Culture of Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) with high stocking density and feeding can cause a decrease in water quality due to the accumulation of metabolic waste such as ammonia which is toxic for fish rearing. A zeolite filter is needed which can reduce ammonia levels until it is not harmful to fish survival. This research was conducted in February-April 2020 at the Aquaculture Environmental Quality Laboratory, Fisheries and Marine Faculty of Riau University. The purposed of this study was to determine the effect of using zeolite on Ammonia (NH3) and determine the appropriate dose for Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) rearing. The research method was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) one factor with 4 levels of treatment (P0: Control without the use of filters, P1: Use of zeolite 5.68 g/L, P2: Use of zeolite 11.37 g/L, P3: Use of zeolite 17.05 g/L). The appropriate treatment for Tilapia rearing is P3 (Zeolite 17.05 g/L) with TAN value is 0.2616 mg/L, Ammonia 0.0018 mg/L, TAN reduction is 59%, and Survival Rate of fish is 88.88%. Mortality of perinatal lambs and low weight at weaning cause huge liabilities to farmers. Current study describes maternal-filial behavior and evaluates the use of maternal behavior score (MBS) to estimate the behavior of ewes and lambs soon after birth, and correlate it with lamb mortality and performance during lactation. Thirty-seven Corriedale ewes were used in a completely randomized design. MBS was assessed up to 24 hours after birth, taking into consideration the distance of the ewe from the lamb at the approach of a person. Maternal behavior, placental weight, weight gain of the lambs until weaning and their survival rate were also evaluated until two hours after lambing. More than 90% of the ewes had adequate maternal behavior, with parental care, even though ewes were very sensitive to the presence of people. There was no significant correlation between MBS and maternal behavior, lamb mortality rate and live weight gain. Under these conditions, MBS was not a useful tool to estimate maternal behavior and performance of lambs.

Catfish (Clarias sp.) is a freshwater fish that is widely cultivated because it is a leading commodity. Increased production of catfish resulted in extra area of cultivated land and water use. The technology suitable to be applied is aquaponic system. In addition to saving land and water use, Aquaponic is also improving business efficiency through the utilization of nutrients from food remains and fish metabolism. Water quality is an important factor for the success of cultivation. Maintenance catfish with the addition of probiotics in aquaponic system can be a solution for maintaining water quality, because it contains bacteria that can increase nitrite to nitrate changes that can be utilized for growth of plants and do not poison the fish. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of different probiotics in the aquaponic system towards growth rate and survival rate of catfish. The method that used in this research is experimental with completely randomized design (four  treat and five repeated) are P0 (control), P1 (probiotic A), P2 (probiotic B) and P3 (probiotic C). Analysis of data processed using Analysis of Variance. If there are significant differences then continued Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The results showed that the giving of probiotics in the aquaponic system is significantly different (p <0.05). The final conclusion is that the addition of probiotics in  aquaponic system affect the growth rate and survival rate of catfish. The highest specific growth rate (0.025%/ day) and the highest survival rate (77.8%) contained in the P2 treatment. The lowest specific growth rate (0.019% /day) and the lowest survival rate (64.4%) contained in P0 treatment (control). Keywords : Aquaponic, Catfish, Probiotic, Growth Rate, Survival Rate, Clarias sp.
