This study was aimed at investigating the extent to which recount texts in two selected English textbooks meet the recount text criteria and to find out the similarities and differences of the recount texts between the two selected English textbooks. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method. The data in this study were four forms of recount texts taken from the two selected textbooks. Data analysis was done through analyzing, displaying, reducing, and drawing a conclusion. The data of this study include the generic structure, social objectives, and linguistic elements. The results of the analysis showed findings as follows: (1) four forms of the recount texts in the English textbooks have met the generic structure criteria, namely orientation, event, and reorientation; (2) one of the four recount texts fulfilled social goals; and (3) the four recount texts fulfilled the linguistic element. In short, the recount texts in English textbooks were similar to in terms of linguistic elements and type of process, while differences were found in terms of social goals and generic structure.

This study aims to determine the Tourist Perception of Bokori Island Tourism Object in Bokori Village, Soropia District of Konawe Regency. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Subjects in this study were tourists visiting attractions Bokori Island. Traveler sampling in this study set out in the quota sampling 50 respondents, in this study the sample collection technique by accidental sampling.Methods of  data collection using questionnaires, observation and documentation. Questionnaire data analysis in this research is the analysis presented in the table percentage and distribution. Based on the results obtained show that, according to the perception of tourists attractions of the Bokori Island (1) appeal to the average score - average rating of 3.31 with the perception of being in either category, (2) accessibility with a mean score - average of 3.40 with the perception of tourists are in good category, (3) visitor facilities with a mean score - average rating of 3.12 with the perception of being in either category, (4) infrastructure with a mean score - average 3.53 with the perception of tourists were in the excellent category, (5) security with a mean score - average of 3.24 with the perceptions of visitors are in good category, (6) the promotion with a mean score - average of 3.32 with the perceptions of visitors are in either category. Thus the perception of the overall rating showed a mean score - average rating of 3.32 with the perception of being in either category.

This undergraduate thesis examines the type of transitive verbs found in a children story entitled “Pinocchio”, which was taken from the children story book entitled Disney Storyland Treasury, and analyzes the degree of transitivity found in the story. The data were collected using the documentation method and were analyzed using the descriptive qualitative method. In addition, in order to present the data analysis clearly, both formal and informal methods were used since the data were described in form of sentences and tables. The main theory applied in this study is proposed by Hopper and Thompson (1980) about transitivity, who said that transitivity is a matter of degree and partly because obviousness of change in the object. This theory is supported by the types of verb proposed by Givon (1984), which is used to find out the types of verb in the story. The finding of the analysis showed that there were three types of verbs found in the story namely state verb, action verb and process verb. Each verb has different degree of transitivity, where the degree of state verb is categorized as low in transitivity, action and process verbs have the highest degree of parameter of transitivity.

This research was conducted at PDAM Tirta Daroy Banda Aceh, with the aim to answer the question of how the payroll accounting system applied in PDAM Tirta Daroy Banda Aceh.This research uses descriptive qualitative method. Data obtained from interviews and documentation studies, then analyzed interactively and lasted continuously until complete so that the data has been saturated. Activity in data analysis is data reduction, data presentation, treanggulation and conclusion / verification.The results show PDAM Tirta Daroy Banda Aceh has implemented a neat and well-payroll accounting system in accordance with applicable accounting standards. Payroll accounting system in PDAM Tirta Daroy Banda Aceh is used to overcome errors and irregularities in the calculation and payment of salary. Payroll accounting systems are designed by companies to provide a clear picture of employee salaries so that they are easy to understand and easy to use.

This study aims at analyzing mood structure type of the clause on recount and procedure text in English textbooks of SMA where it was analyzed based on the mood structure types of the clause. It was designed as a descriptive qualitative study and discourse analysis. Data were collected through documentation method. The technique in collecting the data is by determining the source to be investigated, determining the supporting resources, and seeking the recount and procedure text on the English textbook. The Data were analyzed using Mood structure analysis suggested by M.A.K Haliday. In analyzing the data, the activities did by deep reading, identifying, classifying, analyzing, and calculating the percentages. Based on the results of the data analysis, the findings of this research can be stated as follows: (1) There are some types of mood structure in the English textbooks of SMA at the tenth grade students which published by Pusat Perbukuan Departemen Pendidikan Nasional especially on recount text, they are indicative: declarative mood (99,41%), indicative: interrogative mood (0,59%), and imperative mood (0%). (2) The results of mood structure type on procedure text are indicative: declarative mood (25,62%), indicative: interrogative mood (0%), and imperative mood (74,38%). (3) The results in the textbook which published by Yudhistira especially on recount text are indicative: declarative mood (98,94%), indicative: interrogative mood (1,06%), and imperative mood (0%), and also on procedure text are indicative: declarative mood (25%), indicative: interrogative mood (0%), and imperative mood (75%).

