The purpose of the article is to theoretically substantiate and empirically investigate the psycho-emotional state of students under distance learning in higher education institutions.Methods. A set of research methods are used in order to achieve the goal: a) theoretical – analysis, synthesis, comparison, generalization and systematization of obtained results; b) empirical – observation, conversation, psychodiagnostic techniques: a technique of “Self-assessment of mental states” by H. Eysenck – to determine the indicators of mental states of students (anxiety, frustration, aggression, rigidity); a research technique of emotional intelligence by G. Hall – to determine the indicators and level of development of emotional intelligence in students; test “Pre-examination well-being” (modification of the technique of S.I. Boltivets) – to study the psychological readiness for passing exams and pre-examination well-being of students; c) mathematical and statistical data processing – descriptive statistics (finding the levels and frequency of expression of the trait in percent), linear correlation analysis by Pearson.Results. The study involved 80 students enrolled in 1st–2nd yearof Master’sdegree program at Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University. The age of the respondents is 21–25 years. The study was carried out during 2020–2021.It was found out that under distance learning, a third part of students have a high level of anxiety, frustration, aggression. They experience anxiety, confusion, worrying, disillusion associated with prolonged social isolation, online learning, virtual communication with teachers and peers. More than half of students have an average level of the development of emotional intelligence therefore they are not always able to correctly recognize, understand and deal with emotions. Under distance learning half of the students showed an average level of psychological readiness for the exam and not entirely good pre-examination well-being. They are emotionally tense before the exam, often feel fear, lack of self-confidence in themselves and their knowledge.Conclusions. It was found out that under distance learning psycho-emotional state of students significantly deteriorates. Thereby, teachers need to create favorable conditions for students to study, taking into consideration their individual psychological characteristics, to provide them with psychological support.Key words: mental state, emotional state, emotional intelligence, distance learning, students, higher education institutions.

Background: Among all aspects of nursing care, the spiritual one is the issue that has received little attention. Having spiritual wellbeing (SWB) is a necessity to provide appropriate spiritual care. In addition to, the Emotional intelligence (EI) is one of the most important factors in social and professional success and is essential for effective nursing practice. Therefore, aim of study was evaluating the Relationship between SWB and EI among nursing students. Methods: The sample of this descriptive-analytic study consisted of 136 nursing students studying at Bam University of Medical Sciences selected by convenience sampling method. The Bradberry and Greaves 28-item EI scale, Palutzian and Ellison SWB Scale were used to assess the total score of EI and SWB. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation), Pearson correlation coefficient, independent t-test and one-way ANOVA with SPSS v18. Results: The mean score of SWB and EI were 97.1±11.56 and 123.4 + 123.6, respectively. The mean score dimensions of SWB include (religious wellbeing 47.9±6.6, existential wellbeing 49.1±5.7) and dimensions EI: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management were 27.2 3 3.2, 36.2 2 5.4, 25.1 + 3.5 and 35.1 + 4.5, respectively. The majority of students have reported moderate level SWB and high level of emotional intelligence. The factors influencing their level of SWB were academic semester and age (p<0.05). Conclusion: Although the level of students' EI and SWB were at a desirable level in this study, due to the nature of nursing and the interaction between nurses and patients, providing a suitable learning environment for the development of EI is essential. Therefore, it is suggested that nursing policymakers should develop appropriate educational programs for nurses and provide curriculum for students to promote their knowledge and skills. The article is devoted to the study of student's coping strategies influence on the level of their subjective well-being in conditions of distance learning. It was found that student's coping strategies have an impact on the level of their psychological comfort. Using regression analysis it was revealed that the variability of student's life well-being is determined by the following coping strategies: positive self-esteem; responsibility; planning; escape and self-control. It was developed the typology of students in the conditions of distance education, which includes such indicators of dominant coping strategies: the level of psychological comfort, dominant coping and measure of stress tolerance. According to the certain typology, three types of students were defined: 1) adaptive type (high indicators of well-being, high indicators of tolerance to stress, dominant strategies “self-esteem”, “responsibility” and “planning” ); 2) maladaptive type (low indicators of well-being, low indicators of tolerance to stress, dominant coping “escape”); 3) average adaptive type (average indicators of well-being, average indicators of tolerance to stress; dominant strategies “responsibility”, “self-control”, low indicators of coping “positive self-esteem”). The results of the study indicate that students who are best adapted to distance learning and have a high level of psychological comfort tend to evaluate themselves positively, treat work responsibly, plan their studies and have an average level of self-control.

