This essay draws on the author’s experience teaching two ensemble performance courses to develop a PaR pedagogy for undergraduate students. The model is inspired by Robin Nelson’s proposed elements for a “justifiable” PaR practice: making the tacit explicit, principles of composition, and building connections between “know what” and “know that.” In both versions of the course, the subject of inquiry was California’s use of solitary confinement, and the modes for investigation and presentation of student research were embodied and performative. In the first iteration, students devised original scenes, movement pieces, and immersive explorations. In the second version, students rehearsed and performed a play adapted from the letters, poetry, and artwork of a man who had lived in solitary for over thirty years. After describing the contrasting learning outcomes and performance formats, supplemented with student reflections, the author concludes with a list of proposed tenets that aim to scaffold PaR for novice practitioners while remaining flexible enough to adapt to diverse scholartistic processes.

The correlation between learning styles in a classroom and suitable tools to facilitate learning directly affect learning outcomes Characteristics of students nowadays have been changed by the modern world of technology. Generation Z students have a different concept of what is interesting, challenging and satisfying which in turn, affects learning outcomes. Thus, to achieve a better learning outcome, a suitable learning style and tool to support learning are needed. This paper aims to research and test learning outcomes of students who studied the subject of rapid application development, which was a computational application development course. Two groups of students used two different learning styles: the active learning style and traditional style. The results show a statistical analysis, which was used to compare the learning outcomes and student’s satisfaction. The active learning style indicates that those students who used this had a higher level of effective learning than the students who studied traditionally. Regarding analysis, the learning outcomes and satisfaction of the two learning styles are discussed.

Undergraduate students completed an online tutorial to investigate the impact of the method of presentation on performance, the relationship between personality characteristics and performance, and where and when students complete the tutorial. Performance on the posttest was not significantly different whether students reviewed the animated video or recorded PowerPoint presentation, but performance improved in both conditions from the pretest scores. Contrary to expectation, personality was not related to performance on the posttest. Students generally completed the tutorial in a private space such as a bedroom or dorm room and there was no specific time of day when students were more likely to complete the tutorial. These data suggest that the method of presenting the tutorial might be less important than the use of elaborative inquiry to focus the students’ attention onto critical aspects of the material and to have students think critically about the subject matter. In addition, it is possible that the use of elaborative inquiry might reduce the relationship between personality and success in online learning.

In 2017, the University of Groningen (UG) in The Netherlands and DePaul University in the USA (DePaul) connected undergraduate students in geography courses using an Online International Exchange (OIE) assignment involving videoconferencing. Whereas many international OIE projects are designed on joint alignment principles connecting similar courses and developing similar aims and assignments, this project had a cross-course setup with diverging learning outcomes. In the UG course, OIE was a pretravel activity primarily aimed at developing disciplinary skills. DePaul implemented OIE as an intercultural awareness assignment. Through reflection on the design process and thematic analysis of student reflections, we conclude that the OIE introduced students in the DePaul course to international perceptions and encouraged self-reflection, whilethe OIE stimulated disciplinary skills and introduced intercultural awareness to the UG course. Moreover, OIE stimulated cross-cultural project management skills, increasing awareness of differing educational and urban contexts and thereby training the students in global citizenship. Therefore, this cross-course OIE shows that adapting OIE design to local curricular needs using pre-existing courses can enhance and deepen disciplinaryspecific learning outcomes through cross fertilization, and may create unexpected new learning outcomes. This expands the potential application and benefits of OIE for the internationalization of higher education.

With technology at the fingertips of most undergraduate students, it has been difficult for instructors to fully engage students in the classroom, which has resulted in the creation of several innovative assessment platforms, such as mTuner. mTuner integrates several cognitive learning strategies within an assessment, with the goal of actually enhancing learning, as opposed to just measuring it. In the current study, students’ level of engagement and performance with mTuner were compared to their final multiple-choice paper and pencil exam mark to determine the efficacy of mTuner in achieving improved learning outcomes. Results indicated that students had high performance scores on the mTuner assessment despite their limited engagement in the cognitive learning features, putting to question mTuner’s facilitation of long-term learning. Implications and future recommendations of mTuner implementation in educational environments are discussed.

There has been a steady increase in international students pursuing postgraduate coursework education in English speaking countries. Like first-year undergraduate students, these international students need assistance transitioning into the new educational environment and preparing for self-directed, collaborative learning throughout their careers. Drawing on the social constructivist pedagogical approaches, we developed learning tasks that foster self-regulation and collaboration among postgraduate coursework IT students, aligning these tasks with the learning outcomes of the subject Information Design and Content Management. This paper presents the rationale and method for the design of the learning tasks, and how these learning tasks to not only align with the subject learning outcomes but also facilitate self-regulation. A study involving preand post-subject surveys and interviews with 133 subject students will provide us with further insights into the effectiveness of the learning task design and the areas for improvement.

