The outbreak of the Covid-19 Pandemic has brought a shift in the way the teaching and learning process has been conducted in the education field. Most of the lessons are conducted in a digital context for the safety of both teachers and students. Thus, this study aims to look into the impact of the pandemic on students’ willingness to communicate (WTC) in English in a digital context in a local higher education institution (HEIs) in Sabah, Malaysia. A qualitative approach was employed in this study involving 25 pre-university students. The data was obtained from a focus group interview and was later transcribed and coded into dominant and sub-dominant themes. The findings revealed that the students unanimously agreed that having classes in a digital context does affect their WTC in English. It is hoped that these findings would give a better insight to English language instructors (ELIs) to plan a conducive learning environment that could facilitate students' WTC in a digital context.

Purpose Higher education (HE) institutions create, disseminate, share and exchange knowledge through relationships among people, processes and technologies. Knowledge sharing (KS) in academia enables people within the institute to develop practices which allow them to collect and share what they know. This often leads to actions that improve services and outcomes. Despite the opportunities, this sharing is not without implications as it exposes the knowledge sharer and recipient to a number of vulnerabilities and risks, which hinders the knowledge-sharing process. The paper aims to discuss these issues. Design/methodology/approach This paper adopted a constructivist approach, which utilised focus group discussions within three UK universities. These were identified to improve the usefulness and effectiveness of the knowledge-sharing process. Findings The paper concluded by purporting that by developing an understanding of the risks and opportunities of sharing HE, institutions will continue to grow, regenerate and develop knowledge. The results highlighted the plethora of risks and opportunities resulting from KS. These were further grouped into the political, social and organisational culture. Originality/value This paper addresses the gap of risks perceptions of KS in HE institutions.

AbstractThe objective of this article is to evidence possible contributions of a multidimensional didactics for the pedagogical practice. Considering its fundamental principles, which include: teaching with research; dialogical relations; pedagogical mediation, network of knowledge and processes of praxis. Thus, some questions arise, such as: What are the post-graduate students' perceptions regarding the complexity of a Multidimensional Didactics and its contributions to the teaching activity? In this exploratory research, nine postgraduate students participated in Education - masters and doctoral students, teaching higher education in various areas. Thereby, their productions written about what didactics teaches the own area in conjunction with the theoretical - Franco and Pimenta (2016); Pimenta, Franco and Fusari (2015); Libâneo (2014); Charlot (2000); Freire (1997); Veiga (1996); Candau (1983) – comprised the corpus of research. The study had as assumptions the understanding that education, object of didactics, configures itself as a social practice and a complex phenomenon, which requires different interlocutions among knowledges, to be constantly rebuilt by teachers and requires a rupture with the prescriptive models and transmissive classroom, for a training focused on research. In this sense, teachers and students to understand researchers, problematize the reality in the search for alternatives for reflection-transformation.Keywords: Didactics; Teaching in Higher Education; Multidimensional Didactics; Teaching-learning. The strength of co-teaching informs educators’ understanding of their own teaching practice and fosters a rediscovery of their passion for teaching.  Instructors bring their skills and competencies to the co-teaching relationship in ways that create an instructional dynamic greater than can be achieved individually.  From a mixed methods research design, instructors’ focus group interview data were examined with regard to identifying elements that influence successful co-teaching experiences, factors that impact the development and sustainability of the co-teaching relationship, and challenges that need to be addressed to avoid a breakdown in the co-teaching relationship. Drawing on the literature and the data, four recommendations for co-teaching practice are shared.  Further, implications for educational development and administrative support are discussed in relation to co-teaching practice in higher education.