The article shows the results of a comprehensive study of adolescents in the situation of self-isolation during the Covid 19 pandemic. The coronavirus pandemic as a threat to health and the situation of forced self-isolation, the widespread distance learning have changed the familiar world of a teenager. These changes could provoke a decrease in the level of adolescents’ psychological well-being due to the lack of experience in adapting to such unusual conditions. This problem was the subject of our study. The research sample consisted of 126 teenagers aged 12-14 years. The teenagers are the pupils of secondary schools in Moscow. The research methods included a questionnaire based on the questionnaires ("Understanding the situation of self-isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic", "The attitude of adolescents to forced distance learning"), the test "Scale of subjective well-being" (G. Perue-Badu) translated by M. V. Sokolova, which were conducted via the Google form in June 2020. According to the questionnaire "Understanding the situation of self-isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic", adolescents have showed an average level of understanding of the situation of self-isolation: they agree with the need for a self-isolation regime, but have difficulties to comply with it, note difficulties in understanding themselves and interacting with their environment, and have an increased sense of anxiety. The similar data were obtained with respect to the indicator of subjective well-being, and we found out the average level of the signs accompanying the main psycho emotional symptoms, changes in mood and self-assessment of health. The questionnaire "The attitude of adolescents to forced distance learning" showed a contradiction: adolescents are interested in distance learning, but they do not like the increase in the volume of homework. It is worth mentioning that we noted adolescents’ dissatisfaction with the changed process of communication with a teacher and unwillingness to continue school education remotely. According to the results of the study, we can conclude that the level of adolescents’ psychological well-being has changed, since the mentioned factors did not contribute to its improvement. We understand that in the nearest future the psycho prophylactic work with the adolescents should be the priority task of school psychologists.

The aim of this study was to identify distinctive profiles (clusters) of high-level, young handball players according to their motivation, fear of failure and competitive state anxiety. In addition, we examined differences in the distribution of gender, age, and players’ position within each profile. The study participants were 479 young handball players. The age range was 16–17 years old. Players were administered a battery composed of Sport Motivation Scale, Performance Failure Appraisal Inventory and Competitive State Anxiety Inventory-2R, to measure the above-mentioned theoretical constructs. Results showed three different player profiles that the discriminant analysis with canonical correlations grouped into two functions. Function 1 was characterized by those players with the highest values of motivation and self-confidence, and function 2 included those players with lower self-determined motivation, more amotivation, more fear of failure and the highest levels of anxiety. The results provide relevant information for coaches, as they will help them design individualized training programs that will improve athletes' performance, while ensuring their health and well-being.

Performing music at the highest levels involves great competitiveness. When each performance represents a major personal challenge, success is no longer solely dependent on a high level of technical mastery: the psychological aspects of the performance also have a decisive impact. The concept of flow is presented as a phenomenon associated with significant improvements in the musician’s performance and well-being. This work explores musicians’ positive experiences in performance situations and studies the factors that promote the emergence of flow during competitions. Eleven musicians, both professionals and students, were interviewed to consider ways of promoting the emergence of flow that help them to produce high-quality performances. Our analysis revealed several different factors promoting the emergence of flow: social standing, performance preparation, connection to one’s body, awareness of skills and self-confidence, intrinsic motivation, attentional focus, and transcendence. These findings enhance our understanding of the conditions influencing the emergence of flow. We consider work pathways which might facilitate the emergence of flow experiences and thus help musicians to produce high-quality performances while protecting them from the harmful effects of stress and anxiety.

Under the current conditions, the urgency of the problem of health is conditioned by the realities of life, because in recent times there have been rapid changes in the economic, political and socio-cultural life of the individual and society as a whole. In order for young people to be able to easily adapt to higher education institutions and realize themselves after their graduation, they must be healthy not only physically but also spiritually. That is why the basis of full-fledged personality development is psychological health. It is the psychological health of the individual - the optimal functioning of all mental structures necessary for the current life. It describes the person as a whole, has a relation to the motivational, cognitive and emotional-volitional spheres. The main criteria for psychological health are: adequate perception of the environment, conscious perpetration of deeds, activity, ability to work, purposefulness, ability to establish close contacts, full family life, feelings of affection and responsibility towards relatives, ability to compile and implement their life plan, orientation to self-development, integrity of the individual. In the development of the problem of psychological health should pay attention not only to the mental processes and properties of the psyche (they are more or less studied in psychology), but also on the mental states of a person experienced them in the process of life, taking into account their strength, frequency of repetitions, etc. p. In the context of the study, psychological health is seen as an element of a full-fledged human functioning, based on two levels: structural, content and functional.Structural-content analysis of psychological health reflects the vision of domestic psychologists about the structure of the human psyche, which is considered as an individual-personality, subject-person, individual-subject-personality, individual-personality-individuality, organism-individual-personality. The functional level studied by us in the psychological health of man is an integrative characteristic of human states in terms of efficiency, the activity carried out by him and involved in its implementation of the system according to the criteria of reliability and the internal price of activities. In studying the state of psychological health of modern students and their dynamics in the process of their study, it is necessary to consider the influence of a number of factors, which includes the complex as subjective (depending mainly on the students themselves) and objective (dependent on external circumstances) factors. Therefore, in order to determine the state of psychological health, we proposed the following factors of influence, namely: organization of the educational process, ability to study, social and living conditions, a new group of comrades, material well-being of students, support of the curator of the group.