Problems in the Classroom Action Research (PTK) is the low learning outcomes IPA A fourth grade students of SDN 015 Sungai Salak Kecamatan Tempuling. This study addressed the problem by applying direct instrucsion models. The problem of this research is "Is the direct application of the model intruction IPA can improve learning outcomes in grade IV A SDN 015 Sungai Salak Kecamatan Tempuling ?. The purpose of this study is to improve science learning outcomes in class IV A SDN 015 Sungai Salak Kecamatan Tempuling by way of direct intruction models. Direct intruction A model of fourth grade students of SDN 015 Sungai Salak, Kecamatan Tempuling can improve learning outcomes significantly. At first the student learning outcomes pre-cyclye is 36.00 categorized as very unfavorable; in the first cycle was 61.00 with category; and the results of the second cycle is 81.50 with very good category. Mastery learning individually and classical increases; pre-cyclye 4 students and 20.00 (not finished); in the first cycle is 12 students and 60.00% (not finished) and the second cycle is 19 students or 95% (complete). Based on observations of fourth grade students of SDN 015 A Sungai Salak Kecamatan Tempuling, activity in the first cycle an average of 72% or better and the second cycle of activity is 82% or better at all. Students seem to understand the direct intruction models and they can understand the subject matter properly and appropriately. Based on the research results with direct instructional improvement intruction models managed to fix the problem of low student learning outcomes SDN 015 class IV A Sungai Salak Kecamatan of Tempuling.

Based on the author's experience teaching for this in SD Negeri 010 Banjar PanjangKerumutan, and based on observation and early reflections by the author seen low creativityof students in learning that ultimately ends up in the low student learning outcomesthemselves, especially on the subjects of Natural Sciences. After many tests on the midtermturns lower student learning outcomes. Completeness class only reach 50% or 10 out of 20students, KKM for subjects of Natural Sciences which has been set in the class IV SD Negeri010 Banjar Panjang Kerumutan is the number 70. As Judge things that cause children lowvalue, from the aspect of teachers are: teacher always using methods lectures, learningachievement of children have been considered equally by teachers, and the learning processis dominated by the teacher. This research is a classroom action research (PTK). Class actionresearch through the stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Fromthe research data is a result of learning of natural science at the top can be seen learningoutcome science students from the action on the preliminary data for the first cycle to thesecond cycle by improving student learning outcomes that menigkat are significant, the initialdata of students who achieve mastery only 50 % and cycle to the first increase has reached70% and the thoroughness of the class in the second cycle reaches 85%.

The background of this study was the low student learning outcomes of PPKn, from 28 students who achievedthe completeness criteria at least only 11 students (39.29%). The low student learning outcomes are caused bythe high level of individuality between students so that the achievement of competence among studentsexperiences a very distant difference. Based on this, the researchers made improvements to student learningoutcomes through the application of STAD cooperative learning models. This research is a classroom actionresearch, with the subject of class VII of SMP Negeri 3 Teluk Kuantan. The data used in this study is PPKnlearning outcomes data. The results stated that after applying the STAD type cooperative learning model studentlearning outcomes had increased in the initial data the number of students who completed were 11 students, incycle I had an increase with the number of 18 students, and in cycle II the number of students who completedcontinued to increase by the number 22 student.

The background of this research is the low of mathematics learning result of grade 1 student of SDN 004Tembilahan Kota, for that done perbaiakan learning process by applying method of discussion. This researchwas conducted in SDN 004 Tembilahan Kota with the subject of research is the first grade students with 36students. This research is a classroom action research conducted two cycles. Based on the results of theresearch, it is found that the use of the method of disuksi can improve the students' learning outcomes aboutknowing and determining the length and weight with nonstandard units using concrete objects / concretesituation in the initial data, the total number of completed students is 12 students (33.3%) average 55.83. In thefirst cycle has increased the number of students who complete is 26 students (77.22%) with an average value of80.00. In the second cycle has increased with the total number of students who completed is 32 students (88.89)with an average value of 88.06.

This research is based on the low learning outcome of mathematics students of grade VIII SMPN 4 Tambang.The purpose of this research is to improve the learning outcomes of mathematics through the application ofinquiry learning with CTL approach. This research was conducted in SMPN 4 Tambang with subject of classVIII-D students with 29 students. This classroom action research was started in early January 2017. Theresearch instrument consists of a teacher and student activity sheet instrument and a test of learning outcomes.Based on the results of research and discussion can be concluded that the strategy of inquiry learning with CTLapproach can improve student learning outcomes of mathematics on the subject matter of algebraic form inclass VIII-D SMPN 4 Tambang. On the basic score the number of students who reached the KKM as many as 14people (48.28%) with an average score of 58.79. In cycle I the number of students who reach the KKM of 19people (65.52%) with an average value of 65.69%. In cycle II the number reaching KKM is 25 people (86.21%).
