative analysis, secondary education stage, students` opinion.
