Indonesia is a developing country that has always prioritized sustainable development. In achieving these development goals, Indonesia needs to achieve economic growth by improving population welfare and increasing income. With the form of panel data from 34 provinces in Indonesia that have unique characteristics, the author presented them during 2015-2019. Through multiple linear regression, this study seeks to discuss the relationship of unemployment, labor force participation rate, and poor people to Indonesia’s GDP growth. These findings suggest that the three macroeconomic variables have a negative impact on GDP. Regarding GDP growth, only unemployment has an actual effect, while others have no significant effect. The implications of the policies pursued by the government are not only paying attention to economic aspects but social problems that are expected to spur economic development.

Mangrove reforestation is often carried out in various regions or regions, but information about the relationship of environmental factors and the distribution of fauna associations is still very minimal. The Principal Component Analysis (PCA) study on the correlation of environmental factors and the spatial distribution of the molusks community in the Seribu Islands mangrove reforestation area was conducted in March 2014 with the aim of analyzing environmental factors for the diversity and presence of the molusks. Environmental factors are measured insecurely, while the moluccan community is collected by making line transects and plots measuring 10 x 10 m2 and in the size of 10 x 10 m2, a small plot of 1 x 1 m2 is made. The results of the study show that environmental factors are not so different between stations and do not exceed the quality standard for the lives of 4 species of mollusks, where the parameters of aquatic pH are the environmental factors that most influence their distribution. Keywords: environmental factors, distribution, mollusks community, mangrove reforestation, Seribu Islands

Cartels have a significantly negative impact on economic welfare. Anti-cartel competition law–such as the provisions of pt IV div 1 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)–tries to tackle this negative impact through civil and criminal remedies. The prohibition of cartels is most commonly justified on economic grounds. However, reference is also often made to broader moral grounds for proscribing cartels–for example, it is commonly stated that cartels are deceptive, unfair or engaged in a form of cheating. This article advances a unified account of the moral status of cartels that integrates both economic and moral factors. It does so by emphasising the relationship of cartel behaviour to the moral duty to promote the common good. Cartels are wrong because they undermine the role of open and competitive markets as a salient response to an important social coordination problem in a way that leads to seriously harmful economic outcomes. This combination of factors supplies a robust justification for both civil and criminal sanctions in appropriate cases, thereby affording a principled foundation for the current framework of cartel regulation in Australia.

Background & Aims: Diverticulitis is the chronic inflammation of diverticula. Whether the pathophysiology of earlier-onset patients differs from later-onset patients is unknown. We profiled the colonic transcriptomes of these two patient populations to gain insight into the molecular underpinnings of diverticulitis. Methods: We conducted deep RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) on colonic segments surgically resected from earlier-onset (<42 years old, n=13) and later-onset (>65 years old, n=13) diverticulitis patients. We used bioinformatic approaches to cluster the patients based on the relationship of differentially expressed genes and to inform on the molecular pathways that segregated the clusters. Results: Principal component analysis identified three patient clusters; diverticulitis later-onset (DVT-LO), diverticulitis mixed-onset (DVT-MO), and diverticulitis earlier-onset (DVT-EO). The patients comprising DVT-EO, which was the majority of earlier-onset patients, displayed increased expression of anti-viral response genes. This finding was confirmed using an independent weighted co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) of differentially expressed genes. Conclusions: We found that the majority of patients with earlier-onset disease contained elevated expression of host genes involved in the anti-viral response. Thus, susceptibility to a viral pathogen may offer one explanation why some individuals develop diverticulitis at an earlier age.

Solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence (SIF) is considered to be a potential indicator of photosynthesis. However, the impact of growth and environmental parameters on SIF at different time-scales remains unclear, which has greatly restricted the application of SIF in detecting photosynthesis variations. Thus, in this study, the impact of growth and environmental parameters on SIF was thoroughly clarified. Here, continuous time series of canopy SIF (760 nm, F760) over wheat and maize was measured based on an automated spectroscopy system. Meanwhile, field measurements of growth and environmental parameters were also collected using commercial-grade devices. Relationships of these parameters with F760, apparent SIF (F760/solar radiance, AF760), and SIF yield (F760/canopy radiance of 685 nm, Fy760) were analyzed using principal component analysis (PCA) and Pearson correlation to reveal their impacts on SIF. Results showed that F760 at seasonal and diurnal scales were mainly driven by solar radiation (SWR), leaf area index (LAI), chlorophyll content (Chl), mean leaf inclination angle (MTA), and relative water content (RWC). Other environmental parameters, including air temperature (Ta), relative humidity (Rh), vapor pressure deficit (VPD), and soil moisture (SM), contribute less to the variation of seasonal or diurnal F760. AF760 and Fy760 are likely to be less dependent on Ta, Rh, and VPD due to the removal of the impact from SWR, but an enhanced relationship of AF760 (and Fy760) with SM was observed, particularly under water stress. Compared with F760, wheat AF760 was better correlated to LAI and RWC as expected, while maize AF760 did not show an enhanced relationship with all growth parameters, probably due to its complicated canopy structure. The relationship of wheat Fy760 with canopy structure parameters was further reduced, except for maize measurements. Furthermore, SM-induced water stress and phenological stages should be taken into consideration when we interpret the seasonal and diurnal patterns of SIF since they were closely related to photosynthesis and plant growth (e.g., LAI in our study). To our knowledge, this is the first exploration of the impacts of growth and environmental parameters on SIF based on continuous ground measurements, not only at a seasonal scale but also at a diurnal scale. Our results could provide deep insight into the variation of SIF signals and also promote the further application of SIF in the health assessments of terrestrial ecosystems.

Most of the available evidence relating early experience to subsequent cognitive development has been concerned with interpersonal interaction variables. In the present paper the relationship of physical environment parameters to development was considered. Subjects were 23 infants who had previously taken part in a longitudinal project which included measurements of the child's physical environment between 12 and 24 months. These measurements were related to the infant's Binet performance at 31 months of age. Results indicated that some physical environment parameters including the presence of audio-visually responsive toys and a lack of overcrowding were related to subsequent Binet performance all across the second year of life. Other items were related to subsequent development only at certain time periods. A breakdown by sex suggested that female development was sensitive to environmental parameters at an earlier age than males and that females were uniquely sensitive to variety/change in their environment. Implications of these findings for early remediation were considered.

The objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between workplace friendship, perceptions of organizational politics and organizational citizenship behavior in Pakistan’s public sector organizations. Data has been collected through structured questionnaire from 150 employees. The results of the study show a negative impact of perceptions of organizational politics on organizational citizenship behavior, while workplace friendship affects organizational citizenship behavior positively. The workplace friendship significantly moderates the relationship of perceptions of organizational politics and organizational citizenship behavior. The future research needs to test the relationship of perceptions of organizational politics with other organizational outcomes, and should collect the data from various types of organizations.