Novel is a literary work which is also known as fiction. Therefore, the notion of fiction also applies to the novel, which is a result of dialogue, contemplation, and the author's reaction to the environment and life. Each writer has a message that is implied in each of his works, one of which is as a distributor of da'wah messages. In this study, the researcher chose the novel Hati Suhita by Khilma Anis compared to the novel Dua Barista by Najhati Sharma. Because these two novels are the work of writers who were born in Islamic boarding schools. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The results of this study indicate that there are similarities and differences in the message of da'wah in the novel Hati Suhita by Khilma Anis and the novel Dua Barista by Najhati Sharma.

Generally, blending can be defined as combining two clipped words. Kvetko in Bednarova defines blending as a word formation process similar to shortening combined with merging two different words. There are many types of blending words both in Indonesian and English context. Therefore, the aim of this research is to analyze the comparison between Indonesian blend words and English blend words in terms of its types, its similarities and differences and also how its formed. In this paper the researcher use descriptive qualitative method as the method of the research. The source of the data is taken from some journal articles that relevant with blend words both in Indonesian and English context. The result showed that Indonesian blend words and English blend words not only have similarities in the forming word, but also have their differences that make them unique to each other. The writer hopes that the reader of this article gets more information about both Indonesian and English blend words based on its types and the similarities and the difference between them.

The objective of the research is to investigate the use of transitivity process in students' descriptive text and to find out the most dominant process of transitivity used. The data analyzed were 46 clauses taken from descriptive text written by six students of tenth grade of senior high school. In this research, the writers used descriptive qualitative method. The result of the research showed that there were 4 types of processes that occurred in the data, they were: material process (8, 70%), mental process (17, 39%), relational process (45, 65%), and existential process (28, 26%). While, behavioral and verbal process were not found. The most dominant process found was relational process. It implies that students were aware how descriptive text should be written, since one of language features in descriptive text is using clauses with relational process.

The purpose of this study, first, is to analyze the echocritical element reflected by the author through the short story Pegasus Jatuh. Second, integrate ecological values in literature teaching. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The approach used is Garrard's eco-criticism. Sources of data obtained from the behavior of characters in the short story. Data analysis begins by marking words, phrases, clauses, and sentences that have a focus on environmental exploitation. The results show in the short story “Pegasus Jatuh”, the author reflects environmental phenomena that include illegal logging, buying and selling protected animals, and exploitation of gold. The analysis applied in literature learning which has an important role in character education. Literature in education has a role to develop the language, cognitive, affective, psychomotoric, personality, and social aspects of students.

The article deals with the translation strategies used in Toba Dream Movie. The objectives of this study were to find out types and most dominant type of translation strategies used in the subtitles of Toba Dream movie. The study was conducting by using descriptive qualitative method. The data of the study were words, phrases, and clauses in the subtitle of  Toba  Dream movie, there  were 425 dialogues in the movie. The data analysis were taken by listing and tabulating the data. The data were analyzed based on the theory that proposed by Henrik Gottlieb. The findings inducted that there  were ten types of translation strategies used in the movie, they were there were (319 times)used transfer strategy,  (37 times) used paraphrase, (27 times) used dislocation, (20 times)used resignation, (10times) used expansion, (5 times)used decimation, (4 times) utterances which used condesation, (1time) used imitation, (1time) used transcription and (1time) used deletion. The dominant strategy used in the subtitles of Toba Dream movie was transfer strategy where the translator  translated the dialogues completely and correctly.

This research is made because the occurance of the unfairness gender to the woman inEntrok novel by Okky Madasari that effects woman resistance to gain gender equality. Thepurpose of the research is to describe the unfairness gender and woman resistance in Entrok novelby Okky Madasari by using gender unfairness analysis based on sosialist feminism theories. Thisresearch uses descriptive qualitative method. The gender unfairness of woman in Entrok novel iscaused by man’s opinion that is sevoregein in a relative or a sociaty or called by domination ofpatriarki. it influences sociaty’s culture and tradition. It causes misunderstanding between societyabout what is gender and sex. That gender unfairness is a booster of feminism movementapperance. It appears because of the meaning of gender that is not understood well by the society.Feminism movement which is done by woman is a woman resistance caused by unfairnessgender that adverses herself.Based on the data analysis the researcher found five kinds ofunfairness of woman that effects domination of patriaki. It causes gender unfairness. Those arestereotype, subordination, marginalization, double burden, and violence to the woman. Genderunfairness makes the woman do resistance and demands equity for herself. There are sevenresistences that is done by woman in Entrok novel. Those are the resistance to the stereotip thatwoman is weak and man is strong, the resistance to the stereotip that woman who becomes thesecond wife is called a bitch. The resistance to the marginalization in occupation, the resistance tothe marginalization in household, the resistance to the marginalization caused by govermentpolicy, the resistance to the double burden cause by patriaki system and resistance to the violenceand rape. But all of the resistances that are done is note able to change gender unfairness happens.This because of man’s patriaki domination that is valided by culture construction that is increasingly glutinous in society’s opinion.
